I love a few things here and my favorite is the breakfast burrito. It's a nice healthy size. I get the bacon but add sausage and get em with the hash brown option. It's sooooo tasty and hearty that I can usually save some for later. Today I stopped for their deal for Taco Tuesday. They have 2 dollar Tacos. I got carne asada and chicken both were very tasty and again a good portion for a street taco deal. Their juices here are great too ! I'm not a chip person but these made in house are so damn addicting.

This place is soo yummy and they serve one of the best Micheladas in town! Service is always great and the vibe is chill. Chicken nachos were bomb- cheesy+ lots of protein! Parking: street parking.

Really good and underrated little spot. My favorite is the chile verde plate. They've been nice enough to make it in burrito form for me. Carnitas plate is delicious too. Service is great, very mom and pop and super friendly. Inside dining is super loud, it's like a party, but if you're like me, you'll appreciate the much quieter patio. Just be warned that parking is a nightmare. They do have a lot that's shared with another business and has three spots, one of which is a differently abled spot. I'm lucky to be able to walk.

What can I say as this was stop number 2 on Cinco de Mayo Monday and one of many great hole in the wall taquerias in Long Beach. If my colleague who lives in the neighborhood had not told me about this gem I would have not known about it. The lovely senora who took our order and served us was a hoot as we had two Coronas and She thought I had asked for an empty pitcher but I was asking for the bano (bathroom). She hands me with the key to the bathroom attached to a long serving spoon. We both laughed as I pretended to use the spoon to playfully pretend to hit her. Despite the boarded up window which is sometimes the norm in many cities, our food which we shared was wholesome, flavorful and. Nicely presented. Low number of reviews is from what I was told by my colleague was due to new ownership. 5 solid stars and Highly recommend this corner taqueria if you are on 7th street.

Ok so I don't have any pictures of the inside or outside for reference but the food photos just have to do! This place has new owner ship and the ladies are always so nice and really know how to throw down in that kitchen. Love getting their chicken enchilada plates and throwing some of their spicy habanero sauce on top for that extra spice some of y'all like me love! Side note: only flaw is that there really isn't any parking. You gotta park in the street. With that being said....worth looking for some parking for this authentic food.

Spectacular Mexican food! I'm so glad TikTok recommended this place because I may have never…read morestumbled upon it otherwise! I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! You can't go wrong with Mexican food!

Not impressed by anything we ordered, given the competition locally…read more I will drive to Acton, CA (124 miles round trip) for their chicken tortilla soup ... bringing back 3 quarts of it after our meal is done. The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

In addition to all those basic menu items they have some stellar creations. I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

If you can afford a steak, you eat the steak, if not cut that one steak and make burritos not much meat, make tacos, less meat, make flautas/taqueros, less than that quesadillas with some meat. You get what i mean. But this high end Mexican restaurant made me a liar! This high end Mexican restaurant doesn't make poor food, this place make food for kings! Every dish is savory every order id above and beyond, to even sit in this wonderful place you feel the like this is what the rich must eat in Mexico, no my friend this is elegance the service is as if your a celebrity and they are working had to keep your business. The ambiance: Walking in decore, the furniture make you feel like a wealthy rancher like Kevin Costner will walk in at any time. Packed almost always. The food: beyond description but I will try. When ever you see café dela hoja, order it! I came to Tequila Jack's in Long Beach on Sunday morning with my partner. I ordered the huevos…read morerancheros, while my partner ordered the beef sandwich and a Paloma. Unfortunately, the huevos rancheros were pretty underwhelming. They came with two over-easy eggs over a tortilla that was very soggy. I personally prefer the tortilla to have some crispness so you can actually bite into it and get that contrast in texture, but this one was completely soft underneath the eggs and sauce. The ranchero sauce itself was very basic and plain. It wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything particularly flavorful or memorable about it. The beans were fine, but I didn't care for the rice. My partner's beef sandwich was actually decent and probably the better of the two dishes, although it still wasn't anything extraordinary. He also ordered a Paloma, but unfortunately that was disappointing as well. He could really taste what seemed like lower-quality alcohol, and overall the drink tasted mostly like watered-down Squirt rather than a well-balanced Paloma. Overall, nothing was necessarily terrible, but the experience was pretty average. I was hoping for more flavor and better textures from the food, and a better-balanced cocktail. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out enough to make the meal memorable. The staff and waiter were nice and pleasant and restrooms were clean.
