Food was decent! Can't say it's the best just yet until i try a few more items. But atmosphere was chill, can get crowded around lunch time being its between two refineries. The waitress staff could improve slightly, I had a 2 hour lunch meeting and wasn't offered anymore water since i sat down. I believe the plate I had was the Birria adobo plate was made with real goat no beef very good flavor and seasoning doesn't give you that gaming aftertaste flavor. Very nice vibe, if your looking for menudo make sure you get there early in the morning, they do run out. Menudo has lots of flavor, also make sure to try the coffee de olla. I've tried most of all the birria plates and I grew up on goat birria so this just hits the spot. Service is always great since owner and his kids are always up and down asking if everything is ok or if you would like anything else. As someone who didn't grow up eating Mexican food I was never very fond of it. That being said Tepechi is around the corner from my job and is our go to whenever we have guest visit. It's probably not a stretch to say that they are one of my favorite restaurants not just Mexican food but in general. Food is very authentic and portions are generous. I haven't tried many different dishes because I always get stuck on Birria but everything I've ever gotten was delicious. Definitely stop in if you're in the area and looking for a good meal that won't break the bank. read more

Pretty good food here! I got the steak picado which came with rice/beans and peppers/onions! A good solid plate! Also got the guacamole which tasted a bit salty but manage to finish it! I believe the birria is the star of the show here so i will try that next time! I should of known by looking at people plates it was mostly the birria. They have 3 different kinds of birria meat cuts i seen to go in the soups. The place is HUGE inside and they have a tent for outside dining which i don't think they're using anymore due to covid restrictions. It was pretty busy inside on a wends so they get alot of customers! It's right across the street from santa fe importers. Nice people running this place! Tepechi has amazing hard shell tacos! Great ambience and warmth to watch ongoing soccer games wherever you're sitting. I myself had a taco y enchilada con frijoles y arroz. One of the best and original menus in Long Beach along with being super filling. My dad had the mojarra frita that he said was delicious !! Gotta be honest here... I was pleasantly and overwhelmingly surprised when I had lunch at Tepechi. The restaurant is basically in a commercial area right on SFE Ave on the Westside of LB. Not the cleanest of areas. But the restaurant is phenomenal. Everything is extra clean. The parking lot is L shaped and not too big but super clean even by parking lot standards. Tons of great ambiance inside the restaurant too. Super clean, lots of room to eat, a small outdoor patio area, and even an event room area. Service was exceptional!! Our server greeted us as soon as we walked in, basically let us pick our table, and immediately began serving us drinks. Lunch specials are solid in size and price. $13 and about 12 options for lunch special plates. Food was absolutely delicious. Food was served on blazing hot plates, which I learned the hard way. Great lunch portion that satisfied my hunger. I had the asada wet burrito lunch special with half red half green sauce. It was fantastic. The flavor of the grilled asada was perfect. Perfect amount of balanced char and tenderness. Lunch also came with a large basket of chips and delicious salsa. I will absolutely be back. Tepechi was an awesome lunch spot and I absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone who works or lives or even just driving through the Westside of LB. read more

The restaurant in Long Beach off the beaten path looks nice both in and out. The young ladies working the day shift are polite and gracious. That's about where it ends. I wish I could give more on merit...the rest, meaning the food , detracts so much, I can't. The burritos are tiny.....yes....tiny. I ordered steak picado, (steak, peppers onions tomatoes) and there were a few slivers of steak and overloaded with tomatoes and onions....bland. Birria revolcada, if you like spice, has a nice kick. Flavors were good. Tacos de birria were filled well and filling , small birria bowl was tasty, campechana had good mariscos and flavor. We definitely recommend this restaurant! Right off the gate the staff was very friendly. Our server Ene did amazing she's very friendly and was always checking up on us, we really enjoy excellent service like the one she gave us. We're pretty picky when it comes to guacamole but the guacamole in this restaurant was delicious! The Jamaica tasted just perfect but the horchata was the only thing I didn't like, it was watered down so I was bummed about that. Overall we really enjoyed this restaurant! read more
