Lunch special combo

It was so good. It's far from my home but it was worth for 3.5 hrs drive. Why we don't have this in Seattle area. Food was amazing and service was great. Will come back soon.

Seafood Pot big box
Marilyn V.

Saw postings on Instagram and thought they don't serve the traditional dishes. Came here on Family Day with a reservation and got seated right away. S1. Bambada Signature Steamed Seafood Pot (Big Box) $135: it's a rectangular chafing dish with a variety of seafood - clams and mussels mostly, abalone, scallops, shrimp, welk, squid, and a crab. This was recommended to us 6 but it was way too much. I think this size can feed 10-12. The seafood tasted fresh just boiled without much spices to it. But soup has all the flavours from the seafood that were boiled in it. It would have been better with a dipping sauce. We had so much leftovers so brought it home to add vermicelli and it was soooo good. S3. Clam Bibimbap $30: this is my first time having bibimbap this way. Its served with nori so you can wrap it yourself. It's interesting and good. S7. Bossam $42: a unique way of wrapping pork belly using round pickled radish rather than served with pickled napa cabbage leaves. Very good! D1. Deep Fried Oyster and Fries $12/5pcs: a lighter flavor compared to western style fried oysters. Not bad at all. E5. Corn Cheese $10: a simple mix of corn and mozzarella cheese served on a sizzling plate. Cheese doesn't have a distinct flavour but the sweetness of corn stands out. Bill came to about $230 for 6, quite reasonable considering the amount of seafood we had and brought home. My take: some dishes stand out, but unfortunately the big box of seafood did not and this is what we came for.

Wow, the food here is amazing. This restaurant is located on the South side of Barnet Highway. The parking lot is rather small, but there is usually a spot available. Be mindful that this place is only open for dinner. Once inside, you are seated promptly. The place is clean and the service is very good. We tried the clam bibimbap, steamed egg, and the seafood ramen. They were all very delicious, and more importantly, tasted lite. Other seafood restaurants seem to saturate their food in oil or butter or MSG, but not this place. They really bring out the natural flavors of their fresh seafood. I definitely want to try some of their other dishes in the future.

We came at around 7:30PM and there was no wait. We got the clam bibimbap ($30.00), wing and fries ($20.00) and cheese potato pancake ($21.00). We thought the food was okay. Nothing amazing. The clam bibimbap felt under-seasoned. Lots of clams but needs a bit more spice. The wings and fries were crispy but not juicy enough. The cheese potato pancake okonomoyaki didn't stick together well and was hard to serve. Overall the food was mediocre. Not worth the drive out to Coquitlam. The price wasn't too expensive and the portions are quite large. The service is pretty fast

Solid spot for a variety of Korean dishes! The clam bibimbap caught my eye and we're so glad we came by to try it. The amount of clams they gave was so generous!!! Also one note that it is a cold dish. Service was very friendly and ambiance was cute with very private booth seating/also open layout tables.

My spouse and I recently ventured to a Korean soup establishment in Coquitlam. We were eager to sample their renowned seafood soup and clam fried rice. Upon entering, we were impressed by the contemporary ambience of the restaurant, which created a pleasant dining experience for us both. Below are our impressions of the dishes we ordered. S1 - on the menu 3.5/5: The seafood soup: It exceeded our expectations with its rich, flavorful broth and generous servings of different shellfish. There were a couple of aspects that I was not satisfied with. Firstly, the shellfish, particularly mussels and clams, hadn't been thoroughly cleaned as there was some gritty texture in a few of them. Secondly, when the soup cooled down and needed to be reheated by the server, it became very concentrated and overly salty towards the end. One suggestion for improvement would be for the restaurant to offer udon noodles as a side order option. This could help balance out the bold flavours of the soup. S3 - on the menu 4.5/5: the clam fried rice. It was an outstanding dish for us and it pair well with the seafood soup. The flavour and aroma of the clam with fried rice added more flavour and texture towards the dish. The combination of the seafood soup and the clam fried rice was a culinary delight. Seafood steamed egg - 4/5: it is delicious however it tasted like other Korean restaurant's steamed eggs. I will try it if you never tried it before but I will order other dishes next time when I returned to the restaurant. Fried oyster and fries 5/5 - I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious this dish was. The fries were expertly seasoned and truly outstanding. The oysters were cooked perfectly and they had a crispy exterior with a tender, flavorful center. It was simply outstanding. Overall experience was amazing and we will come back again.

Seafood pot - small
Melody Z.

Not your usual Korean resto! It's mostly seafood based vs meat based. The seafood pot is their best seller and definitely why you go to Bambada. They have a small (what we ordered for two people) and a large. Even when we went back with four people, we still ordered the small so we could order a bunch of other things. The clam bibimbap is huge and we packed most of it to go haha. It's tasty and comes with seafood to wrap and eat. The seaweed wasn't the flavoured kind. Kinda wished it was flavoured. The fried oysters were super tasty and the fries were costco level crispy iykyk. Service is awesome. They're friendly and check in on you often. Full of locals having dinner or catching up over drinks. 5 minute drive from Coquitlam Centre and lots of parking.

Great values and taste. Can adjust the spiciness to non-spicy for the soup. Lots of parkings near the restaurant.

Seen this place in social media and finally tried it with 4 other friends to celebrate a life event occasion. We had a reservation so we got seated right away at their enclosed private dining area. Our server was very friendly and I love that she took an initiative in helping us with their menu. The fresh steamed seafood pot is their most popular dish and the reason for our visit. Seafoods we're all very fresh and tasty. The broth/soup was so so good. A bit or very mild spicy because of jalapeno. They served the big order of seafood in a chafing dish. I highly recommended this place to try especially for seafood lovers.

