Old school vibe with a super friendly bar staff. Unfortunately no food, but otherwise a great local hangout.

I went in the bathroom, my cousin later entered the bathroom that had 3 stalls in the men's room. When we left the stalls we were asked to leave under the "bartenders" discretion before we even sat down to order anything. This establishment has a weird bathroom setup that ultimately led to me being kicked out of this place within 30 seconds. He opened the door and witnessed me washing my hands whilst being on the phone, and simultaneously my cousin was utilizing the stall. Although, he observed the scene he still kicked us out. O stars. Asked for an explanation, didn't get one. (Edited section) As I'm reading the review section after said altercation, I'm realizing that it is the same bald bartender that has kicked multiple people out of this bar for his jaded, intoxicated perspective. This needs to be made aware by whoever is next in the chain of command. He is unnecessarily making you miss out on great potential business due to his poor judgement. read more

Absolutely love it here! All the bartenders are amazing! Great service, fun vibes, awesome music and dog friendly?! Sign me up! The have a whole thing of dog toys and treats. Their local pup Zingah in his bow ties will usually be there to greet you. Always open late they don't close at random ass times like a lot of places in the area. They have so many events with free food for all the regulars. It's such a local spot. Everyone always feels welcome. Snow day? Come! Wedding after party? Come! Sports? COME!!!! Too dressed up for a dive bar? Come! In your pjs bc you're hungover? BRING YOURSELF! Jay will be in his robe lol They been around for so long for a reason. Consistently friendly and comfortable bar. Sean the bartender is very attentive with your orders and if you're a regular you're definitely going to have your pint getting set up while you make your way to the bar. They have a couple of beer snacks available behind the counter if you feel peckish. A very spacious area that can hold group meetings or get togethers and there is a ping pong table and pool table as well which are both regulation size if you're feeling up to it. There is music playing in the background but you can also request your own through the TouchTunes app. The street parking as well but you should definitely Park in the rear of the buildings. read more

Bartenders are rude, drunk on the job. One bartender kept asking to see my t*ts. This is not a fun bar anymore. Used to be nice. Hopefully someone will buy it out and replace all the employees cuz that's the worst part. Especially the extremely jealous female bartenders. Also, isn't it illegal to be drunk on the job? ******Edit******* Since posting this I've been harassed by the owner's daughter who identified herself when she sent me a friend request on Facebook and also via text. She had my review removed from google and tried to have this removed too. Now she's harassing me via social media, trying to have my account suspended. Somehow she got my number and texted me using obscene and threatening language telling me to take down my review. I'm allowed to leave an honest review. All she did was prove my point. read more

Legendary local spot. The bartenders are all rockstars that will treat you like family from the get go. It's cash only so keep that in mind before getting there (there is an ATM there). They're also dog friendly which is a big plus for us. Definitely a must visit for a late night drink. read more

This bar is somehow another Johnny's (in Boonton). Same size, game tables, everyone's over at the bar though. I guess the clientele is a bit different - more varied here - and, okay, a bit more up to date here, but still feels dated in some aspects. Came here with a friend, ordered drinks, and just observed the locals watching sports on a Saturday. Vibe is relaxed, bartender is friendly. Drinks aren't cheap, I'll note ($7 for the local pint?), which is another change from Johnny's and the main cost of a star. But I think it's a good note for those considering White House: it's not quite a dive bar, but it's definitely got local bar feel, not chain bar or restaurant-bar. Gotta fit your character. So is this a dive bar? It is old, like everything in Fishkill, the stained glass on the front door says "1874," so there is that. Every time I went during the month of April, people were having a blast, music was playing and sports were on the TV's. This is a CASH bar for folks that want a good drink, priced modestly, and served with a smile and some conversation. Anna, like Hannah but without the H was delightful as was lovely Katherine - They were easy to talk to and kept things moving. The patrons I met were friendly and loved to talk about all things Fishkill. Great place for a drink with friends or to go and make new friends. read more

It's local dive. Bartender's are good and for the most part people are good people . The weekends usually get busy.

Wow what an amazing bar! I came here with 3 buddies and let me tell you the White House lives up to its name! The bartender first asked for our ids and poured us our beers and then asked for my buddies id and didn't want to serve us and told us we had to leave, mind you the bartender was taking shots behind the bar all night and had bigger intentions with my friend being of color we then gave more forms of id to show it was real and he let it slide but that wasn't enough for him, he then told us no smoking or vaping in the building to my friend of color but when we hit the vape there was no words said, I guess only the girl buying the bartender shots at the end of the bar is allowed to get her buzz on and hit the vape. This place is a joke and if you have any friends that don't fit in the white category I wouldn't think about walking in there. The bald headed bartender is clearly stuck in his own ways and needs to get a grip, I will not be back and neither will my friends read more

