We were a table of three and we each other the lunch special to share. The lunch special was for $18.95 and it came with a soup and a side dish. The side dish is small. the soup is huge. There are three side dishes to choose from. Do not try the pork belly. The pork belly was super dry and not recommended. Both the chicken bulgogi and beef bulgogi are super tasty. We came here during lunch time and it was pretty empty. They have all you can eat pork special on weekdays for $29.95. That is not a bad deal if you like pork. Free parking at the plaza. I really like how they have the Ipad and bell at each table. It is easier to get a hold of a staff if needed.

    Sakura Salmon Melody Roll
    Tiffany ..

The salmon melody roll was really good. Enjoyed the presentation and each piece had a good amount of salmon on it. I enjoyed the beef, but my table had mixed opinions on it. The waitresses were nice but they had forgotten some things such as we had to ask for a spoon twice because it was forgotten the first time we asked. We also didn't like that although we had 4 people we were only given 2 sauce trays until we asked for 2 more. Ringing the bell for service was also very slow and occasionally we rung twice. It didn't seem too busy the night we had gone as the tables around us were empty, but they did seem pretty understaffed.

Sakura Sushi & Arisu BBQ, a newly opened Korean-Japanese restaurant in Burnaby's Edmonds, was formerly known as Arisu Korean BBQ. Located in the mall boasts a large free indoor parking lot and a public bus stop nearby, making it very convenient. Incidentally. The new restaurant has retained all the decor and furniture, with a modern and avant-garde interior. The seating is in a Korean-style high-backed cubicle, making it feel somewhat cramped. The blue light troughs installed in the high-backed cubicles, combined with the neon lights on the walls, create a psychedelic atmosphere. Each table has a bell to call the server, which is very convenient and thoughtful. The restaurant's grand opening promotion runs from April 22nd to May 31st, 2026, offering a 15% discount all day. I highly recommend the Sakura All-Day Set Menu, priced from $17.95 to $24.95, which includes six choices: pork cutlet, beef/chicken rice bowl, teriyaki chicken, gyoza, nigiri sushi, and takoyaki. It's quite affordable and definitely worth a try!

Good ambience, food at decent price, service attendant with a push of a button at the table. Has 4 private rooms that holds upto 12 people.

    Seafood Pajeon $19.95

One of my favourite places for K-BBQ! I've been many times to their Coquitlam location, but we decided to check out the Burnaby location as we were in the area. Compared to the business of Coquitlam, this location was much quieter with just a couple of tables occupied. They still have the TV screen at each table that plays K-pop MVs, and play K-pop in the background. Menu seemed to be the same and I didn't notice a different. We ordered combo A ($89.95) and a pajeon ($19.95) for 3 people. All the meat was super tender and well flavoured, but our favourite one was the marinated short rib. Sometimes it comes out super touch and chewy, but we didn't have this problem at all. Pajeon was loaded with ingredients. Stayed crispy on the outside and didn't fall apart too much. I always love their dipping sauce here too. Just a note: we left around 10-11pm and honestly couldn't figure out how to get back into the underground parking lot (after the grocery store closed). All the gated doors were locked (even the small door for pedestrians) and we had to wait for a car to leave the lot for us to go back in.

