Our experience was far below expectations. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived, which I understand during a busy service, but things only went downhill from there. The service felt distant and rushed. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu, gave us conflicting information about drink availability, and rarely checked on us. We specifically asked not to be rushed, yet our entrées arrived while we were only a quarter of the way through our appetizer. At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The cocktails were the highlight, but overall, the service, food, pacing, and cleanliness did not meet expectations. One star. Very disappointing, and I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

Apothecary is a great spot for a date night or drinks with friends. They have two distinct spaces: Alchemy, which has a cozy, intimate vibe, and Archive, which feels more like a stylish lounge. We visited Alchemy and loved the atmosphere. The service was excellent, and our server gave us some great recommendations throughout the evening. We tried the I Dream of Kiwi, Only Fans, and the Soft Serve Margarita. The first two were refreshing, fruity, and packed with flavor, while the Soft Serve Margarita was a fun twist on a classic. For food, we had the Caesar salad, beef cheek tacos, and the Apothecary Burger with the truffle fries upgrade. The Caesar was a little too heavy on the dressing for my taste, making it quite fishy, so I'd recommend asking for the dressing on the side or going light on it. The burger with truffle fries was easily a 9/10, and the beef cheek tacos were just as good--tender, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. One of the best parts is the happy hour offered every day until 6:30 PM, with all "Over the Counter" cocktails for $12 and 50% off food. It's one of the better happy hour deals in Dallas, especially considering the quality of the food, drinks, and overall experience. We'll definitely be back. read more

Apothecary offers customers a unique drinking and dining experience through its use of two different options between its Archive section and its Alchemy section, both utilizing their own separate spaces of the same building. That's not where the differences stop as the Archive menu provides more traditional cocktails and a diverse array to choose from, with drinks you may be more familiar with. Alchemy on the other hand offers a more experimental approach to their drink menu, including creative cocktails that seem eclectic and never been tried before, using unusual ingredients or prepared in a unique way, but if you are feeling adventurous, I'd highly recommend trying the latter. Keep in mind, when entering Alchemy, the inside is very dark so if you want to see properly I would recommend sitting outside if it isn't too hot. To start, my friends and I ordered the truffle fries for the table and they were highly ranked in my opinion for best truffle fries in Dallas. They were perfectly crispy and flavored well with the truffle seasoning. For drinks, from the alchemy menu, we ordered the I Dream of Kiwi (my choice), Kaleidoscope Eyes, and Inappropriate Beet Pun. My drink was made up of bamboo tea gin, kiwi coconut water, plum wine, and kiwi boba. I liked the sweetness mixed with tartness and the boba balls added a nice touch. Additionally we ordered the pineapple soft serve margaritas (it was my first time experiencing soft serve margs) and I really enjoyed Apothecary's version. The pineapple flavor was tangy alongside the creaminess of the ice cream. And there was a nice chili salt garnish (similar to tajin) added on top. For food, I ordered the Lil' Thuggies, a hilarious name for a dish that is actually very delicious. It consisted of popcorn chicken nuggets, cooked in sweet tea brine and spiced flour, served with a side of epazote ranch and korean wing sauce respectively. My friends ordered the Japanese elotes and Muhammara (roasted red pepper & walnut spread, greek oil, sea salt, microgreens, grilled baguette). Both very tasty as well, with the elotes having a cream sauce on top. Overall I can't wait to go back to apothecary and maybe try the other side next time. read more

