This store continued to have a big line for hours on Saturday afternoon. I tried the fig, strawberry and black raspberry which started to melt in the hot humid weather. I sampled some creamsicle and it really was the best. My friends loved the frozen sorbet, walnut chocolate. The nilla nilla flavor was more on the vanilla side. Would have loved to try a milkshake but they weren't offering that day. Seems that those who hiked in the area and locals were both patiently waiting. Very generous servings. This spot is the cherry on top after a day of wonderful hiking and gorgeous, rewarding views at Breakneck Ridge. This little ice cream shop is so cute, the ambience transports you to childhood and simpler times. We were extremely hungry after our hike, so we wound up having a very early dinner. This means that by the time we hopped over to Moo Moo's, most people were eating dinner, and so we got to skip the long line that apparently often goes around the corner--SCORE! I had the graham cracker (cup) and it was so luxuriously rich and creamy. Something about the consistency and flavor of the ice cream makes you feel and appreciate that it really is THAT fresh (aka made daily). I wish I lived closer or could pile on dozens on flavors without consequences, that's how delicious it was. Staff is very nice and generously offers both recommendations and samples. A nice treat during a stroll of Cold Spring's Waterfront. I got two scoops of the hazelnut, one of my favorite flavors. Unfortunately, it wasn't "hazelnutty" enough for me. The ice cream itself is very creamy, obviously good quality, but the flavor came off as more "just caramel" to me. Although the scoops are large, two scoops came out to $6.25 which was more than I was expecting, (Tip: Two scoops in one order is much cheaper than two separate 1-scoop orders.) Flavors are limited. We came here on a fall, Friday afternoon so it wasn't crowded. They have two service windows separated far from each other, which was great for social distancing. Lines marking the sidewalk help keep the crowd separated. COVID-19 precautions were observed. Overall, it was an average experience. If I'm in the area, I might return and try out a different flavor, but Moo Moo's seems to benefit more from it's location on the Waterfront than anything else. read more

The flavors we got didn't knock it out of the park, but the quality of the ice cream seems like it would make any flavor taste good. We got the caramel cashew, which was novel for me in that I never have seen cashews before in ice cream - the caramel flavor is more muted than I expected and the cashews were soggier than I would have preferred. The store itself is pretty small, the line was out the door since it was such a nice Sunday afternoon. It's pretty expensive for ice cream, but they advertise large scoop sizes. The girls in front of me got pretty large scoops. Mine was not large, but maybe cuz I got a cup instead of a cone. I got the creamsicle and gingersnap flavors. The creamsicle was tasted just like an orange creamsicle. Gingersnap was a little bit disappointing, I've had better ginger cookie ice cream. The boardwalk and Moo Moo's are also 2 small blocks away from the train station so you can relax in this area until your next train comes in. Inside Moo Moo's is a bit small and they don't offer any internal seating. This means that lines can be pretty long and cramped... but it is worth it! The ice cream here is super creamy, reasonably priced and they have load of flavors to choose from. When I was here I chose Fig because I wanted something fruity/sweet. Overall if your looking for ice cream and are taking a day trip to Cold Spring Moo Moo's is a great place to end the day. read more

They have classic flavors (strawberry, cookie dough) but also some ones that, had I had a stronger GI system that could handle more dairy, would have gotten the two-scoop option: peanut butter, nilla nilla wafer, Mexican chocolate, maple bacon.
