Disclaimer: we went on one of the busiest long weekends in fall. The wait was quite long for lunch and was about an hour. Thankfully we were able to put down our name and wait for a text message. The service was fairly quick which helped since we were so hungry and the waiter was able to accommodate a pumpkin spice latte even though it wasn't explicitly on the menu. The overall ambiance was nice and we were sat in a cute corner on the porch. Lastly is the food. While the food was not bad, the value was not good at all. We ordered the chicken & waffles, eggplant sandwich, apple pie pancakes, omelette, pear ricotta toast and mashed potatoes. The eggplant sandwich was the most worth it but everything else had very small portions and was very lackluster. The pear toast was a singular piece of bread with a few chunks of pear on top for $18. Similarly the apple pie pancakes were just regular pancakes with half-cooked apple chunks on them. We added avocado to the omelette for an extra $2.50 and it was just little specks of unidentifiable green mush. The chicken and waffles were uninspired and the mashed potatoes were simply unseasoned. It had no butter or milk or salt which made it seem like it was quite literally just a potato that was mashed down. The drinks we got were the vanilla latte, pumpkin spice latte, chai latte and juice of the day which included carrot, pineapple, ginger, and orange. Alright spot - Nothing outstanding specifically. Seems like a restaurant that thrives on lunch/dinner menu rather than a spectacular breakfast menu. We did take a look at the lunch menu around 11AM but it was a bit too early. The food left a lot to be desired for breakfast time. Cutting 1 waffle into 4 pieces for breakfast is lowkey diabolical. The salmon patty isn't dry in the burger and the sweet potato fries are decent. I wish the sweet potato fries could be crispier since it's on the soft side. The empanadas' filling is great according to my partner since I don't eat beef but the dough is on the thick side. We love the garlic aioli sauce that comes with it. This comes with no home fries and they want 21 for this...? What... The French 75 with pear puree was not a hit either. Good attempt but this missed the mark and took the simplicity and elegance away from the classic French 75. Stopped by here for lunch while visiting cold spring. It is a nice little spot from when we were walking by, they had indoor and outdoor seating. We had ordered the provoleta, sweet eggplant sandwich and empanada. The food was ok overall. Empanada had the flavor attempt but was a bit greasy and too salty. The eggplant sandwich was very basic, needed a little more seasoning, so I dipped that in the sauce from the provoleta. The provoleta is basically a big slice of cheese, fried and smothered in sauce. I would've preferred it in smaller pieces and not softened from the sauce. Sauce was tangy and needed a little more salt as well. Service was ok. Waiter didn't seem like he wanted be there or annoyed, maybe it was a bad day for him. I've been to this restaurant for breakfast four or five times with no complaints. I went with my husband today for a late breakfast, it was crowded but we were sat inside within just a few minutes. I had the avocado toast which is consistently good with an over easy egg and the pickled onions. My husband had the traditional breakfast. We were both enjoying our food until my husband found a hair on his toast I called the manager over and he was apologetic at first and went into the kitchen with it. He then came back and basically said that it wasn't their fault. It didn't happen in the kitchen and for all he knew it could have floated through the air and landed on the toast. We both had lost our appetite at that point and asked for the check. We were done. The waitress came over and we paid and left. I know things happen but that's not how you deal with a hair in the food. He didn't offer to take the meal off the bill, just said it wasn't his fault. That's not good customer service. We're now taking a long break from the Cozy Corner Cafe. There are a lot of other restaurants to try in Cold Springs. read more

came here a few months ago on a day trip up to cold spring from the city. decided on this spot for lunch as the brunch menu had several nice options and it looked lively. they told us ~30 minute wait so we came back in 20 minutes but ended up having to wait for 1 hour total. when we were seated they told us only the lunch menu was being served. there was nothing i wanted from the lunch menu so i got an eggplant sandwich. after we ordered they for some reason decided to start serving the brunch menu and the table next to us was able to order brunch... the sandwich was awful. the eggplant slices themselves were so thin they were nonexistent and it essentially was just breading and sandwich bread. i ended up just taking the "eggplant" out and eating the bread / tomato / lettuce. the burger that my boyfriend got was average. nothing special. the place itself was cute. the bathroom lines were horrendously long. to top it off, the meal (burger and sandwich and 1 lemonade) cost $60. totally regret coming here. read more

