    Burger. Delish!

I went here for my husband's birthday and we absolutely loved it here! The themed restaurant is so so cool and the staff here is the sweetest. Our waiter Jester was so lovely and stayed in character the whole time. She was the highlight of the night for sure. We ordered the burger and the shrimp/catfish platter both were hot and full of flavor. Their non-alcoholic potion drinks could taste a little better but I understand they are meant for children and it was such a cute little magic element. I love how our meals came with the salad car and hot bread also. It was very crowded so wait times can vary but overall we had a great experience!

As soon as we walked in, my kids (ages 4, 7, 10, and 12) immediately said, "Mom... where are we?!" Within seconds they were completely captivated. They saw the school bus, looked up and spotted Mario on the ceiling, and instantly started spotting characters everywhere. Before I knew it, they were pulling out their phones, FaceTiming friends, taking pictures, and exploring. And mind you, these are kids who have been to top-tier theme parks their whole lives. There was something about the simplicity, creativity, nostalgia, and the commitment of the staff that completely won them over. I had to round them up 3 or 4 times just to remind them, "Guys, we still have to actually order food!" We arrived late on a Saturday night (around 9:30 PM, close to closing), and I honestly expected tired energy, but it was the exact opposite. Every staff member stayed in character and kept the magic alive. We met Wednesday Addams, Thor, Beetlejuice, Fairy Godmother, and our server Loki, who was fantastic. My son's favorite was Luigi, and that alone made his night. Both of my older kids said they want to have their birthday parties here. Of course we ordered the potion drinks. Five people, five different colors, and the dry ice effect was the perfect touch for the kids. The mac & cheese was unavailable, which was totally understandable since we came so late, but everything we ordered was good. The spinach artichoke dip was amazing. The chips were phenomenal, and this is officially a must-order for me every time now. I also ordered the half rack of ribs. They were good, although I was hoping they would be a little more fall-off-the-bone. The kids had chicken strips, pizza, and chicken Alfredo, and everyone was happy. The salad car was a fun touch too. I especially liked the potato salad, pasta salad, cucumbers, and olives. One small suggestion. It would be fun if the salad car had a little more "magic," maybe some lights or a glow effect to match the restaurant's vibe. Bathroom note. One stall wasn't working, and they were out of toilet paper when we went in. I told the staff, and they fixed it immediately and thanked me for letting them know. That kind of responsiveness matters. I also learned this place has been around since the 1970s, and honestly, you can feel the history and character everywhere. We missed the photographer that night, and the upstairs was closed, but I heard there's a magic show and bar upstairs, so now we definitely have to come back. We spent a little over $100 with tip, made amazing memories, and left with four kids asking if we can come back every Saturday. Some places are about perfect food. Some places are about perfect memories. This place gave us both. The memories were absolutely a 10 out of 10 for our family, and yes, the food was delicious. If I had to rate the food honestly, I'd give it about a 6.7 out of 10 overall. The standout for me was definitely the spinach artichoke dip, which I'd rate an 8 out of 10. A few bites were a little chunky and chewy, but the flavor was still so good that I'd absolutely order it again. We'll definitely be back, especially for dessert next time!

Went yesterday and saw a lot of rat feces. And ended up seeing 2 rats running inside. Our waiter told us they had a rat infestation and we ended up leaving. Disgusting. I hate to see this because we actually love it here. Hope they can fix the problem

Loves the food. Amazing staff! Their ac wasnt working and the time it took to get our food was long but other that that the ambiance was amazing. Loved the decor!

Galaxy Table! Loving the environment & as being a first time visitor, made a great first impression! Star Fire was our waitress & did amazing! Absolutely will be back!

The food was good the fam had burgers and fries. Love the unlimited salad bar. The service was good everyone there was dressed as a fictional character and they played the part, very entertaining. The prices are a little high and their menu is very limited but you will have a fun time. The decor is awesome.

Chicken Alfredo, bacon burger, Pepsi, potion drink (non-alcoholic).

Food was great. Thor was amazing!! Wait was about 30m about 2 hrs before close which was understandable. Everyone was friendly even the girls at the front.

Broken furniture where we were seating. Sticky dirty floor, musky smell, hot like a sauna room!!

