Ordered delivery simply because they write hosting good 2 for 1 deals. As take out, this sushi is decent-ok. Big rolls but quality seemed a bit lacking. The Sunomono was a bit odd. Maybe sweet and salty rather than sour with a kind of sweet? read more

The food was excellent, the wait was not too long, the service is quick that day. The space is kinda tight. The music is a bit loud. Price is slightly high. If you do business here or study here, this is not the place for it because it is loud. The music as well. read more

Decent Korean sushi place on Main. Parking is plentiful on the side streets. The inside looks a bit dated with the checkerboard floor and striped mirrors. Definitely a unique look though. Staff are friendly. No complaints. Sushi here is definitely a bit pricy for the amount of food. The Alaska roll is really just a California roll with a slice of salmon sashimi on top. The better deal is the rice bowl dishes such as the beef bibimbap. Good taste and decent portion size for the price. Wouldn't mind coming back, though there are other options in the area. read more

One of my go-to sushi spots in the neighbourhood! We ordered salmon, tuna, and tamago nigiri, along with dynamite, California, spicy tuna, and salmon rolls. The entire ordering process was a breeze, we placed our order online and it was ready for pickup in about 25 minutes, right on schedule. Their online system is super convenient, making it easy to select and pay for your order ahead of time. I appreciate how they give you a clear estimate of when your food will be ready, which makes planning a pickup straightforward. Most importantly, the sushi here is consistently fresh and delicious. I really appreciate that they don't overload the rolls or nigiri with too much rice, you get a generous amount of high-quality protein instead. That's always a good indicator of great sushi in my opinion (so many cheaper places tend to use way too much rice, which really ruins the experience for me, but this spot gets it right). Overall, I'm always happy with my experience here and would definitely recommend it to anyone craving good sushi in the area! read more

Quick and easy. Affordable japanese restaurant on Fraser st. The food was good but not exceptional. A rather traditional menu, convenient if you want the usual japanese dishes. Would have liked a bit more flavour though. Seems to be a popular place for online order, lots of delivery guys coming and going. read more

I've ordered a bunch of times via ubereats/takeaway. Mainly rolls as it's easier to consume at a picnic. What was memorable is they do their sauces esp with a bit of heat very well, the peppers/jalepeno mayo is very rich and umami. Out of the last 7-8 takeaways, it was very consistent. Our last order which were in the picture consisting of bc roll and don't recall the later, it was beyond greasy. It was oil laden that we weren't able to actually consume it. The calamari was very battered considering I recall it being calamari strips and not pre mature squid. Considering I had priority of Uber eats, the food still was very warm upon arrival. In the meantime, no more app delivery from good sushi, will try to dine in for better consistency of food. read more

Ordered from Uber Eats because they had some good BOGO deals & coupons and for the price that we ended up paying, it was not bad at all! We ordered the: Fantastic Roll - filled with prawn tempura, california roll filling and then topped with chopped scallops and a sauce, we all really enjoyed this as it aesthetic pleasing and tasty with a good rice to filling/topping ratio. Prinkle Chicken - kind of like chicken nuggets covered in a cheese powder, this was a good portion size and the pieces of chicken were not too much fat/skin but that meant it was a tiny bit dry. The powder on top reminded me of chips which I didnt love but was okay with. Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Roll - we got two of these due to the BOGO deal and it was quite good! It had cream cheese/california filling topped with a thin slice of smoked salmon. I found that the piece of cream cheese was a little too big making it overwhelming but the perfectly ripe avocado was appreciated. Negitoro Roll - great rice to fish ratio. Good amount of toro and green onions and rice was not mushy or over flavoured. Overall, Good Sushi is a good place to get some good sushi. (too much?) read more

They also serve some korean cuisines here. The sundubu jjigae - bland and small so I wouldn't recommend that. Tempura was fried well - light and crispy Spicy salmon roll - the size is good and the ratio of rice to filling is also good but the problem is that the salmon is mushy. It wasn't fishy or anything but when you marinate raw fish for a long time, the meat breaks down and the texture becomes mushy. That made it not nice to eat. Hopefully they can fix this. read more

