Korean and seafood restaurant in Korea Town Centre near Lougheed, Burnaby. Small restaurant on the 2nd floor, with light wood colored interior. Pretty busy on a random weeknight, although we didn't need to wait for a table. They have tables for Korean BBQ and regular tables without the grill plate. Ordering is done through tablet on the table. Got the 2 person BBQ set (~$95), and also the marinated raw crab ($25). Never had the marinated raw crab before, and they use some type of blue crab. It's a very strong savory flavor that helps to hide any saltwater smell, and the texture of raw crab meat is a bit like jelly. Pretty interesting, and I don't hate it. The 2-person combo is served on a wooden boat dish, and has a good mix of beef, pork (both raw and marinated), and also fish (eel) and shrimp. Comes with two plates of greens. Of course there's some banchan for the table. The BBQ tasted pretty decent and definitely enough food for 2. Overall was a decent KBBQ experience. Definitely not cheap at like $140 for two people including tips, but most Korean BBQ aren't these days. 3.5 stars round up to 4.
Really good authentic Korean food! This was my first time trying raw beef and it wasn't as bad as I thought haha. We ordered a mix of everything but I liked the seafood pancake and rice cakes the most :) would definitely come back again!
I've wanted to have marinated raw crab for so long in Vancouver, and finally got to Jejudo! Even though raw crab was our initial goal, we ended up ordering the marinated seafood combo for 2. The seafood platter had A LOT of food, then along with the rice & soup that came along, I'd say it was way too much food for 2 people. We also added a cold noodle because it was such a hot day-- which was a great choice for cooling down lol. Next time I will most likely just get a seafood bowl on its own OR just the crabs, and then add a few other smaller side dishes. We didn't finish any of the noodles or rice dishes. The soup and rice were ok-- mid at best in my opinion. The crab was what I really came for. The seafood were clean and didn't have that ocean taste at all. It felt fresh too! The marinate was definitely the highlight. It was a mix of sweet & slightly salty. It was all soy sauce though. Basically no onions, garlic or anything else added. Service was good, but not great. Our waiters were very kind when they attended to us. However, it did take them a bit long to grab us new water jugs a few times. It was surprisingly not that busy on a Friday evening. At no point were there long lines, but the restaurant was moderately full. The tables weren't huge but it was a big enough restaurant.
Walking in, Jejudo feels highly authentic. The staff and most of the customers were speaking Korean, which is usually a fantastic sign. You order directly from a tablet at the table, which makes the process quick and easy. Unfortunately, the food itself really missed the mark for me. We ordered the Assorted Soy Marinated Seafood Combo and the Hamachi Sashimi. The soy marinated seafood combo was a major disappointment. The soy marinated crab didn't have any roe. Worse, the soy marinated shrimp wasn't deveined (or at least the first one I grabbed wasn't, which completely put me off checking the rest). Both the crab and the shrimp tasted quite fishy, lacking that clean flavor you expect from a solid marinade. On the bright side, I really enjoyed the Hamachi Sashimi. It was incredibly fresh, and the slices were nice and thick. That said, a single good sashimi dish isn't enough to make up for the letdown of the seafood combo, especially at this price point. Sadly, I won't be coming back.
Came for the raw soy marinated crab after hearing about it. But it was the bbq set that was the star of the meal. Jejudo is located in a strip mall on North Road just south of Lougheed surrounded by many Korean establishments. We came in a group of six. Jejudo is not very large and they have very limited seating spaces for larger groups. We ended up waiting 45 minutes for a table as they do not take reservations on weekends and patrons often over extend their 90 minute table limit. The marinated crab was a unique experience but not something I have to return for. We ordered several dishes including the Premium BBQ Set (which included soup and seafood pancake) and kimchi fried rice. The presentation of the bbq set was impressive. The meats/chicken/seafood were all amazing...great cuts of meat. I also really enjoyed the kimchi fried rice, the seafood pancake and the soup. Everyone left full and very satisfied. It was a very positive food experience and happy to recommend Jejudo for Korean Bbq.
After searching for a restaurant in the area that serves raw marinated crab, I finally came across this spot and was so excited. Although I wasn't expecting it to be as delicious as the ones that I've had in Ktown LA, it was still pretty good. Service was very good as well. To get on the waitlist, you just scan the QR code that is on the tv screen at the door. We were quoted about an hour and a half for a Friday evening, but were able to get a table sooner. When you get seated, you order everything from the tablet at the table and all of our food and drinks arrived so quick. The only thing was that it took a bit long to get someone's attention to get our check.
