Food was fine but not for the prices. What compels me to write this is the really crappy service. We were there for a 7:30 tuesday dinner 5.25.21 for friend's birthday. The waiter was awful. It felt as if he couldn't be bothered at that time to provide a decent service or explain the menu. Was it because there was 8 of us and they closed at 9pm? Thought he would have to work past the closing time? I still tipped him the 20% because I am not oblivious to the covid situation, but in hindsight he deserved nothing given his attitude. Management should take note and manage their staff and the "service" they provide to the guests. Will not be going or recommending this place. What a disappointment! read more

I was staying downtown for work and found this restaurant across the street by luck. I am so glad I did, their service was great and the dish I had was so good that I wish we had the restaurant where I live. I had the Coniglio Primavera; the braised rabbit, truffle crema, english pea, speck and pea tendril come together to create a fusion of flavor and textures to die for. Everyone else liked their meals well. read more

Not as good as it used to be. Compare their fritto Misti from 2021 to today and it is really sad. Today, the calamari pieces are so small and greasy that it is an embarrassment for a sit down restaurant. read more

Panzano - Salsiccia Moscato d'Asti, Fontanafredda, Asti - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I researched this place before I came and made reservations 2 and a half weeks in advance for Valentine's Day and to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. I was sold when it said that a Italian restaurant had a full gluten free menu (because I have gluten allergies). I'm not gonna lie I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. It was excellent this place for sure deserves a 5 star. Not only is the service on point the food is crazy impressive. We ordered the Brussel sprouts with a apple cider reduction, pistachios, and fresh julienne apples. They were mind blowing but such a large order be prepared to eat. For dinner I had the gluten free Bolognese. It was insanely good. The best hand made pasta I've ever had with or without gluten. The one thing I have to say is that it is a hardy meal. This will fill you up. Knowing that, you 100% get quality and quantity for the price you're paying. It was my boyfriends birthday so we also got a free desert that both of us almost couldn't finish it was the chocolate pudding that had a strange but amazing twist to it. Did I mention that the service was wonderful? Our waiter was funny and personable. This place is somewhere I will definitely return to and recommend to others. read more

I am definitely not a pasta guy, but this place was amazing. Best pasta I have ever had. I strongly suggest requesting the chefs table!

Panzano is absolutely my favorite Happy Hour spot downtown, and I've been to them all. Sure, it's been around for awhile -- so it's not the newest, hippest spot. But I love it. It's one of those spots you keep coming back to because you feel at home. HAPPY HOUR: 2:30pm-6pm / 7 days a week The cocktails ($6) and food ($4-$7) are both absolutely fantastic (and the beer is only $4 and wine $5). The selection of both is huge and you can easily have a full dinner here at happy hour prices. HH RECOMMENDATIONS: Cocktail: "R and R" (Grey Goose vodka, raspberry liqueur, muddled raspberries, rosemary, splash of soda Cocktail: "Cucumber Mint Mule" (Bombay Sapphire gin, lime juice, ginger beer, muddled mint and cucumber Food: Cavolini di Bruxelles (brussel sprouts with apple cider reduction, pistachios, rosemary salt, and sliced green apple). Despite the lack of bacon, they taste fantastic (I know -- shocker). Food: Scallopini di Vitello (grass-fed veal scallopini with lemon, capers, sun-dried tomatoes, mashed potatoes, and spinach). It's rich, delicious, saucy, meaty, and pretty much my go-to every time I'm here. Food: Capesante (pan-seared scallop, spinach, ricotta gnudi, spring vegetables, basil leek nage, saffron pecorino, fried shallots, and mint). You can't not love this giant scallop and the sauce. PRO TIP: Make sure you get here by 5pm on popular nights, because the entire HH lounge is usually packed by then. read more