They have an all-vegan menu with all sorts of different special items, including a lot of fancy vegan sushi. The prices are outrageous, with miso soup costing $6, goma ae at $8, and special rolls often $15 or more. I tried out a couple rolls for lunch one day: a goma ae roll ($5.95 plus tax) and a kale & avocado aburi oshi ($14.95 plus tax). My order was ready for pick-up at the requested time. The goma ae roll came with 8 pieces, filled avocado and sesame sauce-covered spinach. Very tasty. The oshi came with seared avocado on top of the rice, and then the whole box was smothered in crispy kale (think kale chips). This one was quite decadent and heavy, but quite tasty; way overpriced though given what you get. All in all, very tasty and creative vegan sushi, but the high prices mean I won't come here often. Recommended for a treat. read more

It's surprising to me that on my two occasions coming to Good Sushi, it's not a busier spot! On a Friday night at 7 PM, only a third of the restaurant was occupied. Our service was perfect, quick, tea refills, friendly, and accommodating to some of our groups modification requests. Everything on the menu you'd expect and more from a Vancouver Sushi spot. The even have a full vegan page and Korean fried chicken! I had the Amazing roll and it was Amazing! Everyone in our group finished our plates and the "mmm this is so good" comments and sounds were abundant. Highly recommend and will be back for sure! read more

Was heading to the restaurant next door for lunch, but found out they were closed and chose to try Good Sushi. What a nice little surprise. On the menu has Japanese and Korean items. The menu is fairly big, but from what we had and seeing all the other reviews they can handle it and still maintain good quality. We ordered two sets, spicy tofu with and beef and mushroom (sukiyaki). Each set came with banchan and rice. The service was quick and the sets came out quickly. The portions looked small, but once we put our spoons into the pots, there was a very good amount of food. It wasn't quantity over quality, it was an and vs an or. Flavors were excellent. Service was great as the service kept coming around to refill the tea. Safety, tables spread out, sign in the at door with lovely hand smelling hand sanitizer. They even had plastic gloves too. Next visit will be for the Japanese food. read more

We were in the area for a function and decided to try Good Sushi which recently opened in the area. It was a weekday evening and there was plenty of available seating. We ordered and shared the Favourite combo, the Spicy Tuna combo and the Tuna and Salmon combo. The taste and presentation of the sushi was quite good and everyone in our group enjoyed the food. There was no issue with the service with the exception that we did have to flag down the server to fill our tea cups...a very minor issue. With good sushi and a nice presentation of the food, it was a positive food experience and I am happy to recommend Good Sushi...the name is very appropriate. read more

Previously a different restaurant but i can not remember which one..... Excellent Korean Japanese sushi joint.I love the interior design, specialy the two colored flooring.Large TV monitors around. Good service and quick and efficient. I got tuna and salmon sashimi and meat bibimbap with cilantro sauce. Fresh and yummy sashimi,i always love to deep them on a soysauce with lots of wasabi, that moment when it melts in your mouth and the taste of wasabi goes into your nose....i just love that feeling....very Japanese to me hahahahahaha. What a good idea to have Korean dishes, i mean diverse menu, good foods. the bibimpap was excellent but this one is serve on a cold bowl not the one from other Korean gig that uses hot Korean clay pot. Pricing is just okay , anyway sashimi is really expensive anywhere. Noise level is average, good for group and family, also kids friendly place. Street parking if your lucky then you can park infront the restaurant.. They observed covid-19 precaution and protocols, and they collect information like your name and telephone number for contract tracing. 100% i will visit again i wish to try on different kinds of sushi and other Korean dishes they offer. that will be soon... read more

This contemporary Korean sushi joint is Good. I was recommended by Yelp's online notifications last week and I am glad we tried it out. First impression with the layout was Good, free 2 hours street parking is good, spacious clean interior and decor is good, service, menu choice and the prices all good. The food taste is more than good :) We actually already planned what items we should order in our next visit. That said, we will come back for more soon. read more

Stumbled into this place by myself, and decided to give it a try. When I first walk in, I grabbed a to go menu which may have confused the waitress. When I to her I'm going to eat here, she sat me down, but didn't bring a menu to me. I waited about 5 mins, asked another waiter and got it right away. Maybe she thinks already have a to go menu?? I wasn't very hungry for sushi so I ordered a bowl of Shoyu Chashu Ramen and Scallop Aburi Oshi. The ramen didn't really have any broth flavor except soy sauce and water, can't compare with any Ramen specialized places, but they did give you a lot of shoyu which was nice. He noodle is no different than other places, however, I wouldn't recommend to order it if you are a ramen lover. The Scallop Aburi Oshi was much better, it's the kind of press sushi I like, and it was freshly made. It was a Monday night and I went in st dinner time around 7pm. However, maybe because the business is pretty new, the seats were pretty empty. Hopefully they can pick it up later as more people get to know it. Overall I think it's worth trying if you are in that neighborhood. read more

