Came here at dinner time weeknight without a reservation and there was plenty of seating. They have a daily $10 special consisting of soups, and rice bowl sets however it's very much a kbbq restaurant since there were bbq stoves even for two seaters. They offer a variety of meat, cuts, and combo deals but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they have an all beef and all pork all you can eat. We went on a Wednesday and it was all you can eat pork belly and marinated pork, with a soup and unlimited kimchi pancake and sides all for $30. The servers were extremely attentive in asking about refills, whether that's the rice, meats or even side dishes. A great bang for your buck for all you can eat these days. We heard the staff speaking to many customers in Korean so it must be Koreans approved. Need to come back on a Tuesday to try their beef all you can eat! read more

I first tried this place earlier this yr for lunch and ordered the beef bone broth soup, which came with a bowl of rice and banchan. I was craving this soup and glad I tried it here because it hit the spot! Tasted delicious, didn't have to wait for a table, and it was reasonably priced then. Came back here last night for dinner with my family and was finally able to try the bbq items. It was a hit! We ordered 2 of the combo A which was the perfect servings for 2 adults and 3 (very hungry!) teenaged boys. Not only did it come with 3 meat types (thinly sliced pork belly, marinated beef Bulgogi, and one other thinly sliced beef), it also came with soup, banchan, and a big bowl of Bibimbap. We also ordered their seafood pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too thin or thick. The actual bbq grill itself was the best one I've seen at a Korean restaurant because it was non-stick, temperature controlled really well, and it didn't leave us smelling like the food after dining. The ventilation must've been good here as it wasn't super smoky at all. The best dish was definitely the bean paste soup! We all loved it and had never tried it before, so next time we have Korean, it will be a staple in our order! It wasn't too busy last night so we were seated right away. When you come to Coquitlam, you got to have Korean food, and there are many types. Haan has the more widely known Korean menu including grill yourself BBQ, soups, Japchae, seafood pancake etc. I would rate this place pretty good especially money for value. The seats are pretty wide and it felt very spacious too. For $70 you get a giant BBQ Combo A which has ALL of the following: - 3 meats for you to BBQ, including bulgolgi, pork side, and beef belly (all really good btw, especially the side pork which was really tender and our family fav) - Dolsot (hot iron) bi bim bap, with egg that you mix in - soup of your choice, we chose tofu soup - side dishes We also ordered jap chae on the side. Everything was pretty decent. I only wish they had spinach and pea sprouts, but I loved that they give. Everyone ssamjjang. My daughter loved the tofu soup, I did too. The meats were outstanding. Given all the high reviews, I naturally had some high expectations for HAAN. It wasn't as exciting as I had thought it would be. The restaurant is nice and new looking but is small in size; with a group of 6, it did take a while before we got seated. Food was decent but not something I would go out of my way for. Bossam 4/5 -- This was the first time I had this dish. Although the pork was good, the thing that shined was the banchan. The spicy cucumbers, carrots, and onion salad accompanying the banchan were perfectly seasoned. BBQ Meats 3.5/5 -- Nothing really stood out for me. They were good but not out of ordinary. Seafood pancake 3/5 -- The ingredients in the pancake were lacking. Felt like the ratio between seafood and pancake was off. Japchae 3/5 -- this wasn't seasoned as much as I'd expect it to be. This was quite oily and I would've anticipated more sesame taste (sesame oil) given how greasy it was. A great spot for Korean bbq! Visited on a Saturday afternoon and got a seat right away after taking temperature, getting a pump of hand sanitizer and leaving a name and phone number. My friend and I have been to Haan Korean restaurant 2 weeks ago. It was our first time trying this place. We had a such great experience. We arrived the restaurant when it just open at 12 pm noon. It's a middle size restaurant. It's nice and clean inside the restaurant. My friend and I ordered individual food and another food to share. The food came up very fast and fresh. Taste of food is very delicious. Even though this place is famous with its BBQ, but other food that we ordered are awesome. We are happy to dining in this place. HAAN is one of my favourite Korean BBQ restaurants. I find it better than a lot of other korean bbq places in Lougheed, even if they are slightly pricier. They marinate the meat better and have really good mains/entrees such as their bossam (also marinated, not just simply boiled) and slow-cooked ribs. Solid Korean place near Pinetree Village. The strip mall it is located in is quite difficult to get to though. Even though it's on Lougheed, it's not accessible from there. One has to get to the mall from Ponderosa. