Classic Dallas bar in a historical house. We called to make reservations (currently there is no way to do it online) which is a very good thing since there's a lot of people waiting and there is limited seating indoors and outdoors. We arrived for happy hour to take good advantage of the $9 cocktails which were pretty solid for the price. We got Golden Ghost and Rolls Royce for first round (I liked the smoky profile of Golden Ghost more), and we got Jungle Bird (tropical) and Coffee & Coke (more chocolate / cafe forward) for the second round. The cocktails are quite strong too, so 2 of them was enough for me. They're mostly martini style, so they're mostly spirit forward. Regular menu drinks sound interesting but a lot pricier ($18-20+) so that can be another time. I only took a star off because service was very slow after happy hour ended. I understand a wait during happy hour as the bartenders and servers are slammed with orders, but it did not make sense to struggle to flag any server for 20 min when we were well taken care of during happy hour

Bowen House is so vibey! Dare I go out on a limb here and call it Dallas' version of NY's Polo Bar? Def trending in that direction. I dropped in Friday evening, unfortunately missing HH but a full price burger and drink isn't gonna to put me out. I was able to snag a table near the bar within a few minutes. I started with their Spacecaster, whiskey based cocktail with a kick. Superb! I wasn't feeling great when I arrived and this fixed me up in no time. I knew I had to try the burger, then spotted the chips topped with crème fraîche and caviar (had my name written alllll over them). I couldn't finish all of the chips and prior to ordering I needed clarification on if chips meant fries, but we are in Dallas folks - chips literally mean chips! Potato chips! I ended up just eating the caviar off of the last few. This wound gave been the perfect order to go halfsies on, I couldn't finish the burger either but I was on a solo date and needed to bounce to get to a show nearby. I absolutely loved Bowen House. Can't wait to return, great crowd! When you're solo you inadvertently hear others convos which helped me determine this is def my type of crowd ;) Gentlemen hosts seating guests were also very nice. Great service all around from everyone. A Dallas must.

Bowen House in Uptown (Dallas) is a staple for us. It's just one of the best cocktail bars around. The beautiful space, exceptional service and high quality everything sets them apart. We visited during the holidays for some cocktails, snacks and holiday cheer. Their decorations were beautiful and made for a warm and festive night. I'm always taken by their service levels. The managers set the tone decked out in suits. It's a small nuance, but I appreciate it since it's so rare these days. The elevated experience doesn't take away from how friendly and welcoming everyone is. It's why we always keep it in our rotation. My cocktails were fantastic. I had an off menu old fashioned variation which was delicious. It had bourbon, banana liqueur and allspice to give it some holiday flair (photo 2). Red Room is a sour recipe (with egg white) using vodka as the base spirit (photo 6). It's complemented with Ramazzotti Rosato (Italian aperitif), vanilla liqueur, lime and honey. The egg white gave it a nice airy texture. It had a good balance of fruit and richness. The BH burger is the best in town. It hit the spot and you should run to go try it. They've stepped up their food game exponentially over the last few years. Bowen House is the best we have in Dallas so go check them out soon. Out of all the bars we visited in Dallas, this is my favorite. The bar has a beautiful, historic vibe that feels both elegant and inviting. Great place to come whether you are on a date or hanging out with friends. The green tea shot is an absolute must order. I am not usually a whiskey fan, but this was incredibly smooth and easy to drink, with the right balance of sweetness. As for bar bites, their chicken tenders were surprisingly good - not something you would expect to stand out at a cocktail bar - but they were crispy, flavorful, and perfect with a drink. They can get busy, so be sure to call ahead and make a reservation especially if you are going in a group.