Not bad sushi, but mediocre. Ingredients still fresh, so that's a plus. I ordered the house and crazy boy roll. The rice on the sushi seemed hard as there is a little resistance to it when you bite down on it. What upset me was the house roll was 6 pieces, the end cuts were cut well; but the center 3 pieces were stuck together. Not to mention the entire roll would fall apart when you picked it up with chopsticks. The crazy boy roll seemed to be better, cut nicely and held its own. The place is Korean. No fault for that, as in Vancouver it always seems like another ethnicity runs the "Japanese" sushi restaurant. Would I come back to this place? Not sure, but I'd be up to giving it another try. The prices here have increased so be wary of the menus posted here or on the internet, as I noticed that their combo deals are missing a few items from what's posted online. read more

Disappointed. Overpriced and service is not great. Food is ok but not worth the high prices. Will not be coming here anymore.

This place took over the space where Pho Quyen used to be. So sad my favourite Vietnamese restaurant closed down. This Japanese restaurant has been open for a few months. They renovated the old restaurant and it looks much better and feels a lot cleaner. Ordered a bento box. It was quite large and a good portion for 12.95. Taste was alright. The teriyaki chicken wasn't that great and it would have been better with rice instead of bean sprouts. Business is not bad as it was pretty steady. Service is fine and they refill your tea often. read more

Bad service, over-priced and poor quality food, definetly not a real sushi chef as everything was falling apart. Food was cold and rice was hard - refrigerated and not fresh. Atitude from the server the second we walk in. They forgot a part of my meal and the server, plus all other pesonnel, were hiding in the back for about 15 mins, so I couldn't even get my dish without going back into the kitchen. Waited a long long long time to get our bill. Only bright side is they allow custom tipping that can reflect their level of service. read more

Normally the food is good but today things went sideways. Chicken teriyaki was delivered burned to black and inedible. It would be better to restart and make it again when that happens instead of sending it to someone else to eat. One star. read more

On Friday evening, my husband and I picked up dinner from Good Sushi, as we wanted to eat in but weren't in the mood to cook. We of course ordered the kimchi fries, our favourite, and as expected, they were DELICIOUS. (Good Sushi is being upgraded a star.) As I was eating the delicious mess of fries, cheese, and kimchi (it somehow tasted better squished in a to-go container than on a plate), I had a brilliant idea: Russet Shack + Good Sushi's kimchi fries topping = AMAZING. Russet Shack needs to make this potato. And not just a kimchi baked potato, but specifically the same topping that Good Sushi uses. I have been thinking about this potato all weekend. It needs to be done. read more

This is one of my new favourite places. Lots of vegan options, and all super delicious. Portions are decent, prices are fair. Brussel Sprouts (5/5) Best brussel sprouts dish I've had. The slightly crispy kale and the chewy rice cake paired with the perfectly cooked brussel sprouts is a match made in heaven. The sauce is delicious - the dish is a bit on the oily/salty side but I loved it nonetheless. Cauliflower (5/5) My second favourite cauliflower dish of all time (after Heirloom's KFC). So light and crispy and not greasy at all. The sauces are so flavourful and this whole dish was amazing. Gomae (5/5) This was really good. Gomae can be a hit or miss, but this was really tasty with a generous amount of sesame sauce. Fried Chik'n (5/5) A bit overfried but still super crispy and delicious with a great texture. I enjoyed the sweet soy garlic sauce, but there could've been more sauce. Spicy 'Tuna' Sushi (4.5/5) Super delicious with the spicy mayo. A unique take on sushi, but does not taste like nor have the texture of tuna. Still a tasty tomato sushi though. They have so many more vegan items to try, so I'll definitely be back soon. Would recommend all the items I got and I would get them again. read more

