I surprisingly enjoyed the Wagyu Glizzy and I really liked the bun that it came in. The Smashburger was simple, but made well. We had the aïoli on the side, just in case it would be too spicy. The fries are boring and I wish there was more to them. The chicken entrée was flavored well. The cheesy potatoes had a fantastic crisp and flavor to them. I wish the broccolini was cooked longer and had more of the lemon flavor to it. We enjoyed our server as she was friendly and checked up on us. We stopped by unexpectedly during happy hour, and the vibe was nice and chill. Even though most of the seats looked full, service was quick. The bartenders, Gabby and Bri, were attentive without being pushy, she welcomed us to gauge what we were feeling. We ordered the P* martini and the calamari, and the food came out fast. The martini was solid, and while I am not a big fan of fried olives, they were only a tiny part of the calamari dish. Heard really great things about the Charlotte and wanted to give it a try! First, we had a reservation but still had to wait about 10-15 min to be seated. However, we did receive exceptional service! I opted for the crab claws, the fried fish and spaghetti, a slice of cornbread, and a porn star martini. This was my first time having crab claws and I must say it wasn't too bad, pretty good! The spaghetti and fish were pretty tasty. I wish the fish could've been fried a teeny bit harder so the breading could've stayed on but other than that I enjoyed it. You could also tell this was real catfish too, not swai. The only thing I did not like was the cornbread- not good flavor nor texture. It had to be remade twice and still wasn't up to par. Loving the bear vibe! Charlotte is sitting next to you as a +1. The cutest concept ever, love how many huge bears they have! Entire place is clean and the bathroom is small but fancy. I'm making The Charlotte my new favorite spot!! I went Friday for happy hour with the girls and went and took my dad for Fathers Day. Both times I went we had amazing service!! Great vibes, love the music, and of course all the food was a hit. Everyone loved everything. The wings were so good, it was my first time having them and you get a lot, enough to share or to eat alone and have some to go home. The cake was so worth it! It was an Oreo cake slice! It was so moist. My mom and I have become a regular here for brunch so it's only fair I right a review. I love this place and the food and drinks have been consistent each visit, which is definitely a plus. Pornstar Martini, Crab Fingers, Spicy Lamb Chops, and Spicy Vodka Pasta are just a few of my favorites but honestly I doubt you'll be disappointed with anything you try on the menu. The Charlotte is a Black-Owned bistro located off Henderson. They offer valet parking at the back of the restaurant but we were lucky to find a couple of street parking spots. For starters we tried the spinach and artichoke dip. This was just okay, the dip itself lacked a little bit of flavor, but it was a cozy app to try. I couldn't decide between the vodka pasta and the burger and our server suggested the latter which I opted for. The burger was good! It comes with a delicious sauce and I ordered a side of truffle fries and broccolini. Overall the vibes were amazing. I didn't indulge in any cocktails so I'm curious to see how those are and will return to check out their patio which was closed for a photoshoot the day we visited. Our server seemed a bit disengaged and we had to flag her down a couple of times because we were forgotten. I really appreciate the free valet parking! Service was very good, and when I asked about suggestions she responded well. I ordered the wings and plantains for myself (two appetizers). For appetizers, we shared the spinach artichoke dip, served with perfectly salted chips, salsa, and (my personal favorite) sour cream. Everything was delicious. For dinner, I had the Kale Salad, Kels ordered the Mafaldine, and Ashley had the Spicy Vodka Shells--which definitely live up to their name! The smash burger was good. It's huge and is loaded with pickles, caramelized onions, cheese and hamburger meat. I opted NOT to get the jerk aioli on it. Thanks to another Yelp review who said the jerk aioli was too much. I asked for that sauce on the side. I'm so glad I did because it reminded me of jerk chicken. I would not have liked it on my burger. It's very spicy and overpowering. I asked for ketchup and mustard and that complimented the burger well. She ordered some truffle fries and I helped her eat them. They give you a lot of fries. They were tasty and definitely enough to share. The Caesar Salad was huge. You can share this too. It's also on the happy hour menu. It was presented nicely. For cocktails we chose the Porn Star Martini which was delicious. The passion fruit flavor was on point. The drink was classy and sassy. I visited The Charlotte for the first time yesterday with friends and family for my cousin's farewell dinner. We initially experienced a minor issue with our seating, but it was addressed and corrected immediately, which I appreciated. What truly turned the evening around, though, was our amazing waitress, Caila! She was incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She answered all of our questions, made helpful recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the evening. I've already reviewed The Charlotte, and my five stars still stand. This time, I tried the catfish and spaghetti. The spaghetti has a slight spice to it that really takes the flavor up a notch. The combination of the two works surprisingly well. My only recommendation would be to fry the catfish a little harder. It was a bit soft, and since you are pairing it with spaghetti, it could really benefit from that extra crunch for better texture contrast. That said, the fish itself was well seasoned and still very good. The staff here continues to be amazing, and the restaurant is just as beautiful as ever.