I've been looking for a place that serves Korean female soy marinated crab and Jejudo did not disappoint! Every bite was delicious and I especially loved the putting rice in the shell to scoop out all the gooey goodness. Highly recommend this dish if you're visiting. I also had the male crab legs which were tasty as well, but the female whole crab is the best. I've also come here for Korean BBQ which was alright. They had forgotten to give us the veggies and salad until we asked toward the end since we didn't know it was included. By then, we had finished most of the meat. The seasoning was tasty, but I wasn't a fan of the 2 order minimum they enforced as I was hoping to try other dishes. I would recommend making a reservation if you can. It got really busy after around 6pm. Luckily there's a big Korean grocery store just below which is a fun place to pass the time.
We enjoyed our time here. It's out of the way for us but we shared the couples bbq platter and ordered a few mains for ourselves. Really nice beef bone soup and delicious spicy cold noodle. I opted for the sashimi option and it was well put together. Bottomless salads are available and we enjoyed having this with our meats. It was a nice way to cut the fat. Service was good and good ventilation so we didn't smell like bbq afterwards. Nice side dishes available too! I would come back more often if we were in the area :)
Set Menu I've been dying to try raw marinated crabs and I'm so glad I found a place that sells them in a restaurant! The crab was very soft and I would say it resembles sashimi but softer. I would say I'm not a fan of small crabs as there wasn't a lot to eat from it. The bossam was really good. It really fell apart in your mouth. The portion of everything was a lot smaller than expected. For the price of the set menu, I think I normally get a lot more food. The sashimi salad was my favourite out of the whole set. Overall, there was nothing too amazing that I would come back for. I mainly came for the marinated crabs and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't too captivating.
Why such a low star? I came in for the marinated crabs. I've had Korean marinated crab all over the Koreatowns all over the states. I've enjoyed them many times. It's rare to see them on a menu in the mainland and Jejudo was known for it. Marinated crab Cleaned well and fresh. Marinade was like sugar water with a hint of soy. It was super watered down. Where is the green onion, higher quality soy sauce, garlic, ginger, apples, peppers etc.. in the brine, I tasted none of what I've listed. This was so sad. The crab itself was "tasteless", this was like raw tasteless seafood that was cold and not much there. Imagine a scallop in a watery brine that one has to bite through for its meat. Another point I have to raise is, I didn't see they had marinated crab with roe for $38? until I've ordered. ... so for another $16 I get a female crab with roe. Bc it was so tasteless, it didn't pair with rice. It was too bland to eat by itself and none of the banchan actually paired with it. The crab dish doesn't even pair with the soup which I choose the beef as it over powered it. This crab dish wasn't even appetiser worthy. The banchan paired with the soups, the soup was better as it had good chunks of beef. However, the kimchi was plain, the seaweed was unseasoned and the daikon wasn't even lightly salted (this was just slivered dried out daikon with a raw taste). Chestnut Ricewine This was good. Overall This Marinated Crab Combo is a hard pass until they up their marinade brine game and make a hard suggestion on how to pair this with the other dishes. I'd most likely return for their sashimi/ bbq combos. I appreciate their wine list.
One of the few places to have marinated raw crabs. They are super small. However the marinade is delicious. The crab itself doesnt have much flavor so it relies on the sauce. There no option to choose with roe or without roe here. Also ordered the nengmyeon. I like that they put iced broth cubes in there. The taste of the broth is quite bland but I like tonadd vinegar and mustard anyways.
Went to Jejudo a while back to try their raw crab! I'm pretty sure that this is one of the few places (if not, the only place) in Vancouver that does it. We had one order between 2 people with around 5-6 pcs of crab, which was the perfect amount for us. The marinade wasn't sweet and had a more savoury, soy sauce taste compared to other places I've tried. I would say it compliments the crab quite well. Crab texture was as you would expect and not fishy or anything either. We also ordered a tofu soup (no spice) and pork collar. The tofu soup was a great way to help cleanse our palette after the taste of the crab and pork collar. The pork was also decent -- a sweet marinade and was chewy but not tough. Nothing overly special or amazing though. Since this is the only place in Vancouver (that I know) that does Korean-style raw crab, I would definitely come give it a try. The other dishes I would say are similar to most other places and Jejudo wouldn't be my first choice for those items. I definitely would be back if I'm craving raw crab though!
one of the original places for marinated raw crab which is super good. their beef tartare is my favorite. they recently renovated and it looks so good!

