    Korean fried chicken
    Denver D.

Amazing authentic Korean food. We tried several flavors of chicken, all were really delicious, not very oily but great flavor, especially the cheese one is 5-star! Owner is so kind and gave our big group lots of side dishes, we ate till we were stuffed. Their garlic potatoes are also awesome. It's a small and intimate shop with unbelievably good food, feels very homely and we will definitely come back.

There was a bit of a waitlist but had a great time with my friend! Had pumpkin soup, potato croquettes, japchae (beef sweet potato noodles) and the gamjatang (pork bone soup) I've been looking for but too scared to hustle for on Austin because parking there scares me. Afterward we went to the Wonderland across the plaza for bubble tea so all in all a good time at Eagle Ridge Plaza. Our server was so busy, practically jogging between tables and seating people and cleaning up, etc. that I felt kind of bad for her! They were obviously short-staffed. But she was on the ball and happy to give us the things we asked for (tongs, soup spoon, leftovers container). I'm told this is a one-woman operation with two cooks in the back. If that's the owner, we didn't have time to chat! The food was all delicious, definitely returning.

Tasty food and great service in a bright and cozy spot. We dropped by for a late lunch and was happy with our meal. We were served pumpkin soup at the beginning of our meal, which was a nice touch. Hot stone bowl bibimbap- plenty of toppings and I liked that they used purple rice instead of plain white rice. The bowl was hot but the rice didn't get as crisp as we'd like it to be. Seafood pancake- plenty of seafood. Crisp on the outside and a good portion size. Just wish there was more green onion. Beef tartare bibimbap- my friend got this and said it lacked some flavour. Seolleongtang- beef bone broth with plenty of beef and noodles. Very comforting. Banchan- bean sprouts, kimchi, potato, and fishcake. They were all good and refillable. Overall, it was a pretty good meal. If I'm in the area, I wouldn't mind returning to try other dishes.

I absolutely loved the food here. The woman working at the front was also so nice and seemed to be doing everything herself (taking orders, refills, bringing food). The side dishes (bean sprouts, kimchi, fish cake, potatoes) were all excellent as well as the complimentary pumpkin soup. We got the bulgogi and donkatsu. Both were very tasty and good portions as well. Highly recommend this place for some good quality Korean food.

We love this new Korean restaurant. Restaurant opened up 2 months ago so it was easy to get into Saturday evening. We're from the states and wanted to visit a new Korean restaurant as Korean food is way better in Vancouver than Seattle. Food - first of all the food was all around fantastic. You get a rice(or mochi)-based pumpkin squash soup with your meal which I loved. Nutty sweet balanced taste for your tastebuds. My wife got the Kalbi which was fantastic and sweet with a nice base of onions. I got the beef tartare bibimbap which was so well balanced crispy fresh and came with so many veggies and special purple rice. They season the rice too which made it stand out. The side dishes are also wonderful and price fair. They clearly put a lot of thought into the quality of their ingredients and food here. Service was amazing. Our waitress (could've been the owner) was so nice welcoming and gentle. She was attentive to our needs and it felt like we were eating with our mom. She was so nice. Ambiance is beautiful. Not too big but it's spacious inside, with peaceful music playing. It's great for family and dates. Parking is easy as it's at a complex. Bathroom is clean meaning the kitchen is clean. Next time we're passing by Coquitlam we're coming back!

We saw that a new Korean place had opened recently so it was time to go try! It's a small restaurant but very clean and they've kept it spacious for guests. I assume it was the owner running the place since it was a lazy Thursday afternoon (around 1pm) with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. They started us with some pumpkin soup, which my dad already approved of after a few sips! Off to a good start. For the three of us we ordered the LA Galbi ($25.99), Yangwootang ($18.99), and Donkatsu ($17.99). We had leftovers for a meal for one because their portions were so generous! The Galbi was seasoned well with soft tender cuts of beef short rib which weren't too fatty. A nice staple dish. The Yangwootang is a beef intestines and honeycomb tripe in a spicy soup. It was flavorful and quite spicy! I have never had this before, but def prefer pork intestines, as the beef intestines was quite mushy and soft. The donkatsu was crispy and light, with fluffy pork inside, it was delicious! The breading was just the right amount and came with TWO pieces! I love a Korean place that offers banchan (side dishes) throughout the meal and doesn't charge extra for refills, and they did just that here! The side dishes were kimchi, radish kimchi, fishcake, bean sprouts and potato. I also must note I felt quite fancy with their nice utensils and gold bowls! I like the attention to detail where the rice bowl containers are double layered (commonly only single layered) so you don't burn your fingers holding it! Will definitely be back to try more of their menu items!

