As I started to bite into it, more stuff started falling out. It was packed with ingredients. They didn't skimp on the ingredients so I appreciated that. Just...very messy to eat. I ate one half, then brought the rest home. Ate the other half for dinner later. Didn't want to bother trying to hold it with my hand again. I put it into a bowl, cut it up and used a spoon to eat it. First and last time eating a Pokerrito from Pokerrito. Way too messy for my taste. I would still go back though and order something that's not a Pokerrito. The poke bowl I tried last time was quite good, and much easier to eat. Poke Shop has you pay first and then go through making it. I couldn't help but keep asking if stuff was free or not. With regards to food, it didn't felt like the other Poke locations I was going to. The quality of the ingredients felt different and in a worse way. For instance, the crab meat isn't actually scooped up like the stuff you would expect at a sushi restaurant. It's like those crab rolls dried up and diced into little bits which is pretty off-putting. The rice was also pretty mushy and underwhelming. The food came relatively quickly and the portions are still quite generous but...the sauce department was lacking. We both felt like there wasn't enough flavour to the poke, and the plain white rice was starting to overtake the delicious toppings. It was a bit different from my past experiences with the Lougheed location. Anyways, still got my poke fix, though I may lean towards trying Pokey Okey more next time haha

You can still collect points by entering your phone number on the tablet before paying. This place is a little different as it mixes the poke with some mixins and sauces before putting it into the bowl. It's a little wasteful because each time they mix, they use a paper dish and throw it away after use. The scoops of poke are smaller than other places and they weigh each scoop. Around $22 for a 3 scoop bowl. They do put a lot of rice though. You are allowed to add 1 of each topping (imitation crab meat and it's spict version can count as separate toppings so you can get both). The bowl was quite heavy after. I couldn't really taste the spiciness or flavors of the spicy aioli or the triffle garlic aioli sauces so even after mixing with rice, it tasted a little dry. The parking nearby is all paid which is a big downside. The parking meter in the lot is set 5 min earlier so you get 5 min less parking. Minimum is 15 min (which is 10 min) for 50 cents.

was at lougheed mall running a few errands with my parents when we decided to give steve's poke a…read moretry. dad was curious about poke, and since neither of my parents had tried it before, this seemed like a good opportunity to introduce them to something new. we decided to share a regular bowl and save room to sample something from another food court stall. a little food court crawl, if you will. steve's poke offers a build your own bowl concept, allowing you to customize your meal with different bases, including rice, quinoa and salad, along with your choice of proteins, toppings and sauces. there are also signature bowls if you'd rather skip the decision making process, which can be surprisingly challenging when faced with so many combinations. we ordered a regular bowl with two proteins and chose the miso garlic, wasabi mayo and yuzu sauces. the combination offered a mix of savoury, creamy and citrusy flavours, and i appreciated being able to customize the bowl to our preferences. poke is also a nice alternative to the usual food court fare when you're looking for something fresh, healthy and colourful. unfortunately, the experience didn't quite win dad over. while he was curious enough to give poke a go, he didn't seem particularly impressed. sometimes, trying something new just reinforces your appreciation for the familiar, and dad eventually gravitated back towards more traditional comfort food. at least we gave it a shot. i also tried their lychee drink, which seemed to have a floral infusion, perhaps rose water or something similar. unfortunately, it tasted a little too artificial for my liking. even after opting for reduced sweetness, it was still quite sweet, and the floral notes didn't quite work for me. this would be a pass on my next visit. on the plus side, the server was friendly, which always makes for a more pleasant experience, especially when you're introducing someone to an unfamiliar menu. another nice surprise came at checkout. i simply provided my phone number and discovered i had $5 in rewards waiting to be redeemed. i hadn't even realized i had accumulated anything, so that was a welcome little bonus. who doesn't love discovering unexpected food credits? overall, steve's poke is a convenient option at lougheed mall if you're looking for a customizable meal with plenty of choices. sharing a regular bowl worked well for us since we wanted to leave room for more food court discoveries. the lychee drink wasn't for me, and dad wasn't entirely sold on poke, but the friendly service and surprise $5 reward were definite positives. not every culinary adventure has to become a new favourite, but at least we can say we've tried it.
