Lee's!
Angela C.

I was lucky enough to stop in here when there was no line - although a long line out the door formed when I exited the line! Good timing for me! I picked out 4 donuts to try, Honey Dipped, matcha, churro, and the flavor of the month - Strawberry. The Strawberry donut was a fail. It had a red icing on top, but nothing about it tasted like strawberry. Matcha and churro donuts were good, but I honestly didn't taste much matcha on the donut or icing. But the honey dip donut stole the show. It wasn't overly sweet, and the texture was different than other yeast donuts I've had. Not like a regular glaze I get at home. My whole family also liked the honey dip the best. Be sure to pick up one of these when you come here!

Good donut option in the vast Granville Public Market area. They have a huge variety of flavors. The price point was a bit on the higher side but to be expected for the area. Line was long but moved quickly.

Tasty! Line moves fast and multiple flavor combinations to choose from. Delicious pumpkin doughnuts.

While exploring Granville Market, I noticed a long line to Lee's Donuts, a small corner stall, so I had to try it myself. It sure did offer a variety of speciality donuts. I bought a variety and we ate a few right after. Their popular "Honey Dipped" was just like a glazed donut. My favorites were the German Chocolate and Chocolate Crunch. These donuts are a tad expensive than what I would usually pay for (even converted to USD) but definitely paying for the experience/hype. Gotta try it, at least once.

My chatGPT made one day itinerary included donuts at Lees. I trust AI more than people, so we gave it try. Ordered 3 for 10$. I thought the flavours were a little basic and not overly creature. We tried the honey dip and butter crunch. Both decent, but not a game changer.

I ordered the Honey Glazed / Raspberry Jam Filled / Bavarian Filled - Vanilla custard / Dutch Chocolate / Maple Iced. It was a mix of yeast and cake donuts. The flavors are mostly classic flavors you'd find at most donut shops but well executed. There wasn't one I didn't dislike. My personal favorites were Honey glazed, Dutch chocolate and Bavarian. Service was good. Employee was patient while I struggled picking flavors lol.

tl;dr the iconic honey-dipped donut is standard in every aspect beyond the premium price When it comes to iconic dishes in Vancouver, you would be remiss not to mention Lee's Donuts. This family-run, made-from-scratch bakery has operated out of Granville Island Public Market since 1979, and additional locations have popped up across Metro Vancouver. While Lee's has remained a local staple, it rose to international prominence after being featured on Netflix by David Chang and Seth Rogen. Lee's is one of countless vendors within the Granville Island Public Market. Briefly, this large converted warehouse is now home to plenty of restaurants, grocers, and specialty merchants. The Market is immediately adjacent to the marina and False Creek inlet, and the remainder of Granville Island is home to countless boutiques and art galleries. It feels like a contact sport to park on the island and find seating within the market. Within the market, the background color palette is industrial brown and grey, but many vendors add a flourish of color. Skylights shine down onto exposed rafters, and heavy-duty lighting fixtures hang from the soaring roof. No music is playing, but the metal walls echo with the din of chatter. Lee's lemon-yellow and forest-green stall features numerous cartoon donuts, and a plethora of varieties are stocked within the display counter and in the cooling racks in the back. As a self-proclaimed donut connoisseur, I walked into Granville Island Public Market eyeing Lee's iconic Honey Dip Donut. Even into the afternoon, Lee's sported a steady queue. But with brusquely efficient service, I breezed through the line. I opted for the honey-dipped, and I was surprised to find that it didn't taste any different than a standard glazed ring. Lee's donut was slightly larger with above-average dough -- but the most notable aspect was the $3 price tag. At that price, I might as well splurge on a premium donut at nearly any other shop.

We visited twice during our three days in Vancouver! The honey dipped was my favorite. I will miss these donuts since I don't live in the area. The line moves quickly and it is worth the wait. We were able to get a table outside the market to enjoy our donuts.

dropped by to try one of their donuts! Got one of their vanilla dip donuts. It was super sweet and tasty! Loved it as a nice sweet treat. Only downside is that it is a bit pricey if you're not buying a set. Cost $3.75 for just one donut.

I found out about this place because of Seth Rogen. I ended up getting 6 different flavours - raspberry jam, matcha cheese cake, ube coconut, apple filled churro, butter, and honey dipped. We enjoyed all 6 flavours! I like how it wasn't too sweet and the texture of the donuts! I cannot wait to come back again!

I am not exaggerating when I say this was the BEST donut I've ever had in my entire life. I can't wait to come back to BC just to try Lee's Donuts again. They were fresh, affordable and had so many options to choose from. The original sugared donut was my favourite! So sweet and fluffy. I couldn't get over how FRESH they all kept.

Lee's and Honey Doughnuts are my two favorite donut shops in Vancouver. I'm a sucker for a good traditional donut, and Lee's honey glazed can hold its own against any I've ever had! It's definitely a rather filling donut, compared to an airy, pillowy donut like Krispy Kreme. The other flavors, especially the filled kinds, are also good, but I never find myself gravitating to any other flavor as much as I do the original. There used to be a crazy line every time, before it expanded to so many more locations, but even then I thought it was worth the wait!

I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. I was in need of a pick me up while visiting the Gastown Steam Clock and figured I'd grab a donut from Lee's which is right across the street. There is an overwhelming amount of unique flavors and all of which I would have loved to try. I opted for the matcha and German chocolate donut and wow! I had no idea Canada was known for donuts but I can now understand why. The donuts are super light and airy which I prefer. The reason I don't care for donuts at least in the US is because they're always so dense but it was the complete opposite here. The donuts at Lee's also had a nice crispiness on the outside which added a nice texture. They are also not overly sweet and had great flavor! I especially love the location of this shop because you can do some souvenir shopping on this street and get your pictures of the steam clock. Had I known about this place earlier in my trip I would have loved to come back a second time but at least now I know for the next time that I visit Vancouver. Can't wait to come back for these donuts!

I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