My partner and I came in on a busy night. Despite the busyness, we were seated right away. I picked Good Sushi as our go to place for lunch recently. We (threesome) arrived at the restaurant just before their opening time of 11:30 am, and found street parking almost directly in front (like others have said, it's two hours free street parking in that area of Fraser Street, a nice plus!). The door to the restaurant was unlocked, even though the 'open' sign had not been switched on, and staff looked a touch surprised to see us walk in. We asked if it was ok to come in, no problem, we were greeted, shown to a table, and provided menus. Mugs of hot tea arrived soon after. Service remained prompt and cordial, and much to our liking, those mugs were kept full of that hot and enjoyable tea throughout our visit. What was ordered and shared (note - names of dishes and ingredients as per listings in the menu): -- Appetizers: 'Croquette' (mashed potato w/panko) - 'Our Famous Fried Brussels Sprouts' (w/bacon, rice cake, soy maple) - 'K.F.C.' (Korean fried chicken - sweet & spicy chicken bites) -- Roll Sushi: 'Combo Roll' (8 pcs spicy tuna roll - w/cucumber, tuna, spicy sauce & mayo, 6 pcs dynamite roll - w/prawn tempura, avocado, cucumber, yam, crabmeat, 8 pcs California roll - w/avocado, crabmeat) -- Stir-Fry Noodles: 'Seafood Yakisoba' (w/scallop, prawn, mussels, salmon, egg noodle, carrot, cabbage, onion) -- Tempura: 'Prawn' (w/6 pcs prawn, 2 pcs green bean). Dishes arrived rather quickly to our table, and looking good. Each proved to be well-prepared, very flavourful, and tasty. Sauces and spicing definitely on the 'tasty' side, but to personal likings, and certainly not over-done. Seafoods, and chicken were tender and juicy, noodles and veggies just right. The yakisoba provided a great selection of various seafoods, with whole and good-sized portions, not just tiny pieces scattered amongst the noodles, as we've been served in preparations elsewhere. Though not a 'lover' of brussel sprouts, this was a preparation even I enjoyed! The rolls were exceptional, with quality ingredients (including the thin rice outer layer), looking, and tasting so fresh and flavourful. For us, a much-enjoyed lunch dining experience at Good Sushi. Thanks to some Yelp friends for contributing their on-the-mark reviews, and wetting my appetite to go there. And to the restaurant's staff, our special thanks for "doing good", and living up to the restaurant's name!! read more

Deep Fried: 4/5 Everything else: 3.5/5 Too often are bento boxes an excuse to package together cheaply and quickly prepared dishes into a moderately priced bundle. *Cough* Sushi Aria in Richmond *Cough* has the nastiest soba/bento in the world. That philosphy though still present is pushed to the back of the mind as quality and sheer execution is brought to the forefront. This new sushi joint demonstrates the true meaning of deep fry. Not only was the chicken flavorful and juicy to the bite but the tempura batter as well was top notch. Clearly the chef is aware of just how good their tempura batter is because the entire dynamite roll is lightly covered in it and fried for an extra crunch. I have seen other sushi restaurants use the same technique but somehow this time it stood out to me. A light ebi sunomono helped balance out my meal. Teriyaki is delicious. It's worth noting that the chef of this restaurant is Korean and though I didn't try their sashimi, a look at the menu shows a very basic sashimi and nigiri selection. Not to say that Koreans can't prepare great sashimi but the skills and techniques used to make good gimbap carry over well to sushi, however there is not quite as close an equivalency for sashimi. Don't quote me on that. I will be sticking to the rolls and deep fried heaven for the most holler for my dollar. read more

Ordered pick up from here tonight and was satisfied with our meal. They have a large range of items to choose from and it isn't limited to just sushi. They have Korean dishes such as japchae, bibimbap, and Korean fried chicken. I thought the portions of food were pretty good and enjoyed the crispy kale they used to top off some of the dishes. I tried the seared tuna bowl. The tuna had a fennel and cumin seasoning on it. Although this bowl was on the pricier side, I enjoyed it as it was well seasoned, the crispy kale gave it an element of crunch, and the kimchi provided some good acidity. The nigiri are also quite large for the price. The chopped scallop and ikura were my favourites. The negitoro roll was also a larger portion than other places I've had it at before. The Korean fried chicken with the spicy sauce had an element of sweetness to it. The pieces of chicken were quite large. Their fried brussel sprouts were also tasty. The added rice cakes were delicious and chewy. Overall, the portions were good for their prices. They have some unique items and have good sushi (as their name implies haha). I'd definitely give this place a try! read more

