My sister and I went for the first time to The Old Warsaw. We had the most amazing time. The staff were so incredibly sweet and personable, and the pianist was world class. The ambience was great too- very old world style. Super classy, very early 20th century vibes. We loved it. The food- omg. So good. We chose the $55 prix-fixe / set menu. There's that option or an elevated option of $75. But honestly, we were so happy with our choice. We got an appetizer or first course (we both chose the lump crab cake with bernaise sauce- so tasty), and then for the next course - the entree, I got the 8oz. Prime New York Strip Stuffed with Lump Crabmeat. It came with skillet potatoes and asparagus. My sister got the Yellowfin Tuna Steak with Angel hair pasta and brussels sprouts. Both were perfectly cooked and everything was so delicious. More than anything else, I can't tell you how personable and nice the owner and all the servers were. This restaurant has been around since the '40s, and it had been at least five years since we had visited. I am not sure why, because we had an excellent experience and a really fun night. Our waiter was very attentive and answered all of our questions. Our cocktails were hand-made and served immediately. We both had steaks and the flavor was outstanding. My wife said her fillet was the best she has had in a long time. During dinner, we were treated to a talented pianist that took song suggestions throughout the evening - a very special touch. We ate here on Valentine's Day 2026. My husband, a native to Dallas, mentioned that he had always wanted to eat at the Old Warsaw but never had. So I surprised him with reservations. Here's my takeaway 1) you will absolutely need a reservation- like Don't try to walk in and expect a table, not because they're packed but because you probably won't get past the host/manager. I wouldn't want to cross him... but the table service was good. 2) about 7 days before your reservation they'll call and ask for a credit card to go on file- this guarantees you'll be there and there's a charge for no show 3) I saw reviews stating that men were upset that cowboy hats weren't allowed, however there was a guest wearing a very nice felt cowboy hat, so maybe they realized they were in Texas and changed the rule? 4) It's a prefixed menu with the price being $85 pp for an additional cost you can add a bottle of wine, order cocktails, tea etc. the price point was reasonable 5) Food: Apps were shrimp cocktail (excellent sauce) Cab Cake (a little salty) Mains: Beef Wellington cooked medium rare and it was very good- it was HOT which I like because who likes cold food? The potatoes and veggies were very flavorful. Hubs got the filet cooked medium rare and lobster. His steak was warm had good flavor, but the potatoes were cold and he had to ask for drawn butter for the lobster since it wasn't provided. Oh, and the bread, it was fresh from the oven so we did indulge. Desserts: blueberry cobbler and ice cream- excellent. Key lime pie it was NOT store bought. Overall the ambiance was nice- kind of a 40's elegant vibe mixed with slight mafia feel (just trust me on this) . We checked this spot off the list. We won't go back not because it was bad, but for us it's not a "return" to place. But I do suggest to try it out if you never have. read more

After we ordered drinks and wine, we waited nearly 30 minutes just for the waiter to take our dinner order. Then we waited another 40 minutes for the food to arrive. It honestly felt like a deliberate tactic to keep drinks flowing and increase the bill. We ordered three Prime Filet Mignon dinners with vegetables and Caesar salads. The "Caesar salad" was an embarrassment: three small leaves of romaine lettuce covered with cheap bottled dressing. Even chain restaurants like Red Lobster serve a far superior Caesar salad. The vegetables were bland and poorly prepared, but the real disaster was the Filet Mignon. At $35 per steak, we expected quality. Instead, the meat was unbelievably tough, dry, and nearly impossible to chew -- like eating leather. We barely touched the steaks because they were that bad. I have honestly had more tender and flavorful steaks at Denny's. To make matters worse, we showed the waiter the untouched filet, yet management refused to remove it from the bill or make any effort to correct the situation. No apology, no concern, no customer service. For a restaurant that claims to offer fine dining, this place delivered cafeteria-quality food at premium prices. Old Warsaw completely ruined what was supposed to be a memorable 80th birthday celebration. I have heard about this place for quite a while and finally found an opportunity to stop in, though unfortunately just for an appetizer and a drink. The tartare was generously sized and totally delicious. The interior of the place is very cool and old-school. The only reason I only gave four stars is it was mostly empty in there and there was no music playing or anything. It was so quiet that every time the refrigerator is behind the bar clicked on it was almost startling. It's a bit disconcerting to eat in total silence. DO NOT GIVE AI & THE OLD WARSAW YOUR MONEY!! My fiancé made a Valentine's Day reservation at The Old Warsaw through OpenTable in January. We received multiple confirmations, including confirmations the day before Valentine's Day. On February 4th, we received a poorly written and suspicious text message from someone identifying himself as "Al"(who we later found out is the owner/manager), referencing multiple inconsistent phone numbers. Because it did not come through OpenTable or an official restaurant channel, we reasonably assumed it was a phishing attempt and did not respond. Confident in our confirmed reservation, we arrived dressed formally for what was meant to be a very meaningful evening. The Old Warsaw held sentimental value for our family, as it was a special place for my fiancé's grandparents. Upon arrival, we were ignored for several minutes before being told by Al abruptly and dismissively that we did not have a reservation. When my fiancé showed the OpenTable confirmation on his phone, it was not even reviewed. Instead, Al told us, "I don't care what your phone said. We called you several times. You don't have a reservation. Leave." The interaction was shockingly disrespectful and unprofessional. There was no attempt to verify the confirmation, no courtesy, and no effort to resolve the situation. If the restaurant operates a separate confirmation system outside of OpenTable, that process needs to be clearly communicated and properly managed. Guests should never be dismissed in such a manner, especially when they have documented confirmation. This experience was deeply disappointing, and we will not be returning. read more