I am baffled by the nearly five star rating here. From the moment we walked in it looked run down and smelled odd. After being seated next to a garbage can, we were moved to a booth that had such a ripped-up seat that I had to sit on a napkin. The food was barely a step above cafeteria food and they forgot the focaccia we ordered until we were almost done eating. Our server was very nice but that's about it. definitely don't recommend. read more

We stopped in for a cocktail after watching the Rockies beat the Brewers. It was late and very close to closing. After a day of beer drinking at breweries and more beer at the ballgame, all we wanted was a non-beer nightcap. Chad our server was charming, he made us feel welcomed even though it was almost time for last call. We glanced over their specialty cocktail menu and two of us ordered the R & R. We both love raspberries and how can you go wrong when you combine Breckenridge Vodka, with a Raspberry liquor, fresh berries and a sprig of fresh Rosemary and just a splash of soda. It was oh, so smooth and flavorful. A perfect way to "cap" off a night. We got a giggle out of the sprig of Rosemary as a garnish. When it arrived I said, "Look, I've got some weed with my drink". Since we had earlier walked past a shop for medical marijuana, it got some hearty laughs from our group. The others in our group enjoyed an Old Fashion. My one cousin loves a good Old Fashion and before ordering questioned Chad if they made a good one. Chad assured him that they did and he was so right. The other three in our group all said, it was by far the best Old Fashion they have ever had out. (We all know the best ones are always made at home) Shortly after Chad served us our drinks, he returned to check on us and to inform us it was last call. We told him we only needed the one and he told us there was no rush that we could continue to visit and enjoy our drinks. I settled up the bar tab, so we could just leave when we were done drinking. Great service, great cocktails and wish I was in Denver longer to be able to enjoy some of their amazing food. The next day they were roasting a pig on the sidewalk and it looked so tempting. read more

Went to a conference in Denver and Panzano was a quick 3 block walk from my hotel. I had such a good experience my first here my first day there that I went again before I left! I really wish that happy hours in LA were more like this. I had originally just planned on going for dinner but after reading about happy hour decided to go a little earlier. I was so glad that I did! The happy hour at Panzano isn't just a bunch of appetizers but is instead smaller portions of all of their most popular dishes!!!!! I was able to try everything that others on Yelp had suggested. My favorite dishes included the Crespelle al funghi (mushroom crepe) which had the most amazing white sauce with it that I used the complimentary bread to soak up. The cavolini di bruxelles was also a favorite, the fryer was broken the first time i went but they were able to recreate the dish using a frying pan and the mix of the flavoring, apples, and brussel sprouts was to die for!!! I tried the Pastiche, capessante, and rissoto and while they were good, they weren't as stand out delicious as the brussel sprouts or the crepe. I tell my friends all the time that I don't know what I would do without Yelp and this was a great example!!! read more

Panzano oh how I am grateful for all the time I spent here on my trip. They place is beautiful and romantic. Only or accompanied doesn't make a difference because the feeling of being here feels so good and warm to the soul. I ate this pizza almost everyday while in Denver and everyday it got better and better everyday. I am staying at the Kimpton Monaco Denver and I had a wonderful gluten free, celiac-safe meal here! There is a separate GF menu and only a handful of items on the regular were not available GF (pizzas, ravioli, the burrata app, and tbh, we were too full to check out the desserts). They have dedicated fryers for the GF items and we ordered both the Brussels and the calamari to start (in 1/2 portions at our server's rec). They were both phenomenal! I had the GF bolognese and it was incredible! The pasta was cooked just right (it's really easy to overlook GF pasta). A huge shout out to our server, Kristine! She answered all of my questions with a ton knowledge and kindness! read more

Came here for brunch. Ordered the Eggs Benedict based on other reviews. The dish had nice flavor but as far as a stand alone dish, the texture was just too mushy; soft egg over a thick soft polenta disc. I wish the polenta was cooked crunchy on the outside to provide more contrast just as a toasted english muffin could provide. Service was good and very hospitable. 3.5 Stars for Food. 4 Stars for Service. Overall, good spot especially for travelers. read more

