Do not book an event here! Such a great restaurant that unfortunately has lost its hospitality and ambiance. Booked a private dining area for 25 people for Easter dinner with a prix fixed menu of 75 per person not counting drinks. Our dining area wasn't ready until 45 minutes after our reserved time and they only assigned one waiter and a helper to our party (they tried their best and it was totally not their fault) but it made things very hard for them with such a large party. Alexandria the event planner that I booked with didn't approach me or my party once to apologize, nor did a manager not personable at all. To top it all off they served us someone else's cake at that point I was just done with even trying to complain to someone because again not the servers fault. Do not book an event here, the food is always good but to spend over $3,000 and feel like you're a burden is crazy. Book with Cosimo's you will not regret it! Was there tonight (Thanksgiving) with family and friends. Had been going there for years and had recommended the place often. Last year Thanksgiving fell off and we decided to give the place another chance. Had 5pm reservations. By 6pm they ran out of food at the craving station. A lot of the food was cold and to top it off they ran out of dessert and for what we paid that shouldn't happen. Made reservations in September. Only saving grace was the waiter was excellent and sympathetic. Sorry to let that place go we had many good times there. They cannot handle crowds well. Don't recommend for the holidays. read more

Went there this past weekend with family. Service was excellent. The place was extremely busy. Location is perfect (of course it is, it's right on the river ;-). I thought my dinner was good (Halibut special). The menu is pricey so watch out. Two folks ordered creme brulee and they remarked that Shadows is better (I think they both have same owners). No comment. My issue are the filth of the place. The paint falling off the ceiling while you're sitting at the bar. Don't look up. The floors were not cleaned from the night before because under all the bar chairs yucky, idea please wipe the bar seat off also. I seen food on the floor and everyone who worked at the restaurant stepped on it or over it. The manager at least 40 times. I actually had to ask him to finally clean it up. Great place for brunch. I am absolutely in love with the views in this area. The view is stunning. My friends and I made a reservation for brunch on a Sunday. They seated us as soon as the whole party arrived. We got a seat outside. The brunch is buffet style. Pricey but the food is delicious, there are a lot of options. The severs were super friendly. My only complaint is the tea selection (only one option), but I am being nit picky. This is a great place for a special occasion or a celebration. read more

I went there with my family last Thanksgiving. Enjoyed it and wanted to give it a try on a regular day. So we went a few days ago. Two of us. Seated out back. Lovely day. Rowan took our drink orders. Santiago was our server and was very smooth and accommodating. Entire tab for the two of us was about $333. I put the bill on my card and I handed Santiago a $100 tip in cash. I don't usually leave 30%-plus tips but he was good, meal was good, and we had a nice time. Two days later I checked my card online and...I had a $400 charge from Blu Point. Someone there added a $67 tip on my card in addition to the 100 cash tip I handed Santiago. This is very unsavory behavior, bordering on criminal. It is not ethical-or legal-to write in the tip you wish you had been left on a customer's statement. That is for the customer to decide. And to remind: we were a party of two not 10 or 8 or 6 or 4. Clearly someone on staff was double dipping. I contacted Blue Point on social media with a photo of my receipt and I left a voicemail at the restaurant and I called again after they opened and no one answered the phone. I was all ready to do a chargeback with my bank when I called Blu Point again. This time I got Allie the manager on duty. After confirming my receipt, she refunded me rapidly but had little to say regarding how this happened aside from the fact that it was more to blame on the server than on the restaurant because "the server goes over his or her tips with the manager every day at the end of their shift." She really implied that Santiago was to blame and seemed to not understand that Blu Pointe was to blame for Santiago. Anyway, I wasn't going to belabor the issue: I got my stolen $67 back and I just will not go back there again. Their non-apology apology sucked--they took zero accountability--and I have absolutely no faith that something like this would not happen there again. I suggest anyone that does go keep their receipt copy and check their credit card statements carefully to make sure they correspond. read more