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall parking lot. The interior has a lot of dark painted wood. It honestly reminds quite a bit of Sura in downtown Vancouver. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food is quite decent quality. The appies included fish cakes, which was nice. Glass noodles - great flavour. Tasty. Seafood pancake - nice and thick. Plenty of fillings. Tofu hot pot - served with square pack of instant noodles, which get added to the pot during cooking. A decent place for Korean food. Lots of parking available, easy to find, and the interior is spacious. My friend and I came here for dinner on a weekday around 6:30pm. It wasn't 'bustling' with people when we arrived, but once we got seated, more people started coming in. Service was a bit slow as we didn't get our waters until after we ordered and no one really checked up on us during our dining experience until the very end when we were about to pay. I found the food to be okay. The side dishes were decent, though I found the kimchi a bit too sour for my liking. We ordered their Bibimbap and the Spicy pork back bone hot pot with potato and mixed vegetable. The Hot Pot is big and definitely more than enough to feed 2 people. Overall, the flavours from the dishes were what I expected. Small tip: I noticed many people were having their BBQ options. Been here a number of times for dinner and lunch, service has been consistently top notch. If you are thinking of having their lunch special and you are a group of 4+, likely there will be some waiting time. Most items are fairly standard issue. I didn't find their offerings particularly out of this world or terrible. So I would say the food is average. Typically the meals come with side dishes like most Korean restaurants. The only reason this place has any business is because Vancouver doesn't have any good affordable Korean BBQ spots or any AYCE Korean places like Toronto, Montreal and the US. Pros: flavour of the food was good. Cons: Stingy restaurant. Small portion, got 4 appetizers, 3 were radish, made me pay $2.50 more for an additional bowl of rice (server didn't say it would cost extra until the bill came), asked for more potato salad the server said not until we finish our dish, when we each wanted our own dish, these guys are just super stingy it seems. Some dishes came with soup on the same page of the menu but not the 2 meat dishes we ordered, bulgogi and marinated pork. We had to eat all the lettuce, cabbage and side dishes and order more side dishes to feel full.... and the service at the start and end were not good. The girl was alone tho so I'll give her that but she never came to the table and we just sat there until I raised my hand and called her over. Finding a new Korean restaurant is great! Haan BBQ was really good. They had a good selection of beef and pork to grill. Unfortunately, no chicken. The marinated beef was really thin, seasoned well, and tasted great! They had other classic Korean dishes - bibumbap, soups, and seafood pancake. One thing that I have to mention is that they use infrared grills and non-stick grills. I prefer the traditional cast iron or steel grills. The crispy, burnt bits add to the flavor. The tables and seating was good. The service was fast and friendly. Only wish that they had call buttons on the tables. Definitely worth another visit. read more

So great to see a Korean BBQ in the port coquitlam area! This place is good! It has a selection of meat, entrees and sides to choose from! For BBQ at least 2 meat selection must be ordered and it comes along with rice, soup, and lettuce to wrap your meat. The meat was super tender and full of flavours. Highly recommend the marinated meats! They have a really nice sweet and savory flavour! HAAAAAAAAAAN - I am head over heels for this restaurant!! Whether it be their side dishes, japchae, gamjatang hotpot, or bbq - they will never fail to make your taste buds crave for it. They make EXTRAORDINARY doenjang jjigae - with the perfect amount of spice, salt and miso, my boyfriend and I end up craving for it every day (I'm not even kidding). Their wait times aren't too bad but it might get a little more hectic and busy on the weekends during peak hours. I also love their gamjatang hotpot!! For $34, it'll feed around 3-4 people