Here's the deal. This location is a true gem on the Hudson River in Newburgh, New York... Great in the warmer months for some outside patio dining, and bar area. The internal restaurant does a great job on service and also has a variety of quality item menus great for a date, a special occasion or a group dinner

We discovered the best restaurants near West Point were by the riverside were all in Newburg. This was one perfect dinner place to celebrate our son's West Point Acceptance day. Even though we didn't have reservations for a Saturday night dinner outing, they were able to accommodate us with little wait. The ambiance was perfect, great night lights and spacious. The menu items were reasonably priced, good choices. Service was overall excellent. We had the grilled branzino, burgers, a pasta dish, steak and some appetizer. The wine menu was also good. Will be here on over future visits next 4 years..go Army beat Navy

Excellent!!! From the drinks to the food to the service to the beautiful Hudosn River views, Blue Pointe was the place to celebrate my Birthday lunch. Every single dish was on point. I have been telling everyone how amazing my experience was and would recommend hands down. Looking forward to my next visit.

So my husband and I are here last night. It was pouring rain and they had a prom in the area as well as a few birthday parties so it was packed. However, we were able to be seated. Too bad we couldn't sit outside because the view of the Hudson is absolutely breathtaking. Nonetheless we ordered fried calamari with hot peppers and it was delicious. I ordered seared scallops which were cooked too well done, corn which was more like polenta and I don't like polenta, and grilled zucchini and squash which was decent. I wouldn't order it again though. My husband ordered steak which he said was tough, garlic mashed potatoes which were good, and creamed spinach. My stomach was very disappointed at my entree. Next time I am going back to my crab cake appetizer for my entree. This way I can order the crème brûlée which is to die for.

Blue Pointe is one of my favorite places for a special celebration. Their birthday cards is one of my favorite hospitality touches. Whether you're celebrating or just looking for a nice dining experience, they won't disappoint. The service and food are a perfect matched for the beautiful dining experience. Best brunch in the area too! Awesome variety and the buffet is nicely set and serviced well.

Stopped by for a business dinner and it was an amazing experience. We were sat right doen right away and we were seated outdoors the weather was perfect with the view of the river. Its a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. The food was excellent well prepared and was made perfectly cannot ask for more than that! Definitely will return!

Fantabulous! The ONLY PLACE IN NEWBURGH I GO TO when I'm feeling to be social. All my business meetings are there which is great as I live the atmosphere. This time though the service was horrendous and I'm grateful Michael stepped in to get this sorted out without making a scene. But I feel like folks shouldn't have to get APE SHIT in business attire to get someone to serve you at least a drink of Sauvignon Blanc. Only two glasses which is wild that it would take someone so long to bring through. Among other misses and the absolutely rude waiter who stepped in a few times (green blue eye goblin). Anyway. If they could work through culture you'll see how many more meetings will pass thru there. Talking with an Italian passport and real hair on my head because I feel a little tension every single time I've been there otherwise...

Beautifully set on the Hudson down on the waterfront of Newburgh. The restaurant provides a nice environment for an evening out with someone special. This was my first time visiting many have raved about the brunch and happy hour so we were curious about their dinner service. We ordered some drinks an appetizer and meal. The price was extremely more than we expected to pay for the quality of what we received. The King crab legs were unseasoned and tasted as though they were freezer burned. The grilled sea bass was tender and flaky but the sides left much to be wanted as it was laid on a bed of ramen. Lobster dip appetizer was delicious creamy with nice chunks of meat. Both drinks were good but it seemed I paid more for the presentation of them as the fog over the Hudson is presented in a case with an actual rolling fog as they open it to present to your table. Novel idea but wouldn't order again. The staff was lovely great attention to our table and very helpful. Typically travel to shadows on the Hudson which I found out is the same owner so was taken back by the price discrepancy between the two restaurants. We will give happy hour a shot but most likely will not be returning for dinner.

