I went here around 8 PM, the ice cream was so good. I ordered a banana split. The customer service was amazing. I hadn't been here in years, it was good seeing some familiar faces despite not visiting in a while. The first order was placed inside of the store, it was very clean, they're seating. They serve soft and hard ice cream. I also noticed that there were not dairy options. The second order I placed was at the window. The girls that work here were amazing. read more

This is a great place. My family and I come get ice cream here basically once a week in the summer. It's one of a few things you can do that are still affordable. Go for a nice walk on the walkway and get a nice treat. The workers are always quick and the line moves fast always. There's also a pizza place right next-door in case you don't want ice cream! read more

Everything about this place was spectacular. *Indoor and outdoor seating so we could bring the dog. And not just a crappy little metal table wobbling around and drawing bees, but many NICE tables under cover, as well as a few benches and picnic tables out by the yard. *Ice cream was completely delicious and perfect temperature (not so cold that it was basically frozen rocks, but just soft enough!). *Staff were friendly and polite. Extremely pleasant overall attitude. This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend Frozen Caboose! read more

It was the first day of spring and we had to celebrate with sown ice cream. The strawberry ice cream was full of strawberry chunks! Tasted so fresh. My coffee ice cream was amazing. You can't go wrong with coffee in any shape or form. We definitely enjoyed our ice cream and would recommend it. read more

A cute little ice cream shop a short drive away from Walkway on the Hudson. Good flavors! Got the Panda Paw, Rocky Mt Raspberry and Cookie and Cream and the combo worked quite well. Very cream and good flavoring. Customer service was great too. Quite a good find in Poughkeepsie. A treat to ourselves after walking across the bridge. Didn't feel as bad about ingesting all that calorie! read more

Super conveniently located right off 9w and down the road from the Walkway for a nice summer treat. They have a really great outdoor covered patio to enjoy your ice cream and relax after grabbing your order from the window. Staff are always friendly and patient with the indecisive choice makers (me‍). The soft-serve is nice and smooth, and the hard ice cream flavors are plentiful. This is the 4th time I have been here and not once has it been disappointing. The flavors are fun and they vary from basics Cookies and Cream to fun Cookie Monster! The prices are on par with any small type of frozen confection store. No food only ice creams and drinks they have something called ice cream nachos which I haven't had a chance to get but when it does I will update. It's staffed by high school kids so its a local spot of sorts. It is a fun place, good size scoops and I have always felt like I get my money's worth! read more

The young workers here recommended me an ice cream "Dulce de leche". I had a cup with dulce de leche and cappuccino. The cappuccino was good but dulce de leche is horrible. Just tasteless and plain. The worst I have ever tried. I told them and they were like "well too bad" no courtesy in changing it and giving me a different flavor. Customer service skills and good ice cream are needed in this place. Ask to try the flavor you want before you order. They prefer to Lose a customer than a ball of ice cream read more

Tucked away next to a Pizza Place! They had basic flavors to keep an ice cream shop going but nothing unusual that jumped out at me so it took a few minutes to decide. They get extra stars for being clean and having outdoor seating but for an Ice Cream shop it seem to be missing the Wow Factor by having something unusual that would make me come back. This place reminded me of getting an Ice Cream at Stewart's while shopping for something else. Someone at this place should check out the competition at Joe's Dairy Bar in Hopewell Junction for additional gimmicks like a flavor of the month or at Zoe's in La Grangeville for pints and icee cream cookie sandwiches or at least get cool Tie Dye T-Shirts in 3&4XL sizes to sell to the customers for advertising. Show me something that would make me remember my experience here! read more

We had just gone on a nice long ride around the area, and we were in the mood for ice cream. This place popped up as being nearby on Yelp, and it seemed to have some good reviews, so we decided to head over. The ordering was a little chaotic, with no real line to speak of, just a crowd milling around the counter, with a lot of kids blocking view of the flavors. I ended up ordering banana cream pie and peanut butter fudge. Lee ended up with just banana cream pie. Overall, the ice cream was good, nice and balanced and not too sweet. Since the place was pretty busy, there weren't any good places to sit in the shade. They could use some umbrellas on the tables that aren't on the porch area. I had the dole whip pineapple/coconut soft serve twist. It was so delicious. Lots of hard ice cream flavors to choose from. Including Cookie Monster and brownie batter that my kids had. We had our ice cream at a nice outdoor patio with a cover. Friendly staff and credit cards are accepted. read more

This is your typical, local ice cream place. There was a variety of ice cream flavors and ice cream creations, but the ice cream itself wasn't anything special. Unlike other local ice cream places, Frozen Caboose has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating which was nice. read more