My nephew came for a visit to help me get some things ready in my apartment for the family. That's coming into town next week when we were all done. I took him down the street to the Bowen house. This place always has a fantastic food aroma coming out from the building even when I'm walking by to go to tanning on the nail salon or whatever you could smell the food and see people on the front porch having a great time. It was a quick walk from my apartment and we had a 35 to 40 minute wait they told us initially but it ended up being only like 20 minutes which was fantastic. We sat at the bar and the bartenders took great care of us. They were at least five bartenders on duty and they were all busy. I had an old-fashioned and my nephew had a a different drink off the menu that he said was very refreshing. It had cucumbers in it and like four or five different shots lol. We both had the burger with the fries. Oh let me tell you the fries were amazing. They had some kind of garlic infusion into them. It was I can't describe it. It was just delicious. The burger was huge and delicious and juicy. I could only eat half. Then we decided to share a dessert and went for something light so we went for the tiramisu. it was very, very, very good. The vibe is excellent and definitely is a good time. Great date night spot very intimate, but enough buzz going on in the place that it's not cloyingly intimate so for first date it would be OK because it's lively. I feel very lucky that this place is just down the street from me.

Had dinner and cocktails in the back room and had a wonderful time. There is no drink menu and the bartender makes drinks for you based on your favorite flavors and liquor of choice. Food was amazing - can't go wrong with the Cacio E Pepe, have never had a better one! The blueberry cheesecake was to die for and the real star of the show, need to go back just for that!

First things first, let's address the parking. If you see an empty spot near the restaurant, grab it, as parking is limited in this area. If you have a large party, call and make a reservation. The space is small and cozy and it fills up quickly due to the restaurants popularity. One of my favorite perks is that Bowen House offers happy hour seven days a week from 4-6. The happy hour consists of red, white, and sparkling wine, several cocktails, as well as food items. I highly recommend the cheeseburger with a side of fries. Great service, delicious food and solid drinks. I'll definitely be back!

After dinner we stopped by for a night cap. The atmosphere was lively and crowded. I couldn't figure out what I wanted so our server curated something for me from my flavor profile, and it was delicious. Next time I'll try the food.

This small establishment has a very cozy feeling and the staff are so friendly and know everything inside and out! I got the wosmo and canda (reference to fairly odd parents to avoid copyright issues, ha!) and the red wine foam was an especially nice touch with the sweet stars on top. Points for creativity and flavor! My favorite was the Beach what? I got two of these - the balance of tequila and the coconut puree was very smooth so it felt like I was on a beach. Be sure to make a reservation since it's usually packed!

I'm so sad it took me so long to go to this Dallas staple! The vibes were amazing, the service was great and the cocktails were delicious! Highly recommend book the speakeasy at the back. I would tell the bartender there what I was craving or what I like, and they would make some of the best creative drinks ever! Warning, it is a small space so I highly recommend making reservations! Great date night spot!

Bowen House is a gem! I try to come here every few months and when I do, there's always a crowd. It's a staple for a reason. The servers are kind, the bartenders know how to make a good drink and the food is always 10/10. It's easy to get reservations but also, if your luck is good, you can get a spot at the bar!

The cocktails are a must here if you are wanting a delicious drink with or before dinner this is the spot. The restaurant is in a historic old Victorian home in uptown Dallas and has so much charm it's hard not to love it. The bartender was great at recommending drinks and what food we should try they really made it a fun relaxing night keeping us well taken care of. I had been for the drinks before but this was the first time I had the food and everything was really good the ingredients were very high quality and fresh and had a good mix of options for the smaller menu!

You ever go somewhere and find nothing wrong with the place? Bowen House is that place. I mean I just tried the place today, and I'm already planning my next visit. The food & cocktails...AMAZING. The service...also AMAZING. Then the coziness and intimate interior...AMAZING! Seriously, I'm here for it all. I came here with a coworker for happy hour, and we both truly enjoyed ourselves. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The happy hour menu is great. Happy hour is between 4-6PM. Everything on HH menu is less than $10, except for the shrimp cocktail, which is $15. For drinks on the HH menu: Get the POWER HOUR. If you're not a mezcal fan, don't let the mezcal scare you. I hate mezcal and this cocktail was so good, I got two. The passion fruit is amazing in this. For the food on the HH menu: Get the SPANISH CROQUETTES and THE CHEESEBURGER. Yes, the cheeseburger is a double patty and it'll make you smile. Think of a very fancy Big Mac, very good! We decided to get one item off the regular menu. We chose the Fried Brie, which was also lovely. The blueberry with this is perfect and it's served with bread, the bread is freaking good. I'm excited to come back to this place. Also, if you're thinking of going, make a reservation!

Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving.