I've been going here for years and love this spot. Last night was terrible. Had dinner in the bar and our server was Awful. I expect more when spending $200 for 3 people. read more

I'm officially stating that this is THE BEST happy hour in Denver. First of all, this happy hour is 7 days a week! You can come on Saturdays and Sundays. I came on a Saturday at 5:40 pm, perfect time for dinner and they let me order drinks right up until 5:59 pm to get the happy hour pricing. They have a vast range of food or drinks depending on your price range. Small plate offerings that are either $5, $6, or $7. The drinks range anywhere from $4 to $12 carafes of wine! I got the Pastiche- so dense that a small plate of it was filling enough- I couldn't eat anything else! It came with hearty spicy meatballs and cheese tortellini all baked in a ragu sauce that had hints of cinnamon in every bite. It was a delight to eat and incredibly flavorful. I washed it down with a blackberry gin cocktail- boy they make them strong! In the heart of downtown, you can't go wrong with this place. Would be perfect to go to before a late night show at the DCPA. read more

Best Italian I have had in Denver! I had a bite of each of the plates we all got and I have to say I was very impressed.

Food was really good and our waiter was great as well. The dinner was constantly disrupted by a near by table of drunk 20-30yr olds. The restaurant took no action to quiet them and continued to serve them alcohol even after glasses were broke at the table and deinks were spilled. One of the guests needed to be helped to restroom by her friends so she could be sick. Seems Panzano mgt is more interested in their business than regular guests who behave. Hopefully for Panzano's business they come back nightly because I won't. read more

Everything about our meal was excellent, except the main course. The service was outstanding. We could not decide between two appetizers, so our waiter brought us two 1/2 orders of each. I have never had someone suggest this in the past. Both were very good. We had the day's soup and a salad; again, both were fantastic. For the main course, we had filet mignon and halibut. The filet was cooked perfectly, and the demi-glaze was a great compliment. The only problem was filet was VERY salty (and I like salt). The halibut was overcooked and not flakey. read more

All I can say is "WOW!" Having experienced Panzano second-hand through various events - I was beyond excited to check it out in all it's glory for an exclusive happy hour! P = Perfect portion sizes! Our group split a variety of Happy Hour food offerings including: Funghi Pizza, Salsiccia Pizza, Calamari Fritti, Ricotta Panna Montana, Bruschetta, and Cavolini di Bruxelles. Yum! Everything was delish! My favorites were the Cavolini di Bruxelles and the Calamari Fritti. A = Amazing options for folks that are gluten-free or vegetarian. N = Numerous creative cocktail options! I sipped on the Local Aviation and the Bull in a China Shop. Both were perfectly delicious and just the right strength! The Colomba, with its brilliant colors, is def Insta worthy too!! Z = Zealous staff eager to please! At no given point were our glasses empty (unless we hadn't decided on our next libation) or empty plates untended. A = Ambiance! Panzano exudes the sophistication of a space that has sooo much history. N = Noteworthy awards including 4 diamonds by AAA and one of Zagat's best restaurants in America! Whoa! O = On point pricing! The Happy Hour food menu is broken up by $5, $6, $7, and $8 price points. The Happy Hour drink menu is broken down by $5 local brews, $6 wine pours, and $7 cocktails. There's bound to be something for everyone - regardless of your budget. Panzano is def a great gem that everyone should check out (at least once) in downtown Denver! Cheers!! read more

Nice setting. Decent staff. Food although nice in presentation lacked basic salt in both pasta dishes. Coupled with no salt on the tables leaves each bite of pasta a watery noodle which if I closed my eyes my kids could make. Sorry guys. Why did it take 30 minutes for 2 pasta dishes and a small pizza? Not sure. With so many nice places to try in Denver, I'd say head on down the road. Sorry guys. No malice in my assessment. Perhaps it was an off day for you. read more

