Build your own bowl with Shoyu Ahi tuna
    Gloria F.

I came in to this location on Christmas day for some Poke The store had good distancing measures. And the staff were very friendly and helpful too! Like that they offer a variety of bases like quinoa, salad and rice The signs for Sauces and Toppings on the display case was also very helpful The poke bowls tasted fresh, I would recommend the Shoyu ahi tuna I would come back !

I ordered California poke bowl. Toppings were soggy and they added sauce. Finally, blow was very soggy. Too bad.

Also, it's a good idea to come after a hearty meal to fully appreciate the alcohol. As you step into this bar from the bustling streets of Vancouver, you're instantly transported to a humid, tropical paradise. The theme is all around you, and you're suddenly in Hawaii, ready to order a mai tai. We began with the mystery bowl, and each bowl comes with its own unique song and flair, making it a fun experience. Whether it's the fire, the smoke show, or the lights flashing in the background as everyone turns to see what you've ordered, it's all part of the show. Besides the bowls, be sure to order your own drinks, as they have something for everyone. Their menu is easy to read, so you can already picture the drink you're about to enjoy. Overall, this is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion with their whimsical drinks.

Closed on Wednesday and Thursday. I happened to be in the neighborhood recently around noon and decided to try this place. Located on Ewen in Queensborough part of New West, it is not super convenient for people living outside this area. There is no other restaurants here except maybe Frankie G about half a km away. So it is a deliberate decision to dine here, not a "oh I passed by and decided to try" thing. Street parking is available. The neighborhood is pretty quiet. The menu is on the board. It is all about the silogs. They also sell Sans Rival cakes. I think only as a whole cake and not in slices. I don't see many cakes so probably it's for pre-order? I didn't know what to order as I rarely had silogs. I remembered my Filipino coworker raving about bangsilog (fried baby milkfish) and decided to get that. The fish was freshly fried. The eggs were done as requested (over easy)and served over garlic rice. The fish was nice but had many bones. I'll skip that in future. The garlic rice was so good. Their in house hot sauce was phenomenal. Spicy and sour. The eggs were good too. The owner and other staff checked on me often to see if everything was fine. It is a very homely place. I noticed the owner (lady boss) asked a young couple if the food was alright when they were paying as she noticed it wasn't finished. She then suggested them to pack it away and got them a to go box. It had a whole motherly/auntie vibe. Many of the diners are Filipinos. That's how you know it's an authentic place. When I was laying, I noticed a basket of mini muffins. I just had to get one to try. Ube bytes (1-2 bites). At $5.95 for 6 minis, they are not cheap. They were so good! It was very sweet that I thought they added condensed milk. Nope it was sugar. Cream cheese was listed in the ingredients too. Perfect with unsweetened tea or coffee. Great place for Filipino breakfast and baked goods. I wish there is more baked stuff.

A no frills type of restaurant - service is prompt, people are quick to eat and leave, and you're always satisfied. Along the wall is the menu and you can pick up to 3 things to go alongside rice and 2 eggs (your style). This time around I opted for the tocino and lechon, and both were really good. I've also ordered the tapa and that could taste a little tough just because of the meat itself, but also a good option. The portions are quite big and I'm usually taking some home for leftovers. Protip: get sunny side up or over easy eggs so you can use the yolk as the dipping sauce too!!

You order first then find a table and the staff will call your name for the food. The workers were patient with us even though we took a while to figure out our order. We ordered one Huli Huli chicken to share between the two of us. Chicken was sweet and slightly charred but still juicy on the inside. Sauce was also slightly sweet and tasted good with the soft rice. I liked the sweet corn but the macaroni was just okay for me - not too much taste (but personally not too big of a fan of cold macaroni anyways). We also got a spam musubi (taste is as you would expect) and a shaved ice (ube, mango, and melona). It was tasty, with sweet syrup that coated every inch of ice. I'd say one main is enough to share between 2 people if you decide to get dessert or a spam musubi as well! Would visit again :)

We came in a little before 8 and there was no one there. I had to double check with the staff to make sure they were open. Lucky for us though since no one else was there we were able to get a table for a group of 9 right away. Our server Becca was awesome. She looked after us and made sure our drinks were always filled. We decided to get the punch bowl to share. I'm just going to say that we ended up ordering 3 of these bowls and I woke up the next morning with a Top 5 hangover. These tasted like juice and I just remember my glass never being empty. I also remember having a taste of their mojito, which was delicious. As the night went on the place began to fill up and by the time we left it was packed. A musician came in at some point in the evening and performed some island tunes, which added to the fun island tiki vibe. Overall, the Tiki Bar was a ton of fun and it was a Saturday well spent. I'm so happy that we could be part of their opening night. I'd love to come back to try some of their different cocktails soon.

I made my own bowl, which is always a lot of fun. First time I've had quinoa as a base, but let's give it a go! I think I went for most of the items, except for the ones where you had to pay extra. The tuna I got was fresh, as were the other ingredients. I went wild on adding sauces at the end. I designed a great concoction. I didn't get a seat at 3pm on a Thursday, so I had to walk back to campus to eat it. A quick thing I learned the hard way, if you want quinoa, use a spoon. Overall, friendliest staff I've met on campus, delicious choices, and quick service.

We all loved having this as a lunch option because it's, well, relatively more nutritious and clean than say, burgers or fried Vietnamese spring rolls. So, my bro and I decided to give the SFU location a try and waiting in steady anticipation for our custom poke bowls. The food came relatively quickly and the portions are still quite generous but...the sauce department was lacking. We both felt like there wasn't enough flavour to the poke, and the plain white rice was starting to overtake the delicious toppings. It was a bit different from my past experiences with the Lougheed location. Anyways, still got my poke fix, though I may lean towards trying Pokey Okey more next time haha