(1 Star) My family and I visited The Magic Time Machine in Addison recently, and I have to say I was incredibly disappointed. We had been here years ago (around 2012), and back then it was a fun, memorable experience. Unfortunately, it has declined dramatically. The restaurant honestly feels like it needs to be featured on Restaurant Rescue. The building is in desperate need of maintenance and deep cleaning. The first thing we noticed was the smell. Then there was the heat--it was actually hotter inside the restaurant than it was outside. I'm not exaggerating when I say I felt like I was going to pass out. It made it difficult to enjoy the meal. Our table wasn't just slightly uneven--it wobbled from every angle. The furniture throughout the restaurant looked old, worn out, and in need of replacement. The carpet felt sticky under our feet, which immediately made the restaurant feel unclean. The restrooms were even worse. They were absolutely disgusting. Only one stall was working, and somehow it was even hotter in there than in the dining room. It was an experience I'd rather forget. The food was another disappointment. The fries tasted like standard frozen fries you could buy at any grocery store. The bread didn't arrive until the end of the meal, and to make matters worse, it was wrapped in a napkin instead of being served properly. Even the butter tasted like it had just come out of the freezer. One of our plates was dirty, which completely ruined my appetite. The only bright spot was our waitress. She was kind, attentive, and genuinely did her best despite the condition of the restaurant. She deserves credit because she was working in a very difficult environment. Overall, the poor upkeep, lack of cleanliness, uncomfortable temperature, and disappointing food made this one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. It's unfortunate because this place has so much potential, but it desperately needs renovations, better maintenance, and much higher cleanliness standards. I won't be returning, and I truly hope management takes these concerns seriously because the restaurant is no longer living up to the reputation it once had. I've attached a photo showing some of the worn and damaged furniture so others can see what I'm referring to.

"The Roman Orgy" minimum of four ordering for $19.99 each. Delicious and large portions.
    Delilah Z.

I came in with a large birthday party, and we had the best time! Service is fantastic (shout-out to Wednesday! Committed to the character and she was so funny and attentive.) Our food was so tasty, I highly recommend ordering the "Roman Orgy", it has a generous portions of various menu options. The interior is so neat, detailed to the core, and charming to the max. It has the nostalgic feel of a mom n' pop restaurant with a themed twist. If you're coming in with a large group, be ready to wait-but it's worth it.

This is where we were seating, floor was dirty and sticky and the furniture broken plus wobbly.

The food was terrible. The restaurant was dated and the characters were not on their A games on the day that we went. I wouldn't go back.

The staff is so friendly and seems like a family. The prices are 10% under comp eateries. It's as if the owners took the best part of all fine dining and combined them. Here it is a relaxed but respectful environment with food that you would think comes from a Michelin rated spot. The clientele is eclectic and younger. I'm 47 so I am not like those around me but can see the client base. I'm not sure if it's the minimal menu (please take this as an anti Cheesecake Factory comment) or the items compliments that are setting it apart. What I mean is the steak by itself is amazing. Truly a top 10 steak (ribeye at $48) or the accompanying sauce that it setting it apart. I advise take two to three bites from different stations of the meat. Then take the same bites with their paired glaze. Make your own decisions. You aren't telling the full story if you didn't pair it with a great house Bonanza cab (actually on happy hour except for Fridays). The verdict. This place will be one I will always take clients to when visiting Dallas. The verdict on me is that I'm a steak based reviewer so I might be wrong on all other aspects but the only likely wild card here would be the salads and seafood. I'm not here at a steakhouse for anything else. My wife can write that review. Last PS is that Dave the bartender is nice and accommodating and will let you explore the space . He is matter of fact but possibly could be a friend if not already to all. Watching Dave now live with his regulars says that he balances all customers very well. Negatives. Parking is just slightly odd. There is plenty of it and valet is free to customers. Let's not worry. No rush to get here at 5. The regulars and common come in around 6 as all others do on a Friday (this was my second night after being here for Thursday) Food has arrived. App is the carpaccio and holy shit wow. Not some boring small plate that exudes poor people suck. It's above average size like it should be . I'm not sure why the garlic bread is hear other than a nod to old school. My steak is in a to go box (nicely wrapped with utensils and yes that matters when you travel). This is my steak and if it sucks I'll remove the review. I'm kidding as it's a to go. This is a real world review. I do one long review every few years.

There are booths along the wall, although we were seated in the middle of this giant room. The restaurant is modern and has an upscale vibe. Dress ranged from casual to people getting dressed up. For starters, we shared the Oysters Rockefeller. They were not my favorite. The flavors were not balanced and there was too much garlic. A couple of the oysters were extremely chewy and had to be discarded. At $18, they were a disappointment. For entrees, the wife had the Branzino and liked it, although she mentioned several times that the Branzino at Zeppole is much better. I ordered the Bistro steak which is a 9 oz tenderloin. The meat was cooked to medium as requested. However, it was not seasoned at all. I guess the cook thought that the peppercorn would compensate, but I got my sauce on the side and ate the meat without. Only after I found out that the steak was not seasoned did I add the sauce. The sauce was ok but did not have a lot of flavor. I have had better. A big problem was that the "steak knife" that I was given was so dull that it was impossible to cut the steak across the grain. I could only sort of tear at the meat as I cut with the grain. The knife needed to be serrated and it was not. It was not a proper steak knife, which made eating the steak a chore. The meat was tender, but certainly not Prime and certainly not the most tender tenderloin that I have ever had. At $31, which is very inexpensive for tenderloin, I guess you get what you pay for. The fries were thin and crisp and the best part of the entree. For dessert, the wife and I shared a piece of pecan pie and it was excellent. Not too sweet, but sweet enough. Our server Marcella was professional and efficient. No complaints. There is complimentary valet parking. The concept behind this restaurant is an affordable steak house. These days, the cost for two people at an upscale steak house will easily exceed $300. Our bill at Steakyard was about half of that. Once again, you get what you pay for. Our meal was good, but not great. I could easily go 3 stars but I will bump it up one star based on the ambience, service, and dessert.

