This is my first time at Chakra Bowls since they moved from the original location. When I first walked in, I was in awe! The decor is so cute! Plenty of space to sit and relax. I got a Mermaid Smoothie and the OG avo toast. As some other reviews point out, the food is certainly on the expensive side. However, the quality of the food is unmatched. It tastes fresh. I would rather pay extra for healthy food without additives or fillers than save a couple dollars. If you have the resources, I recommend ordering from here. Good food but extremely overpriced for serving size. I've eaten at a lot of vegan and organic spots around the Hudson valley, as well as in other states, and have no problem paying for good healthy food. But $80+ for two salad bowls, a small bottled natural juice, a near raw flour flavorless GF cookie that fell apart in my hands when I ripped the wrapper open, and a few TINY overpriced crystals is crazy work. Two bowls alone were like $40. Just crazy. $9 or more for a thin bottle of juice is wild. If it was the same volume of liquid as I usually get when I order a large at my other juice spot, then sure I'll spend $9-$12 on a fresh pressed juice but this was way less juice and it was bottled already, not made fresh right then and there like my regular juice spot. Very little indoor seating here as well, had to go bake outside in the sun on rusty hot metal chairs and tables too after spending $80 here for one lunch for two locals who unfortunately will not be going back here again when other establishments spots charge less and give more toppings and larger portions for less, with more seating and more attentive staff. read more

I expected a different onion soup - cheese melted over the edge of a crock, fat crouton atop the broth - but received an artist's rendition instead with fresh mozz floating amongst salad croutons. This was a cute little smoothie place that we popped into to grab a quick breakfast. I got the peanut butter acai bowl. It reminded me of Juice Generation's PB acai. I also got a latte with oat milk, which was disappointing. It was so diluted and weak that I didn't even finish it. Would I come back? Maybe, but only for the bowls and I wouldn't go out of my way. However, the prices here are quite high for what you're getting IMO. I think it's more so a cute meet up spot for aesthetic pics but not like an everyday grab my drink on the way to work spot. Also not much of a selection so if you have allergies (especially to nuts or coconuts) or sensitivities definitely look up the menu ahead of time! They also don't have a lot of customization options for their drinks. For instance we ordered some iced teas and they didn't have any options like other cafes have in the area like liquid sugar or many Torani syrups, I think they only had like 3 Torani syrup flavors. Also when asked the clerk behind the cashier she originally said no to any sweeteners at all and wasn't giving any suggestions but another worker at least offered her coconut Torani syrup but I'm allergic to coconut unfortunately. They at least agreed to agave when I brought up if they had it to add into the drinks. When we got our iced teas they were so bitter and unsweet, even with agave, it tasted like the tea had almost been burnt before it got chilled? I would try something else next time. So I've been going here for quite some time because they are one the few places around Dutchess county that provide "clean" "healthy" bites. I've been going to this small plaza for sometime now because I take my daughter to music class there. I finally decided to try Chakra Bowls Cafe and it was worth it! I had the Gypsy smoothie bowl. It was very good. I enjoyed the smoothie with all the toppings. It seems expensive ($12 for a bowl), though when you think of the ingredients it makes sense and worth it. The name Gypsy seems inappropriate however since that is the name of a group of people. Not sure what the smoothie bowl has to do with that. Let me start by saying that I have tried my hardest to like this place, but I just keep getting let down. My first and biggest turn off is that the place is not clean. The floor looks like it's never seen a mop. God only knows what lives behind the counter. I can forgive a lot, but I try not to stick to the floor when I get takeout. Maybe that's just me. My second gripe is that the service is not great. It's so slow. Glacial. We're talking ten to fifteen minutes for a cup of overpriced black coffee. Don't get me started on the wait time for an actual meal. There is also one guy who works there who is just not nice--like you are inconveniencing him by being there! Lastly, I question just how fresh the ingredients are. I once had a smoothie bowl with frozen blueberries. Almost cracked my tooth! I've also seen someone come in with groceries from stop and shop and target. Not a big deal, but if you're advertising claims to be local and farm fresh it feels a little shady.
