Ordered from UberEats so this review is only about the food! I used to work at a poke restaurant that unfortunately closed down due the pandemic and needed to find a replacement to feed my cravings. Poke Bar is the only restaurant that I'm aware of that serves kale noodles as a base so I had to order from here. First off, let me just say I'm definitely coming from a biased perspective because I really enjoyed the poke from where I used to work and nowhere has really come close in terms of flavour and ingredients. Luckily Poke Bar has very similar ingredients so I was able to build my own bowl to my liking. The bowl I ordered had the following: kale noodles, ahi tuna, salmon, chopped scallop, cucumbers, sweet onions, edamame, crab salad, masago, seaweed salad, onion and garlic crisps with ponzu sauce. The kale noodles were fine but I wish the raw fish was marinated a bit to enhance the flavour. I'm not sure if they are marinated or perhaps the amount of ponzu I got was not enough but overall it tastes quite bland. While I do appreciate how fresh the fish tasted, I had to rely on the toppings for flavour. Would I order from here again? Probably but I'll definitely be choosing a different sauce next time to see if there's any difference in my opinion.

Welcome Pokebar! The newest restaurant in Davie Village!! I walked by this place on my way to get cat food and couldn't help but notice the FREE POKE being dished out to the first 150 customers! How awesome is that? Thank you Pokebar for making my day! I'm no poke connoisseur but... As for the food, its poke, how can you go wrong? Everything was fresh and delicious and most importantly, close to home. The portions were also decently sized! You have a choice between salmon and tuna. 2 scoops. Pretty standard delicious poke. The place has plugs everywhere which is something that I am beginning to appreciate more and more from places since becoming a social media android. Not only will the poke fill you up, but they look after your electrical needs as well. Bonus points for sure. My one qualm is that in the midst of the hype they forgot my pineapple. Other than that, good stuff.

Opening at 11 am on a Sunday, the Poke Guy in downtown Vancouver serves up a variety of Hawaiian…read moreinspired flavors, all put together in a rice bowl (rather than as a mixed plate). The garlic shrimp dish is available on the weekend as the special, and was the main reason we stopped in. We ordered two of those ($16.95) plus $1 for lemonade. We also got da classic ($17.95) which has ahi tuna and salmon poke over a bed of rice. You order and pay up front, and pick up the food from the counter when your number is called. Everything was good. The ahi tuna was decent, the fresh vegetables were solid, with really good rice. The quantity wasn't huge, but would be sufficient for lunch. The garlic shrimp was really good, with corn, canned pineapple, and OK macaroni salad put together over medium grain rice. The master of flavor at this restaurant has the Hawaiian flavor down, and if we had time, I would try their Kalua Pork or their Loco Moco. Next time.

Today I came in to try their Maui ribs plate lunch…read more I got half rice, half very fresh salad greens, and instead of the scoop of corn, I got green onions. The mac salad was still perfect - not mushy, not too gloopy from too much mayo. The ribs were tasty, but the sauce was quite salty, so if you are on a salt restricted diet, this is not the dish for you. Also, I have to commend them for having decent rice - so many places have horrendous rice that I often find inedible. Other than the lack of chili pepper water, I'd say they do a decent job for a fast service Hawaiian plate lunch.

Compared to the locations on W 8th and Hornby, this location is more optimized for takeout; the seating is just stools at counters along the walls and for me the counter was awkwardly high compared to the height of the stool. It was also a little loud. If you're just getting takeout it doesn't make a difference because the food is consistent between all locations, but I would recommend the other location downtown (or the W 8th location if that's in range) for a more comfortable dine-in experience. I tried the Diamond Head pokerrito and subbed out the spicy tuna for the vegan tuna. It's still not a vegan meal if you do this because there are other seafood ingredients in the wrap, but I wanted to try the vegan tuna. It was delicious but very messy because the pokérrito is essentially a giant sushi roll and not sealed at the ends. You kind of have to keep it wrapped in the paper while you eat it but there's no graceful way to eat the ends. I really enjoyed the flavours of this even if I had to get my hands dirty though. The vegan tuna is pretty good. The texture is close enough to real tuna that I wouldn't have noticed it was different if I didn't know. I also got a tiramisu. When I ordered, the person making my order informed me that it was still frozen but it was still good frozen, like ice cream. So I decided that I'd try it and it was pretty good as a frozen dessert except the large ladyfingers at the bottom were slower to soften and hard to scoop out. The coffee soaked into the ladyfingers was pretty strong and the bitterness was a nice contrast with the mascarpone cream. Their prices are very reasonable. The pokérrito and tiramisu came out to $19.90.

Generous portion for protein and lots of options for the toppings: I got spicy tuna and salmon with mango, cilantro, pineapple, jalapeno, radish, edamame, spicy seaweed and crunchy garlic. It's also nice that they let you mix two sauces (the wasabi and super spicy one in my case).

Not a ton of toppings, but enough to put together something good. The prices are fair - the pricing is based on the number of protein scoops you want, and includes 5 veggies with unlimited sauces and standard "sides" (which are really just more veggie toppings), which is enough that you probably won't need to add on extra and bump the price up, although there are premium options like the kale noodle base and masago that cost extra. The tofu bowl that I ordered was fresh and tasty. I ordered with the kale noodle base, and they were really good (pretty stuck together at first, though), but I'm skeptical of the $2 upcharge. Overall not the most memorable, but seems like a safe option for something quick, fresh, and healthy. The shop has kind of a sterile look, but it's clean and the staff is nice.

I went with brown rice and salad leaves for the base, and added all sorts of toppings with a couple of sauces. The order was ready exactly when they said it would. Tasty enough, with fresh ingredients. There certainly was nothing remarkable about it, but it was a solid healthy option. Good spot for a casual grab n go meal made fresh.
