Service: Came for Sunday brunch. Mimosas are weak and pre made. Never brought waters, got our found with no silverware. Food: horrid super cold you can tell it's pre-cooked and prob sitting around since the day before. My meat was that color where you can see the fat turn white so gross. (Chilaquiles with asada) The ambience is great and although the staff seem lost, they were very nice. Would def not be back even tho I live on the same block

The food was good! Could use a little more spicy was but overall delicious. The ambiance is great! Lots of great Spanish music to fit the theme of the restaurant. Will come back.

This restaurant is located in downtown Long Beach and they have a parking structure nearby that you can park for free for the first 2 hours. (I didn't know until I paid for my meter parking) The only thing is that there's a bunch of different names for this restaurant, so it's really hard to find. There's a lounge connected to it that's called Agaves I think, idk the whole naming situation is super confusing. Taquitos ($12) - I really liked the presentation of the chicken taquitos and it was pretty delicious. I am usually not a big fan of beans, but they had a bean puree and it had a consistency of a thicker sauce and it was pretty good. The only thing is that the bottom of the tower got soggy from the bean puree and the taquitos weren't as crunchy. Steak Fajitas ($25) - OMG, this is a must get. For the portion they give you, it is definitely worth the money. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the veggies were so flavorful. They weren't too soggy and still had a nice texture to it. It also comes with a side of rice, beans, guac, salsa, and sour cream, however, I substituted my beans for more rice and it was a power move. You can definitely share this entree with another person. Overall, this was a solid Mexican restaurant. The inside is a bit small but they have outdoor patio seating as well. The bar was pretty cool and aesthetically pleasing and on theme. Only thing was the naming situation was so confusing cuz you can barely see 'next door'.

2 x $5 happy hour tacos (super small!)

Y'ALL. This place has happy hour ALL DAY Tuesday and ALL DAY Wednesday. I repeat-- ALL DAY. This is not a drill!! I appreciated this deal for Taco Tuesday, but honestly those tacos were a bit small for my taste. The food was good, the drinks were served by attentive staff which I appreciated! They even have outdoor seating, where we brought our 30lb 5 month puppy and a 15lb poodle mix. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because we're in Southern California, and there's a lot of competition for good tacos. While I thought these were decent tasting, they didn't seem like anything to write home about, so I'm reserving a star for the truly epic food that's out there. The ambiance was pretty oriented to our location, DTLB in case you're looking for a party. But we just wanted some tacos so that didn't really apply to us.

I come to Long Beach once every three months for work and I decided to check out the Happy Hour at NextDoor (at Agaves) based on the reviews here. I passed a number of restaurants prominently displaying their happy hours along Pine on my way to this restaurant. When I got to NextDoor there was only one other party eating dinner there. The happy hour table top signs that you can see in a number of the reviews below were nowhere to be seen. I should've probably turned around and gone back to the Spanish tapas place which was very busy, but I decided I didn't want to support a colonial themed restaurant tonight so I decided to stay. I asked specifically about their happy hour. Yannin very graciously offered me a margarita for seven dollars and two carnita tacos for five. Both items were delicious. I ordered the house salad too, but it was unfortunately not as good. The spring greens mix was fresh, but it was too lightly dressed with a guava vinaigrette, that I could barely taste, and there were no apples in it as the menu described. I wondered if the chef was newish or not totally present. And then, I wondered if the space wasn't really a restaurant. Anyway, I feel terrible for not being able to leave a better review since Yannin was so kind. The decor was also festive and modern. It was just sort of weird being there all by myself.

Very nice ambiance, service was great, food was good and drinks were on point. However, $18 for a Cadillac Margarita though? That's a little too much.

I had a great lunch at this spot today, I found it on Yelp and all the food looked good so we went, Me and my boyfriend. He he got the asada steak, I got the taquitos, guacamole and 2 spicy margaritas and he had a michelada . ( jalapeño margarita and she made me a custom spicy strawberry one) all the food and drinks was 10/10!!!! My server holly was so sweet and professional! I liked her a lot. And she knows how to mix drinks that taste good. I'm so happy with the service and I'll be back!

