When it comes to hotel restaurants, I often find them hit or miss. Panzano was a big hit. This place shone with its appetizers and its drinks. The whipped burrata is perfection, the Milano spritz is my new favorite aperol spritz. The pizza and the desserts were both great. We were staying at the kimpton so we also tried this spot for breakfast. The banana bread French toast is delicious and they make a great iced latte, though it is a bit on the pricey side for $5 read more

We ate here for lunch twice while we were in town. Food was pretty good but I feel like it's a bit over priced. I wish the power lunch was in the $20 range not $32. The bread comes with this dipping sauce that was incredible. Power Lunch $32 appetizer/salad, pasta/chicken Marsala/flatbread and truffles Aqua Pazza pasta is seafood with squid ink pasta in a red sauce. This was my least favorite dish which is a bummer because I typically love this style dish. I was raises by an Italian grandma and the red sauce had onions in it, so that got in my head. If you have an Italian grandma, you know what I mean! The seafood was a bit over cooked and served beneath all of the pasta instead of being on top or mixed in. I feel like this is why most of the seafood tasted overcooked. Chicken Marsala is TO DIE FOR! A really good size portion of three chicken cutlets sitting on top of risotto. It's was a really good blend of comfy and warm without being too heavy. I'd highly recommend! Power Lunch Truffles- you get two truffles either for there or to go when you order the power lunch. Overall experience because of service was just okay... our group did get what we needed but especially for a NYE dinner the service was lacking. I don't think he even told us his name, didn't ask if we've been or no intro to the menu or how the course menu worked or what the special was till midway through our order. It was disappointing. They do have a GF menu and the calamari was great and so was the octopus but the pasta was way too salty- the wort bolognese I've had in Denver. This place is elegant and romantic. Service is attentive, professional, and fancier than most places these days. We mentioned we were celebrating an anniversary, and they went out of our way to make us feel special (including surprising us with champagne and a butterscotch pudding). The sterile room is up a flight of stairs. I am sure that the menu looked good on paper. Food was served family style. There were multiple courses. The courses ranged from Caesar salad (soggy) Frito Misto , which was good. 3 different pastas (including a Bolognese, which was very salty) Others were memorable for the fact that I love pasta and gnocchi and these were all overcooked and the presentation was terrible. I am baffled by the nearly five star rating here. From the moment we walked in it looked run down and smelled odd. After being seated next to a garbage can, we were moved to a booth that had such a ripped-up seat that I had to sit on a napkin. OMG! So glad we made the trek here on Mother's day! I normally am not one to make a big fuss but we were all very impressed. We actually ended up ordering off of the Happy Hour menu. What a great way to try many different things. I don't remember the official names for everything but essentially we had the gluten-free mushroom pizza (2), Brussels sprouts (2), calamari (2), bolognese (2), eggplant, and a cocktail drink which though not on their menu anymore, they were still able to still make it (yea!). I was with a business group and there are many fine choices in downtown Denver yet we almost returned to make it two nights in a row- that's how good it was. We started with a Denver Spanky and there was no doubt the meal would be great. See the picture using a cut glass to serve. Details! By fair the Brussels sprouts finished with julienne Granny Smith apples was the best preparation of this dish I have ever tasted. We had ordered our pastas and one of my friends asked the waiter about changing his dish. The server said he would check but you could tell it was probably too late. Instead he brought us each a small dish of the meatball boleganse !! Professional way of helping us and it was the star of the evening. My first choice would not have been a meatball for the presentation -- but it will me from Now own!!! This dish was overwhelming with layers of flavors and a thick sauce. I think it was crisped by a gas flame directly, which we could taste. Friendly waitress. Not so friendly guy serving the waters and bussing tables. Only suggestion to owners - please don't make the default serving to children a disposable plastic cup with straw. We were given one to our 9 year old, asked him to bring a glass one instead, he looked confused/irritated, I explained we are trying to use less plastic, he looked more irritated. Staying in the Hotel Monaco, I ended up trapped in the hotel my first night due to the never ending parade. Lol I decided to treat myself to the Panzano. Table for 1, none of my friends could join due to the parade. #canyoufeeltheresentment anyway, I was very quickly seated and they even gave me a booth which I thought was real sweet considering they were busy. My waitress, who's name I have forgotten (I suck), was super sweet and attentive despite handling what looked half the restaurant alone. Big props. I ordered a Milano Spritz and the Acqua Pazza (new). From my booth, the parade taunted me through the windows of the Panzano. My drink arrived and was great, very vibrant and light. Then, to my surprise, they sent me a new app they're testing - a roasted & sliced delicatta (sp?) squash drowned in honey with pumpkin seeds, chili flakes and some kind of cheese. I honestly am surprised I remember as much as I do considering the Milano had def hit my legs by the time she came round to tell me what was up. I was already halfway through it cause it was delish. My Acqua Pazza arrived shortly after. This is a new dish, squid ink pasta in a sort of spicy tomato based sauce with a seafood mix. I saw octopus for sure, scallops maybe? I honestly am the worst y'all, lol. It was also delicious, that much I know. And they do not skimp on the seafood, if anything there's almost too much! I think some was left in the bowl haha. The phrase "you get what you pay for" is sometimes misleading when it comes to food choices. I was looking for a classy date night spot, and this 3-dollar sign gem in downtown Denver really came through. We made a reservation online about 45 minutes beforehand and were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. I had looked at the menu before we got there and was really intrigued by the $65 4-course tasting menu. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she told us what the four menu items were for that night. We assumed it was going to be a surprise, so it was nice to have that information ahead of time. We also opted for the $25 wine paring with each menu item. All the food was so good! I was thinking with a tasting menu that the portions were going to be extremely small, but everything was so nicely sized. We started the meal with their homemade bread and creamy tapenade alongside the beet salad. Our next course was a spicy chorizo pasta, also made in house. The third course was the scallops served with a friend pesto hush puppy. You get to choose your dessert, so we ordered the tiramisu and the sorbet. The food and the wine pairings were all so delicious, and the staff was extremely accommodating throughout our entire 3 hour dinner. Took clients to dinner here during a conference. Actually sat at a high top in the bar since we had 8 people attending. Services by Abby was exceptional, very friendly/bubbly and on top of it. Have some decent bottle wine selections. Management came by to say hello and to see if everything was going great. I like this touch! Selected the calamari, whipped buratta and brussels, which were all tasty. Atmosphere is good here as well. We were all pleased with the entrees as most chose the Halibut, very tasty and NOT overcooked; some places overcook it where it's to dry to eat. Overall good choice to hit up if you are in town. Worst thing is the restrooms are in the hotel down the stairs which is a hike. 4 stars because I've dined all over and have had some amazing Italian food; it's tough for me to give 5 stars but it was close. read more

