It's not the one I would recommend but it provides a satisfactory meal. I gotta point out first that it's kinda weird coming here after going to other Poke places particularly because you pay first and then make your bowl. That's kinda weird since other stores have premium options such as wild sockeye salmon, avocado, etc. It makes you go through the line and decide if you want the good stuff. Poke Shop has you pay first and then go through making it. I couldn't help but keep asking if stuff was free or not. With regards to food, it didn't felt like the other Poke locations I was going to. The quality of the ingredients felt different and in a worse way. For instance, the crab meat isn't actually scooped up like the stuff you would expect at a sushi restaurant. It's like those crab rolls dried up and diced into little bits which is pretty off-putting. The rice was also pretty mushy and underwhelming. Fish was fine overall but that's kinda difficult to make mistakes with. I gotta be honest, my favourite thing to have here was the guacamole. It's a serviceable Poke location to have a bite at. If you're in the Downtown area and have time, I would instead recommend you take the time and exercise to walk over to a better option instead.

For toppings, I got almost all of them and I was even about to customize the base with a bit of rice, a bit of quinoa and some salad! I've had Steve's Poke Bowl at other branches, and they were so much better. Please really let your employees know that it's okay if you can't add extra ingredients, but at least add the required sauces so the bowl isn't completely dry. Hawaii is the originator of Poke. I'll be honest I've been a bit slow to the Poke trend. I've tried it a couple times before but what caught my eye & my appetite this time was the sandwich board outside Westcoast Poke, advertising its daily specials. My gosh the Dynamite Poke absolutely tantilzed me. Flavours were 100% on point & delivered pure joy & happiness in mouth! Most definitely top marks for WCP! Bravo for freshness, presentation & cleanliness! I've tried the Coast Poke & thoroughly enjoyed it as well - Dynamite (Prawns) Coast (salmon). Oh one last thing - it's pronounced 'pow-kay' not 'poke' as in - I poked the bear. So say it right when you order it ok!?! Keep in mind that when you walk into most Poke shops, there is a strong pungent smell of the raw fish that's served.
