Nonnina's has officially become our new favorite spot. Everything we've had here has been exceptional. The kale salad is an absolute must, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any pasta on the menu -- total chef's kiss. This is real homemade pasta, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Also, don't miss the parking lot right behind the restaurant. It's limited, but there's plenty of easy street parking nearby if needed. I genuinely have to resist coming here every week or I'll end up gaining 1,000 lbs purely from pasta consumption... but, honestly, it might still be worth it! read more

First time here. Was excited to hear of this place opening so had to check it out. First thing to know is there is no parking lot. It's street parking which is minimal at best. Upon walking in you have this quaint bar and view into the kitchen. We sat down in the room adjacent to front entrance. Decor was nice, dining room is small. We were greeted and seated right away. Very pleasant hostess and waitress. Our drinks were good. Hubs enjoyed his old fashioned. To start we had the special appetizer burrata toast. Really good. Entrees were the cacio de Pepe and shrimp cavatelli pasta. Hubs thought his cavatelli was delicious. I was unimpressed with the cacio de Pepe. It was just okay in my opinion. Dessert was the special. Went here with my girlfriends for dinner. It was the most fun I've had in a long time. The drinks were flowing, the Italian music playing, trying this trying that off of each other's plates. Our waitress was a real doll. I loved every inch of the decor in this place. According to my phone I took 52 pictures that night Great selection of wine. There was not one dish I did not like. We've dined at Nonnina's a couple of times, and the food has always been delicious. The service on our previous visits was also excellent, which is why this most recent experience was so disappointing. Last Sunday, we were returning from a long drive and hurried to arrive before their 9:00 PM closing time. We got there at about 8:10 PM, looking forward to a good meal after a long day, but we were turned away. There were still diners seated in the garden and a couple of people at the bar, so it was surprising that they were no longer accepting guests nearly an hour before closing. Fortunately, we went to Lopburi Thai Restaurant around the corner, which had the same posted closing time. They welcomed us without hesitation, took our order right away, and provided an outstanding dining experience. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the chef-owner deserved every compliment. Their attentive staff also earned a well-deserved generous tip. We hope Nonnina's will reconsider how they handle late-evening arrivals, as experiences like this can leave a lasting impression, even for returning customers. read more

First time here. We found the food to be very good. They have an interesting take on Italian cuisine. Although, some of the dishes didn't appeal to me. I absolutely loved my SPAGHETTINI CACIO E PEPE. The place is kinda tiny, but they do have a nice outdoor patio. Service was top notch. Super attentive. I'm obsessed. I eat here way too much since it's opened or even delivery through DoorDash is still delicious as in person. The seafood salad with the fresh shaved fennel is the perfect unique flavor that is a staple in a nonna's kitchen but I feel like never on a restaurant menu and I truly would eat it every day if I could. The service is ALWAYS amazing from the cool bartenders, the original inventor of the tiramisu espresso martini or the best waitress, Madison. Overall busy and hard to get a table sometimes! We were very excited to try the new Italian restaurant in the village! 2 of us walked in on a Friday night without a reservation and sat immediately in the bar area. The place is beautifully decorated and has a contemporary design. We each ordered a drink; the La Costiera spritz which was excellent with a unique nutty flavor and the Dolce Limone which was a sweet limoncello drink. We will certainly return for drinks. As an appetizer we had the Croquettes and those were very tasty! For dinner we had the Gnocchi Alla Norma and Cavatelli. We thoroughly enjoyed those dishes. Clearly curated flavors in each with homemade pasta. The Cavatelli was fresh and came with shrimp. The Gnocchi was good, but had some oddly large pieces of cheese mixed in. For the price it would have been nice to have a protein with the Gnocci. We did notice however that for an Italian restaurant there were some traditional elements missing. There was no included bread for the table and that would've been nice to enjoy with the leftover sauce from dinner. The dinners also did not come with salads which I usually enjoy with my Italian meals at that price point especially compared to competition nearby. The menu could also be a bit larger with some classic choices added in. It is clear the owners/operators take pride in Nonnina's and we certainly will be back to try more! read more

Nonnina's is a non-pretentious, casual atmosphere, upscale Italian cuisine restaurant. Great for date night (casual) or gathering of friends, but you can also meet up at the bar. The food is top notch, the staff (across the board - wait staff, bartenders, chefs) are excellent and work well together. They specifically ask if you have food allergies and they have gluten-free options. There is a separate bar area that does not interfere with or interrupt the dining area; and it looked like a GREAT group of people there. It's not a sports bar, so if that's your thing...this is not your place. This is not really a place to bring children (which I kinda like). This is more geared for the adult crowd. There is some parking spots dedicated to Nonnina's and some street parking. The Village of Wappingers has another great spot, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you make reservations/dine here. read more

Walk into Nonnina's and the walls assault you. Ceramic plates. Sepia photographs of someone's imaginary nonna. More ceramic plates. It's Italy as conceived by an algorithm with a Pinterest addiction, every surface screaming authenticity so loudly you can't hear yourself think. Maybe the designer received the note "MORE FLAIR" so many times that they abandoned any sense of proportion or restraint. The result is what happens when nostalgia becomes a hostage situation. Still, I wanted to believe. The Caesar salad arrived. Picture thick, sticky globs pooling under kale leaves. Then the pinsas. They call them "not really pizzas," which is technically honest and spiritually devastating. Imagine a Wasa cracker that wanted more from life but gave up. The pappardelle came out as a single organism. Not individual noodles, a mass. A beige commitment to mediocrity. One note, and that note was "nothing." The gnocchi followed suit. Soft pillows of disappointment that even supplemental cheese and pepper couldn't resuscitate. Believe me, we tried. The gnocchi did not try back. A pervasive problem is the use of wide, shallow plates. Within ninety seconds your food is room temperature. Physics has opinions about thin layers of matter on cold ceramic. Nonnina's has ignored those opinions. Here is what I wanted to say, but didn't. "Have you tasted this? Have you then walked to any competent Italian restaurant and tasted that? The distance between those two experiences should be keeping you up at night." The staff, I should note, were lovely. Patient with our disappointment. Attentive to our increasingly obvious despair. They are doing their jobs in a restaurant that is not doing its job. Maybe this is a rough launch. Maybe the kitchen finds its footing. But right now, Nonnina's is a restaurant that has confused trying very hard with trying well, and the gap between those two things is where your evening goes to die. read more

Nonnina's is an amazing add to the village of Wappingers! The food is so yummy with lots of great options. We loved the croquettes, wild boar ragù, kale Caesar, and shrimp cavatelli. All homemade pastas and delicious Pinsas great for sharing! A more elevated, cozy Italian dining experience with a really great diverse cocktail menu too. The decor is so fun and beautiful with your nonna's pictures all on the wall and beautiful plates in the main dining room that remind me of the ones my Nonna had growing up. I came here with a friend on a Saturday night and we were really looking forward to it. We ordered a bottle of wine and a couple of dishes to share. We ended up ordering another dish because the waitress told us our original choices would be enough for us but they weren't. We were still eating and our waitress came over and offered to give us a box but when we told them we weren't done, they told us that they had another reservation for the table at 7 and it was 6:45. We were really disappointed by this because we were planning on getting another bottle of wine and some desserts to share. We ended up leaving shortly after. There are too many tables for the space. Our server's rear end was mere inches from our faces as she served the table next to us. C'mon. We're not sure she had any other choice with the tables that tight. Also, the six parking spaces are not nearly enough so expect to look for street parking.
