Blue Pointe is one of my favorite places for a special celebration. Their birthday cards is one of my favorite hospitality touches. Whether you're celebrating or just looking for a nice dining experience, they won't disappoint. The service and food are a perfect matched for the beautiful dining experience. Best brunch in the area too! Awesome variety and the buffet is nicely set and serviced well.

Stopped by for a business dinner and it was an amazing experience. We were sat right doen right away and we were seated outdoors the weather was perfect with the view of the river. Its a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. The food was excellent well prepared and was made perfectly cannot ask for more than that! Definitely will return!

Beautifully set on the Hudson down on the waterfront of Newburgh. The restaurant provides a nice environment for an evening out with someone special. This was my first time visiting many have raved about the brunch and happy hour so we were curious about their dinner service. We ordered some drinks an appetizer and meal. The price was extremely more than we expected to pay for the quality of what we received. The King crab legs were unseasoned and tasted as though they were freezer burned. The grilled sea bass was tender and flaky but the sides left much to be wanted as it was laid on a bed of ramen. Lobster dip appetizer was delicious creamy with nice chunks of meat. Both drinks were good but it seemed I paid more for the presentation of them as the fog over the Hudson is presented in a case with an actual rolling fog as they open it to present to your table. Novel idea but wouldn't order again. The staff was lovely great attention to our table and very helpful. Typically travel to shadows on the Hudson which I found out is the same owner so was taken back by the price discrepancy between the two restaurants. We will give happy hour a shot but most likely will not be returning for dinner.

Fantabulous! The ONLY PLACE IN NEWBURGH I GO TO when I'm feeling to be social. All my business meetings are there which is great as I live the atmosphere. This time though the service was horrendous and I'm grateful Michael stepped in to get this sorted out without making a scene. But I feel like folks shouldn't have to get APE SHIT in business attire to get someone to serve you at least a drink of Sauvignon Blanc. Only two glasses which is wild that it would take someone so long to bring through. Among other misses and the absolutely rude waiter who stepped in a few times (green blue eye goblin). Anyway. If they could work through culture you'll see how many more meetings will pass thru there. Talking with an Italian passport and real hair on my head because I feel a little tension every single time I've been there otherwise...

So I recently took my parents to Blu Pointe to celebrate their 52nd anniversary. I made a reservation for 5 including my 2 children. Now, my mother is a vegan. It's very difficult for her to go out to eat unless it's a vegan place. However, the view here was beautiful and when I called I asked if they could accommodate her dietary needs. They said they would be able to. The restaurant is beautiful and lively. If you're coming here for dinner, make sure you get a reservation. Even with one we waited about 10 minutes. That's ok but we would still be waiting for a table without a reservation. For the food. It was excellent. For an appetizer, we got crab cakes, French Onion soup which contains beef broth, two of their vegan dishes which were the Beet Salad and Eggplant Caponata. All were very good though my mother said the Eggplant was a bit salty. For main courses, they made my mother a pasta dish with roasted vegetables. She said it was very good. My father had the Steak Au Poivre, I had the fettuccini with shrimp, my daughter had the Lobster Mac and Cheese, I also ordered the Blu Point Sushi Roll, and my son ordered off their kids menu and had chicken tenders and French fries. It was all really good. For dessert, my mother just had coffee with almond milk. I had the sticky toffee cake, my father had the crème brûlée, my daughter the cheese cake and my son chocolate ice cream. Again, all really good though the ice cream scoop was really really tiny. We were not charged for it but I'm not sure if it's because they gave a "kids" size. The service was excellent. The waitstaff was attentive, polite, and kind. It was some of the best service I had. The place was very very busy so I was surprised how efficiently and gracefully the waitstaff worked. I can say on this day the service was excellent. Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely. Especially if it's for a date or a special occasion. But I'm going to warn everyone to please make reservations or you'll probably be waiting a while for a table.

