We decided to come here for a birthday meal since we were upstate to get away from the New York City chaos and definitely glad I booked this place! Seems like in New Paltz everyone is vegan so it's nice to actually get some steak for a change! We were seated in the main room and it's super huge and green. Wish we came here while the sunset was still there so we can really intake the farmland and nearby area but it was dark by the time it hit 5/6pm in the winter! Service was great and fast. I was recommended that the espresso martini is the best but upon trying it it was super alcoholic and less espresso and the banana liqueur was interesting take. I think it wasn't my fave espresso martini but definitely packed a punch. This place is definitely super affordable compared to most I've been in the city which was a nice change and we ordered so much we were so full and had to pack up most of the items. The dishes are extremely large so come hungry. The complimentary bread was so yummy and soft- I definitely ordered some extra because the bread was amazing. For appetizers we ordered the oysters, the special beef tenderloin chili and the baked clams with the maple brussel sprouts. The oysters were fresh- super enjoyable. The chili was okay - nothing too remarkable and the baked clams were super tasty I would say as well. The brussel sprouts werent crispy on the outside but the flavoring of the apple and maple made it super addicting and it became one of my favorite dishes near the end of the meal. We also got the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and the steak frites which was cooked to perfection. Super yummy but also super filling so we did not expect the portions to be so huge. The whole menu was great and I somehow preferred the seafood over the main dishes but I definitely will come back for another meal if I'm ever in the area. It wasn't mind blowing as a meal but definitely worth it. They paid attention to detail and set up the creme brûlée perfectly and that was actually one of the best parts of the meal so thank you Henry for hosting my partners birthday and would glad to come again! read more

Henrys is temporarily closed. and may remain this way for a while...I came to learn this property, Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa is in foreclosure. Be cautious when booking rooms and/or spa treatments. The owner Robert Pollack defaulted on a bridge loan in attempt to build a new spa which stands as just a shell of a structure for over a year now. And owes over 7 million in prior mortgages. Quite a sad situation for such a beautiful property. See reviews on tripadvisor as well before booking this location. Better to stay away. read more

Check the menu first. The ambiance is fantastic, inside and outside. We event got chased by some geese while taking a selfie with the nearby pond. The menu is tasty but limited. Also the portion sizes are exceedingly frugal, especially despite the high price. The service was fine, quite friendly for a bed and breakfast. We had a few dishes. The pizza was totally fine - ours was a bit overdone but certainly within acceptable variance. The French onion soup had a tasty covering of burnt cheese and that portion size was fine. It should have come with a complementary (in terms of flavor) slice of bread. We ended up using the pizza crusts. The Mac and cheese was a grade better than the box kind, but the kitchen apparently refused our request to add additional vegetables. So it's too tangy and rich for picky eaters and didn't even have the marginal benefit of whatever roughage vegetables that are put into other dishes. Finally, the sides on the omelette were really stingy. Despite the price, the side of potatoes was maybe one fourth of the potato .. and considering the cost of a potato, onion, and peppers and the price they charged, it really should have included a lot more. Otherwise the omelette had an interesting fig jam inside which came out well. read more

I love the vibe of the restaurant and bar. The decor is very cool. Brunch service was great. I had the Henry's Feast, everything was prepared nicely but by the time I got the dish, the food was a little cold. All the flavors were there though. Our server was wonderful and attentive. We went on a Wednesday night for dinner and there were more staff than there were patrons. The drinks are amazing as we each had 2 of their specialty cocktails. For appetizers I had carpaccio and my wife had the kale and Brussels salad. Both outstanding. For dinner we had the steak frits with truffle fries. Cooked perfectly and the crabmeat stuffed shrimp which was excellent. Dessert was one of the best crème brûlée I have had. While it's not cheap you do not feel like you're overpaying due to the quality and taste of the food. Wish we knew they had outdoor seating as it was a bit chilly inside for my wife. The views are just very calming and pretty, Definitely recommend it for its good views and good food, especially if you are staying at the inn. My wife had been here many years ago with her girlfriends and spoke highly about it so I decided to go there for her birthday. It was appalling bad. My wife got the salmon which she said was awful, I had the chicken parm which I truly believe was prepared in a microwave. The breading was moist and the chicken tasted like rubber. It came with a side of pasta prepared in garlic and oil, perfect, except they then topped it with marinara sauce. Who does that???? Great to return to Henry's at the Farm after a long absence. Bar and dining room beautifully redone and decorated; patio seating delightful on a not-too-hot summer evening. Staff greeted us warmly on arrival and Marc Mazzarulli, Restaurant Director, could not have been more accommodating. More (amazing) focaccia to soak up the delicious marinara? Right away! What a huge disappointment! As long time patrons, we were anticipating a lovely brunch on a dreary day. Instead, we were met with mediocre food and terrible customer service. We presented our waiter with a $230.00 gift card for our $60.00 bill, and because their computer could not locate our gift card in their system, the manager deducted our meal from the card, but would not honor the remaining balance of $170.00 He further insulted us by refusing to give us the gift card back! Dinned here on a Friday night. The place is very lovely with the decor being calming and very pretty. Our waitress Amy was very attentive and so nice. My husband and I enjoyed our appetizers, seafood in an Asian sauce and French onion soup. The French onion soup was especially delicious. Our entrees of salmon and pumpkin ravioli were also tasty. Absolutely beautiful! I was in a really bad mood the night I visited here. I really did not deserve to be at such a great place, with delicious food and very kind and professional service. I really wish I could just go back and tell myself to enjoy this moment. The atmosphere was calming, quiet and very comfortable. The food was outstanding. Gasp, what do you mean I didn't review this place months ago when I had their great French toast for brunch. Oh, the shame spiral... Well, for the last two nights I've had some really great food and exceptional service from this place. The jamon croquettes were never going to make a photo when they were that yummy. Also not going to photograph the risotto because...well... that's like your friend who is pretty in person but looks like Mr. Ed in photos...no. But the coconut shrimp, house salad, and Madagascar vanilla bean creme brulee along with the hot toddy contributed to the best sleep ever and some formation of cellulite while sleeping I'm sure. read more

