    Bean and cheese burritos
    Rhonda F.

I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and it was huge full of green salsa, rice , and delicious pinto beans scrumptious and delicious all at the same time. By itself the burrito was a meal by itself. The chicken torta the bread was dry and not full and soft. The chicken inside of the torta was tasty soft and well seasoned just would like to see more.

I love me a good bean and cheese burrito. I have seen several people talk about the one here on a local Facebook page. I finally got around to going. The guy who took my order was nice. It cost $6.75 cash and came with a side of tortilla chips. The chips were crunchy, salty and delicious. The burrito was great. The high light was the soft tortilla and the "grilled" on cheese on arty of the tortilla. It was scrumptious! I could have eaten a whole burrito of just that. Haha It also had a noticeable garlic flavor to me (I love garlic btw) which was really good as well. My only slight complaint; if you can call it that, is that the beans were whole pinto beans. It did not make the burrito bad by any means, and I like pinto beans a lot, it's just that I prefer my bean and cheese burritos to have refried beans. I would eat there again... Perhaps I will try a cheese quesadilla next time. :)

One of my clients recommended this place, and she was not wrong. I ordered delivery for this spot, not knowing how good the food is. For me, it's on the other side of Long Beach, so I wouldn't be going to pick up food from here. Knowing what I know now, though, I will definitely be getting amazing food here. I went with their carne asada burrito with everything in it. Decent-sized burrito and hefty for sure. The green salsa this place makes is good. The burrito had amazing flavor. I was truly impressed by how good it was. My partner had the carne asada torta, and when she opened it, it looked a little messy. Like my burrito, it had a lot of flavor, and the bread was good. We each had a taco, and i stuck with carne, while she had pollo. We let them get cold, but they still tasted great. Lots of meat in the taco and plenty of onion and cilantro. We also ordered a bean and cheese burrito, which was hefty in size, but quite amazing after sitting for a while. We reheated it on a skillet, bringing back all the amazing flavors like the whole beans, the crunch of the onion, cheese, and cilantro. We are very much pleased with the entire order and can't wait to try more food from there again. Perhaps a visit will be in play for next time.

I've been here 3 times and it never disappoints. The owner chef guy is pretty cool. They were closing up tonight at 7pm but he brought a table out for me and my friend to eat right outside. The burrito, get it with the cheese, is so good. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Channel 5 news did mention they had one of the best burritos in Cali and I believe it. Even their salsa and chips were so good. Its a pretty big burrito too. Id make the drive from LA or IE just for this place.

Amazing! Stood the with standing of time! The food quality has not diminished, the service like your at home, and the small quant seating area doesn't miss.... Oh yeah glass bottle coke! Need I say more! Bought dinner for the team tonight and winner winner chicken, carne asada, pastor dinner!

Probably the best Tacos I've ever had !

Getting my car worked on in the area and was craving for some menudo and this place had really high review so decided to come check it out. I came on a Friday night and there were plenty of parking spots on the street. The place was relatively empty as most of their orders were to go but the service was really awesome so I'd recommend eating it there. The place is relatively small so not that great for big groups . We ordered menudo large and two carne asada tacos. They brought us out three tacos an extra pastor which I thought was an error but confirmed that they wanted us to try it. Wow praise GOD we got blessed :) the tacos were really good! And we really loved the menudos. It came with a huge amount of meat, some corn tortillas and two types of salsa but be careful with the habanero salsa! What really stood out was how clean the meat looked ;) Great service and delicious menudos!!! Will def be back soon!

    potato taquitos = $7.50 for 3

A friend nostalgically talked about the bean and cheese burrito here so naturally I had to try it. The bean and cheese burrito ($11) here is a trip. First of all, the cheese is grilled right onto the tortilla which is textually really interesting and not too overtly cheesy. Secondly, the bean mixture up is a little more soupy with whole beans (and onions!) enveloped into the mixture. The rendition here is unexpectedly very good and I appreciate a good bean and cheese sitch. I also shared an order of potato taquitos ($7.50 for 3) and some tacos ($2.50). The potato taquitos are definitely worth a try. They hold their nice crispy exterior even after being topped with lettuce, some crema, and cotija cheese. These are an excellent snack if you're looking for something satisfying, but not too filling. Highly recommend the bean and cheese at Joliza.

Service was fast as I went in during lunch time on a weekday. The burrito was a great size, and the carne asada was good, but a little different than other spots. I give the burrito a 7/10. I think since I don't put salsa in my burrito it tasted a little plain, but the carne was good. It's a small taco shop so plan to go for take out.

Best Mexican food I've had in a while. Everything was on point. Tortilla chips nice and crunchy. Menudo very savory. Burrito asada ginormous and so good I couldn't put it down. Horchata was perfect washing it all down.

All this food for $32 ! I think that's great!

Food was so bomb! My husband and I were in the area and decided to try out this place due to them having great reviews. Everything was delicious and fresh. The salsas are the best I've ever had!!! We will definitely be coming back The workers were also so nice! I forgot to take pictures of the food! The food looked so good and smelled great there was no time for pictures.

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Only the front patio and inside seating was available as the back patio wasn't open. We did start to see other staff walking in so maybe there was only one staff during the time.

Seeing people going in and out which I knew it was a restaurant. Last night we started off with drinks at the speakeasy next door. The two places share restrooms and that's how I found out about this place. Let me say it was a vibe. The first thing you notice from the back, the bar area and Photo Booth. And the live DJ keeping the place on its feet. We ended up wanted to check it out as it was a full restaurant and bar. Friday night without a reservation, spoke with hostess which they could accommodate 6 of us in a bit. Still had to close out at the other place before. The restaurant has a cool vibe with the main dining area in front, bar area towards the back side and on the opposite site is where the DJ booth was. Sam was our waitress who took very good care of us. Very sweet, friendly and of course attentive. Made sure that we were well taken cared of and if anything was needed she was there. It's a cool Mexican restaurant with a cool vibe to match. The place did get lively and was pretty full. You had parties up and dancing and enjoying themselves. Anyway, food and drinks. Started off with some spicy margaritas. Wow, they were strong but good. You had to sip versus drink... lol... Bartender was not playing and in a good way. The menu is somewhat limited compared to other restaurants but what was offered all looked amazing. A modern twist to Mexican food but still with the amazing authentic flavors. Instead of a meal we opted for à la carte and shared everything. Also was informed that the dishes are like tapas and great for sharing. Chips and salsa were brought out which both the chips and salsa were excellent. An order or the aguachille which had that nice sour taste with the lime juice perfectly balanced for the shrimp and trimmings. Served with tostada. The shrimp ceviche, another wonderful dish. Nicely marinaded in the lime juice was very flavorful and also served with tostada. An order of the enchiladas, came with three but we split it for 6 of us. The cheese and filling was very good. The molcajete served in a volcanic bowl stuffed with different meat, cactus, cheese all combined to create an amazing dish full of flavors. A must have and lastly the adobado hamachi collar, yellowtail. Very tasty but did have a fishy taste. Yes it's fish but still. Quite tasty and plentiful. Overall food and vibe was great. The place was definitely lively in the evening. We can finally say we've been and tried some amazing dish. It's a place that worth coming back for more. Parking is a little crazy as residential is always packed. There's a lot across the street which they do utilize but it's can be a bit crowded as well.

I've never been a fan of black beans but these were tasty. My Tlayuada hit the spot and chase it down with a Penelope. When we arrived we were the only ones there. The server was attentive and check on us throughout our visit. Engaging and friendly. The interiors are cost and warm with plants and green as the main color. Nice murals throughout.
