Super super delicious, very friendly atmosphere. Can't get enough ice cream. Adorable pricing and generous portions.

There are so many ice cream shops in the area. I love Fortunes, which I would say is in a different category than Holy Cow. I am glad I went to Holy Cow... for the soft serve. If you have classic taste, get the chocolate and vanilla soft serve swirl with chocolate crunchies. Let the crunchies sit in the soft serve a bit. So rich and good. It might be one of the top soft serves I've ever had, and I can't easily think about what else is up there because I don't think of soft serve that often. It's also super affordable, and cash only. Luckily I went when there was barely a line and they were nice to deal with my questions. As someone else mentioned, the menu/options aren't super clear.

Vanilla milkshake with whip cream - tasty.

How can you not give such a great rating for one of the best ice creams in the Hudson Valley or all time?! It may be a long line when visiting (even at 8:15 at night), but's it well worth it though. The menu provides a lot of choices to pick from with many flavors of ice cream to choose from, wheater it is in a cone or dish. They also provide cakes, drinks, milkshakes, and slushies as an alternative which is also very good. For milkshakes, requesting whip cream is recommended, unless they happen to ask. They have signs at the door and at the cash register that state - it is CASH and CHECKS only. They do not take credit cards with no expectations. Everything is well priced which makes sense with their policy. Just bring a lot of cash. Bring it on at Holy Cow!

It's creamy alright. And fresh if I may add. But chocolate, it's not. My chocolate ice cream tasted exactly like vanilla- spiked with brown syrup. Not a fan. On Rt 9 in Red Hook, front entrance is a bit deceiving- but you'll find it once you enter the small plaza and make that turn towards the back. My husband skipped ice cream this time and wanted a lemon Icee- but these folks don't carry any. Thought about lemon sorbet- scratch that too. Instead, he picked up one of those Berry All Fruit popsicles. Come back here? Nnnno. There's just good chocolate ice cream and then there's terrible chocolate ice cream- and this lacked. Oh... it's ca$h only.

A friend who grew up in this area recommended visiting Holy Cow while I was apple picking nearby. Beware it is CASH ONLY. Upon entering this little ice cream shop, it was quite difficult to see what flavors are offered on the menu and what types of ice cream they offered. I got the "Holy Cow" flavor -- no idea why it's named after the store when it was just regular peanut butter swirl ice cream with pb cups. It was creamy and decent, but came in flimsy styrofoam cups. The prices were really cheap (at least coming from nyc, HA) though, so I can't complain too much. There's also a lot of picnic tables outside.

Delicious homemade frozen yogurt and ice cream. You might wait on line on a hot summer day but it's totally worth it if you're in the area.

I came into this store on a whim as I walked from Dunkin' to this location (originally hoping to stop at Hannaford nearby instead). Although I still saw the gas pumps out front, my first need was solved in your selection of Ham submarine sandwiches (in the deli case nearest the registers) - something not all Stewarts Shops have - and a bottle of Poland Spring water to drink (23.7 oz sports top) on my walk back later that day (only to spot my ride meeting me near the former location of the Bagel Place/car shop not very far from your shop). I had ideas that day to pick up a bottle of Pure Leaf Tea&Lemonade but decided it wasn't something I needed and put that item back. But during this experience, I noticed a trickle of folks coming in and out. Still, very few stayed in for very long, and by the end of my quick visit for a quick stop for a few items (even without my bags), I felt out of place and was hoping for more questions about my visit. I haven't been coming in many times now, because my car is not working and I'm in a catch-22, and walking is just too far at about 2 miles on foot.

This staff is so diligent, polite, easy-going and happy. If they are not helping customers; they cook up the snazziest pizzas and wrap up cool-cat breakfast/lunch sandwiches. I went in for my favorite - (banana split) - on my special day, and although I was greeted warmly by the store manager - Patience - they really strived to make things up to me from just what happened on 7/4's review (the one that got away from them). She knew me from other past orders, but never this close - to be on my special day. She asked all the right questions (about the whipped cream and chocolate syrup) and even the cherry on top and although I had to lighten things for sugar content, I knew nothing was yet to go wrong and that I was striving for more. About 5 minutes after I walked and paid and later watched her prepare the stuff, but that I was able to step back with my stuff and eat it while people-watching all the while. I'm sorry that whenever I come in, I'm always on foot. Being that all the cars we own, I've had some trouble with driving. Having other people here who have cars but have some trouble with insurance, really strikes out that forces us to not drive, and it's totally great that I can walk to your place totally on foot and still pick up some great service. Ambience is what I've come to expect. That feeling of classic gas station turned convenience store while showing no signs of it's former gas station appearance, really says something. The walls are almost always clean and I almost always forget that there's a billboard of stuff on their north wall nearest the windows and restroom.

We waited in line for a spell and when we went to start our order we encountered our first remora... cash only. (People still carry cash, huh?) Crisis averted (yeah, my kids had cash on them!) - back in line to try this again. Family of four all getting some serious treats and all for under $20? Sweet! (Dad puns unavoidable, sorry.)
