Parliament posted their rainy-day happy hour on Instagram the same day I visited, so I was…read moresurprised when the tall bartender with glasses told me the special only applied if it was actively raining at that exact moment. He literally told me, "If a drop of rain comes, then I'll give it to you." It had rained for much of the day, and multiple customers were asking about the same promotion. If the requirement is that rain must physically be falling while you order, that needs to be clearly stated in the advertisement. Otherwise, the promotion feels misleading. I've been to Parliament several times and have never had a bartender interpret the rainy-day happy hour this way. I ended up ordering a smoked Old Fashioned from another bartender I've had before, and it was great. He was friendly, engaging, had great energy, and even did tricks while making the drink. I still enjoyed my cocktail, but it would've been nice to have the option to order from the happy-hour menu as advertised that day. I'm including the Instagram post for reference. I'm very disappointed as I've never not had a good time at Parliament. I really think that the owner should look at the Times stamps around 930 to 10:15pm part night and see the difference of business and traffic flow from when the taller bartender with the glasses versus the shorter Bartender with the glasses was at the front as it was instantly more business. Oh and lastly, I left my Betsy JOHNSON purple umbrella. I'm so sad and they don't have a number to call.

We waited in line like everyone else, remained polite, and followed all instructions given to us. After waiting at the entrance for approximately 15-20 minutes, we respectfully asked the employee working the rope how much longer the wait might be. He explained that a few people needed to leave before anyone else could be admitted, so we thanked him and continued waiting. While we waited, we watched numerous people approach the entrance, greet the employee by saying things like "Hey bro," exchange handshakes, and immediately be allowed inside. At least 15 people were admitted ahead of us after we had already been told to wait. From what we observed, these individuals were not being admitted because they had reserved tables--they were simply allowed to enter. When I asked again why we were still waiting, the employee changed his explanation and stated that we could not be admitted because of the dress code. This was confusing because we had just watched multiple guests enter wearing clothing that appeared to violate the same dress code. When I politely pointed out this inconsistency, he ignored my question. He then gave a completely different reason, telling me that we were being denied entry because of a review I had left over a year ago. I explained that customer reviews--whether positive or negative--are a normal part of operating a business and that my review was an honest account of my experience. It contained no false information or fabricated events. I also pointed out that the establishment has many reviews, so a review from over a year ago should not determine whether a paying customer is allowed to enter. The employee then stated, "You didn't say kind words about me in your review." At that point, it became clear that this decision was personal rather than based on any legitimate policy. As the conversation continued, the employee became increasingly aggressive toward my friends and me. We remained calm and respectful throughout the interaction. We are professionals with established careers and had no intention of creating a disturbance or behaving disrespectfully. The employee then threatened to call the police. I responded that he was welcome to do so because we had done absolutely nothing wrong and were happy to explain the situation. When the officers arrived, both sides were able to explain what had happened. After speaking with everyone, one of the officers informed us that we had done nothing wrong and apologized for the inconvenience and embarrassment we had experienced. Afterward, I asked if I could speak with a manager regarding the situation. The employee refused my request, stating that he was the "door guy" and that he was not going to get a manager because it was his responsibility to handle the situation and he no longer wished to engage with us. This entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and extremely disappointing. I was visiting town for work, as I no longer live in the area, and this was not the type of treatment I expected from an establishment where I have previously spent money and have never caused any problems. I am requesting that upper management or the owner contact me directly regarding this incident. Denying entry based on a personal disagreement over an honest customer review, while providing inconsistent explanations and refusing access to management, is unacceptable customer service. I hope this matter will be investigated so that future guests are treated fairly, respectfully, and consistently.