Blu Pointe is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in the Hudson Valley -- it's been our go-to for celebration dinners for the past decade. Service here is always impeccable, and the views of the Hudson, Mt. Beacon/Fishkill Ridge, and the Newburgh-Beacon-Bridge can't be beat. Their menu does rotate, but they do have a few legacy items that stick around, including their "regular" seafood selection, which we've always enjoyed. A few oysters on the half shell or a whole tower--both (or any option in between) are excellent choices for seafood lovers. I'm a huge fan of their espresso martini, while husband loves their cappuccinos, which (usually) are served with a cute (and practical) rock sugar stirrer. The Blu Pointe roll is another menu mainstay that I'd recommend, and the lobster mac and cheese never disappoints - it's always a hit with our boys. Tips: - If you plan on dining here during a holiday week (so the big ones + things like Mother's Day, for example), make your reservations early. They do have online reservations, but I've had better luck calling. - For the best views, ask for a table on the terrace.

View from the patio...hard to believe we were eating I the open air on November 1!

The food, the service, and the atmosphere at Blu Pointe were all excellent. We dined on the patio and as luck would have it, we had a beautiful unseasonably warm November evening, so the wall of windows overlooking the Hudson were open. The photo included was taken from our table. The service was attentive and professional. And the food was delicious. We enjoyed the cheese plate as an appetizer. I had a cod puttanesca special, and my husband had the swordfish entree. We enjoyed glasses of a French Picpoul which was among several white wines available by the glass. We were really glad we came here while visiting the area for the weekend. If you plan to visit here on a weekend night, know that the restaurant and bar appear popular. We made a reservation about two weeks ahead. Please note that you may need to pay to park in the metered lots across the street, as their adjacent parking lot is small and shared with another restaurant. The cost was nominal and the pay stations accept credit cards. We had no trouble finding a spot at 5:30 on a Friday.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant after seeing photos of guests seated along the water and reading about the fresh seafood, I'm just not sure if we came on an off day and ordered the wrong thing. Pros: The appetizers are HUGE. We ordered two appetizers without the knowledge that the serving size could easily be a meal, so when our plates came we were in disbelief. We even mentioned to the waiter "We wish you warned us that the appetizers were this big, because this was way too much for two people." The raw oysters were also fresh, clean & a good size. Cons: While the raw seafood was fresh, we are unsure if the cooked seafood dishes were previously frozen. We had ordered the king crab legs as a main course - something we hadn't tried in the past. The amount of crab seemed decent for the price, but since we had never had this we had no way of knowing if it was as fresh as it should have been. The crab was rubbery and dry (a common indicator that seafood is overcooked), had no flavor (concerning since crab should be slightly sweet) and had a cleaning chemical like smell to it. Some legs were better than others, but overall don't know if this was a normal experience or if the crab just wasn't good quality. The calamari appetizer was meh, the squid itself felt overcooked and rubbery as well as the sauce being completely overpowering with a pickled flavor. The service was great and always felt as if we were taken care of with constant water refills, immediate serving of complimentary bread, and different staff asking us if we were doing okay throughout the meal. Disappointing meal, but would definitely try again and order some of the more popular offerings to see if the experience is better!

This is a very elegant restaurant right on the river . I think if we were given a better table we would have opted to stay . We ordered a glass of wine , both were lovely . The bread on the table was absolutely delicious . For an appetizer we ordered the angry lobster lollipops. It came with 3 , for the price I was hoping for 4 . They were a little well done but tasty .

Beautiful location on the Hudson with amazing food! We went to celebrate my wife's birthday in August 2023. It's a large restaurant with lots of tables inside but it was a cool enough night for us to dine on the outdoor deck right on the water. Cocktails to start, and they made very good margaritas. We started with the burrata, super fresh and tasty. For our entrees, we chose South African lobster tails (with Yukon Gold potato, spinach & garlic herb butter) and New York strip steak (cooked perfectly, medium rare as requested). The tails were delicious and fresh; the steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender. We followed with the NY cheesecake, and it came out with Happy Birthday written in raspberry sauce. Service, food and views of the river were sublime and we'd love to return next time we travel upstate. Thank you, Blu Pointe, for helping make her birthday special!

