We walked in without reservations and were immediately seated. It was after 8 PM on a Sunday evening so the dinner rush was over. Our servers were nice. We started with salad appetizers. I had the caesar salad and my friends shared the market house salad. My salad was covered with large shards of parmesan. It is my all time favorite salad and was very pleasing. My friends finished theirs without complaint. The entrees arrived in a timely manner and were beautiful. I had the sun dried tomato alla vodka over rigatoni. Love rigatoni and LOVE vodka sauce. I was in heaven eating this creation. My friend had the wild mushroom pizza which was huge! His husband ordered the HVCC Meatball which was also HUGE and a spaghetti. The portions were definitely generous and worth the price so make sure you are ready to eat!! We decided to pass on dessert as we were pretty full. I did not use the restrooms but from the looks of the restaurant, I am confident they were satisfactory. I loved the ambiance. Although we dined later in the evening, I appreciated the service, delicious food and decor! They had a bocce court outside and a lovely stone statue with a circular bench. We visited on the Friday before V-day, the house was packed around 18:30. The wait was 45 mins which wasn't too bad for a Friday night. We decided to wait in the lobby after trying to find a cozy waiting spot near the bar and missing. My wife attempted to order me a mocktail, but of course the bar was crazy busy. When the bartender finally acknowledged her, the mocktail requests obviously threw the bartender for a loop because I ended up with watered down ginger beer and a sprig of mint. My advice for anyone looking for a virgin drink at this bar would be to order a club soda with lime and call it a night. We were seated at the 45 min mark, and were escorted to the packed bar, where they have some exterior tables for diners. My seat was in the middle of the couch split, which I found mighty uncomfortable so we opted to request a seat in the main dining room, which the staff happily obliged. With dinner we ordered hot tea and were given lukewarm water and a choice of Stash teas. Our beverage experience here was very disappointing. The calamari arrived and may have been the only highlight, although we didn't find it to have that fresh calamari texture. My wife ordered a ravioli with mushroom, and felt the pasta and veggies were just swimming in butter. I ordered my steak medium and it was okay, but the juices from the greens made the croquettes soggy, and unenjoyable. The server did his best, and all the staff here are so kind. Coulda been an off night but I doubt we'll be back anytime soon. The Mocktail Madam.

The portions were plentiful and the preparation of the entrees were proper. The flavoring and seasoning was spot on. The pasta with my veal Marsala was a tad overcooked but still good. We ordered two mushroom slices, a white slice, and a cheese slice, and every bite reminded us why we've been talking about this pizza for more than twenty years. The slices are huge, loaded with fresh ingredients, and somehow manage to hold their shape perfectly. No floppy crust. No toppings sliding off. Just classic New York pizza done exactly right. In fact, Emiliano's is our gold standard pizza pie. Every other pizza we eat gets measured against it. The mushroom slices were generously topped and packed with flavor. The cheese slice was everything a New York slice should be: simple, balanced, and delicious. The white slice was outstanding as well. While we waited, the owner even brought us a complimentary piece of fried dough, which was a thoughtful and very appreciated gesture. What really stands out, though, is the atmosphere. Service was prompt and genuinely friendly. It seemed like everyone who walked through the door knew somebody. There's a strong sense of community here that feels increasingly rare these days. Tjs pizza is hands down the the best pizza there is. I dont care what other people say they just dont understand you can give them a list of how you want your food done and they nail it every time.For tjs pizza to get ant thing less then 4 or 5 stars they have to be fake reviews honestly and purposely done,just so tjs dont look so good. This place had been around for over 40 years they know what there doing with out a doubt. And hey every one makes mistakes and if they do they will always make it right. In fairness, I have 10+ reps here now--eating in, taking out and delivery--and at this point I'm ready to pour a little affection on this place. Stone's is just it. Want an exceptional plain slice? It's here. Want some of the best wings you've had from a pizza shop? They're here--and they're frying them in beef tallow. Want a carefully considered specialty slice that actually earns the right to be different? Pick one behind the glass. Want a sandwich? A pizza shop frankly shouldn't be making sandwiches this stupidly delicious, but apparently Stone's decided that was their lane too. The creativity isn't there for novelty. These guys clearly think about food. And that's really what separates Stone's for me: consideration. The dough gets a minimum 48-hour fermentation. The ingredients matter. The wings matter. The sandwiches matter. The sauces matter. The way a slice is constructed matters. There is a level of intention here that you can taste before you ever know any of that. But I probably wouldn't love Stone's this much if it were only about the food. I love the playful banter from behind the glass. I love asking about a slice and getting an answer from someone who is genuinely excited to tell you what they made. I love that on more than one occasion I've been sent home with a few tastes of something I hadn't ordered or hadn't gotten the chance to try. Those little interactions stick with you. The ownership loves what they're doing, they've mastered their craft, and somehow they've managed to make that enthusiasm contagious. There are plenty of places that make great pizza. Stone's feels like a great pizza shop. There's a difference. So, to the ownership of Stone's: keep going. Whatever you're trying to build here, don't stop. It feels inevitable that more people are going to discover this place. Watching that happen is going to be fun. P.S. -- Stone's may not know this yet, but they've developed a strangely loyal satellite market in Garrison, NY. It's basically two houses: mine and my neighbor's. We've figured out both how to make the Wappingers-to-Garrison run and, somehow, how to get Stone's delivered all the way down here. So if an order is making that unlikely trip south, there's a pretty safe chance it's headed to one of our houses. Consider us the unofficial Garrison chapter. Can't wait to watch this place grow. 5/5.