PROS: 1) Great ambiance 2) Very good pinot noir on happy hour, some of the best I've had at that price point actually CONS: 1) My girlfriend and I shared the braised bison short rib, which was $39, very tough, and rather grisly. I picked the short rib specifically due to the price, figuring at that price that it would be tender and delicious. I was wrong. It was actually so bad that I couldn't eat much of it, and went to Chipotle afterwards for something better. It is worth noting that my girlfriend is far more easy to please when it comes to food quality than myself (as long as there's wine), and she had no complaints on the food. 2) At a nicer restaurant like this, I would have expected the wait staff to be more attentive/observant. I've been to cheaper restaurants where, in the rare event I eat almost nothing on my plate and have stopped eating, they deduce that something is wrong and ask about it. Once the food was dropped off, nobody came by for quite some time to check on us, and by the time they did, I didn't have much interest in getting something else and they didn't observe I had barely touched my dish. I just paid the bill and made a mental note never to go back. 3) Their pizza oven was out for the entire evening, but things like this happen, so I don't hold this one against them much at all. The 2-star review is driven far more by the items above. In summary, if you're looking for a place to go with great ambiance and wine, this may be a great choice. If you're looking for good food, you may be better off going elsewhere. read more

Brussels sprouts - crispy and flavorful - can be salty, would advise to ask for less salt, could vary on chef. carbonara pizza - perfectly flavored, not to salty from the prosciutto - good size for egg ratio unlike the full size Pizza Ai Fungi - Tons of mushrooms, good to share and sample other items on the menu Ragu - nothing special, small bowl Cheese and Meat Board, comes with 4 slices of toast, pickles veggies and olives - good balance Great wine selection - our server recommended a carafe for two or more - you get a few more ounces more. I came in for dinner with a large group of colleagues. Some of the people in my party were a total pain. They wanted to be seated together even though there weren't tables large enough to accommodate 15 of us. I felt really terrible about how entitled and rude some of my colleagues behaved. The restaurant manager and waitstaff were great. Thank you for your patience. We ordered many different appetizers and all our choices were delicious. The Brussels sprouts and calamari were a big hit. Then came the food.... All of the pasta dishes were so SALTY!! All of them. I lean towards salty but this food was over the top. I ordered the pappardelle and it was almost inedible, it had so much salt. I took really big swigs of my barbera wine to make it through the meal. The Barbera was excellent by the way. The tiramisu was stellar. All in all, I have to give this dining experience 3 stars. Excellent service, delicious wine, appetizers and dessert, but they completely missed the mark with the main courses. read more