My husband made reservations here for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Blu Pointe is located right on the Newburgh Waterfront. It's a fine dining and intimate experience, perfect for a special occasion or date night. They have an outdoor bar and patio for a nice casual dinner and drink or a few different rooms in the dining area. They seated us in a room with a beautiful panoramic view of the Hudson River. The service was impressive. Our waiter made some wonderful recommendations based on our dietary restrictions. They brought us some incredible gluten free bread that was fresh from the oven with a black salt butter that was delicious and complimented the bread well. Based on recommendations we ordered for drinks a skinny margarita and a Charred Citrus; for our appetizer we ordered the lobster escargot and their Brussels sprouts. We were also informed that the lobster escargot will be added to the daily menu soon due to the high requests for it. For our entrees I ordered the Sea Scallops with a sub of asparagus for the creamed corn; my husband ordered the branzino and subbed spinach for the potatoes, our daughter had a sirloin steak and her boyfriend had the blackened swordfish. All of the dishes were delicious. The tomato jam over the sea scallops was just the right combination of spices to complement the sea scallops. We all finished our meals. We didn't have dessert as my daughter had a carrot cake waiting at home, and our waiter informed us that we could have brought it and had them bring it out and serve to us. We said we would remember that for next year. We will definitely be back to enjoy Blu Pointe again.

On a trip to Colorado, Kihlmire visited a shop that featured an abundance of books and records. He came up with an idea to open a similar shop that would also feature craft beer. Kihlmire initially opened The Vinyl Room by himself in Wappingers Falls. In addition to beer, records, and video games, customers could also enjoy pizza by ordering it through a special window that connected to the Wagon Wheel next door. Although the concept was well-received, the small space and constraints from the landlord limited the full potential of the business. In July 2021, it moved to a new space at 344 Main Street in Beacon. Customers could order food from Roma Nova across the street. Unfortunately, the space was still too small and the owners received numerous noise complaints from apartment tenants upstairs. In August 2023, The Vinyl Room moved down the street to 393 Main Street to their third (and hopefully forever) location. For the latest version of the business, childhood friend Kane Licari came on board as a partner. This also marks the first time that The Vinyl Room features a kitchen with their own food. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, rice bowls, tacos, wings, and various bar bites. In addition to craft beer, the bar also serves wine, craft cocktails, and mocktails. I recently visited The Vinyl Room for lunch with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. Any place that features craft beer, records, and classic arcade cabinets sounds like Heaven to someone like me. I really liked the whole vibe of the interior with the industrial design and all of the pop culture and music references. My sons and I grabbed a booth and looked over the menu. For food, I had the "Crunchy Chicken Bowl" (sushi rice, pickled onions, avocado, arugula, charred corn, chili garlic crunch, creamy garlic sauce), my older son had the "Grilled Cheese" (Vermont white cheddar, havarti, slow roasted onions, roasted garlic butter, sourdough), and my younger son had the "Return of The Mac" (smoked gouda Vermont cheddar cream, buttery breadcrumbs). We were all very happy with our choices! To drink, I had a draught pour of Upward Brewing's "Summer Camp" (Helles Lager). After finishing our delicious meal, I scrolled through the impressive record collection. Then we all headed downstairs to have a blast in the arcade. Before leaving, I enjoyed a pour of Equilibrium Brewery's "Tidal Balance" (Double IPA; collab w/ Sand City Brewing). We all had such a fun experience at The Vinyl Room and we hope to return in the future!

Good choice for food, although it wasn't cheap. Bill w/tip was $100. I think having a server on staff for all hours would be a good decision for TVR to make, in order to TCB !

The main theme seems to be fresh fish, seafood, and it seems fresh everything else. (Confirmed that they get fresh shipments daily). With reservations for 9 at 6:30 on a Monday, where many places are closed, we walked into a fully booked restaurant. Our giant table stood out amongst all the other full tables that were in various stages of dining. So, we took up a decent amount of the restaurant space. A reunion with family and so were happy to talk and have some bread, and drinks while they were wrapping up their other patrons also enjoying themselves. The main purpose seemed to be to time taking our orders in a way that they would come out properly. As the food came out, it was one wonderful dish after another. I could name and describe eschar one, but fresh and flavorful is the best way. I can imagine that at the time when we arrived that the kitchen was hopping. The chefs seemed to focus very well on each individual order, so of course it took some, but not excessive time. As it took a little while to start we also were not rushed out. Perhaps if we had gotten there at 5 then I suppose we might have been moved along some, since restaurants need to get some turnover at the peak hours, we were happy to offer some well rewarded patience, which was reciprocated with polite, warm, service and great food. This is a regular place for locals who know what they like. It is well worth putting some effort in to explore the various foods and drinks offered, as they were all exceptional. So, I must give it 5 stars. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is unique and actually stunning, especially during daylight where you are overlooking the Hudson and into the mountains across the river.