The place is very nice and the vibe is great. Unfortunately, my Scandinavian bagel was not exactly as expected. I was told it would come on a plain bagel, but it arrived on an everything bagel instead. Also, the poached egg seemed a bit watery, so after a few bites the sandwich became messy and difficult to eat. My husband did enjoy his shakshuka very much. Had to ask for extra syrup and butter but we were given only 2 small pads of butter. The dish tasted ok but not worth the $22 price tag. My friend ordered the gravlax toast. It was tiny and about $19. I guess people come here because it's the only place on the street that serves brunch but I can't imagine ever coming back here. Was told a 20 minute wait for a table of 2, ended up waiting 45. After 30 minutes went up to the host to ask how much longer and he said "oh you have one table ahead of you" and then proceeded to seat at least 4 other groups with parties of 3 or more people ahead of us. Clearly the larger groups were prioritized because more people equals more money for them. Who cares if we were there 40 minutes before that table for 3 showed up! When we were finally seated we were at a table directly opposite the front entrance and a main walkway for the wait staff. Every time a worker would walk by (which happened about every 30 seconds) the entire floor beneath our table would tilt down. I ordered the Argentinian beef empanadas which is one of their specialties. They were just ok, nothing great but I was so hungry I powered through. About half way into the second empanada I bit down into something very hard. I immediately spit out everything in my mouth into a napkin. I examined it and was trying to figure out what the foreign object was and I realized that the empanadas had chopped olives in them and that it was most likely an olive pit fragment. The server was very nice and helpful in explaining menu items at best she could, since some items not were too common. For the food, honestly it was objectively good, home fries were well seasoned and nice they used red potatoes instead of Idaho one, though could been crisped up. Side salad was good, plenty of greens and the dressing was very tangy and savory. For the omelette itself, decent size and plenty of sausage, mushrooms and cheddar cheese to which was melted so perfectly I was able to swirl the cheese around my fork a couple of times. My husband and I were walking along Main Street and we were drawn into this restaurant as we were walking by because it smelled so good haha. Someone came outside and greeted us so kindly and we decided to have lunch here. We were so glad we did. It was also a weekday, so it was not crowded and we were seated right away. The restaurant has a very light and airy ambiance and it felt cozy as it is in it's name. We started off with Argentenian empanadas for appetizers which were small, but delicious. For drinks my husband got the tropical dream smoothie which tasted similar to a pina colada it was sweet and refreshing. I ordered an iced caramel latte which I enjoyed. I got the ribeye steak which was great; it was tender and juicy. It came with mashed potatoes which were tasty and had vegetables on the side. Good food options for Main St but crowded on weekends We came here post hike and it seemed like everyone else was there too, which didn't bode well for hungry bellies and low patience. The other people waiting were mostly crowded near the entrance. It would be nice if they had a texting system to let you know the table was ready or some other organized way to do it. Alas... they have outdoor and indoor seating. If it's not humid or hot out, outdoors is fine but otherwise indoors is more comfortable (no flies either). Overall I think the quality of the food here is better than most other places on Main St even though we weren't blown away. They have a nice little menu of salad, breakfast things, sandwiches and specials. The crispy eggplant sandwich had potential but the bread was a little hard, eggplant a bit hard to chew and the salad slim. The lemon chicken could have been more tender and the veggies less oily but it was still pretty good. Good reviews of the salad with salmon (additional $12!). Someone at another table ordered the fettuccine and that looked very creamy and the portobello burger seems like a good option too. If you like people watching this is also a good street for that... lots of people trying hard to look good, trendy, cool. Very friendly staff and I think they're trying their best. Street parking can be hard to find on weekends and holidays and the traffic cops are around enforcing resident parking and other violations. Wonderful. Delicious. Cannot wait to go back! If you go mid-day on a weekday, it's far less crowded there than on the weekends, when you should expect a line and a wait. But it's definitely worth the wait! Particular highlights were the French onion soup -- probably the best I've ever had, along with the creme brûlée, made by the owner's sister who is clearly a magical unicorn. There's so much more there; these were just standouts for our table. Cozy Corner, Main Street Cold Spring, lovely little restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. A few tables outside on the terrace make it very attractive on a sunny day. Our waiters, Stalin and Victor were professional, attentive and very pleasant. Coffee and water was brought to the table almost immediately. Parking on the street can be ( at times) difficult. Now for the food. The huge breakfast Burrito came with some greens and Pico de Gallo super duper tasty. Egg Benedict with Home made Hollandaise sauce Canadian bacon on an English Muffin muffin very yummy. Shakshuka with poached eggs in a delicious tomato, peppers and onions, spices, sauce was also very tasty. The dinner menu sounds good too. All in all a very pleasant experience. read more
