And of course my BloodyMary We received our grilled octopus. Unfortunately it was chewy. Our server took it away to make a fresh one. She was all apologetic. To us that was no big deal. So she brought another octopus. and again it was very chewy. We gave up on having octopus. But my lobster omelette was delicious. I don't hold it against them. Because I enjoy this restaurant. Who doesn't like surprises when searching for a restaurant while traveling, FKK was a hit for all four of us. Our hostess and server were absolute delights and our entrées were huge hits. What made this especially interesting was the restaurant's well thought out limited menu with 4 or 5 additional innovative specials. Stumbled upon here on a snowy night and the food warmed us right up! It really is a cozy spot - the menu features comforting dishes ranging from nachos and burgers to penne and chicken parm. The previous Yelp and Google reviews showed a delicious salmon dish that we were hoping to see on the menu but the only fish dish was Fish & Chips. Stopped here while in the area to grab a quick snack and drink to hold us over till dinner. Located in a cute little main street area to walk around we entered on the bar side which was pretty empty - I honestly thought it was closed at first. The bar set up is small and not very comfortable since your knees hit the bar (no counter overhang) but we decided to make the best of it. The bartender was nice and hospitable. She served us waters as we debated over what to get. I ordered a Paloma and the glass was huge. It was nice and refreshing. I noticed my water had some stuff floating in it but didn't bother mentioning it since I had the cocktail. Just something to be aware of. The chicken quesadilla came out hot and fresh. Honestly it was a super big, tasted fresh, and was just what we needed. Based on the pics we saw online we expected a different atmosphere. Maybe dining outside the bar area would be a different vibe but for us this just wasn't it. The bar is connected to the restaurant and is right across from the Tomato Cafe. Nice atmosphere, smooth jazz music, and fresh flowers on the table. We were passing through on our way to Woodbury Commons and found this gem. What a find! The place was definitely "kozy", service was more than friendly, but my gosh, the Kozy Burger was just incredible. The burger was a beautifully cooked half-pound grass fed burger, with truffle aioli, muenster cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, and a touch of arugula. I was in heaven with every bite, with juices from the burger covering every potential surface area of my taste buds. There must be a criminal code somewhere for a burger to induce such a high, and I was there. I had some other things on the menu, no doubt as good as the burger experience, but I honestly forgot. That afternoon with the Kozy Burger continues to dominate my hippocampus. I've had problems retaining lots of useful information since then. With a name like Feeling Kinda Kozy, I admit I was expecting more of a coffeeshop with couches and a fireplace type of vibe, but this joint is definitely a bar. No matter, the waitress was welcoming enough, and accommodating to the fact that we had the world's most adorable child with us (even when she pulled a water glass down onto my pants). The place is family owned apparently, and the although the menu isn't going to blow your mind, they've got all the staples you'd want. We shared a burger, fries, and mozzarella sticks (and a side salad so we felt a little better about our health). I liked the ciabatta the properly cooked burger came on, and everything was tasty. If I had to pick, I'd say the mozz sticks were the overall winner. The lesson here is that fried cheese is better than things that aren't fried cheese, and Feeling Kinda Kozy makes you feel kind of cozy. read more

Hidden gem in Fishkill, NY. Im from out of town but my grandma has lived here for years and has never been here. I decided to treat her while I was in town for the day. Walked in and was surprised at how big the place was. Front portion is a bar style with a couple 2 tops and around the corner is an elevated sitting area with more intimate tables and seating. Menu is diverse with something for everyone. We ordered the burrata and prosciutto which was AMAZING. Could come with a couple more bread pieces but otherwise great. My grandma ordered the burger which was perfectly cooked and not too heavy. I ordered the baby back ribs were fell off of the bone and paired with the BBQ sauce was just what I was craving. For dessert, we had coffee which was very strong and assisted me on my 2 hour drive home. The desserts I brought home to my wife were the chocolate cake & fruit tart. She said it was interesting that both lacked sweetness and while she wasn't too impressed with the tart, she liked the cakes texture. 