Food Tonton Sushi never disappoints! The salmon sashimi is thick, fresh, and beautifully presented--just $20 CAD (around $14 USD), with plenty of pickled ginger on the side. One of my all-time favorite dishes here is the fried oysters. You get four for less than $10 CAD ($6 USD), which is phenomenal value for anyone coming from the U.S. The oysters are perfectly fried with a crispy exterior and tender, flavorful interior. On a previous visit, we tried a wider variety of sashimi, and everything was exceptional. Service The staff are friendly and attentive, making every visit smooth and enjoyable. They even offer small perks like 5% off for cash payments. Atmosphere The ambience is relaxed and welcoming, with free Wi-Fi for guests. It's a great spot for a casual meal with a focus on fresh, high-quality seafood. Overall Experience This was our second visit, and it certainly won't be our last. Tonton Sushi offers incredible freshness, great value, and a consistently enjoyable experience. Even though we don't visit Vancouver often, it's worth making the trip just for this restaurant. Highly recommended!

We had a birthday picnic and I ordered a party tray. First time ordering from here. Staff was pleasant during pickup. Sushi was fresh and yummy. We look forward to dining in soon. A very aesthetically pleasing environment. Their menu is also expansive so can't wait to try the other dishes.

Food is always good here 9.30.23 430pm Not sure what was going on: Today, the service was exceptionally shiat.. Had to ask, not twice, but 3Xs (reminders AFTER the food arrived) First from the gal busser, twice, and then the manager; yes the *manager, who 'managed' to close out the simple 'asks' For one request, my guest asked for fork n knife and extra kapkins. 2 requests later... *HE drops both of them on my plate, and scoots off. Pretty certain it was the manager (lower case). Not one to complain..... but go figure! Not Busy Either. Laziness or too *pre-occupied with the std or uber travel paks. No Tip this round.

    Nigiri set menu

Mentaiko cream udon had a balanced flavor with kick of crispy garlic flakes. Jellyfish gunkan maki was an interesting menu to try. Nigiri and sashimi are fresh and in a good quality. Some special rolls could be little spicy.

Hand roll. While tasted okay, it was worst looking hand roll I've ever seen.

Maybe I'm spoiled, but I have high expectations of sushi restaurants in Vancouver, but based on this one visit, this place doesn't meet that expectation. First of all, they didn't have few of menu items we wanted. When we asked the wait staff about few food items, they didn't seem to have answers. Rest of That kind of set the tone for the rest of the dinner. The rolls we ordered were okay, nothing spectacular. Their sake menu lacked choices, leaving us craving for something more. The restaurant was busy, so maybe it was just us, but my dinner party of 9 left this restaurant wishing we had gone somewhere else.

Another decent, middle-of-the-road sushi joint in Vancouver, with plenty of veggie options. We decided to grab a takeout order for lunch one day. Between the two of us, we got an order of goma-ae ($5.50), 3 pcs of Inari Nigiri ($2.25/pc), 2 veggie rolls ($5.50 each), 2 avocado rolls ($5.95 each), and 1 Kanpyo roll ($2.95). The order was ready for pick-up in about 15 minutes. The goma-ae was very rich and tasty, but too sweet -- like the chef's hand slipped when adding sugar. Still good, but that sweetness needs to be toned down. The rolls were all fine too, but nothing stood out. The veggie roll was largely comprised of radish, shredded carrot, and red beets; there are more exciting veggie rolls in town. All in all, decent, but nothing to make it stand out from the litany of sushi places in town.

Casual sushi spot in a good location. I received a gift certificate so I came here with my family to try it out. The service was good and the servers were really nice and polite. We thought the sushi was standard quality but much better than some of the other casual sushi spots in Richmond. Hope you can open a location in Richmond. Thanks for a enjoyable lunch dining experience!

Cannot get enough of this place. Amazing with online orders for delivery as well. Some of our favorites are the salmon oshi (DELICIOUS), the bento boxes and the sashimi salad. For the price you get a great amount of food and the quality is good! Strongly recommend.