Had New Year Day dinner here as a group of 4. There was a nice ambiance, and all the tables were well distanced. The food was good, me and my friend ordered the catch of the day which was a salmom special with crabmeat inside, and veggies on the side. We also got 2 bottles of wine between the 4 of us and really took our time to enjoy the night. Our server was very sweet and gave us a bottle on the house due to some minor delays. Overall great time! I would recommend for a special night out as it is a little pricey but very enjoyable. read more

We went to Henry's last night and it was an overall great experience. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, but since it was such a nice evening we opted to sit outside on the porch. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening. We started our meal by trying three appetizers, including the tempura cauliflower, which was a unique and delicious dish that I would highly recommend. I also HAD to try the watermelon cucumber cocktail which was delicious and perfect for a nice evening outside! For my main course, I ordered the sea bass and was really impressed by both the presentation and the taste. The fish was cooked to perfection and the accompanying sides complemented it really well. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which added to the overall experience. We had not been to Henry's in quite awhile and we will definitely go back - especially this summer as the porch and the whole experience was really lovely. read more

This restaurant is located in quaint Milton. The building is surrounded by luxuriant grounds inhabited by many ducks. The second story restaurant is very nicely decorated. I especially loved the lighting. The excellent food matched the excellent look of the restauant. We started with a salad, rabbit loin wrapped in bacon and the flatbread. The fresh warm bread and butter was good too. The entrees were warm when they arrived to the table. I would recommend them to all. The favorites were boar sausage and papadelle, mahi mahi and chilean sea bass. The desert was the flourless chocolate cake and blueberry crisp. All delicious. The wait staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The only suggestion I would have would be to hire valet to park the cars. Located on a really cute Inn Henry's at the Farm is the perfect spot for some great food and drinks. I sat at the bar and had a Caesar Salad and then a Lamb Leg. Each was presented very well and tasted great! I also topped it off with a martini and they even had stuff blue cheese olives to top it off The vibe there is very cool. I went alone so I sat at the bar looking to make friends. The bartender wasn't extremely chatty, but I had a very interesting conversation with another person at the bar that I lost track of time and the place was closed! We chose Henry's because of the farm to table concept. The grounds are beautiful, they put a lot of thought into making this a spa/B&B/Farm to table restaurant. The restaurant is another area that is close to all of the large colleges. If you're in town, Henry's at the Farm should be a must stop with your family. If you're in town with no kids, I highly recommend this romantic restaurant. When my wife and I were first dating, we both loved the Beer Cheese Soup at a local restaurant on Long Island. To see Keegan's Ale Cheddar soup on the menu, I knew I'd be starting with this dish. The soup ingredients are directly from the farm. The soup was rich and decadent, just a perfect starter to what's coming. I ordered the pan seared duck breast with purple sweet potatoes. First off, what type of frankenstein monster was created to make sweet potatoes purple? They tasted like sweet potatoes, the purple color was trippy! Love them, something new. My duck dinner was amazing. I said Duck season fire! Man, kudos to the chef. What was brought to me was a perfectly cooked duck dinner that was not overcooked. We're both pretty full at this point. The waiter comes over and says dessert? I start to say I'm good but he says we have a spectacular homemade butter pecan ice cream. He can also make a sharing plate of the 4 ice cream flavors of the day. Sounds great! What are the other flavors? Pear sorbet. Yeah yeah?? Um... Mushroom and Green tomato. What?? Ewww.. He says nah, trust me. The mushroom is sweet. The mushroom was sweet, the green tomato was just that and not very fun. The butter pecan was all that and then some. Henry's on the farm? I had a great meal, it was a very enjoyable experience. Next year, I'm going to book our weekend stay at the B&B. read more

