I was a little disappointed by the size because it wasn't exactly how I imagine "giant" to be but it was a big cookie and I'm so glad I bought it. It is one of the best cookies I've ever had! Perfectly crispy on the outer edges with warm melty chocolate inside. It's been two weeks and I still think about it. We also tried their chocolate chip pecan scone and pumpkin spiced donut which were both pretty good but if I had to recommend one thing, it's that cookie. This time around I ordered the salami and blue cheese and the roast beef special. The cheese and bread are all super fresh, but that didn't stop the roast beef sandwich from being a bit bland. The salami and blue cheese sandwich is a favorite of mine, and again was super fresh, but the sandwich was small and doesn't come with any veggies. I think the reason I am giving this two stars, and not three of four, is because of the ambiance and service. This time we waited around 20 minutes just to order our sandwiches, as there was only one person in the front, and they spent 15 minutes letting some people ahead of us sample cheese. The shop was packed, but the line was barely moving. We also saw the employees stick his nose in some mortadella and sniff it... not sure if that was a quality check but it was a bit of a turn-off. The shop itself is cute, but it has no bathroom or indoor seating, which is a must after a long car ride or hike (the area is famous for hiking). There are two outdoor tables, but they are extremely cramped. We sat down with our baby and there just wasn't enough room for us and the three ladies next to us, so my husband ate standing up. The cheese itself is quite nice and the staff is quite knowledgeable about what they products they offer. However, I like to stop here for lunch, and the lunch menu is limited to sandwiches. There are only a few sandwiches offered (maybe 5 and two specials) and they don't rotate through menu items very often, so I feel like I've tried each sandwich they offer multiple times over at this point. The sandwiches are usually quite bare and don't come with many veggies or variety. So that being said, I've been returning less because I'm a bit bored by the offerings.

It's a take out spot, so perfect to order and take on a hike or find a spot outside to take in the views. There is no seating associated with the store front. A few downsides to mention... 1. There are no prices anywhere on the sandwich menu or on the build your own card so it's a surprise when you get to the register and I wouldn't say that sandwiches are cheap. While I was there planning to visit the Italian Art Gallery nearby, I came across Cold Spring Coffee House and saw that it had great reviews, so I figured it would be the perfect place to start my day. Getting there: If you're coming from NYC, the Metro-North is super convenient. The coffee house is an easy walk from the Cold Spring train station, which makes it a great stop when spending the day exploring the town. Inside, the coffee house isn't overly decorated, but it has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I wasn't a huge fan of how close together some of the tables were, but it was quiet enough to sit. They also have a few tables out front if you'd rather enjoy your coffee while taking in the charming street. But the real showstopper here is the pastry selection! With such a beautiful display of pastries, who needs extra decorations? There were so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but I ultimately went with the Goat Cheese & Honey Danish and paired it with a medium coffee. Overall, I'm glad I added this stop to my Cold Spring adventure. I always enjoy spending time here, strolling through the town, popping into the different shops, and finding little spots like this along the way.