Those that live in the Vancouver area are spoiled with great sushi joints in every neighbourhood. Tonton is an example of that. Very busy on a Sunday evening, it took quite some time for our group to get a table. However, once we were seated and our order taken food came out fast and fresh. We ordered a variety of rolls, nigiri, noodles, as well as the salmon oshi (YUM!) and salmon sashimi. The portions were great and the presentation was on point. My favourite item of the evening was the kimchi mentaiko udon. I love the combination of cod roe and kim chi. In addition, they take it up another notch with lil' chunks of bacon to add a little bit of additional saltiness! I was quite happy with the meal and was elated when I found out they also have a location in New West which is closer to home for me.

We came to Tonton Sushi for a family dinner. There were five of us in our group, and entering the restaurant our group was greeted quickly and were told that it would be a 5-10 minute wait. After waiting 20 minutes, we were seated at our table. We had ordered a variety of rolls, some nigiri, a couple of noodle dishes, salmon oshi and salmon sashimi. My favourite roll of the night was their Alaska Roll. The roll had a nice contrast between the creaminess of avocado and crunch cucumbers worked well. The addition of the salad dressing in the roll makes it just a little tangy and sweet. I would probably not order their noodles again. While the flavours were good. I felt like the noodles were a bit slimy.

Every time I come, I can feel the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff. From seating to ordering, and then to the care during the meal, everything is done with great finesse, making me feel comfortable and at ease. The unique politeness and meticulousness of Japanese service are naturally reflected here. The food is also a reason I want to come back. Whether it's the freshness of the ingredients, the presentation, or the taste, you can feel the attention to detail. Japanese cuisine emphasizes the quality of the ingredients themselves, and Miku presents this refinement beautifully. Every dish is pleasing to the eye and has a layered flavor. I also love the ambiance. The overall design is simple, elegant, and has a very comfortable Japanese aesthetic. The lighting, seating, and spatial layout all create a relaxing atmosphere without feeling overly decorated; instead, they have a high-quality feel. As for the atmosphere, I think it's what makes this place so special. Elegant and quiet, yet not too formal, it's suitable for dates or enjoying a good meal with friends. Sitting there slowly eating and chatting makes the whole dining experience particularly comfortable. After several visits, I still feel that Miku is a restaurant worth returning to again and again. It's not just because of any one dish, but because the service, cuisine, environment, and atmosphere combine to create a very pleasant experience every time I come.

This visit we ordered the shrimp garlic fried rice, Agedashi Nasu, Grilled Squid with Garlic Mayo, and an assortment of sashimi. The shrimp garlic fried rice is an absolute must every time. It's packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and somehow manages to be comforting without feeling too heavy. It is a large dish and can easily be shared by 3-4, depending on what else you order. We also love the Agedashi Nasu here with melt-in-your-mouth eggplant wrapped in a light, delicate coating that soaks up the savory broth. Service is always quick and organized, even when the restaurant is busy. I made reservations about 4 months in advance. Upon arrival, one of the hostesses opened the door for us, and asked us to wait in a very ornate waiting area. We only waited a couple of minutes before another hostess seated us at the main seating area. The space is very dark, and only lit with candles while the rest of the diners trickled in. During that time they take drink orders, which is limited to sake, wine, beer and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Of note, they don't provide a drink menu, so we were a little surprised by the cost - the yuzu sake and the plum wine were $30 each. My non-alcoholic drink was $12, but a fair size. The theatrical portion started a few minutes later than the official start time - closer to 6pm. The shades lifted, the lights turned on, and the chefs introduced themselves. And from that moment on, they immediately went to work preparing our meal. They operate like clockwork to show the ingredients whole to the diners, and then preparing them, and serving them. Soon as the one dish was completed by all the diners, the next round came shortly after. Over 20+ dishes, there was very little wait time in between each. Each time a dish was served, a hostess was there to describe the dish and provided tips on how best to eat it. The food was overall was very good. I thought a few items were very average, most of them were very good, and a select few were truly outstanding. Most of the ingredients are imported from Japan, so I would imagine that it's part of the reason it's so expensive. This is definitely a splurge meal. I think half the diners at our sitting was celebrating a birthday. On the most part, the food is very good, watching the chefs at work is part of the entertainment, and the service is excellent.