Amazing dining in the Hudson Valley. We sat down and looked at the menu and where pleasantly surprised by the choices. We then realized that it was only the specials for the evening. Service was spot on and the food was excellent. My wife and I split 2 appetizers. Henry's salad and a crab and lobster salad with chopped up fruit and veggies. Both dishes where perfect complements to one another. For the entree my wife had the Halibut with risotto. I enjoyed the rack of lamb with broccoli and potatoes. A wonderful evening. read more

Service was great! Drinks were good but the food was .... ehhhh. We liked the truffle fries appetizer. My husband got the burger and fries. The burger was good but fries had no seasoning; no salt and pepper, nothing. I got burrata ravioli which was gross and $10 more than a wagyu burger. The mushroom was slimy and burrata had a weird texture and I love burrata. It also wasn't warm and we didn't get our meal until the table who came in after us was almost finished with their meal. We placed our order as they were seated for time reference. I should've said something about the meal but didn't want to be rude. I only ate one ravioli and the rest of the plate was untouched so I kinda thought they'd notice but whatever. Hoping once the renovations are done, the food will go back to being good. We came to the Buttermilk Inn and Spa for our 25th anniversary and decided to have dinner at Henry's. The first night, I had the Truffle Frites and my wife had the Autumn salad. This was followed by Wild Mushroom Ravioli and the Double Breasted Chicken. The next night we had the Veggie Flatbread followed by the Apple Cider Glazed Salmon. Both nights we had the Flourless Chocolate Cake. The food was incredible and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I will admit it isn't cheap, but, wow, those were meals to remember! read more

I'm usually not sure about restaurants at a setting like this. But Henry's is one of the best local farm to table restaurants I've been to, outside of a major city. We stayed at Buttermilk falls inn for two nights and we came here both nights for dinner. The portions are large to generous, and really well executed (things like steak were cooked perfectly). There is a good beer and wine selection to compliment. I was very pleasantly surprised - to the point where this restaurant is really the first thing we think about when we think of Buttermilk Falls. Perhaps the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. We had a reservation at 7:15. We had to wait for our table to be set by hostess (who also seemed to be the busser and food runner) and by the time we were seated there was a line of people waiting behind us. We then waited at least 30 minutes for a server to even come to our table. She did not greet us or tell us her name. No specials were presented. Instead she gruffly said "I'm just going down the line - tell me what you want." We placed orders for drinks, appetizers, and entrees. No one ever came to our table again. We finally left around 8:15 - a full HOUR after we arrived - and we were only ever served tap water. To top off the horrible service and experience, they allowed someone to bring their dog through the dining room. The dog was served it's "drink" before we were and that was the final straw. We ended up having a nice meal elsewhere and do not plan to return here again. It's too bad because I remember this restaurant being lovely in the past. read more

They served us a completely burnt cauliflower and the server walked by with it saying he was taking it home after we sent it back! In a Tupperware! Completely disorganized, unprofessional, and terrible service. Do not go here. There are way better restaurants with way better service, food and everything beyond. The bartender was very nice but that's about it. They said there was no manager to talk to. The absolute worst. No one checked on us throughout. Save yourself and go somewhere else. Bravo! This recently opened restaurant is on the grounds of the stupendous Buttermilk Inn and Spa. Chef Paul has used the locally sourced beef, chicken and other staples and combined these with veggies, garnishes and herbs grown on the expansive property, creating a refreshingly delicious menu. We ate there both nights of our stay and found the food, drinks (infused vodka and mojito using garden fresh herbs) and staff to be entirely captivating. Although the outdoor deck only sports three tables, the view over the twin ponds just adds to that relaxing and satisfying atmosphere. Can't wait to go back! read more

We came her for our anniversary dinner a few weeks ago, and it was the first place we've been to so far in the Hudson River Valley that deserves the hyped farm-to-table distinction. Our food was amazing - delicious and beautifully plated, the music, decor, atmosphere was all great. My only (somewhat snobbish) complaint is that the staff wasn't well-dressed or well-trained enough to make me feel like I was in a fancy restaurant. Also the tables and chairs in the outdoor seating area looked really cramped and uncomfortable, which is a shame because the surroundings are gorgeous and I really want to sit outside next time we go! Still, there were llamas (alpacas?) and fireflies and an old cemetery and I am in love. We will definitely be back. read more

This a fantastic place for food! The steak tartar is "NYC steakhouse" good!! The tomahawk steak is absolutely scrumptious & will feed a small village. The pizza is above average. All in all the food is a hands down winner! The cocktails are hit or miss, sadly. Great place for a meal! read more