Got their Deluxe set $200 and it would easily feed 4-5 people (which is more than what the menu suggests). TIP#1: when you do order, make sure you request all the dishes (they almost didn't serve us the 2 cold noodle dishes we were allocated since we didn't 'request' it). TIP#2: don't forget that the set also comes with unlimited banchan sides. I liked both salads, pickled beans, and creamy seaweed noodles the best. Overall the meat cuts and seafood were good quality. I'm glad I tried the soy marinated raw crab (and the prawns were massive!!). It was definitely a unique try, but fussy to eat and is on the saltier side so make sure you mix it with your rice to balance it! read more
Really good food and service. They have huge tables which can easily accommodate at least a dozen people. Side dishes are plentiful and you can ask for more. In addition to regular KBBQ staples like pork, chicken and beef, their fish and seafood selection is also very big. Food is ordered through a tablet system so not alot of interactions with staff are needed. The bill can also be separated easily. Meals are a bit expensive than most other places, but on par with othe KBBQ restaurants. Prepare to pay around $25-30 for a few pieces of meat. read more
We went there for the dineout. The dineout menu was $55 per person and 2 people minimum. The amount of meat was reasonable for the price with a variety of beef, pork and shrimps as well as marinated raw crab. The set also came with a side of corn and cheese, a stew and some korean side dishes. The quality of the meat was decent for a korean bbq and the raw marinated crab was tasty as well. However, the portion sizes and quantity of the appetitzer, side dishes and desserts were interestingly off. There were only 1 corn cheese, 1 of each of the sides dishes and 1 stew for 2 people. We initally thought those dishes were combined. However, we received a small pudding as dessert with 2 spoons. We were caught off guard as we did not expect we share the same dessert between us as we ordered for 2 people Given the "shared" quantity for the dineout price. The set was in my opinion quite pricey compared to other korean bbq places. read more

I went for the raw marinated crab. I have never tried before, so I had nothing to compare it to other than my own expectations from seeing it all over online. It was $22 for the meal, which came with the crab(no roe), rice and opntion of tofu soup. I got the seafood soup, which they were great about making non spicy for me. The texture is what I expected so I didn't mind. The first bite was quite fishy tasting but the other pieces I noticed, that were more marinated,did not taste fishy at, I quite liked it. I'm glad I tried it but for myself, I don't think they hype was all it was cut out to be, but I would try it again at other restaurants to compare. This restaurant however looks like there are other yummy items on the menu that look like it's worth coming back to try and our waitress was pretty cool too. read more

Came here to try the raw crab! I wasn't sure what to expect and was surprised how much I loved it. I believe there are two options for it. I ordered the smaller one for $21 just in case I didn't love it. We also ordered a BBQ combo set for two for $88. (2). Beef Short Rib, Garlic sauce Beef Rib Fingers, Garlic Sauce Pork Jowl, Garlic Sauce Beef Bottom Sirloin, and Bean Paste Soup with 2 Rice. I did find the set to be on expensive side in comparison to spots in area. Will be back for the crab soon though!! read more
Recently I was my Korean soy raw crab cravings have been going on a tangent and was happy to find Jejudo serves this Korean delicacy! Since my hubs is a meat fan I made sure there was a fair share of bbq meats! We ordered the Soy Sauce Marinated Raw Crab + Pork Belly & Short Beef for Korean BBQ. The uniqueness of the bbq at Jejudo is they use butter for their bbq! It adds such a rich aroma and flavour you just keep wanting more! The bbq is very filling too and comes with two generous salads (green onion salad and lettuce), cheese corn, some veggies to bbq, and 3 side dishes. The soy raw crab was just as delicious as well and very fresh! I can solely eat this dish on its own with a good bowl of rice! What an incredible meal this was! read more
My first time having marinated raw crab! The sauce is a strong soy sauce flavour but it's packed with umami. It goes perfectly well with rice and banchan! For the crab, it's marinated well but I think over time, it gets a little tiring. Since it's raw, the crab is very rich and fatty. I think one piece is enough for me. The cold noodles were refreshing, I like the way they cooked the noodles. The soup was very spicy but it balanced all the dishes we ordered. read more