DO NOT GO! I made a reservation on Valentine's Day at the beginning of January. I confirmed my reservation during a phone call where I increased the amount of people attending with me. This was less than a week out. I even got a resy reminder, and it still appeared on the resy under reservations. I show up at my designated reservation time after parking downstairs in their garage. We walk in to the restaurant near the bar, where there was no indication of whether this was the front. No hostess, no stand. We were waiting there for a few moments when an unidentified person briskly asks what name my reservation is under and I tell him and without looking at ANYTHING he said I didn't have a reservation. I told him I confirmed multiple times AND still showed on my resy. He then proceeded to curtly say sorry and continued to say I didn't have a reservation. He was unpleasant to communicate with and the whole experience was extremely unprofessional. I can't even attest to the food (which I was very excited about the vday menu), so this is strictly based on the incoordination and rude person (could be the manager or owner, who knows). AVOID, they clearly don't give a flying who comes or goes, nor do they even care about losing 200+ in revenue that night. Bonkers. read more

As they say, "There ain't no school like the old school". When you are one of the oldest steakhouses in Dallas and still packing them in, you must be doing something right! You want a piano or violin player taking requests, hit them with the old school stuff, and you'll be entertained all night! You want a Beef Wellington as good as Ramsey's, you'll find it here! You want a ribeye that melts in your mouth, you've found it! The food is a great value, and excellently prepared! The cocktails are a bit expensive, but they do pour liberally, so it kinda works itself out! The service is out of this world, and you will want for nothing! I do not recommend trying this place in jeans and baseball hats, or the typical "Mark Cuban casual" if you really want the best service. Show some class... men will be in jackets, ladies will be in dresses, and you should respect the kind of place this is. The burger joint is within walking distance. I can easily recommend the Pre fixe II menu, as you can choose from either menu. We shared the strawberries crepe suzette, and I thought we were going to burn the place down... she put on an extraordinary show! The crepes were a little thick, but now we are nitpicking! No one greeted us or was checking people in, along with receiving a call a week before asking to hold a credit card on file for the reservation and then proceeding to send multiple confirmations even after that. Dinner was good, but service was sub par. Dessert (key lime pie) was completely freezer burnt. They gave our check to the wrong table and were rude and slow about fixing it. There was a huge variety of things to eat at our table. I had a filet mignon and it was nice done. For dessert I got the soufflé and everyone was jealous. That is until the bananas foster came out. Everyone loves seeing food flambéed. Overall very nice upscale place. The only thing to be wary of is we were sat right next to the piano and it was very loud. While we enjoyed the live music we almost had to yell just to talk to the person next to us. The fresh mozzarella and tomato starter would have been great if they didn't put RANCH on top of it. I have never seen that in all my years of cooking. The pan seared crab cake was delicious! Our main entrees were very good but they both came with onion rings, that wasn't even on the menu and they were not good. The tiramisu cake was so dry but the carrot cake was very moist. We ate here Christmas Day and had their pre fixe menu at $70 per person. The fact that it was very empty should have been a clue as to what was going to come. First, the menu they posted online was not the menu at the restaurant. That's false advertising. We had the Goose Liver Pate and the Shrimp Cocktail. The Pate was okay but not great. What can I say about boiled shrimp. There were 4 medium sized shrimp in a small bowl with ice. There was a small container of cocktail sauce and another of tartare sauce. It was okay. Nothing special. Next we had the Prime Ribeye and the Beef Wellington. The Ribeye was supposed to be 16 oz but there's no way that it was that big. It was well seasoned and cooked to the right temperature. It was good but I would expect something much bigger for $70 per person. The mashed potatoes that came with it had no salt and were bland. The Beef Wellington was not good. The pastry surrounding the beef was totally raw. The meat inside was perfect but I couldn't get past the raw dough in my mouth. It was awful. The potatoes gratin side was super salty. Dessert was Black Forest Cake and Lemon Cake . They were low quality desserts purchased from a food wholesaler. The kind you can find at any casino buffet. Definitely not worth what they were charging. Go to Steve Fields instead. read more