So I recently took my parents to Blu Pointe to celebrate their 52nd anniversary. I made a reservation for 5 including my 2 children. Now, my mother is a vegan. It's very difficult for her to go out to eat unless it's a vegan place. However, the view here was beautiful and when I called I asked if they could accommodate her dietary needs. They said they would be able to. The restaurant is beautiful and lively. If you're coming here for dinner, make sure you get a reservation. Even with one we waited about 10 minutes. That's ok but we would still be waiting for a table without a reservation. For the food. It was excellent. For an appetizer, we got crab cakes, French Onion soup which contains beef broth, two of their vegan dishes which were the Beet Salad and Eggplant Caponata. All were very good though my mother said the Eggplant was a bit salty. For main courses, they made my mother a pasta dish with roasted vegetables. She said it was very good. My father had the Steak Au Poivre, I had the fettuccini with shrimp, my daughter had the Lobster Mac and Cheese, I also ordered the Blu Point Sushi Roll, and my son ordered off their kids menu and had chicken tenders and French fries. It was all really good. For dessert, my mother just had coffee with almond milk. I had the sticky toffee cake, my father had the crème brûlée, my daughter the cheese cake and my son chocolate ice cream. Again, all really good though the ice cream scoop was really really tiny. We were not charged for it but I'm not sure if it's because they gave a "kids" size. The service was excellent. The waitstaff was attentive, polite, and kind. It was some of the best service I had. The place was very very busy so I was surprised how efficiently and gracefully the waitstaff worked. I can say on this day the service was excellent. Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely. Especially if it's for a date or a special occasion. But I'm going to warn everyone to please make reservations or you'll probably be waiting a while for a table.

View from the patio...hard to believe we were eating I the open air on November 1!

The food, the service, and the atmosphere at Blu Pointe were all excellent. We dined on the patio and as luck would have it, we had a beautiful unseasonably warm November evening, so the wall of windows overlooking the Hudson were open. The photo included was taken from our table. The service was attentive and professional. And the food was delicious. We enjoyed the cheese plate as an appetizer. I had a cod puttanesca special, and my husband had the swordfish entree. We enjoyed glasses of a French Picpoul which was among several white wines available by the glass. We were really glad we came here while visiting the area for the weekend. If you plan to visit here on a weekend night, know that the restaurant and bar appear popular. We made a reservation about two weeks ahead. Please note that you may need to pay to park in the metered lots across the street, as their adjacent parking lot is small and shared with another restaurant. The cost was nominal and the pay stations accept credit cards. We had no trouble finding a spot at 5:30 on a Friday.

Blu Pointe is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in the Hudson Valley -- it's been our go-to for celebration dinners for the past decade. Service here is always impeccable, and the views of the Hudson, Mt. Beacon/Fishkill Ridge, and the Newburgh-Beacon-Bridge can't be beat. Their menu does rotate, but they do have a few legacy items that stick around, including their "regular" seafood selection, which we've always enjoyed. A few oysters on the half shell or a whole tower--both (or any option in between) are excellent choices for seafood lovers. I'm a huge fan of their espresso martini, while husband loves their cappuccinos, which (usually) are served with a cute (and practical) rock sugar stirrer. The Blu Pointe roll is another menu mainstay that I'd recommend, and the lobster mac and cheese never disappoints - it's always a hit with our boys. Tips: - If you plan on dining here during a holiday week (so the big ones + things like Mother's Day, for example), make your reservations early. They do have online reservations, but I've had better luck calling. - For the best views, ask for a table on the terrace.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant after seeing photos of guests seated along the water and reading about the fresh seafood, I'm just not sure if we came on an off day and ordered the wrong thing. Pros: The appetizers are HUGE. We ordered two appetizers without the knowledge that the serving size could easily be a meal, so when our plates came we were in disbelief. We even mentioned to the waiter "We wish you warned us that the appetizers were this big, because this was way too much for two people." The raw oysters were also fresh, clean & a good size. Cons: While the raw seafood was fresh, we are unsure if the cooked seafood dishes were previously frozen. We had ordered the king crab legs as a main course - something we hadn't tried in the past. The amount of crab seemed decent for the price, but since we had never had this we had no way of knowing if it was as fresh as it should have been. The crab was rubbery and dry (a common indicator that seafood is overcooked), had no flavor (concerning since crab should be slightly sweet) and had a cleaning chemical like smell to it. Some legs were better than others, but overall don't know if this was a normal experience or if the crab just wasn't good quality. The calamari appetizer was meh, the squid itself felt overcooked and rubbery as well as the sauce being completely overpowering with a pickled flavor. The service was great and always felt as if we were taken care of with constant water refills, immediate serving of complimentary bread, and different staff asking us if we were doing okay throughout the meal. Disappointing meal, but would definitely try again and order some of the more popular offerings to see if the experience is better!