We came on the first day of their new AYCE menu. There were many pros and cons. Obviously, I understand that there would be bumps in the road when starting something new, so I've put that into consideration. Pros: Service: The service was excellent and the staff were attentive and quick. Speed: Food came out quick and the cooked items came out piping hot Easy to order: Every table gets an iPad that you order directly from so you don't have to waste time waving down a server to take your orders. The iPad order goes straight to the kitchen and they bring out your food. Quick and easy. Our favorite thing on the menu today: Beef Soup The restaurant is also big, clean, and very well lit. Cons: Variety: Minimal variety of meats and cuts. I expected for the price and the fact it's AYCE, there would be more options for marinaded pork and beef. It was lacking in banchan (side dishes). They only had bean sprouts and kimchi. I was hoping they had more (like they do at Kook). I love the Korean potatoes, seaweed, daikon, egg, etc. but they didn't have any of those on the menu. I love that they had fudge pops you could order for dessert, but also wish they had 2 or 3 more options and maybe give the customers a limit of 1 dessert per customer. Poor cuts of meat: The meat weren't tender at all. Even though there was quite a bit of fat, after cooking it, it became dry and a bit tasteless. The marinated meats were better but we felt the best cut we got were the pork belly. All the beef we had were dry. I feel like the cuts of meat were of poor quality. Very different from other Korean AYCE BBQ spaces. Even if they had some premium cuts that you can only have 1 or 2 orders per person, will show the customers that they understand what choice quality looks like. I want to like the place because it's a nice restaurant, great location for us, and service was fantastic, but would I rather save up and pay more for more variety and quality meat? Probably. If they upgrade their meat quality, and add more variety to a AYCE menu, I would love to come back another time.

ojing eo dolsot (spicy stir-fried squid)

Drive passed this place a lot and looked good. Finally came to try it. I think my expectations was too high as the dishes were bland. We had the stir fried squid on rice and short rib dish. For some reason, the squid didn't have any flavor even though it looks like there would be a lot of flavor. It was more spicy than flavor so I guess it was more of the red soybean paste that gave the color. I've had stir fried squid at another place and it was full of flavor so I was disappointed with this one. The short rib soup was more flavorful and the meat was good. The flavor was subtle but there. I use most of the rice for the soup so that the rice can absorb the flavor. If you plan to bbq, I recommend having 4 people as you need to order 2 bbq items on the first order and it may be a bit too much for 2 people.

    Kalbi Kim chi soup
    Amy W.

It was another one of those days where we had to answer "where should we eat?" The parking lot to this place was a plus. It's upstairs in the plaza and quite a decent sized restaurant. We decided on the Kalbi soup and the Chapchae for the two of us. The meal came with a cabbage salad with the chap chae and banchans (potato salad, Kim chi and bean sprouts). The Kim chi was crunchy and not overly fermented where it's too wilted. The kalbi Kim chi soup came out bubbling which was so exciting to see. We ordered extra meat and it wasn't too spicy or sour. Perfect for the chilly weather. The chap chae was HUGE. It probably could've fed 5-6 people. It wasn't overly greasy and perfect seasoning.

Solid spot for kbbq! Located inside the plaza, there's plenty of parking. We were seated promptly for two and got some beef bbq to share as well as a kimchi jjigae. Came with rice, salad and 4 side dishes (kimchi, bean sprout, potato and radish). The beef short rib and marinated beef was delicious!

Ok-ish Korean food for the price. With so many good Korean restaurants in the area (Chicko and Na-Re are better and cheaper, and if those aren't to your taste, there are six other places within a ten minute walk) there isn't much reason to eat here unless you have your heart set on Korean BBQ, and then you're looking at spending $50+ for a table of two and this place is way too inconsistent for that price range. The meat coming out can be a mix of frozen and thawed, the grills and tables aren't kept clean and the grills aren't oiled, the grills apply heat weirdly and don't grill very well, etc. On the plus side, this place is open until midnight and there aren't too many places around here that are open late, and they're not very popular and don't really seem like they're going to get popular, so they can handle large parties on short notice.

    Ronnel S.