My boyfriend and I paid 20$ each to get in. I bought a drink and immediately got in line for the bathroom. As soon as I got in the bathroom someone was BANGING on the door and when I got out I was assaulted by their security. I am a 5'4 135lb woman. I have a bruise/bump on my forehead and my elbow is hurt from your "security" punching me in the side of my head AND ripping my drink I just bought out of my hand after beating the shit out of me and my boyfriend and throwing us out the side door. We did nothing wrong. I reached out to the owner and I am waiting for a response.

    Agave nachos with chorizo

My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant for happy hour as a break when I was moving into my apartment here in Long Beach. With such great reviews, we had to check it out. We ordered a strawberry margarita, which was delicious and strong!! They also give complimentary chips and salsa, so we definitely took advantage as we were starving. We also ordered the agave nachos with chorizo and the chicken quesadilla. While the nachos were delicious, the chips were really soggy by the end. The chicken quesadilla was so good! It had a little spice and lots of flavor. The guacamole and salsa on the side were perfect accompaniments to the spicy and cheesy quesadilla. I'll definitely come back for taco Tuesday!!

    Pre-made Michelada
    Mimi L.

Came in on Cinco de Mayo Sunday, place was very lively and extremely loud because of the dance club next door. I didn't know this Mexican restaurant, bar and dance club until now. They had a special holiday menu all day and a pre-made Michelada. I wanted my usual Modelo Michelada but our server said the pre-made one was the same. It tasted very light and refreshing but I usually prefer heavier ones. This restaurant and bar is very comfy and cozy with tall top booth seatings inside and regular booth outside. I really wanted to stay and have a few more drinks but the music was so loud to the point it was unbearable. Glad our guacamole came out fast and it was so fresh and tasty, chips and salsa were very yummy too. We were rushing to finish our one round of drinks and snack food so we could leave this unbelievably loud place! I really liked this Mexican restaurant and bar but it was a bad time to come in on Cinco de Mayo. Snack food was yummy, our server was very friendly and fast, we will be back soon for more food and drinks on a normal day!

    Jennifer H.

Service = great! Music = poppin'! Went in a Friday night but didn't have to wait long for a table! It was around 930pm. The dancing started a bit later and that's when the crowds started coming in. The music was great, I was just dancing at my table! Only thing is I prefer my margaritas blended

He was kind, polite, and carried himself with such warmth -- and yes, those curls were beautiful. He set the tone for the entire experience. Demetrius seated us, and our server Joe took great care of us. For starters, we ordered the wedge salad and the meatballs. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we had the grilled salmon with bok choy and mashed potatoes, and the steak sandwich with French fries. Everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The ambience was wonderful. They have a full bar, and you can watch the chefs prepare dishes right from your table, which adds to the experience. I also appreciated seeing the general manager actively running food and engaging with guests -- leadership like that shows. Another thing that stood out was how clean and organized the restaurant stayed. The moment a table was vacated, it was cleared and reset within minutes. Everything looked spotless. There's so much on the menu that I want to come back and try. I highly recommend this place. And last but definitely not least -- thank you, Demetrius, for noticing my parking time had expired and getting me that extra 15 minutes. You saved me a ticket. You're a true gem. I'll be back to Saint & Second very soon.

The Bake Mac & Cheese is a must-order--the crunchy topping is easily the best part and gives it such a great texture. We also tried the Grilled Provoleta. The 1st-floor outdoor patio is super comfortable and dog-friendly, making it the perfect spot to relax. Highly recommend if you're in Long Beach with your pup! Tell me to meet you somewhere and I'll be there. Simple as that and less stress for me. Anyways, that's how we ended up at this place. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

One visit we waited over 40 minutes without being acknowledged, another time our order came out wrong, and another time the food arrived cold like it had been sitting for quite a while. Because of that, I honestly did not want to come back tonight. But I was craving a good steak, and after my husband suggested giving 908 another try, I reluctantly agreed. I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. We were genuinely shocked to learn this was his first night shift because he handled the dining room with professionalism, warmth, and confidence far beyond what we expected. Thank you, Alex S, for completely changing our impression of 908. Tonight's experience was excellent, and for the first time, we are actually excited to come back. Thanks again, Jed Dornoff