Started at Archive and ended the night at Alchemy (two separate reservations for a Saturday night.) Was pleasantly surprised their happy hour included Saturday and went until 6:30pm. Ordered a couple "Over the Counter" cocktails - frozen pineapple margarita and an old fashioned. Happy hour also included a lot of food options so we chose to just order a bunch off of that - Icelandic Hotdog, Caviar Chip (both bite sized), oysters, beef cheek tacos, and a caesar salad and burger to split. Was more than enough! We also tried the frozen Irish Coffee and Horseplay (horseradish agua fresca) and then went for our second reservation at Alchemy. Alchemy is more experimental. Here we tried a kimchi based cocktail and the sauerkraut cake. Food and drinks were all phenomenal and the atmosphere of both bars was moody and elegant. I went for happy hour on Tuesday. I had previously only went when it was smaller and next door so when I entered, I was initially confused by the place. The staff was very inviting and I felt seen and talked to. I ordered: Icelandic hot dog: without happy hour price this would have been 7$. I would not recommend anyone order it at that price but for happy hour half off price, it was more reasonable. Scallop tostada thing: flavors were good. I think full price it was 6 or 8 dollars but for half price it was totally worth it and an interesting bite with food acidity Salmon dip: was gooey and huge and about 17$. I think the pieces of smoked salmon were a little too big for the chip. Pineapple dole whip drink: 12$ happy hour prices. It was Soo yummy and I loved the tajin on top and it was an alcoholic ice cream. Yumm Only fans: also a pretty good drink. Smooth but I would get the pineapple drink again. My partner and I had been to the original Apothecary before the merger with Rye, so we were excited to check out the new concept. Overall, we had an ok experience. I started with the "Ghana Be Kidding" cocktail. It featured prekese syrup -- which I had no idea what it was--a flavor that's popular in West Africa, and while it was an interesting and unique drink, it ended up being much sweeter than I expected and just wasn't for me. Thankfully, our waiter Victor was incredibly kind and accommodating. He happily helped me choose something else and made sure I ended up with a drink I enjoyed. This place keeps coming up when I was looking into bars at Dallas, so I knew I had to check it out - and I am glad I did. We came on a Tuesday night and even then they were busy. We didn't have to wait for a table but the place was full by the time we sat down. Vibe is intimate and chic - dim lighting, velvet seating and vintage-inspired decor. It's perfect spot for a date night or catching up with friends over drinks. Their cocktails had fun and interesting flavor combinations that you won't find elsewhere. The bar bites were also surprisingly good but I didn't enjoy the Kraut cake too much - it was too sweet and lacks complexity. This was the first bar I visited while in Greenville and I absolutely loved the vibe of it. There were three different seating options but my friend and I chose to do bar seating! The ambiance is super moody but also really social, everyone was so easy to talk to! Our bartender did an amazing job at the drinks and recommending us where to visit. I ordered a birthday champagne, which was very light and fruity! My friend got an "only fans" which had tequila, passion fruit, and orange! It was also a really sweet and refreshing drink. I visited Apothecary on a Sunday evening -- the left side (the original, not the side that Rye used to occupy). A low-lit lounge and bar, a space that feels intimate and yet, the music playing from the speakers (not too loud, just there) gives it an expectant energy, too. Finally got a chance to stop by Apothecary after hearing about the cocktail program for so long and being a fan of Rye for many years. My husband and I and a good friend of ours came on a Saturday night at the end of April and had a blast trying several different drinks and delicious bites. My favorite cocktail of the night was the Butter Curry cocktail; I thought it tasted just like advertised but somehow still with this smooth sweetness that went down dangerously easy :) The smoked salmon tea sandwiches were a bit dry but we always love the beef cheek tacos and have to order it every time it's on the menu, and it did not disappoint. Surprise hit was the fish eggs and chips dish, which came with perfectly crispy fries and an incredibly delicious and generous portion of creme fraiche onion dip studded with salmon roe and caviar. We had so much dip that we ordered another heaping serving of fries to finish it off! And of course, since I've been dying to try the chocolate kraut cake, we ordered that even though we were already pretty stuffed. I'm not usually a chocolate enjoyer but the sauerkraut really balanced the richness of the chocolate out; I kept saying it was like the very best version of a black forest cake, with the cherries swapped out for sweet-tart bits of kraut. Delicious and highly recommended. I read a few days after our visit that Apothecary's doing some sort of cocktail passport through the summer for each of the decade-based menus, so I guess we'll have to stop by again some time soon! This was my first time coming to Apothercary, came around 7pm so there was no issue getting in without a reservation. It's super cute inside with a nice bar and different seating areas. They had great music on and a menu with tons of items. My cocktail Horse Play was super yummy, it had tequila, cucumber horseradish and agua fresca . Pretty normalish prices around $20 