Solid spot for some legit upscale korean cuisine; a little on the pricy side, but dishes like the bossam stood out as pretty excellent; extremely soft and flavorful. YMMV as some menu items felt a little less worth the price - as noted by other reviewers, the soy-marinated soft-shell crab is an eye-catching special, but the flavor may leave you wanting. Seems like there's a lot of good Korean food in the area so this place wouldn't necessarily be my first choice, but the food was overall pretty decent. read more
Price/quality (4/4): Food is quite tasty and many of the items are surprisingly cheap. You can also find some dishes that are quite rarely seen around Vancouver. I have been looking for soy sauce marinated raw crab in the Lower Mainland and finally found this restaurant thanks to Yelp! It is a Korean delicacy that is hard to find and I am not sure if any other restaurants offer this. I ordered the meal set that included the rice and choice of soup. I picked spicy seafood tofu soup. My family ordered spicy beef tartare on rice stone bowl, extra side of beef tartare, and steamed egg with cheese. Banchan and water were dropped off first. The banchan were traditional offerings of bean sprouts, seaweed, kimchi and pickled radish. The rest of our meal arrived after a short wait. The beef tartare stone bowl included a side of bean paste soup. The beef was fresh and nicely marinated with sesame oil and a raw egg. My child loved the steamed egg with cheese. He ate all of it with a side of rice from my meal. Egg was fluffy and mixing cheese with the egg added a layer of flavour. My meal was really filling with the crab, soup and rice. I ended up just eating the raw crab on its own between bites of soup. The crab meat was sweet, savoury, and tender. The soup was decent. I have had better soup base elsewhere. There were a good amount of tofu, seafood and an egg. Overall, I think the prices were great for the amount and quality of food. Service was efficient. The plaza parking can be very challenging during peak hours. read more

Came for lunch on a Friday. Not many people inside. We ordered the 3 people lunch set. It comes with bossam (pork belly), sashimi, raw marinated crab, grilled mackerel, rice and a fish soup. Overall for $53 for all this food would be enough for 4 people considering the amount of food they provide. The sashimi was interesting - flounder etc had different textures. The marinated raw crab was very well marinated and although they don't give you a lot it's definitely enough to satisfy my raw crab desire. The bossam was really tender and went we with the marinated Napa wraps. I actually prefered the Napa wraps to the kimchi that they provided. The side dishes were all mediocre to me. The grilled mackerel was grilled well and went so well with the rice as did the marinated crab. For the price I would recommend this set but if you want to try more things like their raw seafood soup, intestines etc. Then you might want to order separately. The service was also really fast and attentive. Would recommend going during lunch as I hear the line can be long during dinner times. Tip: ask for gloves when you eat the raw crab read more

After roaming around the Surrey area for a couple of days, decided to cross back over the bridge to KTown for some Korean bbq. I remembered passing by this place so hopped on Yelp for a bit of insight, didn't help much other then noticed on their menu besides bbq, they have sashimi and marinated raw crabs. I know Korean marinated raw crabs are a delicacy and I tried them before when I was in Korea, but not my thing. This place is located on top of the Korean supermarket along with a few other Korean restaurants and parking was free and plentiful. Walked in and got seated without waiting as I see there's a waiting list by the door. Our waitress informed us to press the buzzer when we are ready to order, so Korean. Here were the food we ordered; 1. Assorted tuna sashimi. It came with Akami, fully seared O-toro, and swordfish. The Akami barely make it to the fresh level, the swordfish were fresh but I would preferred chu toro more, the fully seared O-Toro for a second there I thought it was grilled pork. Okay, I don't think I have to go into details if one of the finest part of the bluefin came fully seared, let's just simply say it failed! 2. Steamed eggs with cheese. Goes pretty good with rice. 3. Grilled mackerel. Could use a bit of flavour and should've let the skin side on the hot plate.they were a bit dry. 4. Couple set for 2 bbq. Let's see, I think something got thirsty and drank half of our bean paste soup cause it came less then half full, first time seeing that in a Korean restaurant, maybe the price of water went up!?! The 2 different salads... should've bag them home and cook myself some chop suey. The corn with cheese... please stop putting mayo on them!!! The healthy stone bowl rice was great but numbed some of the flavours away. The side kimchis could be a lot better. As for the meat, certainly needed to be more tender. How ironic it was when I was eating the assorted tuna sashimi, right across the restaurant, I saw a poster