Yikes! The food was a disaster. For appetizers we ordered the flatbread which was ok. However, we ordered the veal scallopini and the pastiche as our main course. The veal rubbery, discolored and flavorless. The pastiche smelled like dog food covered in tomato sauce. The overall experience was disappointing. Dirty carpets and overpriced. What a find! We were looking for a place with good pasta after a long day at a conference. This place hit the spot! We didn't have a reservation so we sat at the bar, but service was great. "Jimbo" our server was very supportive and great at recommending dishes. I loved the interactive wine menu on the iPad. I had the Pastiche (1/2 order) and the carbonara (1/2 order) and both were incredible. The Brussels sprouts and calamari for an appetizer is great too! Will be back! read more

I met friends and colleagues for happy hour and it was great. Atmosphere was good. Service was elite. Drinks were simple but classy. The re-imagined margarita concept was a hit. My fiancé and I have been dining here since we met in high school (7 years). We have dined at endless new, trendy, hip and well rated restaurants (Fruition, Elway's, Kevin Taylor's, 1515, etc.) and Panzano is the only restaurant that we continue to dine at. It starts with the extremely personable and down right love-able staff, this includes Lori, Papa and Dimitri. Next comes their house made breads, the Focaccia is what dreams are made of. Paired with the daily soup makes a creamy, sometimes delicately cheesy, delight. It is an absolute must that you start with the Brussel Sprouts. A some what bitter vegetable was no challenge for Chef Elise (who I have asked to meet before lol), who transformed them into a crispier less-starchy and slightly-sweet french fry. Remember when pork and apples were a thing? Well Brussel Sprouts with an apple cider reduction, pistachios and fresh Granny Smith slices are leaps and bounds better and will stick around a lot longer too. Follow this up with the a half order of the above mentioned soup (and if you're feeling real crazy a half order of the grilled Caesar salad). My fiancé loves the Carbonara. What I must highlight is Panzano's endless options for those that follow a vegetarian diet. It is one of the few places that I can enjoy all the best they have to offer without special instruction. But, the few times I've ventured outside of my unusual they are always exceedingly accommodating to my dietary restrictions. I personally enjoy either the Eggplant or Lasagna! To finish it out we love to share a black Lavazza americano with a piece of Tiramisu (which used to be made with gelatin, but somehow now excludes the non-vegetarian friendly ingredient). All of this comes to about ~$100, but come for their happy hour and enjoy almost all of it for a lot less! I was so excited to try this restaurant out but it didn't impress me anywhere near what I thought it would. The waitress was super busy and not attentive at all. Not what you would expect from a restaurant like this. The food itself was ok. It wasn't served hot but barely lukewarm. The crime brûlée was excellent and was the best part of the meal. There are too many other restaurants in Denver to go to with excellent food and service. Don't waste your time on this one. read more

For dinner, the lobster pasta and pasta bolognese were ok, piled on salt and didnt gace mich flavor. Bring your own wine of you want good wine without spending $120 plus on a bottle. We dined here on 12/30/2017 and we had fantastic service! Our drinks were never empty and our food came in perfect timing. The restaurant is located adjacent to/connected within the Hotel Monaco which offers Valet Parking (I didn't drive and didn't catch if they offer Validation at Panzano). We started with the bruschetta and brussels sprouts and they were both perfect. The brussels especially deserve a shout out because they were cooked well, not too salty, and balanced out with a shaving of green apple on top - delightful! We also tried the Pesce Fresco (salmon with pesto risotto..to die for), the Cioppino (decent), the Pollo Arrosto (meat was cooked well but the risotto is not as good as the pesto that comes with the salmon), and the Doppio Ravioli which was our least favorite of the dishes. All of their pastas are home made and as a result weren't as tender as we were hoping, but the service greatly made up for it. 10/10 will return again! read more

Sunday Brunch - The restaurant has just been remodeled. The atmosphere is nice, but I found the brunch menu limited. The waiter was very confused between gluten free vs. dairy free. In face, I had to share with him that gluten meant wheat and dairy meant milk. The service was the worst I have yet experienced in Denver. My partner's pasta was embarrassing for this restaurant. We tried to return it, but the waiter only came back to deliver the check. Wont be back. read more

This is one of Denver's top resturants that is always on my top 10 list year after year. The remodel brought the interior up to par with the food. Chef Elise Wiggins has put together an amazing menu. I took two out-of-town family members here and had the 5 course chef's tasing menu, which was amazing. When you chose to take family or friends to Panzano your excellent palate for good food is evident. Again, the chef's tasing menu is excellent and offers 5 different items so you have a variety of Wiggins excellent menu. Service was attentive without being intrusive which is the sign of a good waitstaff. I like to enter the resturant through the attached beautiful lobby of the Hotel Monacco --the doorman is a nice touch of class . read more