FIRST AND FOREMOST: IF they have the Braciola Berkshire pork chop - I'm going need you to stop reading this review right now and just go order that. Really, just put the phone down. Order the tender deliciousness that comes on a bed of creamy polenta with a sweet mostarda and savory mushroom topping. Just... ohhh my. It's a stunner, and sure to impress. If you're not physically at Panzano, you may continue on reading my review. Secondly - This is one of my favorite happy hours in Denver. Panzano's brussel sprouts, and a good old fashioned, are really all you can ask for after a long day at the office. Just in case the idea of a carb-free liquor-based happy hour makes you feel a little twitchy, they also have a bread basket with the most fantastic sundried tomato and olive tapenade that you could bathe in (don't do it, though. It's not a good look). ALSO - If you need it, gluten-free bread options also available. Thirdly - The chef's revolving menu keeps things interesting with seasonal entree selections like Pepe Nero Fazzoletti (black pepper lobster pasta) and Linguini di Granchio (Wild Crab & Uni pasta, which honestly just reminds me of my favorite Vietnamese dish, Bun Rieu. It's briny but well balanced). Last but not least - Panzano is by no means "a good value." It's not that hard to walk out of this place with a check for $50+/person for just shared appetizers and drinks. There have been quite a few times where my initial reaction when the check appeared was "how the hell did we manage that?!" Nonetheless, if you're looking for a nice night out and don't mind dropping a few extra "pennies"- I highly recommend it. read more

Where to start on this Italian gem downtown?! First off, I've only been during lunch (twice now) so I can only attest to their lunch service, but man, it's so indulgently delicious! But it's that kind of good where you dream about having dinner there. I love love love the open kitchen. Being a foodie, there is nothing more enjoyable than to see chefs at work! The servers are exceptional considering how busy they are during the lunch hour. They pay attention to every detail and you are never left wanting anything. My first time eating there was with a group from work so, unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of anything. But we had the calamari, Brussels sprouts, a bread basket with the olive tapenade as appetizers and all were delicious! That olive spread is really something! I wish they would bottle it and sell it! Especially paired with their herb focaccia bread! For that lunch I had the bolognese which was pretty good. However... My 2nd time eating there was today and it was just me and my boyfriend (so it was indulgent and pics galore!) Oh, and side note, they always have daily specials not on the menu that all sound amazing! There's usually a soup of the day, a specialty entree and a fish of the day. Well, today my BF opted for the special of the day which was the Chicken Marsala over a bed of risotto. If anyone is reading this today, don't look any further and just order it! For me, I went a little wild as the soup of the day was Roasted Red Pepper soup, and if you do the power lunch you get an appetizer, an entree and some house truffles. It's actually a really good deal, and super filling. I took the truffles to go, so no pictures, sorry. My entree was the Scallopini di Pollo and it was even more flavorful than the description. I highly recommend this dish! All in all, it's pricey. But don't go with a budget and just enjoy your food and service, because it's honestly worth every penny and then some. Literally the best breakfast! Came 7:30 on a weekday morning, there's a grab n go section where you can get quick coffee and pastries. It is attached to a hotel so there was a lot of business travelers having a nice breakfast to get the day started. It was so fresh and I felt healthy eating everything I ordered! Got the beet juice that tastes sweet and yummy I really enjoyed it. Also the mushroom and asparagus omelet with goat cheese. Compliments to the chef! The dish had nice flavor but as far as a stand alone dish, the texture was just too mushy; soft egg over a thick soft polenta disc. I wish the polenta was cooked crunchy on the outside to provide more contrast just as a toasted english muffin could provide. Service was good and very hospitable. 3.5 Stars for Food. 4 Stars for Service. Overall, good spot especially for travelers. read more

I work down the street from Panzanos and I'm so happy I do! They have a great happy hour - I'd recommend any of the pizzas as well as the calamari. They're even open early if you wanted to grab breakfast there as well. They have several private rooms there so if you needed to host a work or personal event here - I'd check it out! Reviews seemed good but everyone who ever has been would say eh it's ok and now I know why...firstly seated we just get asked what type of water we want and never asked for drinks, apps anything we finally hailed waiter down and asked for drinks and ordered apps. We got the calamari which was ok and the focaccia with some weird dip that was gross. The bread was grilled but stale and cold. Ordered our salads which are big we asked and waiter said standard small side salad and we could have easily shared 2-3 for 5-6 people. Our entrees took FOREVER to come the waiter kept saying few more minutes for awhile finally got the entrees and the bolognese was small not much plating or to be desired of it. The chicken and gnocchi looked good, the scallops and risotto looked pretty but was salty as was the Ribeye with potatoes and Broccolini it was sooooo salty I couldn't finish it at all. Price tag on bill was over $300 for 5 people and service and food was all disappointing. I wish I chose somewhere else to spend my bday. read more

Food was fine but not for the prices. What compels me to write this is the really crappy service. We were there for a 7:30 tuesday dinner 5.25.21 for friend's birthday. The waiter was awful. It felt as if he couldn't be bothered at that time to provide a decent service or explain the menu. Was it because there was 8 of us and they closed at 9pm? Thought he would have to work past the closing time? I still tipped him the 20% because I am not oblivious to the covid situation, but in hindsight he deserved nothing given his attitude. Management should take note and manage their staff and the "service" they provide to the guests. Will not be going or recommending this place. What a disappointment! read more