Went to Coquitlam for visiting a friend of mine, she recommended this authentic Korean restaurant and we dined here for lunch. Absolutely the best seafood in town, I love the bibimbap it is rich in taste but not too spicy, you wrap the clamp and rice with a slide of seaweed and put the entire thing in your mouth. I would also recommend the signature seafood dish the soup is soooo tasty!

We ordered the Big Box for lunch. More than enough my wife, my 20 yo son and myself. $135 is very good value. My wife said she probably can't buy those seafood for $135.

Hansol Korean - Beef Tartare Bibimbap

We think this is where Koreans eat when they're not cooking at home!…read more We discovered Hansol 한솔 Korean Restaurant after seeing so many rave reviews. This place, tucked away just 5 minutes' driving distance from Coquitlam Centre, is clearly beloved by the local Korean community. The portion sizes are generous. They are perfect for sharing with family or friends. We saw many families and younger groups dining in, which gave it a cozy, homey vibe. We can taste the love and comfort in every bite. Here's what we ordered: * Beef Tartare Bibimbap - Not your typical bibimbap! The raw beef was beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. This was hands down our favourite dish! * Naengmyeon - Cold noodles in a super refreshing broth. Perfectly chewy with a balanced, savoury tang. A must-have on a hot day. * Japchae - Excellent portion, great price. The noodles were springy and not greasy at all--just the right balance of flavour. Great value, quality ingredients, and authentic flavours--Hansol is definitely going on our go-to list whenever we're craving comforting Korean food. We are highly recommend it for students, families, or anyone who loves real Korean cooking! Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $30-$40 each person (dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Parking: 4/5 Tips: * Free refillable banchan (side dishes) * Must-try: naengmyeon (cold noodles) * Hidden gem: beef tartare bibimbap-flavourful and beautifully presented. * Limited seating - expect wait during peak hours * Tasty, affordable, and generous portions Would I Return: Yes ‍

I found this restaurant through an IG foodie's recommendation. This restaurant is always very busy,…read moreand on weekends, there is always a lineup. We ordered short rib BBQ, Beef tartare Bibimbap, and original-flavor deep-fried chicken wings. Beef tartare Bibimbap was served in a hot stone bowl with a variety of vegetables on top of the rice. The gochujang sauce was served separately, allowing us to adjust the spiciness to our preference. It was a pretty good dish. The short rib BBQ was very tender and nicely seasoned. It was slightly on the sweeter side, very delicious. I will definitely order it again. The original flavor deep-fried chicken wings were served fresh and hot. They were incredibly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside--very good! Next time, I should order them with a flavored seasoning, as I already knew the original version was cooked with less saltiness, meant to be paired with a sauce. Overall, I really like this restaurant. The food tasted good, and the most notable point was the reasonable price! It was a very good deal, and it has now become one of my regular go-to places.

We went on a Wednesday and it was all you can eat pork belly and marinated pork, with a soup and unlimited kimchi pancake and sides all for $30. The servers were extremely attentive in asking about refills, whether that's the rice, meats or even side dishes. A great bang for your buck for all you can eat these days. I was craving this soup and glad I tried it here because it hit the spot! Tasted delicious, didn't have to wait for a table, and it was reasonably priced then. Came back here last night for dinner with my family and was finally able to try the bbq items. It was a hit! We ordered 2 of the combo A which was the perfect servings for 2 adults and 3 (very hungry!) teenaged boys. Not only did it come with 3 meat types (thinly sliced pork belly, marinated beef Bulgogi, and one other thinly sliced beef), it also came with soup, banchan, and a big bowl of Bibimbap. We also ordered their seafood pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too thin or thick. The actual bbq grill itself was the best one I've seen at a Korean restaurant because it was non-stick, temperature controlled really well, and it didn't leave us smelling like the food after dining. The ventilation must've been good here as it wasn't super smoky at all. The best dish was definitely the bean paste soup! We all loved it and had never tried it before, so next time we have Korean, it will be a staple in our order! It wasn't too busy last night so we were seated right away. Staff were friendly and while they were short-staffed, they were quick enough to get what we requested and ordered in a timely manner.

This place is the most authentic Korean restaurant in all of Vancouver (I swear on my mother), but if you're coming here and not ordering anything of the organ-variety you've come to the wrong place. Intestine and blood sausage can be hard to approach, but with the right seasonings and preparation, these dishes really hit the spot (ESPECIALLY with drinks oh my god). Not only does the family-owned place clean every piece of meat super well so that their intestines avoid tasting gamey, but the side dishes are also really delicious. Instead of eating basic tofu stew or spicy rice cakes at a gentrified place in downtown, try out the Makchang and Soondae Soup at this place!

Unfortunately most Korean restaurants in Vancouver do not have purple rice. -Cold Noodle (14.99$, but they have a lunch special where, for 16.99$, you get two potato pancakes): At first I was hesitant to order this because I love buckwheat (dark gray/purplish colour) cold noodles, and these weren't those, but am so happy we did. I love the texture. The flavour of the broth was also excellent. My only qualm was the "cucumber garnishes" that, in my opinion, were actually too-sweet pickles. Other than that, highly recommend. Potato pancakes were also very yummy. They served complimentary barley tea, and had yummy banchans (kimchi radish, fish cake, and soy sauce pickled onions). The waitress (daughter of the owner-her mother) was very kind and patient with all my questions. Affordable, delicious, authentic, with good portion sizes.
