Great poke inside the Brentwood food court. The price is reasonable for the portion of food you get. The fish tasted fresh and I loved the toppings. I got the ahi tuna and got every free topping there was. It was yummy and lasted two meals!

Great poke option in the new Brentwood food court. Parking is available in the free lot surround the mall, as well as the paid underground lot. Staff were friendly and helpful. They guided me through the entire custom bowl selection process which is a bit involved. The good thing is a lot of things are included with this option, such as all the (15+) non meat options, as well as sauces. Made things a lot easier. The bowl was large and filling. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. I was satisfied. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point. Recommended.

Also, it's a good idea to come after a hearty meal to fully appreciate the alcohol. As you step into this bar from the bustling streets of Vancouver, you're instantly transported to a humid, tropical paradise. The theme is all around you, and you're suddenly in Hawaii, ready to order a mai tai. We began with the mystery bowl, and each bowl comes with its own unique song and flair, making it a fun experience. Whether it's the fire, the smoke show, or the lights flashing in the background as everyone turns to see what you've ordered, it's all part of the show. Besides the bowls, be sure to order your own drinks, as they have something for everyone. Their menu is easy to read, so you can already picture the drink you're about to enjoy. Overall, this is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion with their whimsical drinks.

Way back…read morebefore COVID was in existence, my coworkers and I would grab poke pretty frequently from Steve's Poké Bar for lunch at Lougheed. We all loved having this as a lunch option because it's, well, relatively more nutritious and clean than say, burgers or fried Vietnamese spring rolls. So, my bro and I decided to give the SFU location a try and waiting in steady anticipation for our custom poke bowls. The food came relatively quickly and the portions are still quite generous but...the sauce department was lacking. We both felt like there wasn't enough flavour to the poke, and the plain white rice was starting to overtake the delicious toppings. It was a bit different from my past experiences with the Lougheed location. Anyways, still got my poke fix, though I may lean towards trying Pokey Okey more next time haha

I made my own bowl, which is always a lot of fun. First time I've had quinoa as a base, but let's give it a go! I think I went for most of the items, except for the ones where you had to pay extra. The tuna I got was fresh, as were the other ingredients. I went wild on adding sauces at the end. I designed a great concoction. I didn't get a seat at 3pm on a Thursday, so I had to walk back to campus to eat it. A quick thing I learned the hard way, if you want quinoa, use a spoon. Overall, friendliest staff I've met on campus, delicious choices, and quick service.

She then left to let us peruse the menu. We took awhile to look so we were asked at once point if we were ready and we sis we needed a bit more time so the server was delightfully accommodating and said whenever we were ready to give a server a call. Later on when we were ready our order was taken by a male staff member. We ordered a decent amount. Miso cheese eggplant, chawan-mushi, fried fish collar served in some kind of broth, 8pc nigiri omakase, blue fin tuna&uni hand cone, another hand cone but I can't remember what was in it..wifey ordered it, vegetable tempura and a black truffle dynamite roll. The highlight for me was the black truffle dynamite roll, it's taste was perfect. The right amount of truffle used and not over powering like I've had at so many other venues. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted. It was smokey, earthy and tasted wonderful. The miso cheese eggplant was delicious, slightly salty from the miso and wonderfully roasted soft eggplant. The fish colar in broth was light and delicate, beautiful flavor and texture. Chawanmushi was soft and delicate, excellently flavored. The omakase which had fish from Japan was delicious, super fresh and masterfully prepared! The tempura came with a green tea seasalt which was different but very nice. For dessert we had the green tea tiramisu which was very tasty. The restaurant itself is small but cozy and wonderfully decorated. My wife and I had a wonderful meal and I would go back for special occasions.

So I'm standing outside a Japanese / Hawaiian food truck eating Mexican tacos! How cool is that!? The braised beef is so tasty & the consomé so flavourful! You just won't stop dipping before every bite! It gets messy so ask for extra napkins! I'm hooked on these Birria tacos & will have to try their other items! Yelpies remember this is a food truck so it's rotating all over town weekly. I got to experience it down here at Joyce Skytrain Station. Fun fact - Kyu originated outta Winnipeg & made it out here to the West Coast. Japanese, Hawaiian fusion with a twist of LatinX I do say! The Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp Fries was one of a kind. The sweet and tangy sauce was actually a very interesting and nice pairing to the fries. The shrimp was bouncy and not overcooked. The Quesa Birria Tacos was the best thing of the bunch. A MUST try item! Juicy meat fillings with all the fixings, the fresh tortilla was pan fried nicely so it had nice crispness, and the secret weapon, a hearty meat jus, elevated this dish to another level.