We ordered the Crispy Rock Shrimp (very good), Wagyu Dumplings (outstanding), and a mushroom and truffle item (I don't know what it was called on the menu and I didn't actually know what it was when it came out; it was mushy and the flavor was not good; we did not finish it). **Extremely Disappointed With the Treatment We Received** My friend and I decided to give Joey's Maple a try tonight, and unfortunately, the experience started off on a very disappointing note. We were not allowed inside because I was wearing a graphic T-shirt.We were made to wait outside until the manager came out to speak with us, and the interaction left me feeling judged, unwelcome, and honestly, quite offended. What made this experience even more frustrating is that I took the time to look at the dress code on the restaurant's website. It states that the dress code is "smart casual" and that athletic wear and revealing clothing are not accepted. I was wearing nice shorts and a graphic T-shirt. I was not wearing athletic wear or anything revealing, and in my opinion, I was dressed appropriately for a smart-casual setting. If graphic T-shirts are not permitted, that should be clearly communicated so guests know what to expect before arriving. The manager's demeanor came across as dismissive and condescending, which only made an already uncomfortable situation worse.There is a respectful way to communicate and enforce a dress code, and unfortunately, that was not how this situation was handled. I told the manager that we would be happy to take our business to Capital grill next door, where we could spend our money instead.. We also visited the new Élephante restaurant down the street, where we were welcomed without any issues and received the friendly experience we had been looking for. At the end of the day, we were simply two guests looking to enjoy a nice evening out and try a new restaurant.. Instead, we left feeling disrespected before we even had the opportunity to sit down. **A reminder to Joey's Maple: never judge a book by its cover.** You never know who someone is, who they know, or the connections and business they may bring. First impressions matter, and the way guests are treated at the door can determine whether they ever choose to return. I am a frequent and loyal customer of Joeys and have always enjoyed the food and overall experience. Unfortunately, during a recent visit to the 2508 Maple St. location in Uptown Dallas, I had an experience that I felt was important to share. I had gotten off work late and stopped by because I was craving some of my favorite menu items, including the miso mushrooms, Cajun chicken, and, of course, the butter cake for dessert. I was looking forward to dining in, especially since the restaurant was relatively quiet with very few customers inside. However, I was disappointed by my interaction with Mariana, a newer employee who mentioned that I was not meeting the restaurant's dress-code expectations. While I understand and respect the importance of maintaining a dress code, I felt that the situation could have been handled in a more welcoming and professional manner, particularly given that the restaurant was nearly empty and I was simply there to enjoy a meal. Unfortunately, I was not given the option to dine in. I was informed that I could not remain in the restaurant because of the dress-code concern, effectively leaving me with no choice but to take my order to go. I found this especially disappointing given that I had specifically come in hoping to enjoy my meal there. I will continue to support Joyes because I genuinely enjoy the food and the brand. However, I strongly encourage the team at the 2508 Maple St. location, particularly management, to address this type of customer-service experience so that loyal customers continue to feel welcomed and valued. We've been to JOEY Dallas twice recently, and I think we've officially found our new spot. When we lived in Hollywood, Osteria Mamma was our place. It was the restaurant we could always count on and kept going back to, and since moving to Dallas we really haven't found that same kind of go-to place... until now. I have a feeling JOEY is going to be our new Osteria Mamma. This last visit, Morgan took care of us and she was amazing. So sweet, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Yune, the manager, was just as wonderful. Both of them made us feel like they actually cared that we were having a great night, and that makes such a difference. And the tomahawk steak was SUPERB. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and absolutely worth ordering again. We were also here the week before and had the caviar and sea bass, and both were incredible. The happy hour and happy hour appetizers advertised are ONLY at the bar, even though the place was completely empty (now I know why) the drinks were very pricey and mediocre at best. The menu online is different that the menu in the restaurant itself, when i finally settled on an appetizers , they were "out" and again, decide on a meal that I wasn't expecting to settle on bc what I wanted online wasn't actually an option, they were "out " i seteltes on a flatbread, it was gross and left hungry, seriously cannot express the disappointment in this place and now it is obvious why it was empty the entire time we were there.

When I asked Vanessa what glasses were turned in, she told me what they were before I could even describe them, meaning they had my glasses. After, I told her I would come get them the next day. The next day, I came to pick them up, and when I told them I was there to get my glasses, the Catbird employees told me they couldn't find my glasses, which is wild bc Vanessa just told me the day before they were there. I talked to security and management and no one knew where they were. Catbird just lost my $500 Chanel sunglasses in under 24 hours! How was this possible, especially if I already claimed them? It seems like someone might've taken them. The Management at Catbird (Preston, Collin, Marty) have all been very unhelpful and disrespectful towards me. I know they do not care. They told me they would call me back every time, and every single time, no one has contacted me, making my boyfriend or I have to continuously reach out to them. They had my glasses and they lost them, and are being super unhelpful and uncooperative in helping me locate them. Security - Victor at the Thompson Hotel has told me that there are security cameras in the Lobby but no one has reviewed them and it's been weeks. Why? We have called many times, and No one has given me any updates. I'm fed up with their terrible customer service and them delaying this process but making promises and commitments they don't intend to keep. These glasses are from my grandma who has passed away. They are priceless, and now, Catbird has lost them. If you come to Catbird, make sure you don't lose anything because no one there will help you. They will just keep it for themselves. I have never been treated so terribly by a restaurant or a bar before, which is very disappointing since this labeled as a "upscale cocktail bar"

What I appreciated most was that he listened and acknowledged my concerns without trying to explain them away. As a customer, I felt heard and valued. Adam invited me back for the next Ramen Night, and this time I brought friends. We were seated in a booth and ordered the featured ramen, which happened to be a gumbo ramen. It wasn't quite my taste--there was a lot going on flavor-wise--but the service experience was completely different. The restaurant felt much less hectic, and the hospitality really stood out. Eric walked us through the menu, made excellent drink recommendations, and made sure our waters never went empty. We also had the ube dessert, which was unexpectedly delicious. Everyone at the table was scraping the plate clean. A special shoutout to Stephanie at the host stand, who also made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. Another noticeable improvement: the kitchen packed our leftovers for us instead of having guests juggle large bowls of broth at the table. Overall, this was the elevated dining experience and level of care I expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