What a wonderful place to celebrate our 46th anniversary! Everything was perfection from the freshly made bread to the desserts! My husband had the Prime Ribeye and it was cooked perfectly! Every bite was so tender and juicy! I had the Crab Cake for starters and the grilled Scottish Salmon & they both were delicious! We ordered off of the Prix-Fixe menu, so it came with dessert. We had the Red Velvet Cake and the Key Lime pie ~ both really good. Gregory the pianist is absolutely amazing and a funny guy too. Servers were very attentive, water glass never got below half full nor did the wine glass. Food was outstanding. I had the 22oz prime ribeye, caviar and lobster bisque for appys and I had the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Everything I had was amazing. Wife had the Wellington and I realized I may have ordered wrong, because it was out of this world. Good news is we'll be back and I'm getting the Wellington next time. Came for a birthday dinner and left disappointed. We had a reservation for a Saturday night, but when we arrived, it was so empty it clearly wasn't necessary--only one other table was occupied. The vibe felt more like a casual chain restaurant than the upscale experience we were expecting. Both servers were polite, but our's didn't seemed to know the menu very well. When we tried to order a bottle of wine, they offered us a discounted, already-open bottle of Barefoot. Once we realized what it was, we passed and just ordered a glass instead. Things didn't improve from there. A bug got into one of our drinks, and I had to flag someone down to replace it since our server hadn't been by in a while. They brought a new cup but didn't seem to care much about the issue. Food-wise, nothing really landed. The spinach salad, goat cheese ball, and lobster bisque just weren't good, but we tried to make the best of it. While the pianist was playing, we started to take a short video and he pointed at us and said "no" in a really rude tone--as if we were misbehaving kids. If filming isn't allowed, a polite sign or heads-up would go a long way. It took over an hour to get our entrées. The Wellington tasted weirdly fried and just wasn't enjoyable. My filet, ordered medium rare, was totally overcooked--no pink at all. I had a few bites but couldn't finish it. We ended up asking for the manager and then the check and some boxes to take the food home for our dogs. The manager did comp the meal, which we appreciated, but at that point we were ready to leave. What a wonderful experience we had when we wandered into this place during our last visit to Dallas. The beauty and classic decor is the first thing that we noticed, when entering the hallway leading to the restaurant. We decided to sit at the bar and listen to the wonderful pianist that was playing that evening. The classical music was only made better by the fantastic service that we receiving. The owner offered a choice of two different wine special that evening. I chose the Pinot Noir which I greatly enjoyed. We also had the large escargot, which was very well done and was served in a very tasty and creamy butter sauce with bread. To end the evening we decided on the soufflé which was so well done, sweet, and fluffy. I will definitely visit this restaurant again during my next trip to Dallas. read more

The beef Wellington was the reason for the visit and it did not disappoint. He had the filet and it was also done to perfection. Dessert was cherry jubilee, and it was a true treat! Disappointed that the cherry jubilee has to be for two, because my husband had wanted the key lime pie, so he was not able to order his own dessert even though he ordered off of the pre fixe menu that includes a dessert. At the end of my Grandmothers life she lived on m&m's, vodka and Marlboro lights. The Old Warsaw is a tired old restaurant that appears to be ending the same way. We walked in on a Saturday night and were awkwardly met by the bartender/waiter. We had a reservation and after he realized we had come in to eat , he lead us to our booth. He left us there for 10 minutes as he and the rest of the staff tended to the 2 other tables in the restaurant. He came back and said "I take drink order", I asked for menus. He came back and gave me one drink menu/ wine list. We ordered drinks and he was off. Let's be clear...I am not sure any one in the restaurant spoke English well. There was one wine list and it included a bad selection. Menu is tired...Food was bad, service was bad, so many bads....go read the trip advisor reviews as well as these.
