Taco Truck
Flora W.

It was a cold January night in Long Beach. To celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, I got us tickets to see a comedy show at the Laugh Factory. When I was researching what restaurants were around the Laugh Factory, I found there are food trucks right outside. I decided this is the place to be! There were multiple taco trucks down the street. We chose Tacos El Trompo and we are so glad we did! By far, the Asada Burrito and the Asada Quesadilla were probably the best I've had from a taco truck. I have a lot of respect for food truck owners who hustle every day and this team sure does! The food was hot and delicious. It smelled amazing and it was even better eating it on the sidewalk on a cold night. My boyfriend and I shared these two items. I usually can't finish my half but this time I did! It was THAT good I had to eat it all! Haha! Next time I'm in Long Beach, we'll definitely plan to visit Tacos El Trompo again. We both can't wait!

NTT Indy Car Grand Prix Long Beach occupied original food truck area on shoreline. All food truck seem to move to nearby street or gone for the time being. Tacos El Trompo is the only one in the area today. We really want some Mexican food truck. I am so glad to find Tacos El Trompo truck there. We ordered following items: Chicken Quesadilla - decent with large portion 2Beef Mulitas - good taste Shrimp Cocktail with Chips - Excellent 2 Esquites - tasty 3 Fish Tacos - Ok Fish Ceviche -Ok Asada Nachos- good 2 Jarriots soda and Sprite While waiting many people ordered their Asada Fries They have excellent spicy hot sauce. If you like spicy they have the sauce you want. Food was prep quickly, all above only takes about 10 minutes of wait. Thier original location is at 1370 Garylord St. Long Beach CA 90813.

We went up to sample a couple of individual tacos to make sure they were good before we ordered, and boy were they good. We went back and bought a burrito, spicy hot dog and a mulita. Those were just as good as the tacos. There are about 4 or 5 other taco trucks next to each other, so for a taco lover, it can be very conflicting on which taco truck to choose, but we followed the line in front of tacos el trompo and it did not disappoint.

I realized that this pop-up was actually just a street away from where I live, which made the decision even easier. Upon arriving, I encountered a bit of a wait--there were at least 15 folks ahead of me in line, eagerly anticipating their delicious orders. After standing in line for about 10 minutes, I could sense excitement building in the air as the line inched forward. As I observed the scene, I couldn't help but feel the buzz of anticipation surrounding me.. The flavors of sweet marinated pork and fresh pineapple have a way of dancing on your palate. I plan to capture a few photos to share once I'm a little closer to the front of the line. Got a taco dinner $10 rice, beans and 3 tacos and Agua fresca horchata So here's the review I got three tacos Al pastor 2/5 no flavor .. it was missing more citrus and seasoning, even the piña bites where bland Carne Asada 2/5 it taste like reheated leftovers in which he poured all the meat on the plancha Pollo 4/5 had seasoning Rice 4/5 flavorful Beans 2/5 no flavor ,pinto beans Horchata 3/5 overly sweet Overall they hype is not what you think. Tacos are affordable,Agua frescas $5 Will I be back probably not.

Our service was very slow and the drinks took a very long time to come out. We were some of the only people in the restaurant, so I can't blame it on being very busy. My girlfriend ordered a mojito and it tasted more like a margarita than anything. Our appetizer was okay but for the price you pay you don't get much. My burrito was decent, nothing to write home about. But you could definitely get a better one in Long Beach for $5 cheaper. My girlfriend ordered a salmon special which was about $30. I've never had a more overcooked piece of fish in my life. When the server asked how our food was I informed her the food was extremely overcooked. She didn't seem to care and there was no offer to find some kind of solution. I wasn't expecting a comped dish or anything special, but a little acknowledgement would have been appreciated. I wouldn't reccomend this place but if you're going to the club there and want food I guess this could be a decent option.
