Poke Bar takeout totally satisfied my Poke cravings! We ordered through the PokeBar website online and got 10% off the bill The ordering process and online payment was quite easy. We can even note special instructions like half rice and half spring mix salad. We got two medium poke bowls, the portions were just right and the fish was quite fresh Since the dining area is closed during Covid19 we picked up the order at the door and this was all contactless!

One detail i really enjoyed is how they actually mix the veggies and dressing for you in a separate container before adding to the protein and rice. No other poke place has done this and it made me extremely happy!! My bowl: 1. kale noodle + kale salad 2. Spicy salmon + shoyu tuna 3. veggies (everything except for onions) 4. dressing: californian mix (house sauce, wasabi mayo, sweet chili) 5. toppings (can't remember) They also serve ramen and curry for cold weather!

Hygiene alert: Today I went to Pokebar to order a dish take-out at 5:40pm, May 13th Wednesday. One of the servers started my Pokebar order. There is a little silver bowl that they grab from a section and they slide the little silver bowl along the counter. She put salmon and tunas into the silver bowl, to pour them into my main bowl of rice. But when she did that, the bottom of the silver bowl SMASHED into my rice. I was shocked when I saw that, but said nothing right away because my mind was still processing what was happening. I told her about it and she countered, "The silver bowls are clean, they are one time use." So I said ok. But then I remembered that she slid the silver bowl across the counter once or twice, before it touched my rice. It wasn't a light touch either, the rice actually got smushed from the push of the silver bowl's bottom. (Please see my illustration). So all the germs and dirt from the counter on that bottom of the bowl is pressed on my rice. I have worked in food service before, and our managers always trained us to be very careful on food and safety hygiene! So this girl was not trained properly by the manager there, or she was sloppy and forgot, I don't know which reason. She was a chubbier Asian girl than the rest, so it's easy to spot her if you go in to order. So I stayed there to watch the other girl to see if she would make the same mistake. The chubby girl went over to her and whispered something in her ear about me, maybe something like "She's watching us, be careful with your bowl." The other girl then was very careful with her bowl, so I watched the next girl. She also was careful with her bowl, so it was only the chubby girl who made the mistake with mine. I did not feel comfortable now, and decided I would like to exchange for a new one. As I waited in line for the chubby girl to come back to me, a tall thin Chinese girl with glasses acted rude to me and said, "Can you move???" because other customers were coming in and of social distancing. I had done nothing wrong, but now that tall thin girl became a little bit rude and aggressive when I am a purchasing customer. I moved and smiled, but thought that she was out of line to treat me this way because she found it 'annoying' that I was not happy with my purchase of my dirty rice. Anyway, this review would have been 1 star, but I made it 2 stars because the chubby girl re-did my order and apologize. I don't know if she was sincere about her apology, I am sure she would just backtalk about this after I leave. But you know what? I will also write my review so the Pokebar manager and franchise will know that they need to train their staff better on hygiene and food safety. I am not one of those snobby or high maintenance customers. I am a girl who has worked in the food industry for many years and had different managers always tell us to be clean and safe with the food. This was just a very sloppy training from what I saw today. Also, I ordered a large which is 2 full scoops of rice. So the 2nd time she re-did my order, she put in 1 + 1/4 scoops because they were out of white rice. She was too lazy to fill the rest of it with brown rice or grab another new white rice. Or she did it on purpose because she was annoyed at me so she figured putting in less as a little 'punishment' at me. I notice all these little details because I was a food worker for many years and we are meticulous about giving the same amount consistently to customers. Advice to Pokebar: 1) Train your staff to be hygienic and perform the same way. All the girls poured the sashimi from the silver bowl to the paper rice bowl carefully, but the chubby girl's silver bowl bottom smashed into the rice. When she did it a 2nd time to re-make mine, I noticed she still poured it differently than the other girls. It still was slightly touching the food, whereas the other girls don't make contact with the bottom of the silver bowl into the paper bowl. 2) Train your managers to be polite and to ask about the problem. The tall thin girl barked at me to move, when she should have asked me what the problem was and how to resolve it. If she was the manager or assistant manager, she needs to work on her people skills. 3) Most likely Pokebar will ignore this review and the email I will send them, but we will see. If they reply politely and acknowledge the issue, I will update this review and let you all know what happens.

Ordered a poke salad off Uber eats/ skip the dishes and my bowl only received 4 pieces of sashimi 10/10 would not recommend this place

This place was a big disappointment, anyone who probably left a review on this place is most likely paid or a "friendly" comment. My coworkers and I placed an order and all of our bowls received 4 pieces of sashimi, and they were probably no bigger than quarter per slice. I called and complaint because I felt that it was not worth what we have paid for. They promised to give us a full refund but it's been more than a week and still no refund. I don't care too much about how much a bowl is but after receiving this order it was such a disappointment that I would rather go to Costco for samples and get full off from that lol.