I always tell my girlfriend she picks great restaurants and Panzano is evidence she has done it again. We came for dinner on a Thursday evening and it was humming. I had the Barrel aged Briarwood and she ordered the Barrel aged Manhattan, which is 1 of her favorite cocktails. The Bruschetta Madevera was exquisite as an appetizer. She had the Boned in New York Steak and I had the Seared tuna pasta. The food was amazing and at reasonable prices. I can't rave enough about this place. read more

We had a girls day, so 8 of us made a trip downtown. I have been to Panzano's for lunch, but this was the first time I had the brunch. Very delicious! The bottomless mimosas were great. Lots of fruit juice choices, I had the pineapple and peach both very refreshing. We shared a basket of pastries that were pretty tasty. Most of the girls had the Eggs Benedict and they all LOVED it. Someone ordered a side of sauted spinach that was really good also. I had the Pastiche. OMG it was sooo good. It had a tiny sweetness to it. I couldn't stop eating it and neither could the girls that tried "a bite". Our waiter was so nice and patient with us. We were there to drink and celebrate friendship, so we were kind of loud. Loved this place! The reviews were stellar plus it is connected to the Hotel Monaco where we stayed. Panzano offers complimentary coffee and hot chocolate to hotel guest in the morning. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at 8pm on a Saturday. The restaurant didn't seem completely full, but the ambience was nice and wasn't noisy. Dim lighting but not where you struggle to read your menu. Our server was fantastic and gave great suggestions on the menu. We shared a Caesar salad to start - huge pieces of crisp lettuce and a delicious Caesar dressing. Boyfriend had the lobster pasta (PEPE NERO FAZZOLETTI) - this is a must try. Beautifully played and so delicious. I may have eaten the leftovers the next morning.. I've eaten at a lot of Italian places in my day. Typically the Bolognese is a go-to because you can't really mess it up. Unfortunately I was very underwhelmed with it here. Happy hour is where it's at. Good food, good drinks, great prices. Everyday! I stopped in for a drink and was pleasantly surprised to hear that they were in the midst of their daily happy hour which runs from 2:30-6pm. I can't stress how much I love happy hours, especially when they have tasty food and drinks. Good food on a budget? Come here! When I say good food I mean quality food and the prices are ridiculously reasonable. I was only in town for a few days but made an effort to stop by several times for happy hour. Food: $5 plates Melanzane Fritte (breaded eggplant) - good for the price $6 plates Prosciutto Pizza - YUMMY! I looooved this pizza it was so good! Pan Seared Sea Scallops - Delicious. There's only one so keep that in mind but it was absolutely divine. It had some type of risotto with it too. YUM! Beet filled ravioli - not bad, it was ok. Needed more sauce, was a little dry. Drinks: Lychee Sparkler - surprisingly good. Very light and refreshing. Jail Bird - bourbon based drink that packs a punch. Hits the spot. read more

I have been wanting to go to Panzano for years. I didn't make it here when I lived in Denver, so I had no excuse when I visited on a business trip and stayed in the hotel the restaurant is in. The first impression was upscale Italian-American. I had a nice table by the kitchen where I could see all of the dishes coming out. All of the dishes looked amazing. I started with the panzanella which was very good. It is definitely all about the bread in this salad. I highly recommend this dish. The only issue I had was with the wait staff at this point. I barely started eating and was asked if I was finished. If I'm about to take a bite, do not ask if I am finished. That is rude. I followed that with the coniglio primavera. This was where I was reminded I was in an American restaurant. The person who dropped off the dish butchered the pronunciation of coniglio. I would have expected a restaurant of this caliber to teach its staff how to properly pronounce Italian words. I'm really glad I didn't order gnocchi. This dish was the best dish of the night. It was light for a pasta dish and the rabbit was cooked perfectly. Despite the taste of truffle oil, it was very good. The next course was the porchetta. I saw a lot of people getting this dish, so I had to try it. The first bite was very good. The remaining bites explained why there was so much sauce on the plate. Most of the pork was dry and overcooked to be honest. The sauce and lots of water is necessary. I would not recommend the porchetta. To finish, I decided to skip dessert and try a digestivo from their extensive list. This was a highlight of the night. They had varnelli, which is not on many menus in the US. I highly recommend ending your meal with this, if you like very bitter digestivi. Overall, the experience was a 3.7 (I rounded up to 4). You can tell they are trying very hard, but certain details still need to be worked out. I would go back, just not running back. read more

