Every time I'm here I feel like I'm in Miami or Arizona. It's like a little escape in the middle of Deep Ellum. The edamame is quite literally the best in the city! I love their extensive happy hour! My favorite sushi roll here is the tsunami maki. It's the perfect meal and brings me joy every time. The shrimp is cooked to perfection. The roll is not overly sweet or salty. The spicy edamame has a kick (nothing crazy) with an enormous pop of flavor. The restaurant offers patio seating that is covered except for a few spots. It makes it the perfect spot to hang out with friends. They also have a bar, tables for main dining seating and also a speakeasy. The waiters here are very nice and sweet when I dine every time and I've yet to have any issues. read more

Palma is such a cute and fun concept, and some of the food we ordered was amazing! The appetizers were definitely the best thing we tried off the menu and it was definitely the highlight of the meal, especially the yummy fries. also got the popcorn chicken and it was great! personally, i thought the maki (yellowtail habanero & macha maki) and our entree (birria tacos) paled in comparison but to each their own. drinks were on point though! definitely recommend coming here for happy hour!! read more

First of all this place is just beautiful! It feels like you are in a resort in another country! Very lux. We came here for happy hour to plan a trip! I got a punch and avocado roll! Again presentation was beautiful! Both items were great! The drink was perfectly spiked, not too strong. The avocado roll is just like any other roll, still good though. Thanks for the great service! I enjoyed the decor a little. I would say y'all need some carnivorous plants for the flies. Visited Palma on a Saturday around 1pm. We were able to get a table inside, no wait. I love the vibe of this restaurant. It's very pretty inside. The food we tried was yummy. The queso I really enjoyed because it's different than other spots. Espresso martini was very sweet, so I enjoyed it. I do wish they had sushi during lunch time on the weekend: :( the sushi doesn't start until 3pm, so that was a bummer. They had a dj during brunch, great vibes. Tried this spot out before attending an event at the comedy club. Since this restaurant is in deep ellum, parking is challenging. The restaurant does validate parking but up until 5pm. We visited for happy hour and tried the sample platter , sushi and all the happy hour drinks . I did enjoy the sample platter - not huge fan of charred edamame. Upon entering Palma, I was immediately impressed with the decorations and interior design. There was a lot of thought put into creating this location. I've been here a few times in the past 6 months and I've had a great experience on each visit. The ambiance gives island vibes as each time I've been the windows and doors leading to the patio are open. They make excellent use of the space, in addition to bar seating, there are numerous booths along with many table/chair combos. Service has always been superb! From being greeted upon arriving to the bartenders and servers, everyone is pleasant and when it comes to the menu, they always make great recommendations. As for the food, I've tried several items and have not been disappointed. The Hatch Chili Queso is always a hit when sharing with a group. They also have a some great sushi, my favorite is the Yellowtail Habanero. My go to entree of choice is the Jalapeño Smash Burger!! It is in my top 5 favorite burgers ever. As for beverages, Palma has a full bar and they have a menu of their speciality drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. It should be noted that menu dedicated to their happy hour which is Monday - Friday, 11am to 7pm. This contains several beverages along with food options, all nicely priced. So upon entering we had some weird interactions and were sat at a dirty table, we otherwise had a wonderful time. Our server, Dannie, was top tier. She was bubbly, friendly, knowledgeable, and checked in often enough we felt we were cared for. Overall the food was excellent. We came for happy hour so we order most of the menu and the only thing that wasn't amazing was the yum fries - I prefer crispy fries but the waffle fries weren't crispy and overall the flavor was bit bland. Both my drinks, the espresso martini and margarita were excellent - I wish I could have enjoyed more but my body would have revolted. I love that this place wasn't just aesthetically pleasing, but the food and drinks matched perfectly. Will most definitely come back here. read more

My food was pretty good but my service wasn't. I got the popcorn chicken, LA roll and a mojito. I wasn't checked on once while eating or after. I wanted to order another drink but no one ever came back to my table so I didn't. I even had to another waiter to grab mine so I could close my ticket. My appetizers was the Hatch Chili Queso with tortilla chips & cilantro +make it loaded +$3 (achiote minced pork, guacamole, corn & jalapeño salsa, tomato, scallion) -The queso was awesome and now I wish I had added the free kimchi because the loaded version was everything! $15 My entree was the following: Yellowtail Habanero (8 PCS) inside: crab mix, avocado, crispy shallot, cilantro / outside: charred habanero yellowtail, lemon zest, ponzu, scallion I cannot remember my cocktail name but the lightness of the sprtizer was refreshing following the spiciness of my roll. This is a nice addition to Deep Ellum! It definitely has its own vibe. There's a nice big patio and bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The whole set up will make you forget you're in Dallas which I love, and it draws an attractive crowd. I recommend the EXSW Margarita and the popcorn chicken and fries were good. I tried the spicy chicken tinga which was flavorful but a little too spicy for this chick. I had the Brekky Martini w/gin during brunch. The taste wasn't very memorable but it was strong! There's a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant with very reasonable prices. You just text a code and receive a link. No downloading a whole new app just to park your car. read more