I've come here about twice now and the food was excellent both times! The pricing is decent and there were lots of toppings to chose from. I would definitely recommend poke bar for anyone wanting to get some poke!

Richmond doesn't have lots of choices for Poké. This one is good. It's kinda strange the ingredients are not on the rice, yet it's good for sharing with kiddo. I can just request the cooked stuff on the rice and not mix with raw fish. A little pricy but definitely worth coming!

Back - tuna with brown rice (spicy sauce) Front - tuna with kale noodles (sweet chilli sauce)

New poke bowl place in Richmond, located inside the Central @ Garden City Plaza (same plaza as Walmart). Seating area consists of ~10-15 seating. You can choose from signature bowls or you can build your own. I ordered the Sweet Chili bowl and switched to kale noodles (+$1.50) - a small bowl comes to around $15. It is slightly pricey for the size but the amount of tuna given was pretty worth. Tuna was fresh, toppings were good, and sauce was flavourful. Would recommend coming here if you're ever craving for a poke bowl in Richmond.

For the record - I've been to Hawaii several times but never had Poke there - to my utter shock & horror! Anyway, my bro said it was the kinda looking gas station you avoid just like in the movies. Well was he ever stunned - walked in & towards the back - Poke for sale. He really hesitated but was so hungry. Good thing he caved in cause he described it as the best Poke he ever had till today! Hawaii is the originator of Poke. I'll be honest I've been a bit slow to the Poke trend. I've tried it a couple times before but what caught my eye & my appetite this time was the sandwich board outside Westcoast Poke, advertising its daily specials. My gosh the Dynamite Poke absolutely tantilzed me. Flavours were 100% on point & delivered pure joy & happiness in mouth! Most definitely top marks for WCP! Bravo for freshness, presentation & cleanliness! I've tried the Coast Poke & thoroughly enjoyed it as well - Dynamite (Prawns) Coast (salmon). Oh one last thing - it's pronounced 'pow-kay' not 'poke' as in - I poked the bear. So say it right when you order it ok!?! Keep in mind that when you walk into most Poke shops, there is a strong pungent smell of the raw fish that's served. Trust me don't go with the urge to run away, cause the taste of Poke is absolutely a hit in all the right ways. I'm going to try & make 2023 the year I go hard at healthy eating via lots of Poke! I'm going to give up on ice-cream, donuts, chocolate, alcohol, cigar smoking etcetera ... ok staaaaaap! No way Jose! Who do you think I am!?! LOL! As it's year end I'll wish everyone a Merry Christmas & plenty drinks on New Year's Eve - celebrate, celebrate, celebrate! Salut & best wishes for 2023!

Patient and friendly staff, that they take the time to explain the menu to you. Very generous portions (especially with the avocado). Lots of toppings to choose from. For example, crab salad and seaweed salad had a spicy and non-spicy option, which was my first time experiencing that on a poke menu personally. My order: Coast: my favourite of the 2 bowls I ordered - it's super saucy (burnt miso chili oil & garlic aioli sauce). The highlight was the fresh Atlantic salmon, and I really enjoyed the mangoes. The sweetness from the mangoes really ties the bowl together very nicely with an extra layer of flavour. Aloha: Ahi tuna in a lighter shoyu sauce, with seaweed salad & avocado. They also offer custom bowls, and currently have a rotation of "Poke of the Day", which is $10/bowl from their Signature selection (not sure how long this promo lasts though).

The matcha drinks and desserts were beautifully presented and tasted rich and authentic, with that deep, fragrant matcha flavor that's never too sweet. We asked every time when they will have hojicha ice cream back and staff doesn't know either. Hojicha Chestnut Shortcake, Cake is soft and fluffy, and very too sweet. It is always my favorite. This time i gave a 4 stars is because they discontinue serving Onigiri ( rice ball) and savory item. That's too bad! I love their Onigiri and ramen! When I had the chance to go to Vancouver, BC with my boyfriend I wanted to go here! First all, you need a reservation specifically for the high tea portion so we booked that ahead of time. As you go in you are led to an area of Tsujiri where there are just tatami mats and no shoes are allowed on it. We were first sat down with matcha to start with and the music surrounding us was serene and calming. Then came the high tea, compared to your usual high tea, without the Japanese fusion. This came with a lot of interesting treats. In the middle tier, there was your savory two different types of onigiri, savory rice cakes, and elevated salad with a jelly. The salad was incredible and unlike anything I've had before. The onigiris were good as they should be so was the rice cakes. Top tier and bottom tier consisted of the desserts one plate for me and one plate for my boyfriend. My favorite was the mango mochi. It was so creamy and delicious! The other dessert was solid too, I like the little mousse cake. I also liked the add on of a matcha sauce for the fruits. Tsujiri definitely transformed high tea into a Japanese version and it was well put. Both usually make me full. I do wish there was more options on savories you could have before eating the sweets, but this is a slightly different experience.