Had a great meal here for our anniversary. The appetizer (Piadina con Crescenza) was the only disappointment. I just didn't care for the flavor and textures of this dish. Our salads though were outstanding...the grilled Caesar and the Jewel salads. Entrees were Pappardelle alla Bolognese , which my spouse loved and I had a pork chop T-bone with apple butter and green apple shavings with cinnamon maple potato gnocchi. Oh My! Delicious!!!!! Desert was good, not great. Waitress was outstanding. Would be 5 starts but the bill for 2 people was $125...ouch. read more

My husband and I have been here three times and each time the service is leaps and bounds above any restaurant and the food...well, the food is to die for. We joined for restaurant week. For the cost of the meal, it was a great showing of what they had to offer. Portions were pretty small for most dishes. I'm not sure if they were smaller than what you'd get normally. I'd bet not. The scallop entrée had 2 medium sized scallops and not much else. The lamb dish was biggest, but still small. Still an amazing place to eat! We l don't live in the metro area so when we get a chance to make it to "the city" eating out is always a treat! Panzano has always been (and probably always will be) one of our top choices! This place had been my favorite spot for awhile, but I think it is time to move on. I work across the street and live just a few blocks away so had been coming in on a weekly bases. More and more the quality of service is slipping and it's becoming very hit or miss. If you are going for lunch or breakfast I'd say expect 4 or 5 stars, happy hour maybe a 3, and dinner don't bother. This past month we stopped in 3 different nights for dinner all total disappointment. Our most recent trip was on New Year's Eve. Our reservation was for 10:15 we showed up early (9:30)figuring if we couldn't be seated early we would grab drinks in the bar. We checked with the hostess and were told our table wouldn't be ready until the scheduled time (10:15), not a problem we then headed to the bar area. We lucked out and found a table, but after 10 mins of waiting still no sign of the waitress. We finally managed to flag her down ordered drinks and an app. The app ( Brussels sprouts) came out really fast and tasted great, but after 25 of waiting we still had no drinks. We realized we were getting close to our reservation time so decided to give up on the drinks, closed our tab, and moved over to the restaurant side. We got there again right on time and then stood there waiting and waiting and waiting for 25 mins after our reservation time to be seated. The hostess was extremely apologetic and obviously New Years is going to be a crazy night, but this experience sadly was very similar to all our other dinner experiences lately. As far as food it's always good, but definitely notice a better quality during the slower times. And really the big issue is service, during slow times it's top notch, but if at all busy it's horrible, disappointing, and really not worth the price. read more

I've been here a few times and always come back. I went in to Panzano recently and sat at the bar. The restaurant seemed somewhat busy but my bartender (Alonna) (sp) was very friendly and attentive. Had the best dinner here with my family and another friend's family! Everything was delicious (must get the brussel sprouts and tiramisu!) and the service impeccable. I was lucky enough to get a reservation through Open Table on a Saturday morning for Saturday evening so it's not too snooty to get into either! This has been one of our favorite Denver restaurants for years. I found out Elise Wiggins is no longer chef, but went anyway and definitely not as good as it has been in past. If you're in downtown Denver, head further down the street. Although, I probably would have given more stars if I was able to try to the food. We had made an 8:30 reservation which we called earlier in the day to change to 8:45. The host who answered was nice and said no issues. We got there at 9 after dressing up and walking there, excited for a romantic dinner. We were greeted by the hostess who was super sweet and said she's show us to or table "no problem, just one minute" where she then disappeared and later her manager came out. He informed us that they had closed and couldn't do anything for us. He recommended some chain restaurants for us. Having been a hostess myself I was floored and shocked at the unprofessional nature. The hostess could have mentioned earlier when I called that they close at 9 or could have called when they were closing to save us from walking all the way there. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we were able to walk down to Union Station and have an incredible meal at Mercantile by a staff that was pleased to have us! 10/10 would recommend them above this (: read more

This place is amazing. My husband and I have been here about four times. It is definitely a special occasion type of place. The food is consistently excellent, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and very accommodating for my food allergy (Celiac disease). There are some consistent items on the menu, but it changes enough so that every time we return to dine, we have many new dishes to choose from. The alcohol list is extensive, and if you need help navigating it, the staff can easily guide you. They really have perfected Italian gluten free fine dining. read more