10/10 would recommend and give new management a try! Yep, 'Kinda Kosy' is kinda cozy. Dropped by for lunch and my first thought is that they do well with fried items. The fries and the tater tots were really well fried. Super crunchy in both instances, drained and plated next to burgers or grilled cheese. The tater tots were finished with some salt but the fries were not. I needed to sprinkle table salt on both fries plates. This was kinda disappointing. The polenta fries were again fried well, the exterior was crunchy but the interior was super bland and the flavored mayo that came with it did not help. I get that polenta is really bland to start but it really needed finishing salt and it's hard to season polenta fries when they have cooled after serving. The Empanadas on the other hand were good and worth ordering. They were filled with a beefy cheesy filling and most importantly seasoned well. I didn't need to add the cheesy sauce upon eating. Again, great job with frying. Also sampled a special burger with blu cheese, bacon, and curly fries. This burger was prepared according to my ask and seasoned well. The burger patty had a good char on the exterior with some crisp edges. The blu cheese on top was really strong so you better like blu cheese if you order. The portions on this plate were also hearty. I had 2 bites of the burger and much of the before mentioned fries remaining. I just couldn't eat anymore. My retirement luncheon was held at Kinda Kozy this time. The first thing I'm going to mention is that the staff were SUPER! The restaurant is small, we had 30+ show up and we started with a few drinks... the poor bar girl was busy but kept up with us. We really wanted to like this place, after finding so many other places closed Tuesday night, and reading good reviews of this place- but we had a very bad experience. One of the items we ordered was wings. They sent them out and 2 people in my group started to eat them and found them to be ice cold in the middle (The waitress was super apologetic and took them away to be remade). The second batch came out, and we all found them to still be ice cold in the middle. We even asked the waitress to touch the bone and feel how icy it was, but she didn't. This time we asked not to send us another batch- we didn't feel good about trying it again, and honestly worries that we could be sick from raw chicken... I've never before hoped that the food was precooked, and just poorly warmed up. ... but I'm 9 months pregnant and *really* did not want food poisoning from raw chicken. She apologized again and took them back to the kitchen. Unfortunately, we heard the staff very loudly talking about us, saying that the chicken wasn't cold at all (it REALLY was... only the outside was slightly warm), and saw them eating it though the kitchen window. Beyond that, they didn't have an item we ordered, and didn't tell us until halfway through our service. They did offer a sub item instead, but it was a little strange to find out so far into the meal. The rest of the service was fine, but I will not be going back.... The entire experience was strange, and it was very uncomfortable to hear the staff talking about us. Just tried this place a couple days ago. Make a reservation on the weekend and you won't have a long wait. The staff was kind and attentive and the food and drinks were great. Get the lychee martini! My husband, my two young kids and I shared the calamari and the mushroom crostini. Kids had pasta, my husband had the cheesesteak and fries and I had the chicken marsala! All so good! Their mashed potatoes were divine and I make dope mashed potatoes. I will say that other reviews said the place is family friendly. They are, to an extent. But no kids menu and everyone else there seemed to be on dates, so I was a little uncomfortable. (Didn't want my sometimes loud 7-year-olds to annoy them.) My husband and I were driving through town and saw this place. The name attracted us and we wanted to try it. They seated us very quickly and were nice. We ordered drinks and soup and a appetizer and then our dinners. We got the soups and an hour went by and I asked the waiter if the appetizer was coming out. He said I didn't put them on the check he only heard us order the soups. He apologized and said our dinners were coming out. About 15 minutes later our dinners came out and they were completely wrong. We ordered chicken Marsala and he brought out two chicken parm dinners. At this point it was very frustrating. We told him it was completely wrong and he said the kitchen made a mistake and will bring out the correct dinners. We asked how long it would take because we were getting antsy and wanted to leave. He said a few min and that the dinners would be free. We decided to stay. He brought out our dinners and it was bland but we were hungry at this point. He the brought out free quesadillas to take home and asked if we wanted dessert. We declined but he brought out a free dessert. He then brought over our check and the dinners were still on the bill. When we asked about it, he said I gave your free dessert and quesadillas and denied saying free dinner. We would of left before the dinners came out. We waited a total of an hour and half for dinner.