Happy hour with friends! I made reservations on OpenTable for early afternoon which was pretty easy but it does require a credit card on file incase of cancellation. This place is really cute, nice atmosphere. It was steady since it was mid afternoon. We started off with drinks which took a while to bring. Our waiter had a trainee so a lot of items would come out late. I had the EXSW marg which is $7 on the happy hour menu. I enjoyed it. Wasn't super strong, and wasn't exactly frozen but it did the job. We started off with "The Cure" Platter. Presentation was amazing but some of the appetizers did come out lukewarm/cold. I would say I was pretty impressed with the queso. I just wish the food was more hot being served. Edamame was a bit salty. I did order the jalapeño smash burger with friends with I enjoyed. I did try the "Crunchy L.A.", which is one of their sushi options. I could pass. Wasn't my favorite. Cons: Flies inside the restaurant but you can ask for the fans to be placed on your table to combat that. Sometimes it expect when people coming in and out for the patio. Food not being as warm as it should coming out the kitchen. Nothing than cold food being served. And service being slow. It's to be expected since they are still trying to find their rhythm. All in all, I still had fun with my friends regardless. Our waiter and his trainee were still very nice regardless of situations out of their control. Kinks are to be expected. We popped in on New Year's Day and unfortunately, Deep Ellum was very much dead.. however we stumbled upon this gem. The drinks were cold and service was amazing and extremely friendly. When my friend and I arrived we were told there were no more table available on the patio but they could seat us inside. We ended up with a spacious table in front of the bar area. A little annoying from a restaurant that requires a credit card for a reservation. Luckily the service and food made up for this little hiccup. My friend and I shared the hatch chile queso and negi yellowtail roll. Both were perfect portions to share with a few friends. The queso was very good, maybe one of my favorites in the city. We also tried the shrimp tacos which were good but not a must order for me. Drinks were very good! Perfectly balanced and decently priced on the happy hour menu I can see myself returning again for starters and drinks. A perfect place for brunch, I just don't know how this place is during the hot summers in Dallas I'd give this place a solid 3.5, but we gone give it a 4! We started off with yummy fries, popcorn chicken, and mimosa bottle service. The yummy fries really shocked all of us, very flavorful. We also really enjoyed the popcorn chicken. The mimosa bottle service - absolutely worth it. For main plates, I ordered the Palma smash burger, and was a fan. I did not share, the burger was yummy and a double patty, just the way I love it. The rest of the group ordered the honey butter crunch french toast and chicken biscuit. I tried the French toast and loved it. We lovedddddd our server. I went to Palma with my girlfriends in a Friday night and my biggest takeaway was that I should have been there sooner. Their food was very affordable priced and their portions were decent. Very cutesy Asian/Tex-Mex fusion spot on the edge of Deep Ellum. On my recent visit, I had the queso (get this!) and some sushi rolls and everything was great. Service was fast and friendly for my party of 6. They even gave me the most beautiful complementary dessert (ube sundae) since it was my bday. The only negative would be the flies since the restaurant's doors and windows were open. They did provide a small fan to shoo them away but it wasn't much help. It took 20+ minutes for anyone to even greet us and 30 minutes to get our drinks (our food came out before our drinks did). I'd have a little more understanding if the place was packed, but we went on a Monday evening and there were about 10 tables of people in the whole restaurant. Thank god they do pay by QR code because we probably would have sat there for another 20 minutes waiting for someone to bring the check, and another 20 to actually pay it. I'm going to hope we came on an off day and give it one more chance, but I wouldn't plan to come here if you have somewhere to be. read more

What an amazing happy hour!! I was introduced to this place by a friend, as she picked this place for quality girl time. Our waitress was sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive. We ordered appetizers to share-- crab rangoon, popcorn chicken & both decided on the jalapeño smash burger. My goodness! The burger had two juicy, perfectly grilled, & saucy goodness patties ! For drinks, the splash and Exsw margarita which turned out to be my favorite. Their happy hour is currently from 11-7 which is helpful to those leaving work after 5pm. To note, as it is still pretty warm in Texas, dress in cool clothing as they do leave the patio door open so it does tend to get a bit humid inside. Not worth the money. The only way to make an online reservation was through a system called Tablz and had to pay $35 to secure a table that overlooked the parking lot. The $35 was not refunded or applied toward bill. The patio seating was empty and there was absolutely no reason to pay this total scam! Manager never made it over to table to discuss even after multiple requests to speak with her. Food was mediocre at best. Wine pouring terrible for the price per glass. Very disappointing experience when there are so many great places in Dallas. read more