While on an ice cream safari to celebrate my daughters birthday, we looked on yelp and found the Frozen Caboose. It is right near the Walkway and has lots of parking. The flavor boards are separated into "Jane's Flavors and Perry's. Jane's flavors have no dyes or artificial ingredients, but Perry's does. They give very generously sized scoops, making even a small seem huge. We were unimpressed with the Rocky Road and Instagraham. The Rocky Road's peanuts in my daughter's scoop were soggy and the Instagraham was flavorless, but we would definitely recommend the Trash Can and the German Chocolate Cake flavors. Overall, the Frozen Caboose was a nice experience. read more

This place is wonderful! There were so many different flavors of ice cream to choose from, as well as a few sorbets. I loved the queen of hearts flavor (dark chocolate with raspberries) and cookies and cream, and my husband really enjoyed his dipped waffle cone. We came here for ice cream because our friends were going there. My friend got the Dulce de leche and cappuccino and the Dulce de leche was tasteless. She wanted to change it to cappuccino and they refuse. I think they should have changed it because as a group we spent a lot of money and one scoop is not going to make them poor. Definitely not returning. Not business friendly. read more

Get yourself a delicious, frozen reward after a stroll across the Walkway. I had a medium peanut butter cup ice cream in a decorated cone with chocolate sprinkles. Rich and creamy ice cream in a sweet and crunchy cone. Served quickly and they were not stingy on scoop sizes. Will definitely be back for more. read more

This was my first time trying the Frozen Caboose. In all, it was a pretty good experience. The service was actually fairly good, my boyfriend really enjoyed how happy the girl was to serve us and he ended up really enjoying his (odd) milkshake. I had a simple vanilla sundae with hot fudge. I also tried the dulce de leche ice cream because they allow you to sample any flavors you want (and as many as you want!). THAT was an amazing flavor that I would definitely recommend if you're into trying new flavors. I usually stick to my regular order but I would definitely get this next time. My only complaint is that the ice cream isn't fantastic - it's good, but not fantastic. There are options to sit inside or outside the shop. We sat outside BUT the inside looked very clean. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

What a great spot!! After walking the Walkway over the Hudson, my girlfriend and I wanted ice cream. We were looking forward to our Frozen Caboose trip and we not disappointed at all. The staff attended to us quickly, the ice cream was perfect and the outdoor seating area was clean and exactly where you would want to be on a gorgeous summer night. I can't wait to go back and sample some more tasty treats. They also serve wine ice cream to those of age. What else do you need?? read more

What an amazing place to bring your family. Fantastic, locally made hard ice cream from Jane's and Perry's, soft-serve ice cream, soft-serve yogurt, sorbet and smoothies. Beautiful decor, warm inside dining, as well as a breezy outdoor patio make this place the most attractive and enjoyable ice cream shop around! And right on the Walkway over Hudson. The owner, a former HS principal and now store owner does not demonstrate professionism or compassion for her customers. She doenot deserve to be patronized! She has been openly disrespectful to children with a disability on more than one occasion. Embarrassing the child, mother and family openly in front of her employees and customers. Respecting each other no matter the age or physical health should be a priority. Considering another store would be a positive and more compassionate choice. read more

Three stars because they had no frozen yogurt as advertised, but The ice cream flavors are unique and plentiful. We came here instead of going to Stewart's. Kind of skimpy on the hot fudge and toppings. This is more of a walkway attraction then a local hangout it seems. Nice to try. read more

My family loves heading here in the warm weather. They're always friendly and have lots of choices to choose from. We usually sit outside under their covered patio seating. There's walk up window ordering or you can go inside. We never have to wait very long and always leave happy! If you're in the area visiting the Walkway you gotta try it. 4th time here this month. Has Perry's Ice scream and local supplier Jane's Ice Cream. Flavors include pear sorbet, killer chocolate, panda paws, salted caramel pretzel, and more. They also have soft serve, but we didn't bother. A small cone is pretty big. We'll be here again soon.... read more

Great ice cream. Very nice setting, inside and on their deck. It was also very clean (including the men's room). I noticed their outside tables were not wood. Some places buy wood picnic tables but they always seem to be a sticky mess. These were a plastic type surface that could be easily cleaned (and they were clean). Also had ceiling fans on the outside deck area which was nice. The staff was also friendly. Lots of things to choose from too. read more

So excited to have a icecream place in town. The location is perfect, the buliding is very well decorated and has great seating inside and out. The staff made us feel like we were VIP's when we entered. The Icecream was AMAZING!!! I was so happy to find out it was made locally. The sevice was terrific. Hubby took a taste of the cannoli and gave it a thumbs up. He enjoyed the water ice more than Ralph's because it wasn't as icy. Local businesses are so important to the local community and it seems that La Deliziosa is holding its own. Regardless let's keep them going!

I probably shouldn't of eaten here after walking. I was walking to lose weight but I couldn't help myself when I saw this place. It's spotless so clean looks so new! They have so many unique flavor a and I had Panda something? I can't remember the name but boy was it damn good. They also have doggy ice cream for dogs lovers out there (it's really just low fat and sugar free frozen yogurt with a dog treat on top) and it's a cute and great way for your dogs to cool down after their walk on the bridge!!