We came to Blu Pointe for our anniversary again this year. It's so beautiful dining outside on a beautiful day. I know prices went up after Covid but OMG...the prices are ridiculous! Let's start with cocktails. We ordered "Message in a Bottle ". It was ok, nothing to write home me about. I did like the dried slice of orange garnish. We ordered the lump crab cocktail. I've never had this before and it was delicious. We also ordered raw oysters. We usually order a dozen blu pointes but we ended up trying something on special. I wish I could remember what they were called but not impressed. Stick with the blupointes. For dinner I ended up having a sandwich which was one of the few affordable dishes to have. It was a swordfish sandwich with truffle fries and it was delicious. My hubby ordered a scallops dish, he said it was good but he was not raving as usual. All in all we probably will not rush here in the future. We always bring friends with us when we are trying to really show them a good time on the boat. Enjoyed a quiet lunch the other day at Blu Pointe. The food was great, as usual. The calamari in San marzano tomato sauce and aioli was a 10/10. I ordered the grilled chicken BLT which was also delicious. My lunch date had the pork tacos which were probably a 8/10 because the shell wasn't as hard as she'd like. We have been coming to this restaurant since it was Torches years ago. The fantastic chef, the staff, the fun and excellent bartenders are all gone. We are left with teeny tiny servings, filthy dishes, extremely loud music to the point where you can't hear the person next to you or hold a conversation, shoddy waitstaff. I could go on, but I won't. It was incredibly depressing upon our last visit. I never send food back, but I did this time which is not only outrageous but completely unacceptable. We were so uncomfortable. What the hell happened to Blu Pointe? I know you recently over the last few years changed hands, but this is really bad. The restaurant has gone from an amazing dining experience to a subpar American restaurant. We used to drive quite a distance to come visit, but that won't be happening again. Huge huge, huge disappointment and actually heartbreaking. We used to love to come to the dinners and events they would hold and all of this is gone now. I will say the bathrooms were fairly clean, but there was garbage on the floors and instead of getting a beautiful table setting like we used to, we were left with a knife, fork and had to go hunt down our own napkins. The waiter left us for long periods of time, and though he was nice, he didn't seem to understand a table setting. Our family was pretty shocked at the remarkable change in service and food quality. Outstanding dining experience, perfect in every way. And this is not just in comparison to the appalling one we had just had at a fancy restaurant in Philadelphia, which we were hesitant not to repeat. From start to finish this place delivered. It hadn't even been on my research list, but should have been. I saw it in the book at our inn (Cromwell Manor) of dining recommendations. I lost count of how many different people stopped by our table to take care of us: from our original waiter (Steve), to a different person who took and delivered our drinks, to other servers who brought the bread and refilled our water. Someone who looked like an owner was walking around making sure everything was taken care of, and all the staff was wonderful and seemed happy to be working there. We were not able to eat outside because of the weather, but the windows appeared to open to the water. I will also note this is the first time a request has been honored when I entered it into the reservation notes (romantic table by the water). The incredible food started with complimentary focaccia with rosemary, crunchy and chewy served with a pot of butter with delicious black salt. Next we tried the unique Lobstercargot which was divine. The wine list was endless, beautifully displayed around the bar. My husband enjoyed a drink special with cherries. Since it was a dreary day I decided to try something called "Fog on the Hudson". Imagine my delight when it came out covered, unveiling smoke! The drink itself was enormous and one of the smoothest I've had. Everything was spectacular, including the entrees. My husband loved the sea scallops with garlic mashed potatoes, and my sole francese was delicious. Somehow they were magically able to make the bed of potatoes under the filet hot enough to keep my fish warm until the last bite was gone. Even the bathrooms were lovely! Plenty of parking. Lets start by saying it took me weeks to find a restaurant to take my boyfriend to for his birthday dinner. (It was extremely difficult to find a place that was open on a week night during these COVID times). Most restaurants in this area are closed M-W. Finally came across this place, saw mixed reviews, but they have a pretty good cocktail list (my boyfriend is a sucker for a boujie cocktail) and the food looked promising, so I decided to make a reservation at 7pm on a Tuesday. We arrived a few minutes late. The place was dead. There were only 1 or 2 parties in the entire restaurant. This place is huge and gorgeous. Floor to ceiling bar, huge fireplace, lounge area across from the bar, and a separate dining room with tables overlooking the water. It was hard to see the view during the night time because of the glare from the christmas lights in the restaurant. Nonetheless, beautiful and romantic vibe. 5/5 for ambiance. The old time christmas music was a little overbearing though. Our server, Ciesar, gave me the vibe like he was in a serious RUSH throughout our entire meal. He was very polite, but it seemed like he was a newer server or something. The drinks are 5/5 here. This is the only reason why I gave 3 stars instead of 2. Highly highly recommend the island sweater weather drink (DELISH!!) Bacardi Rum, Coconut Rum, Orgeat, Grilled Pineapple, Orange Brûlée & Grated Nutmeg- OUTSTANDING !!! I also got the Gincident!!! I liked the spice factor of the sauce but it was just weird tasting with the balsamic flavor. The food was just NOT special in any way- mediocre at best especially for the price. $240 for dinner without tip. Would I come back? Not a good chance. Would I recommend this restaurant? For cocktails, yes. Not for food. The biggest disappointment for me was how the dessert was served. We asked for warm apple pie (which was on the specials menu that clearly stated apple pie with salted caramel drizzle). Ordered it with icecream on the side. THEY BROUGHT OUT THE APPLE PIE COLD AND THERE WAS NO CARAMEL ON IT. The server did heat it up promptly when we asked. But still, at least serve it like it says on the menu!!! All in all, kind of disappointed (mainly because of the food). I think they would make a killing here if they had a more unique menu. I would like to see the chef take more risks with the menu. You had to dig around to find the calamari. We ordered the seafood tower. Which was over priced ($225.00) In the seafood tower the raw tuna is sitting in some sauce, which tasted horrible. The oysters were so small like the size of a dime or nickel. The scallops were shredded like cheese curds. The colossal shrimp were huge and delicious. Could've had a little more lobster on it for the price. The butter dipping sauce had wine in it was awful. We just couldn't eat it and then the tomato cocktail sauce was bad. we had to ask for melted butter. Nice place but be careful what you order. read more