perfectly! Been here many times, our last visit - something is different. I suspect a change of ownership. I like getting a pretty exotic Korean dish gopchang jeongol, which is a spicy beef tripe soup. I've had it a number of times and it was always very good, this time it was very fatty as they didn't trim the fat off the tripe, and tasted of MSG. Full disclaimer my wife is Korean and barely touched it, this time around. The side dishes were also sub par in quality and variety, compared to before. My son had the bone beef soup which was good. Lastly, none of the wait staff spoke Korean - at all, we had to point to the menu, which I thought was funny. What used to be frequented by a lot of Korean people, there was nobody this time. Usually not a good sign if you're expecting authentic food and the locals stopped coming. As much as I'd done back just the bbq, my wife who's Korean has vowed never to return. read more

Came here with an intense craving for good Korean BBQ and was not disappointed. There is a two order minimum for meats but I found them all reasonably priced, with the cheapest cut (pork ribs) at $12. My friend and I decided to start off with an order of the pork ribs and the steak ($15), agreeing we'd opt for more later on if that didn't satiate our hunger. The meats here are all nice cuts, well-marinated and nicely portioned. Every order comes with rice, vegetables (green lettuce, blanched cabbage, onions and enoki mushrooms), as well as standard banchan like potato salad, pickled daikon and kimchi. We both agreed on the food being good value as you end up pretty full after cooking all your proteins and eating the sides. My personal favourite was the steak and I'd probably get two orders of that next time instead of the pork ribs. Will def be back with a larger party next time so I can try more off the menu. Had to knock a star off as service can be really slow. Our server forgot our vegetables right off the bat and we had to remind him three times before they came. They do get really busy and there was a lineup for the duration of our entire meal. Also, maybe don't wear anything that requires dry cleaning because my hair and clothes all reeked of BBQ by the time I left. This is my favourite Korean BBQ place to go to with my partner! We will gladly make the trip for the sake of a great BBQ experience. We've been there a few times now and all experiences have been nothing but pleasant. When you go, be aware of peak times because there will be a wait -- a testament to how great this joint is. Make a reservation, if you can, unless you don't mind putting your name down if there is a wait. There is plenty of parking, so you won't be driving in circles hoping a spot becomes free. Once you sit down, the food comes fast. The BBQ is a minimum order of 2 servings of meat and with it, you get an array of side dishes including 2 portions of rice and complimentary soup. They are really generous with their side dishes here as well. The cuts of meat we've tried were all high quality and fresh; our favourite is the salt and pepper beef. I loved the decor and the cushioned bench seating. The servers have been attentive during all our visits, kind and service is always prompt even when they are busy. One of my go to Korean BBQ restaurants in Coquitlam. Their menu is simple but has a decent selection of quality meats. Service has always been very prompt and everyone is very friendly. The seats are nice and comfortable and their ventilation system is quite good and you don't leave smelly too much like BBQ. The side dishes that come with the BBQ is switched up from time to time which is nice and is not always the generic items you always get at most Korea BBQ places. Mixed Rice in Hot Stone Pot (Bibimbap) 10: The rice came in a sizzling hot stone bowl with a good mix of ingredientes like sprouts, carrots, marinated pork, mushrooms, etc. I love the crispy charred rice in the end. I stopped in here for dinner after passing by everyday and seeing the place very crowded at lunch or dinner. The menu states you have to buy two items so I bought the least expensive pork and beef options. The waitress later told me that I could have ordered one meat and a side soup, but oh well. You get all the side fixings and lettuce and the meat comes seasoned for you. The waitress told me to cook the beef first because the pork was spicy so otherwise the beef which was a sweeter sauce would taste spicy also. I followed her instructions and honestly the flavors were awesome and the sides were great. I packed the leftovers to go and they gave me more lettuce to take with me, which I know they don't usually do but they allowed me to because I hadn't had a refill on any of the sides and obviously had a lot of meat left.
