The food here has NO FLAVOR, and the service was really BAD. The owners were RUDE, especially their daughter Samantha who was serving us super disrespectful. A friend told me to try this place, but it was a huge letdown. I also saw what looked like underage (the owner's teen) and her boyfriend working there who are from Woodrow Wilson, which might explain why the food was badly wrapped and just overall sloppy. Really disappointed and concerning how the owner let minors working here!!! TERRIBLE especially we ordered carne asada burritos etc and seem to been thrown and just wrapped up!

I can't believe I found a roach in my food! That's absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The owner of Family Segovia was drunk, and the staff couldn't even serve us properly because they were all wasted. They didn't care at all when I complained. If you can't keep your kitchen clean and your staff sober, you shouldn't be in the food business. Never going back!

Me and my man after going to the aquarium wanted seafood-- sorry little fishies.. so we looked up some places and he picked this one. And we didn't have any expectations but, wow Tanya is amazing! She gave us some recommendations and even checked in with us at really nice timing. Helped me to decent what to order. To which the food is very good and the drink are amazing too! Cute little photo op spots in the restaurant too!

Large Mexican restaurant in downtown Long Beach, specializing in seafood. We had a show next door, so decided to finally stop by Mariscos Los Buchones for dinner beforehand on a Thursday. We walked, but did see later that they have ample parking to the north with reserved spots for the restaurant (clearly marked and enterable via the alley). It is located on the NW corner of 7th and Long Beach Blvd, and has tinted glass so one can't see inside from the street (we've walked by this location many times, and it just looks closed). But inside, it is quite nice: spacious with plenty of different types of seating, and opportunity for quite a few more if needed...or even a banquet party if necessary. There are dedicated speakers throughout as well, and it was blaring music (in Spanish) throughout. It was empty when we came at 6, so plenty of places to sit were there. Got a booth near a window, and quickly realized the great views of Long Beach on 7th Street (the Metro goes through Long Beach Blvd and 7th Street is a very busy (and fast) thoroughfare), via the tinted, one-way glass. Just sitting there in such a nice environment, naturally ups your expectations. We were given complementary chips and salsa immediately when we sat down, and both were very solid. Seafood can be expensive and a bit risky if you are going to be sitting still for the next 3 hours, so we went conservative. Wife had the 3 taquitos dinner ($13.99) with shredded beef, and she found it to be quite good. It was freshly made, topped with mishmash of vegetables and crema. The rice was good, and I really liked the refried beans (I finished it, which I rarely do). I really wanted seafood, so decided to order a sample of all 4 of their seafood tacos a la carte: none of them stood out. The Estilo Ensenada ($3.99) has choice of fish or shrimp: I ordered the shrimp but got the fried fish instead, which turned out to be just fine. It had the most toppings of all of the tacos, served openfaced, and it was good. The Enchilado Con Queso ($4.5) was openfaced with shrimp, a very hot tomatoey sauce on top of melted cheese. The Taco Gobernador ($3.99) was shrimp with mixed grilled vegetables: reminded me of eating a shrimp fajita. Finally, I need to stop ordering marlin tacos ($3.99) from now...am always disappointed since I am expecting it to be when I had fresh marlin steak in FL, and it's not like that. It's basically marlin shredded like canned tuna would be, stuffed into a taco. Service was OK: it's just hard to give great service when things are planned to be slow (and end up being so)...and the number of staff is matched to it. Our food came VERY quickly (as it tends to happen in a well run Mexican restaurant), but didn't see our server for a long time after that. Our server was pleasant enough throughout, and we were not in a hurry, so it was OK. It was a good place to hang out a bit before our show.

On the corner of Long Beach blvd, an authentic Mexican restaurant serves chips and salsa, friendly service and good music. This isn't your American-Mexican restaurant with a long menu, come to eat great menu items at a decent price. Samantha greeted us with attentive service and smile, they have a large dining area, cool photo op area and touch tunes jukebox to play your own music. Enjoy the ambiance, savor the flavor and try your pallet at Los Buchones

I had high expectations from the reviews but WORST EXPIRE SEAFOOD EVER!!! Service was nice but the food is medicore family Segovia were unprofessional and drunk while serving food at night never coming back again especially I brought children with me! Also they make fake accounts to cover bad reviews AND they offer you something free for a "good reviews" to cover their bad reviews

Best mariscos in long beach i recommend this place great service and seafood the food is great

    Carne Asada

The food here is horrible and lacks a lot of flavor which is bad! The server Samantha Segovia is such a rude person especially the food was cold which I almost waited an hour for my food and had to bring their attention about my plate where they forgot to bring it to us and asked to write a good review for free modelos to cover up their mistake! Can't believe they want to buy me like that!

woooow! I just moved to the neighborhood and this is my first time in the restaurant and I am surprised of the bad reviews. Food and service is excellent and I will say this is one of the cleanest restaurant I ever been in .. loved it & highly recommend!

Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

KIN Thai Cuisine in Long Beach off Broadway is a really solid spot…read more Parking is available, but it is limited, so just keep that in mind depending on the time you go. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary

The atmosphere is always warm, welcoming, and consistently top-tier, but what truly makes this restaurant special is the hospitality. Tonight, I ordered the halibut and enjoyed a martini at the bar, and everything was exceptional. My bartender, Ben, was attentive, personable, and made an excellent recommendation. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality, which made the experience even better. I also want to recognize Ethan, who brought out my food. Ethan was incredibly hospitable and thoughtful from start to finish. He complimented my order choice, made sure I had everything I needed, and even circled back after I had taken a few bites to make sure I was enjoying my meal. That level of attentiveness truly makes guests feel valued. What I appreciate most about Nick's is that no matter how busy the restaurant gets, the staff always makes you feel like you're the most important guest in the room. Tell me to meet you somewhere and I'll be there. Simple as that and less stress for me. Anyways, that's how we ended up at this place. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

We were originally placed in a booth, but that would have been rough moving around for seconds and thirds. There was also a child with the carrier not able to be fit around the table. Our table was seated right in front of the singer, yet we felt completely overlooked the entire evening. We never received basic items like bread, water refills, extra napkins, or even straws unless we repeatedly tried to flag someone down. When our calamari arrived, it was missing something as simple as lemon, and getting our waitress's attention to fix it was nearly impossible. She was extremely difficult to find throughout the night--it honestly felt like we didn't have a server at all. The lack of attentiveness made the whole experience frustrating and uncomfortable. It was clear the outdoor area was understaffed, but that doesn't excuse the level of service we received. On top of that, the food was overpriced for the quality. You're essentially paying for the view, not the dining experience. You're better off at the Cheesecake Factory where the prices match the quality of food and the service is exceedingly better. It was exhausting looking for our waitress. It would've been nice to have a manager making their rounds to voice an opinion to in real time. I also want to mention the hostess with dark brown hair in a low bun, who came across as rude and dismissive for no apparent reason, which set a negative tone from the beginning. My twin sister and I were trying to seat our party together and she just didn't seem accommodating but just dismissive. I had heard great things about a server named Ashley from others in my party, and I really wish we had been seated in her section. Based on this experience, I won't be returning or recommending this place to others.
