Enjoyable dining experience at Hansol~ It's a popular spot and might expect to queue for a table. We came at around 6:30pm on a Friday night, waited around 20 minutes. Really friendly and efficient service, large portion on the bibimbap, rich flavourful seolleongtang! Delicious pumpkin soup on the house to start was a pleasant surprise. While the beef tartare was a common highlight among reviews, it didn't seem to deliver a wow factor other than being insta-pic worthy. However, this was an extremely solid bibimbap - satisfying, tasty, and generously topped. Happy with our choices. read more

This place, tucked away just 5 minutes' driving distance from Coquitlam Centre, is clearly beloved by the local Korean community. The portion sizes are generous. They are perfect for sharing with family or friends. We saw many families and younger groups dining in, which gave it a cozy, homey vibe. We can taste the love and comfort in every bite. I found this restaurant through an IG foodie's recommendation. This restaurant is always very busy, and on weekends, there is always a lineup. We ordered short rib BBQ, Beef tartare Bibimbap, and original-flavor deep-fried chicken wings. Beef tartare Bibimbap was served in a hot stone bowl with a variety of vegetables on top of the rice. The gochujang sauce was served separately, allowing us to adjust the spiciness to our preference. It was a pretty good dish. The short rib BBQ was very tender and nicely seasoned. It was slightly on the sweeter side, very delicious. I will definitely order it again. The original flavor deep-fried chicken wings were served fresh and hot. They were incredibly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside--very good! Next time, I should order them with a flavored seasoning, as I already knew the original version was cooked with less saltiness, meant to be paired with a sauce. Plenty of parking in the plaza for this one. We managed to beat the dinner rush and was seated right away - the queue built quickly - so you'd probably want to book ahead, or give yourself additional time! The complimentary pumpkin soup was delicious so it didn't even last long enough to snap a picture. The Honey garlic chicken had such a nice crunch to it, despite being drenched in it's honey glaze - often times, when there is heavy sauce, it loses the crunch - however Hansol perfected this, and you'll get the best of both worlds ! As for the pot, i felt like the heat could of been turned up a notch, as the spice wasn't really hitting it for me - however the contents was still very tasty - Don't recall if there was any music - Will definitely be back to explore there menu further! read more

Amazing authentic Korean food. We tried several flavors of chicken, all were really delicious, not very oily but great flavor, especially the cheese one is 5-star! Owner is so kind and gave our big group lots of side dishes, we ate till we were stuffed. Their garlic potatoes are also awesome. Had pumpkin soup, potato croquettes, japchae (beef sweet potato noodles) and the gamjatang (pork bone soup) I've been looking for but too scared to hustle for on Austin because parking there scares me. Afterward we went to the Wonderland across the plaza for bubble tea so all in all a good time at Eagle Ridge Plaza. Our server was so busy, practically jogging between tables and seating people and cleaning up, etc. that I felt kind of bad for her! They were obviously short-staffed. But she was on the ball and happy to give us the things we asked for (tongs, soup spoon, leftovers container). I'm told this is a one-woman operation with two cooks in the back. Tasty food and great service in a bright and cozy spot. We dropped by for a late lunch and was happy with our meal. We were served pumpkin soup at the beginning of our meal, which was a nice touch. Hot stone bowl bibimbap- plenty of toppings and I liked that they used purple rice instead of plain white rice. The bowl was hot but the rice didn't get as crisp as we'd like it to be. Seafood pancake- plenty of seafood. Crisp on the outside and a good portion size. Just wish there was more green onion. Beef tartare bibimbap- my friend got this and said it lacked some flavour. Seolleongtang- beef bone broth with plenty of beef and noodles. Very comforting. Banchan- bean sprouts, kimchi, potato, and fishcake. They were all good and refillable. I absolutely loved the food here. The woman working at the front was also so nice and seemed to be doing everything herself (taking orders, refills, bringing food). The side dishes (bean sprouts, kimchi, fish cake, potatoes) were all excellent as well as the complimentary pumpkin soup. We got the bulgogi and donkatsu. We love this new Korean restaurant. Restaurant opened up 2 months ago so it was easy to get into Saturday evening. We're from the states and wanted to visit a new Korean restaurant as Korean food is way better in Vancouver than Seattle. Food - first of all the food was all around fantastic. You get a rice(or mochi)-based pumpkin squash soup with your meal which I loved. Nutty sweet balanced taste for your tastebuds. My wife got the Kalbi which was fantastic and sweet with a nice base of onions. I got the beef tartare bibimbap which was so well balanced crispy