Came for our anniversary and everything was great. No wait for our reservation, waitress (I think her name was Hannah?) was so sweet and attentive. I added a note about our anniversary when making the reservation, and they gave us a cute little card for it. So cute and I've never gotten that anywhere! Food was super yummy, we got the cheeseburger and eggplant sandwich, both with fries and borne delicious. The drinks were also very good. Nicely decorated and very big. I have visited the very best bars in the world (NYC to Miami to Vegas to Asia) and Vincent is one of the very best mixologist I encountered. Go to Blue Pointe & ask him to create you a drink. Horrible anniversary experience--never again! I made a reservation over a month in advance for our anniversary, requesting a table by the waterfront. When we arrived, the hostess seated us in a corner away from everyone, despite my request being clearly noted on the reservation. When I asked if I could move to the waterfront, she said there were no tables available, yet I watched her seat several others there over the next 30 minutes. The way we were treated made us feel insignificant and unwelcome, as if our special night didn't matter. When I went back to ask again, another hostess told me that "these things are not guaranteed," which made the whole process feel pointless. We decided to leave, and when the manager came over to "help," he only confirmed my feelings by saying, "We're not that type of establishment." That comment said everything I needed to know. What was supposed to be a special evening turned into a huge disappointment, marked by unprofessionalism, unwelcomingness, and complete disrespect. We will never return. read more

I came here for the first time with my husband on a romantic dinner date, We made reservations for 7:30 as soon as we arrived we kindly got greeted then seated, we was extremely impressed about the ambiance of this restaurant being very elegant and classy. I wasted no time in ordering my first drink which was a grand mimosa made perfectly and while looking over the menu I noticed they took alot of entree off. I guess they only had Covid specials that were still out of this world delicious, I'm still thinking about my meal. For our appetizer we decided to have my favorite little neck clams, and our new addiction a checuterie cheese board that was decadent and always fun. Our steak meal for two was absolutely delectable like omg good. The steak was smoky, tender, and perfectly cooked! And the sides we had were so good too! Ultimate dining experience! The restaurant is gorgeous. Its a large venue sitting on the Fishkill Creek. The prices are definitely the waterfront taxes but it's worth it. By quick surveillance the place is perfect for large groups and celebration. Great white glove waiting staff fringing between overbearing and helpful. The food was nothing shy from great. Delicious oysters on the half shelf and it was beautifully presented. I was a huge fan of the cocktails, I wish I uber'd to try more of them. During a surprise birthday trip to New York, where my husband booked a weekend filled with activities, including the Kevin Hart comedy show "Acting my Age" eventually brought us to experience great food and amazing customer service that was a warm wrap up to the last night of my surprise birthday weekend trip.