Had takeout from this sushi place. Overall, not a bad experience. The menu is decent for its size and similar in comparison to other sushi places in Vancouver. However, there is nothing too special or unique either. When entering the store, I was glad that there was parking, but only for take-out customers. It really helps with those short hop off and grab moments. The inside of the store is clean. There is a large open kitchen so you can peek to see your food being prepared if you are dining in. The service was pretty decent. However, the time to take out wasn't particularly fast or particularly slow. In terms of the food, the price is not bad. It is pretty average for its food amount and quality. Nothing spectacular. You get a large amount of food in the bento box but the taste isn't something you write home about. Overall, decent price for its quality with decent service. Nothing exceptional or unique. Because of that, it might be one of the places that you try and might go back if you are budget inclined but won't leave you with a craving to return. read more

This place not only makes good sushi, but they are also fairly inventive. Their fried Brussels-sprout dish is particularly good, and brings a vegetarian bento box up a level from most other places. We arrived around 2:45pm on a Saturday for a late lunch. At first glimpse, visually everything looked promising. The place looked clean, and had about 5 seated tables. That's about all the good I can say. Upon entering, the lady at the till across the room never bothered to look up, nor were we greeted by the "cook" that made eye contact with me. Instead of grinning or saying hello, he decided to look down, and chose to vigorously wipe down the counter. A few minutes pass by, and the lady that was behind the counter is still looking down and staring down at a monitor and still ignoring us. Next, a delivery service guy comes in and goes up to the till and pick up the package he is supposed to deliver and leaves promptly. As a show of respect, we obeyed the "please wait to be seated" sign and assumed the lady behind the counter would finally offer us a table. Well....... That didn't happen. Instead the hostess (loose term) quickly looked up and just as quick looked back down at the monitor. At that point, there was a table with a nice couple just to the side and told us to " just sit down anywhere and hopefully they'll see you" . I have to assume by their tone, the couple was annoyed as well. I did notice they were seated, but without tea, water or a menu at their table. By this time it has been roughly 7-8 minutes without one ioda of greetings. Obviously not returning Hence we left and went somewhere that actually had service. read more

This sushi is indeed quite good! Stopped in last night for dinner, not busy. Space is big and bright, seemed clean. We tried the green dragon roll (basically california roll with avocado on top), the BC roll, cucumber/avocado roll, tempura, and some pieces of nigiri. Overall everything was pretty good although I found the green dragon roll a little too creamy - lots of mayo mixed in with the fish and avocado a little too ripe. The BC roll was also a little unusual - the salmon skin pieces were deep fried which I've never seen before. Tasty, but unexpected. Service could have been better - servers were friendly but I think they were understaffed. Overall a good meal and will definitely come back here! read more

This place just opened 2 weeks ago. I was a bit wary of it initially because of the name but I am glad I tried it! This is a Korean run place with an extensive menu of both Japanese and Korean items. Quality of food would be on par with places like Sushi California and Sushi Mura. Service is friendly and when they made a mistake of giving me a whole roll of Salmon Aburi Oshi sushi instead of the single nigiri I asked for, they gave it to me on the house and still made the nigiri for me! I tried their Korean Fried Chicken and I thought it would be more crispy and fried then battered and lightly fried. Reminded me of the sweet and sour pork that you get from Chinese restaurants, except this was drizzled in Korean spicy sauce. The sushi rolls I had were good. They didn't have Tamago maki on the menu but they made it upon my request as my son loves eating it. I will definitely be going back to try the other things they have on the menu. All in all, I think I might have found my new go to place for solid middle of the ground Japanese place from the Fraser hood! read more

The sushi is mediocre, but the Korean dishes are pretty good. Family-friendly and reasonable prices. So this is pretty clearly a Korean joint that decided that sushi brings 'em in better. They're probably right on that point. The fish quality is ok, nothing to be concerned about, but the chef's are clearly rookies when it comes to the sushi side of the game. Rolls falling apart all over the place, uneven cuts, just rookie stuff. But man, the Korean stuff is good. Great KFC, Bibimbap and Japachae. It's a good sized room, seems to turn pretty quickly, and it's super family-friendly. I love it because I can get sushi for the kid, Korean for me, and then head a few stores over for Earnest Ice Cream for desert. read more