fresh and came with so many veggies and special purple rice. They season the rice too which made it stand out. The side dishes are also wonderful and price fair. They clearly put a lot of thought into the quality of their ingredients and food here. Service was amazing. Our waitress (could've been the owner) was so nice welcoming and gentle. She was attentive to our needs and it felt like we were eating with our mom. She was so nice. Ambiance is beautiful. Not too big but it's spacious inside, with peaceful music playing. It's great for family and dates. Parking is easy as it's at a complex. Bathroom is clean meaning the kitchen is clean. Came here on a date and we ordered a bunch of things to share: kimchi ham fried rice, LA galbi, seafood pancake, and the corn cheese. Food took a bit to arrive but from the other reviews it seems like they have a small team. THe corn cheese was a miss - although the cheese was melted, the corn was cold. Seafood pancake was pretty good, the fried rice was actually quite spicy (in a good way) and the LA galbi was juicy. The side dishes were tasty as well and can be refilled upon request. First time on a Sun at 6:40. Just grabbed the last table before three other tables came in. I ordered 3 dishes and two were good the other one was almost as good. The beer was cold. The banchan was a little salty but i think that is why they were above average. The nice young lady was the only server and she was kind of keeping up. Stumbled upon this great find by my friend's partner that googled nearby Korean options as we were checking out the last wknd of LeFarge lights on the Lake. It felt like an authentic Korean comfort food place. Small intimate with not too many tables, but clean and busy. My family used to eat a fair share of Korean (mostly Korean bque) when I was growing up and was so happy to see DakGalbi (Korean stir fry chicken) with veggies on their menu. Most Korean restaurants here usually only have fried chix, like KFC. It was served in a stone pot, only wish they had a spicy version of this dish, it came with their purple rice which was v good. We each got complimentary pumpkin purée as a starter, was good, felt like baby food consistency. Then we got kimchi (delicious), potatoes, bean sprouts and think a fish skin type sides for the table which could be refilled except for bean sprouts which they ran out. My friends had Osam Bulgogi, pork bque w/ squid stone pot and bimimbap. We all enjoyed the food, reasonable prices compared to Vancouver/Robson street in downtown. We just happened to stumbled upon this place (with no internet) and hoped for good Korean food. We knew when we opened the door and found it full, that we lucked out. We saw that a new Korean place had opened recently so it was time to go try! It's a small restaurant but very clean and they've kept it spacious for guests. I assume it was the owner running the place since it was a lazy Thursday afternoon (around 1pm) with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. They started us with some pumpkin soup, which my dad already approved of after a few sips! Off to a good start. For the three of us we ordered the LA Galbi ($25.99), Yangwootang ($18.99), and Donkatsu ($17.99). We had leftovers for a meal for one because their portions were so generous! The Galbi was seasoned well with soft tender cuts of beef short rib which weren't too fatty. A nice staple dish. The Yangwootang is a beef intestines and honeycomb tripe in a spicy soup. It was flavorful and quite spicy! I have never had this before, but def prefer pork intestines, as the beef intestines was quite mushy and soft. The donkatsu was crispy and light, with fluffy pork inside, it was delicious! The breading was just the right amount and came with TWO pieces! I love a Korean place that offers banchan (side dishes) throughout the meal and doesn't charge extra for refills, and they did just that here! The side dishes were kimchi, radish kimchi, fishcake, bean sprouts and potato. I also must note I felt quite fancy with their nice utensils and gold bowls! I like the attention to detail where the rice bowl containers are double layered (commonly only single layered) so you don't burn your fingers holding it! It's been a very long time since we have had a genuinely delicious Korean meal. You feel very welcome by the staff and the restaurant decor is warm and inviting with its simplicity. Our server was so very kind and fully bilingual so whether you are Korean or English speaking, she was able to accommodate superbly... One star for the service - understaff and we needed to flag the owner for water or ordering. The food was below average. Usually, the food portion in the Korean restaurant is big and satisfied. We ordered the stone rice - Bibimbap - the portion is tiny with no flavors. The intenstine soup didn't have strong spice. Traditionally, Korean restaurant uses their own spice to make this particular dish but definitely not this restaurant. The seafood pancake was ust okay. Overall, it was pricey (food quality wise wasn't up to Korean cuisine standard). There are many authentic Korean restaurants around that area with reasonable price. We won't be return since this particular restaurant left us dissatisfied. read more