This is a very elegant restaurant right on the river . I think if we were given a better table we would have opted to stay . We ordered a glass of wine , both were lovely . The bread on the table was absolutely delicious . For an appetizer we ordered the angry lobster lollipops. It came with 3 , for the price I was hoping for 4 . They were a little well done but tasty .

It's one of those places where you can immediately tell the owners care about both the food and the overall experience. The atmosphere is beautiful. The restaurant has a classy, Great Gatsby-inspired feel with elegant décor, plenty of space, and a spotless dining area. I loved the attention to detail, and the bar area is especially charming--it's the kind of place where you could easily stop in just for a glass of wine. We started with the hummus served with warm pita bread, and it was fresh, creamy, and full of flavor. The chicken empanadas were another favorite--crispy, flavorful, and served with fresh pico de gallo that complemented them perfectly. I also enjoyed a glass of wine, and it paired beautifully with the meal. What impressed me the most was the hospitality. My daughter wanted fries, even though they weren't on the menu, and the chef was kind enough to prepare a fresh order just for her. That thoughtful gesture meant so much and really showed how much they care about their guests. The service was exceptional. The chef came out to greet us, and our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Before we left, they mentioned they have live music on certain nights, which gave us yet another reason to come back. This is truly one of Beacon's hidden gems. Go north young lady to Beacon, NY in Hudson Valley region of NYS! Labor Day 2026 out of the city…read moreescape to meet with good friends to be chosen based on value, lasting connection of unconditional acceptance for inclusion in good merriment times. It is then my heart heals. My party of six (6) adults decided on pizza. We did not wait for a table. We did not have any reservation, but entered on a whim for lunch. I have spent almost 2.75 hours travelling and suffering MTA NYC Transit weekend planned service work on a Sunday holiday weekend via MTA shuttle bus, subways A, L, 6 trains followed by Metro North Railroad to reach Enoteca Ama. My party inquired if there is a restroom for patrons' usage whom the male waiter mocked my female friend in a snide condescending tone "NO, there is none you would have to go out to do that!" Consequential, four stars and yes, there is one facility available which is relatively clean. The business name Italian literally translation means "wine repository" or "wine library," describes a local wine shop or wine. At first I thought the AMA sounded similar to AMC Theatres. The waitress was kind to take a group photo. There are no table cloth, but there are individual cloth napkins for linens. When inquiring if the bill can be divided individually our request was blatantly dismissed which ultimately it was entered in one bill for our party of six, totaling $155.70. Price is extortionate high as expected in 2026 economic stagflation era. Business cards are available for grabs. Enoteca AMA serves 12 inch, individual-sized cooked in a imported Italian Pavesi brick hearth wood fired oven which is not stated on their printed menu. Their menu is equivocate to obfuscate as it is not descriptive of the pizza ingredients. It obfuscate as it is not specific and very vague without any details. Perhaps, Enoteca Ama need a copywriter? I am very grateful for this individual 12 inch size as it is not large, but a fairly good size fit for one adult. There are many options for pizzas. I personally find standard cheese pizza to be morbidly boring. The staff and chef or cook is very accommodating with my one person in our party specific dietary request needs of gluten free, vegetarian, no added salt. I requested cold water sustaining my thirst in addition to my libation. We were all satisfied with our respective selection of food and drink. Whereas, customer service including the resonate effects of communication is a different story. Prosciutto pizza $20.00 This was my selected pizza with Prosciutto ham, Stracciatella cheese, and arugula, NY style thin crust. I did not taste any figs. It was heavily topped with arugula which was exceedingly more the amount than average. The slices of cured ham was good. There were minimal tomato sauce. The crust was crispy, but as my standard I choose not to consume the end crust. The olive oil embedded was good. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Luna, Tuscany, Italy (red wine by the glass) $13.00 It is my favorite wine because it is medium-bodied of balanced acidity making it smooth and easy to drink with 13% ABV. At long last, I finally attained by the glass for libation immersed in full enjoyment of this smooth finish red wine. I actually taste the grape.