It's been a very long time since we have had a genuinely delicious Korean meal. You feel very welcome by the staff and the restaurant decor is warm and inviting with its simplicity. Our server was so very kind and fully bilingual so whether you are Korean or English speaking, she was able to accommodate superbly... Honestly though, the food needs to be highlighted here...it's definitely a hidden gem and we will be back. The spice level was PERFECT. The naengmyeon was PERFECT. The sides.. PERFECT.

Staff are friendly but understaffed. Once the place filled up they were swamped. Signature steamed seafood pot - definitely on the pricey side, but they don't skimp out. Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point to try some other dishes. Recommended.

The servers were extremely attentive in asking about refills, whether that's the rice, meats or even side dishes. A great bang for your buck for all you can eat these days. I was craving this soup and glad I tried it here because it hit the spot! Tasted delicious, didn't have to wait for a table, and it was reasonably priced then. Came back here last night for dinner with my family and was finally able to try the bbq items. It was a hit! We ordered 2 of the combo A which was the perfect servings for 2 adults and 3 (very hungry!) teenaged boys. Not only did it come with 3 meat types (thinly sliced pork belly, marinated beef Bulgogi, and one other thinly sliced beef), it also came with soup, banchan, and a big bowl of Bibimbap. We also ordered their seafood pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too thin or thick. The actual bbq grill itself was the best one I've seen at a Korean restaurant because it was non-stick, temperature controlled really well, and it didn't leave us smelling like the food after dining. The ventilation must've been good here as it wasn't super smoky at all. The best dish was definitely the bean paste soup! We all loved it and had never tried it before, so next time we have Korean, it will be a staple in our order! It wasn't too busy last night so we were seated right away. Staff were friendly and while they were short-staffed, they were quick enough to get what we requested and ordered in a timely manner.

This place is the most authentic Korean restaurant in all of Vancouver (I swear on my mother), but if you're coming here and not ordering anything of the organ-variety you've come to the wrong place. Intestine and blood sausage can be hard to approach, but with the right seasonings and preparation, these dishes really hit the spot (ESPECIALLY with drinks oh my god). Not only does the family-owned place clean every piece of meat super well so that their intestines avoid tasting gamey, but the side dishes are also really delicious. Instead of eating basic tofu stew or spicy rice cakes at a gentrified place in downtown, try out the Makchang and Soondae Soup at this place!

Very flavourful. If you love onions, order this. Came with PURPLE RICE. I love Korean purple rice (which I believe is a mix of many different grains added to white rice). Unfortunately most Korean restaurants in Vancouver do not have purple rice. -Cold Noodle (14.99$, but they have a lunch special where, for 16.99$, you get two potato pancakes): At first I was hesitant to order this because I love buckwheat (dark gray/purplish colour) cold noodles, and these weren't those, but am so happy we did. I love the texture. The flavour of the broth was also excellent. My only qualm was the "cucumber garnishes" that, in my opinion, were actually too-sweet pickles. Other than that, highly recommend. Potato pancakes were also very yummy. They served complimentary barley tea, and had yummy banchans (kimchi radish, fish cake, and soy sauce pickled onions). The waitress (daughter of the owner-her mother) was very kind and patient with all my questions. Affordable, delicious, authentic, with good portion sizes.

The sauce covered up how shredded up and fatty the pork slices were if you really looked. The flavors were just not there. The side dishes were also pretty bland for me and didn't have my usual favorites - it included shredded carrots, a mushroom-like dish, and kimchi that was not memorable.