Myself and 2 friends came here to try the authentic Korean bbq,it was winter when we visited, very cold, the parking is underground and you need to walk to main level grrrrrr unbearable weather plus that night the wind is very unfriendly but worth the trip when we were already inside. Large Korean gig theres actually private room available well to me it looks like a private area. Service is very good excellent actually. Kinda dark inside, interior design is chic and Korean inspired. Now lets go eat; ---Japchae-stir-fried potato noodles with assorted vegetables and beef.. well, not the best japchae in town but it was good. ---Seafood hot cake assorted seafood and scallion hot cake- we always order this dish we all believed that this one is really Korean, very delish,so good specially warm and dipped into the sauce I gezz spicy sauce is better than soysauce. ----the main and star dish of the night,we had the premium beef combo consisting of boneless galbi short rib,rib eye and ju mu luk,all marinated which is really an advantage because the meat has different taste right away. All fresh and very tender, tripple A as other always say, well it should be good for the price of over $129 plus tax for just the combo. It comes with veggies on a scewer, rice and Korean soup with meat and tofu(I love it) We actually ordered morethan we can eat so we can split the left over and bring it for lunch at work the following day. Market value---pricey Ambience--- good character, upscale atmosphere Noise--- its morethan average when we came someone is celebrating something in the other table looks like that they are already boosted.. happy and loud. Cleanliness--- excellent, the toilets actually is like a hotel, modern, very neat and smells immaculately awesome. In total we had fun,we over ate our dinner that we need to smoke 2 stick of marlboro red each to somewhat relieve the effect..hahahaha Very pleasnat exoerience even it was a bit pricey and the location is kinda far from where we reside. I highly recommend this place,if you are willing to pay for both good Korean dishes, excellent service and chic place then this is the place to be. Gezz i will visit again soon.

Pork and Squid signature dish with a side of rice.

I had the pork and squid stir fry and greatly enjoyed it! It was the right degree of spice for my preferences. The slaw salad was also excellent. I needed a quick turnaround for my meal (30 minutes) and since it was 3 in the afternoon they were happy and able to get me my late lunch quickly! I will definitely come here again. Great to have a quick and convenient Korean BBQ place right next to my building!

Boneless galbi $32.95 - Must Order! The galbi there is nicely marbled and strong beef flavour. Pork jowl $18.95 - I think pork belly is a better option. I tried it once then went back to pork belly. Just a better deal for the buck for similar quality imo Premium ribeye $32.95 - Definitely not worthwhile. Galbi is so much tastier than the ribeye. Rather spend $20 for a costo prime rib eye! Premium beef combo $120 - For boujee people who are too lazy to pick what to eat overall combo is a good deal but even with a la carte of the same items is similar pricing. Gamja Tang L $44.95 - It was alright. Nth wow nth meh. Seafood pancake $18.95 - My must order! They always screw up tho I Always have to ask them to recook it the right. always have to extra emphasize to cook it extra long till it is crisp and golden. Then they'll do it right. Arisu is one of my go-to for Korean bbq! Their meat is so good!

Overall, their weekday lunch special is good value. Though their food on my first visit wasn't especially memorable, their spacious interior + modern ambience + efficient service + good value and free parking brings them up from 3.5 stars to a 4 stars rating since this is a place I would definitely consider visiting again to try other dishes. There is a bell on the table if you need attention from the servers, and they are usually pretty efficient and fast when it is rung. We saw that there was a $9.99 combo deal and everyone at our table was shocked. We all ordered that. The combo comes with your choice of a noodle dish (Jajangmyeon or Black Bean noodles, Korean udon, or Spicy Cold noodles) and a Beef Bulgogi on the side. I ordered the Jajangmyeon with the Beef Bulgogi and it was great! I enjoyed the nice chew from the noodles and the Black Bean sauce was flavoured well. I was pleased to find chunks of pork in the noodles also. The Beef Bulgogi was a little watery, but tasted sweet and tender. All that food for $9.99. That's unheard of in this economy and in these times! Amazing. We'll definitely return as we saw other great deals on the menu also!

We chose the gganpunggi (sweet chili chicken). Jjajangmyeon was ok. Nothing too special about it. Good portions. The gganpunggi was also a good portion! However, I found that it was mostly batter, and since they use a mix of tapioca starch and other as breading, it gets jello-y when not completely cooked. Same goes for the sweet and sour pork. I love their coating and the flavour is great, but sometimes I just get a coated piece of fat which is a bit off-putting.
