The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. They use haddock fillet for the Fish & Chips, which was fried to perfection. The Wedge Salad is what actually knocked my socks off! This was one of the best wedge salads that I've ever had. It had your key ingredients: iceberg, buttermilk dressing, red onion, crumbled egg, tomato, bacon gastrique, blue cheese, dill, chives - but something about this salad was different! It was so refreshing, flavorful--just everything you want in a dish. We ended the dining experience with their Peach Cobbler Hand Pie, which came with streusel, pistachio crumble, salted caramel, and vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to go back when I'm in the area!

It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. My wife is a Dorector in the Hospitality industry and she loves giving extra. I understand the struggle but if she was as charismatic as Kori she could make more and really add to the restaurant. We started with appetizers: mussels ($23) and braised lamb belly ($25). For the main course, we ordered a ribeye steak ($69), Scottish salmon ($46), and "dirty pasta" ($36). Drinks included a glass of wine ($17) and a glass of Coke ($4.50). With tax ($23.15) and an "employee benefits" charge ($5.51), the total came to $249.16 before gratuity. The mussels are cooked in a broth of white wine, nduja sausage, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and parsley, with a toasted baguette served on the side. I liked the overall taste of the dish, but the mussels were small. The braised lamb belly was an interesting dish, as it was served with kimchi and thin sheets of daikon radish on the side. I assumed the idea was to make a "taco" by combining the three components. I liked it, though the lamb had bit of gaminess which might not appeal to everyone. The ribeye plate comes as steak only, with sides available à la carte. The steak was cooked nicely--juicy and flavorful, though I was a bit surprised by how rich it tasted. The "dirty pasta" features large rigatoni, ground duck, ricotta, and sauce. It was good, and the duck made for an interesting change from the usual beef. As a complete plated meal, I think the Scottish salmon was impressive--both for its visual presentation and the taste of the meal as a whole. The restaurant floor has a split-level design. Upon entering, you'll find a large oval bar surrounded by tables and booths. Step down a level, and there are seats offering views of the Long Beach marina. This area with a view is protected by windows--which is good, as the marine air is often cool and breezy. It seems that nearly all the establishments owned by this restaurant group have names starting with the letter or word "A." When searching online, use the words "a pch restaurant," as "a pch" alone is apparently too vague a search term. A final note to management: I was surprised to see a $5.51 charge for "employee benefit" on our bill. I playfully asked our server what benefits this covered, but they didn't know. They mentioned it could be removed if I objected, but I chose not to. My point is, if you're charging diners, shouldn't your staff be able to explain it? And if the line item can be so easily discharged, maybe you shouldn't be adding it in the first place.

I am glad that I finally got to dine in at this place; however, it is for special occasions only (in my book) as it came to 115.00 for 2 (before tip) & that was with no alcoholic beverages (just soda). I did notice on their website that they have "oyster hour" (happy hour with oysters) 6 days a week so I'd definitely like to try that with more reasonable pricing!

It did taste like slight parm, which, even if a little bit more Parmesan was added, maybe this would've tasted a bit better. But apparently all the Parmesan was reserved only for the salads. (This dish was supposed to have a duck base, but this was not cooked properly) not only was I simply turned off by this dish, there was nobody by to help or even get it to go box. But quite honestly, I just left the food which is so sad. Left over pasta is always so good but I really could not continue eating this as I truly did not enjoy the taste. I left hungry and sadly disappointed.

Now that's world class customer service and surely tip well generously. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The server changed the tip amount on my bill after I signed it. Only had two drinks and tipped appropriately ,but when I checked my statement later, I noticed that the amount had been altered and was significantly higher than what I wrote. This is absolutely unacceptable and borders on theft. I called the restaurant to address the issue, but they did nothing to resolve it. This kind of behavior is not only unethical, but it also ruins the trust between customers and businesses. I will never be coming back, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place unless you want to risk being scammed. read more

This was our first time at this restaurant. We stopped bye on Christmas Day and the food was amazing. I definitely recommend the ceviche or guacamole for appetizer. For dinner we ordered fish and shrimp tacos. Plentiful proportions to say the least. My wife and I ordered margaritas for dessert! We're staying at the Hilton Long Beach and walked over from our hotel. William and his staff made us feel right at home. I definitely will be coming back when I'm in the LBC area. I was so hungry that we ordered 2 appetizers for my 2 friends and me. I was doubting on having the taco platter, thanks God i asked my server Julia and she recommended to order the 2 tacos plate, which was phenomenal cause i was full with the surf and turf, but my other friend who eats more than me, he was placed that he had the taco platter. I decided to go to Long beach for a date night with my husband... Luckily we went to Next door, because of the good reviews on this app. We got the taco platter and taquitos de camaron for the two of us and was perfect. The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood.

I'll have to try their breakfast burritos one of these days. Apparently, they're recognized as being on the top 5 list in Long Beach for them. They have about 7 tables that can be moved around on the sand and patio area. A big jungle gym is right next to it as well as restrooms with soap and toilet paper fully stocked! Order at the window and they'll call your order when it's ready in minutes.

I understand they have a breakfast buffet so at some point in time I am going to go back and try that. It server was exceptional very warm and helpful, we went for my birthday so they have me a dessert, tiramisu.