She loved everything about this entree. For me, it was an easy decision. I LOVE their wedge salad and started with that. The price has gone up a bit but it remains outstanding. For some reason, the waiter gave me a small but it was fine. The small in 2026 is $7.99 and the regular size is now $11.99. For my entree, I ordered from the appetizer menu and got the crab cake. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the crab cake. It has to be the best in Dallas. It is one half pound of pure crab meat, no filler. The price has gone up to $26.99 so it is not cheap, but it is outstanding quality. The cake was perfectly cooked and the crab was sweet. It comes with three dips but to me, I want to taste the crab so I did not use them. The kid had the old fashioned fries and devoured them. Our server, Mark, was attentive and efficient. Service was excellent as usual. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants in Dallas and IMO the best in the line of Kenny's restaurants. The fresh popovers served alongside the first course were airy, warm, and a standout touch on their own. The fried calamari was crisp and tender, served with remoulade, marinara, and grilled lemon. Whether you're local or just passing through, this one is worth the stop. Highly recommend.

Came here for our first visit for my sons 30th birthday and I don't know that we will be back. As…read moremuch as we LOVE Marty Bs - we have not had such luck with Rustico and now 1845. I will say we atleast liked the atmosphere and ambiance better at 1845 than we did at Rustico. But it was more of the same- incredibly overpriced BLAND food. Not at all worth the price you're paying, severely lacking in flavor, and takes waaaaay Too long to be delivered to your table after ordering. We started with the Texas Trio and we did enjoy that. It is kind of hard to mess up queso, salsa and pimento cheese- however we did say that was one thing we would eat again and was worth its value. My husband and other son bothe ordered cheeseburgers at $22 a pop and both said the burger they get at local pint was a million times better and a lil cheaper. I got the smothered chicken and It was very disappointing! The chicken was so bland it was like a notch above school cafeteria food (seriously) I swapped the rice for mashed potatoes and they were good (not great but good) and the Brussels sprouts which were really tasty but VERY small Portion for price. I've eaten at incredibly high end steak places that charge the same For a side of sprouts and give you more than double what I got tonight at 1845. The birthday boy got a strip steak and potatoes and he gave each of us a bite. $49 for this steak- a good size- but NO FLAVOR at all. Last but certainly not least- our server was nice enough and attentive HOWEVER he had on the Meta glasses that record people and that made our entire table very uncomfortable. My son said he had seen tik tok accounts where waiters record their patrons and post it! (Not saying he was but it definitely changed the atmosphere of our dinner) He also seemed notably disappointed and different after we didn't order the $49 appetizer and no alcohol. Visible mood shift but he did remain professional. All in all, we are baffled by the good reviews. And very very surprised at the quality of product and price point considering Marty Bs coffee has AMAZING food quality and pricing and so does the restaurant, just doesn't seem to be translating to the other establishments. :-(

The crab claws were TO DIE FOR, but that 24 Layer Cake, JoJo's Strawberry stole the show. I said it then and I'll stand on it now: that cake was the best thing I ate in 2021. We all know who it's meant for (wink, wink) but still makes you wonder if they'll give you a hard time just to eat there. We ordered drinks. My menu (which are huge) accidentally knocked over my full drink. Surprisingly, the glass broke from just being tipped over on the table which has a pad under the table cloth. Anyway, the waitress offers to bring me a new drink and cleans up the mess. We finish our meal and get the check. We received two bills. The main bill and a bonus bill for the replacement drink. WTF. Surprised they didn't charge me for the broken glass. So I paid for that too. Sucks for the waitress because the extra money would have gone to her tip as a thank you for cleaning up the spill. The valet is free but there's a code to use if you would like to tip. Sure, here's $10. Only it's not $10. There's a service charge of almost 30%. So now it's $13. Lord knows if the valet crew even see any of this money but who carries cash anymore? In the end, it's not the worse place to go but way too expensive and way too tacky to ever go back.