Barrel aged Manhattan My wife and I had the opportunity to celebrate our anniversary at Panzano. The reviews looked good and we were excited to give it a try. We arrived on time for our reservation and were promptly seated. I really like that, especially since some of our recent trips have had us wait for our reservation. Thank you, Panzano. The decor was modern with slight hints of art deco. The tables aren't packed too tightly, offering their patrons a modicum of privacy, or at least the general sense that you're not sharing your conversation with people around you. We started with a couple of cocktails - my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Barrel-Aged Manhattan while I savored the Azuñia Añejo, a very smooth barrel-aged tequila. If you like tequila, you'll love this one. Be aware, though, it is expensive. Still, it is worth it, especially for celebrating an anniversary. The bread and the olive tapenade was wonderful. Even if you don't have much bread, give this a try as you do not want to miss the tapenade. They have an extensive wine list with some reasonable choices to expensive for your consideration during the meal. For our starter, while we had it from a good source that the Fried Brussel Sprouts were to-die-for, we opted to go with the Crispy Calamari. It was breaded perfectly and cooked to perfection, accompanied with brined goat horn peppers, fried squash, and a spicy aioli. We would definitely come just to have this appetizer. Yes, it was that good. I then went with the Caesar Salad - grilled romaine, white anchovies and house made polenta croutons. This salad was just OK and the only miss of the night. The white anchovies were fantastic, but I wish they served more than just two. The grilled romaine was not the best and I've definitely had better. The croutons were just plain and didn't add anything but starch to the dish. They didn't look that good either. The salad was OK, but not up to the standards held for the rest of the meal and dining experience. For our main courses, we had the 8oz. Filet, with basil scented Yukon potatoes, sherry vinegar glazed cipollini onions and a cracked black pepper sauce. The filet was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and was decadently rich with flavor. I went with the Colorado rack of lamb with seasonal mushrooms, asparagus, cured pancetta, ricotta-lamb sweetbread croquettes, whole grain mustard jus. The perfectly seasoned dish (I could see the Maldon Salt sprinkled on the lamb) was fantastic. I was a bit suspicious going in on the sweetbread croquettes, but they were surprisingly good. I'd definitely get this dish again. We finished up with the Tiramisu and a chocolate pudding dish (sorry, I can't remember the name) and their version of an Expresso Martini. Both the desserts and the after dinner drinks were a perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is really nice, the people are all very friendly, the service top notch and the overall experience simply wonderful. We'll definitely be back. read more

We came here for Sunday pasta dinner and had an overall great experience. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and wines and great with recommendations. I was conflicted between a tortellini special, the bolognese, and the "Pepe Nero fazzoletti" (like an unraveled lobster lasagna, described on the menu as: black pepper fazzoletti, butter poached lobster, basil pesto, black garlic coulis, Parmesan crisp). Our waitress recommended the fazzoletti so I went with that. We started with the calamari and Caesar salads, which were both fantastic, the grilled octopus, not so much. My fazzoletti was phenomenal, absolutely delicious and would highly recommend. I felt that this restaurant did an exceptional job with special pastas, where as classic dishes, like the bolognese (I stole some from my mom's dish) were a bit boring. I can't wait for the next time I visit Denver, we will definitely come back because I need to try the rest of the menu! read more