of a bluefin tuna and it showed different part of the fish and their praised value. And here I am looking at the assorted tuna I was served with. Anyways, let's keep the review honest and real. I was a quite disappointed because I really had some high hope for this place after reading some of the reviews. The service was okay but the food quality certainly nothing like what some of the reviews said. Maybe this place is just good for its marinated raw crabs like some reviewers said? So lucky we got a table when we arrived.There's a line up after we eating. My friend really want to try their food, is so special and not easy to prepare is rarely find in Vancouver's Korean restaurant.The plaza have a big parking lot which is convenience. Food: Soy Sauce Marinated Raw Crab-This is my first time to try this dish,I've heard many friends recommended. Crab tasted surprisingly good! It was fresh and sweet, not fishy at all. Spicy Beef Tartare-This is something new for me to try. The beef is freshly sliced,compare with more sweet but not spicy sauce and egg yolk. Spicy Pork Entrails with Cheese-They cooked the entrails in the kitchen we only need to heat until cheese melted;it helped balanced the spicy. Stir-fried Glass Noodle and Vegetables-The portion is not big but is really good! If you want to try different dish than others,definitely need to dine here! read more
Okay bbq at a pretty high price point. Got the marinated crab and the couples bbq set... which came out to $120-$140. Would say it is pretty pricey compared to other Korean bbq places that offer higher quality meats + dishes. Overall, the food was mediocre at best and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more
I fall in love with marinated crab (raw) during my trip to Korea a few years ago but couldn't find it anywhere in Vancoucer until I discovered this place on yelp. So that was the main thing I came for and it didn't disappoint me. The only difference was that it came as an appy so you don't get the crab cover which contains the roe and goes well with the rice. We also tried a few other items on the menu and they all tasted great. The sashimi came with seaweed leaves and sauce, korean way of eating it I guess? It was nice but I still prefer the Japanese style. The price was on a higher end too. Service was great, the Korea lady explained to us how things should be mixed together or else we wouldn't know the seaweed leaves were meant for sashimi. TIP - go there early or be prepared for at least 30mins wait. read more

Jejudo is one of the many Korean restaurants in a mini mall located on North Road above the Hannam Supermarket and specializes in a Korean-Japanese fusion with an emphasis to sushi dishes. On my first visit, I arrived before noon and noticed how quiet and dark it was. Looking for a bit of light, I decided to sit at the bar but I still found that the lighting was challenging. I decided to try their Aburi Sushi ($12) which came with salmon, toro, squid, and unagi nigiri. While the nigiri pieces weren't overly saucy, the sashimi they used was quite fresh. I also ordered the Tuna Crunch Roll ($12) made up of avocado and shrimp tempura topped with tuna, crunchy tempura bits, and nori. This roll had a nice contrast of textures from the creamy filling to the crunchy bits from the tempura. The following month, I made a revisit and made sure to sit closer to the window since this restaurant is so dimly lit. The menu online is a bit different than what you get in person and I wound up ordering the Assorted Sashimi ($20) which consisted of 3 pieces of salmon, 3 pieces of sockeye, 3 pieces of tuna, 1 piece of tako, 1 piece of hokkigai, 1 piece of squid that was sliced into 3 narrow strips, and some type of marinated conch (top shell I think). Both types of salmon were quite good as was the marinated conch meat which was crunchy and had a subtle flavour. While I'm usually not a fan of squid sashimi, it was prepared well here. On the downside, I found the tako to be a bit too chewy and the tuna was served a bit too cold. I wish they had more menu items which catered to single lunch-time diners. read more
Walked in on a Friday night without a reso, and the nice lady accommodated us to sit @ the bar. My favourite was the beef tartare/ raw egg on rice. The meat was enhanced with a Korean sweet sauce, which we found to be very delicious. We got the sashimi combo ($18) and the quality was good. The only reservation I had was the sockeye salmon, which I found to be extra fishy and thawing. This place can accommodate large groups in semi-private rooms and I'd recommend sitting at the bar for couples. read more

3.5. We came here for the raw beef marinated on rice. It was quite tasty, we would order it again. We also had the fish soup, we asked for extra spicy and to our surprise it was actually spicy! Service was decent, prices are okay. We probably would come back but it wouldn't be our first choice. read more