Don't usually leave bad reviews but this calls for one. My three friends and I walked into this bar, walked up to bar and waited patiently to be served a few beers. The owner or what appeared to be the owner asked us for our IDs first. Ok not an issue, we give him our IDs and a military ID at that and he looks at them then looked at us stunned. He then tosses them back and couldn't believe my friend was 42 and thought he was lying and was underaged. A literal military ID that can't be faked and he had an additional driver's license to double confirm his birthdate. He then proceeds to think all of our IDs are fake as well and was like " Sorry guys you got to go now!, I can't do it, I can't do it, leave!". At first we thought he was joking and laughed, then we realized he was being serious. He didn't even have a machine to scan the IDs for authenticity to confirm his accusation. They were all clearly real and he wouldn't budge on his decision to kick us out. I was flattered we all looked great for our age but god dam I really can't get a beer?! At 34 and 42?! What an idiot of an owner, I've never experienced anything like that before in my life. We will never go back to that bar ever, what an incompetent owner. read more

Went here with friends and the babe and we had a fabulous night! itunes machine is what's up and they have a pool table (not a full one) and ping pong table, plenty of spaces to sit and drink too. Friendly bartender. But one townie who was wasted at the bar insisted on buying us drinks and then spewing his life story. He was a close talker and wouldn't let up. We had to make up an excuse to leave. That and the cash only policy would make us think twice about returning to the White House. read more

Stumbled upon this little local bar, while searching for an a bite to eat on a recent visit to Fishkill. Cool vibe with the locals, good sound system, and a nice pour on our drinks. Could have just used a little cleaning up..... all those boxes and crap just pilled up in the corners really detracts for the cool-ness of the place . A little bit pricey on the mixed drinks at $6 a pop, but otherwise a fun little stop for nip or two. read more

I went here on a whim with my friend and some of her coworkers a few months ago. It's cash only bar and the bartender advised us we could play anything but rap music, if I'm putting my money into the jukebox I'll play whatever the hell I choose not what you want to hear. If it wasn't for the good conversation I was having with my friends I would have left immediately. There was about 5 other customers there. Went to give another try. It was the same experience as the first time. Regular customers smoking in the bar. Bartenders acting like customers doing more socializing than serving drinks. If your an outsider, they regulars get pissed that your there or your in their seat and they let it be known to a confrontational state. Cash only and no tabs allowed. read more

A fun bar that is deceptively large in Fishkill. Drinks are very cheap and service was friendly. We went after a wedding in dress attire and didn't feel super out of place, I guess because of the size of our party. We got something like 8 beers for $18. There is a pool table, darts, and ping pong table. I'd stay away from the pool table unless you want the locals to beat you with a cue. We watched several regulars come close to blows by the table. I can understand the negative reviews about the customers though, I think a small group might feel out of place or unwelcome with the regulars. read more

The White House is a great local dive with stuff drinks and customers that run the gamut. Any night will have regulars playing Billy Joel, with an after party from a wedding or work party thrown in the mix. There is a pool tablr, darts and it is deceptively large. But don't let the name fool you, they do not have food, however they will allow you to bring in an order. I would suggest 11 11 which Is right next door. read more

If you're not a regular don't go here. I stopped here with my friend while we were in town visiting a friend. I sat down in a seat at the bar thinking it wasn't taken and a guy came up to me with a cigarette in his mouth (umm not suppose to do that in a NY bar) and said I was in his seat. I said I'm sorry, but I waited 20 min and no one was sitting here so I sat down. He told me he went outside to make a phone call and finish his drink. Really?! He got very confrontational with me. He told me he has never seen me in here before. I asked what that had to do with anything and he said well if you were a regular you would know that's my spot. Lol. I laughed and got up to avoid discussing this issue any further with this low life. Also no tabs and a cash only bar. Who does a cash bar only anymore? Bottom line if you're not a regular don't go in here. All the regulars give you dirty looks and the bartenders ignore you if your not a regular. Also don't use the girls bathroom. Hold it. The guys open the main door and if you try to shut it they keep pushing it open. And they walk in like they're allowed to and they stand right out in front of it. The White House is my quintessential hometown dive bar. Pool table, video golf, dart board and bourbon in mass quantities are just some of the things that make this place special. Much to the chagrin of management circa 1987, this was the bar in which I had my first drink, and thanks to the White House, I haven't looked back. Their jukebox always seem to be playing some random Aerosmith tune and the bartender is usually about three drinks more drunk than the average patron. Some local bus owning genius has even come up with a plan to get the locals from the bar back to their homes. A ride home, avoiding the DWI aren't exactly priceless but well worth the cost of a phone call. If you ever find yourself in Fishkill, after you've asked yourself the question, "what the hell am I doing here?" Grab a quick pop at the White House, and while you're there ask the bartender for the dice behind the bar. You won't be disappointed. read more

The atmosphere is terrible and the drinks are overpriced. Asking $20 for a single pitcher of sam adams boston lager is highway robbery. No music playing for much of the time I was there on a saturday night between 9 and midnight- unusual for most bars. Simply cannot recommend this bar as anything but a last resort if you are stuck on main street in Fishkill. read more
