My son and I were in the area and the weather called for a picnic and we saw poke calling for us. Steve's Poké Bar is conveniently located in a strip mall. Ample parking. We arrived shortly after opening and the really helpful staff member was already filling an order. We asked a few questions about what was popular and he had 2 great suggestions for us. We got one of each. The spicy salmon and the Tuna. The names are really creative, but I forgot. He made the bowls look beautiful and delicious. We noticed how fresh and clean the place felt. The ingredients looked nice. We gave our bowls 2.5 - 3/5 stars. They were OK. Tasted a little fishy. If you've read my reviews you know we love seafood and fish is often a go-to. I am not sure if it was the seaweed or the Tuna. Hopefully, it was a one-off The 4/5 star reflects the service and the establishment as a whole.

We went to Steve's to get poke but there was a sign outside that stated no in person ordering. So we hopped on the app it stated to download and ordered our food. This wasn't the first time we've been here and it won't be the last. It's an excellent reminder of Hawaii. The only thing I would say is don't let your food sit for more than 15-20 mins before you eat. It starts to get a bit stale.

Love this place! The staff is super friendly and so helpful. They gave me samples of each of their poke, which made me get more fish! It definitely showed me how confident they are in the fresh fish and recipes. The poke was so amazing I didn't mix my ingredients up and enjoyed their flavors on the fish. Unlike other places where they flood your bowl with cover up sauces this place is fresh and delicious!!! I had the spicy tuna, shoyu tuna and spicy salmon. After my trip to Hawaii I couldn't stand tuna on the mainland but Steve's restores my faith!!!

The food was great and the flavour was very unique. We had a 50% coupon so I'm not sure if this is reflective of regular priced items... the food was decently sized but the scoops of fish were so small. It was the smallest portion of fish I've ever had compared to all the other poke places I've tried. We even paid an extra $2.50 for an extra scoop but to be honest you're better off getting sushi with that money considering how little it came with. I had pineapple in my bowl and it didn't taste very fresh, tasted like the canned pineapple and was really mushy. The sauce was yummy but so little was given in our bowl even though we customized it with all 5 sauces. Okay experience overall but very disappointed with the amount of fish it came with. Wouldnt recommend if you were to pay regular price here.

Finally a Poké bar in Surrey!! Ordered the large bowl (2 scoops $13.25) with unlimited toppings ( + premium toppings extra charge). You only get a choice between spicy mayo or shoyu sauce for the raw fish, so I hope to see more sauce options in the future! Extra bottles of Shoyu, Ponzu, and spicy mayo on the side if you like it saucyyyy The simple concept of fresh fish and typical Poké toppings arriving to Guildford Surrey, I cannot complain. #cravingssatisfied Thanks Steve and fam!

Finally, poke has arrived in the north part of Surrey! The other poke place that I know of is Island Cafe in Grandview Corners located in south Surrey. I assume we were greeted by Steve. He was energetic with the Hawaiian flare and allowed a number of us to try all the poke selection available. We sampled 6 different marinated flavours of the day consisting of tuna, salmon and scallops. We decided to create our own bowls with two scoops of poke on rice. You are allowed to mix and match the scoops of poke. There was a selection of free and additional charge toppings to choose from and then there is a sauce station to dress up your bowl some more.

Great service at the Surrey branch. The amount of food is deceptively large and the price is great!

As we entered there was already a looped line-up, scoping out the place while we waited - a fresh, bright, semi-nautical and modern atmosphere with a clean, simple feel. After about 25 minutes we got to the ordering area where we greeted with smiles and a nice welcome from the very own Steve of Steve's Poké! Super friendly guy and all the staff had good energy and smiles to make the ordering and wait worth it. We've been to his Central Surrey location (super nice staff too) and the Willowbrook Mall is coming soon but so happy this South Surrey location is now a 5 minute drive from me! Plenty of beautiful and very fresh ingredients with labels to make ordering easy. But even before you top your bowl, the rice is great - they use is a short grain and it has more of a chew/glutinous mouth feel to it. They have green salad as a base option as well. I topped my Large Poké Bowl with a scoop of Shoyu Salmon and Spicy Scallop. Good decent chunks of protein and flavoured well. Next I topped it off with beautiful toppings like seaweed salad, edamame, corn, red onion, imitation crab, and kimchi. You can add premium toppings for an extra fee like avocado, masago, tobiko, mango, etc. After you've created your bowl and pay, there's a little station for you to add your dressings for an extra kick of flavour - spicy mayo, ponzu, and sesame. The eating space can accommodate smaller and larger groups. And if you're not into making your own bowl, they have preset poké bowls so you don't have to think and they have their famous Steve's Traditional (Hawaiian) Poké Bowl - served island style. Overall, a really awesome addition to South Surrey - Welcome Steve's Poké Bar!

We came in a little before 8 and there was no one there. I had to double check with the staff to make sure they were open. Lucky for us though since no one else was there we were able to get a table for a group of 9 right away. Our server Becca was awesome. She looked after us and made sure our drinks were always filled. We decided to get the punch bowl to share. I'm just going to say that we ended up ordering 3 of these bowls and I woke up the next morning with a Top 5 hangover. These tasted like juice and I just remember my glass never being empty. I also remember having a taste of their mojito, which was delicious. As the night went on the place began to fill up and by the time we left it was packed. A musician came in at some point in the evening and performed some island tunes, which added to the fun island tiki vibe. Overall, the Tiki Bar was a ton of fun and it was a Saturday well spent. I'm so happy that we could be part of their opening night. I'd love to come back to try some of their different cocktails soon.
