I visited this spot on my weekend trip to Cold Spring and concluded my day with a stop here. It's a local, family-owned shop with some of the best ice cream I've ever had in New York. You can grab a scoop and sit by the water, enjoying the stunning scenery of the mountains in front of you, with birds flocking nearby. The ambience is made even better by the young employees, who bring a lively and welcoming energy to the place. The ice cream itself is insanely creamy, and you can taste the top-notch, real ingredients in every bite--like something straight off a farm or from a charming European town. There were 5 staff taking orders and busy working and friendly. I sampled "Maple Bacon". It contains actual pieces of bacon... hmmmm. I didn't order that. The way they put the ice cream all the way down to the bottom of the corn was great, and the volume was adequate. Although the ice cream was creamy and tasty, it was nothing special, missing like striking rich flavor, to write about compared to other good ice cream stands. All flavors were just okay for us.