a drink. All the cocktails were fun and delicious. The food was delicious too, I just wish the mussels were cooked 2-3 minutes more. While out for dinner, my partner and I decided to stop by Apothecary for a night cap as we love a good speakeasy vibe. Outside, there's an unassuming door with a few tables out front. We walk in and we're immediately greeted by a friendly host amongst a dark, warm interior. The space is small and was pretty packed once we arrived so there was no seating available inside. So we opted to sit outside until a table was free. While it was a bit chilly, each table has a small fire pit which was very cozy. We sat for a few moments before a space opened up and we were inside. The decor is amazing. And what was even more amazing were the drinks. Sadly I forgot her name, but she said she's been working here for I think 5 years and was EXCELLENT!! She listened to our preferences and knew exactly what to relay to the bartenders to whip up for us. My friends and I love mocktails, and she asked us to name 3 adjectives or if we have any syrups we wanted in particular. She did FANTASTIC. This bar is amazing and I will definitely return. I have never had a bar that was so accommodating and constantly checking up on us to make sure we were ok and liking our drinks! One thing to note that makes it special from other bars is that it truly lives up to its name. Every drink item on there is so unique and has some fun ingredients added to it that (supposedly) works well! I remember seeing egg whites, pandan, mascarpone meringue, butter curry???! Wow! But of course you can order your classic items as well. The menu is for people who want to experience new and exciting things. Warning!! I've been wanting to come here for a long time and finally made it to Apothecary last night for a friend's birthday gathering. This is a speakeasy next door to Rye. It's very small and intimate with a very cool ambiance that would be great for a girls night or a date. The drinks are really good and creative. There are a lot of savory ingredients in many of the signature cocktails. One of the cocktails had garlic and thyme in it while another had beets and blue cheese. I had the Pekin Tom (peach smoked old fashioned) and a Manhattan. Both drinks were really good! The drinks here range between $14 and $20 so keep that in mind. Although Apothecary has some food offerings, its primary focus is on the drinks. Many of the dishes are small bites. We had the chicken tacos, funnel cake fries, and the meatballs. The fries were strange and didn't taste at all like fries and more like snake-like hushpuppies. The tacos were meh, granted I put the spicy sauce on the side. However, the meatballs were excellent. They were a tangy, Asian flavor, which was unexpected, and very tender. Our waiter was really funny and friendly, and was very patient with us as we made our drink choices. I'd definitely come back and I definitely recommend Apothecary. It's a very unique and nice spot! read more

Wow...the place offers it all. Fantastic ambiance (dark & moody vibe), amazing drinks and spectacular service. Our waiter was able to recommend drinks based on our alcohol preferences and not a single drink disappointed. The flavors of each craft cocktail were phenomenal. Service was very quick for being a craft cocktail lounge however we arrived at 5pm. Honestly it was great since we had the whole place to ourselves for the first 15 minutes until others started to trickle in. I would highly recommend the Apothecary to anyone looking for a great drink that offers a full experience. I'm already looking forward to going back and taking friends. Our first time at Apothecary. I'm giving a 4 star based on the atmosphere. The atmosphere was pretty cool and chill. A few areas of opportunity: (I am going to bullet point in random order) 1. We ordered the charcuterie board. Def NOT worth the $36. The meats were sub par, there were only 5 small thick crackers, and the other additions were nothing special. The other food seemed VERY over priced so we decided to go elsewhere for dinner. 2. The cocktail concept was creative; however the quality of the drinks were "meh." The Dude was "ok" but overly "milky" and had a weird aftertaste. We also ordered a few "basic" cocktails that were "fine" but I'm not sure they were worth the $20 per drink price tag. 3. The service was "fine." They do emphasize the time limit for parties of 2, 3, etc but I think the servers are "hyper-sensitive" about it making it almost uncomfortable like you can't enjoy your time there -- almost as if you just have to hurry. The guests sitting next to us blatantly asked the server "if we keep ordering drinks can we at least stand at the bar?" The sever said "I'll check to see if there will be room." I thought it was crazy the server would actually turn business away based on their time limit coming to an end! Overall, I liked the ambiance and atmosphere.
