My first visit here went really well, which is why this most recent experience caught me off guard a bit. The first time, we sat at the bar during happy hour and were taken care of by Abe and Lo. They were attentive, welcoming, and made the experience smooth from start to finish. We were able to grab seats easily, enjoy happy hour, and everything felt relaxed and enjoyable. This time around, the experience was noticeably different. We sat at the bar again, but the bartender we initially had wasn't very welcoming. Menus were kind of tossed our way, and there was some hesitation about providing a happy hour menu. Once we did get it, we were told we didn't really have time to order, which felt a bit rushed and confusing. Thankfully, Abe stepped in and turned things around for us, which we really appreciated. I will say, the restaurant itself has a great ambiance--very stylish and gives off a vibe similar to Hudson House. Definitely a nice spot to sit and unwind. And a small but memorable detail: the bathrooms have heated seats, which was unexpected but kind of a fun touch. Overall, the drinks and service were just okay this time. I've been to Ramble Room several times and this visit was the best yet. Started out with cocktails at the bar. Bartender was very friendly (Lo or Low was his name) and made us a killer marg on the rocks with a gramma floater. Excellent start. I was with four other people and we decided to go family style. Cacio y Pepe broiled oysters - amazing! One of if not the best bite of the evening. Swedish Meatballs - always good Crab dip - absolutely delicious. My favorite in town now. Lobster Pasta - served on spaghetti with a spicy tomato sauce. Huge chunks of lobster Sausage Rigatoni - this has been a favorite since day one and still kills Skillet brownie à la mode - another long time favorite and did not disappoint Everyone at the table raved about the meal Service was excellent and I love the ambiance. Celebrated a friend's birthday here and had a great time! The drinks are definitely the highlight. I loved the Pink Lemonade Spritz. I also tried the Crab Dip and the Ahi Tuna Tartare. The crab dip is another must order! Was essentially a creamy, cheesy, spinach dip with lump crab. There were plenty of chips to go with it which I appreciated. I also really liked the tartare as well! Service was okay- a little slow, they got one of my friend's orders wrong and took a while to bring out a new entree. The manager was very kind and offered for us to try the wrong entree and also got my friend a free birthday dessert which we appreciated! But then the bill charged us for both of those items so we had to call them back to get it resolved lol. So a little touch and go there but overall very nice people! The blackberry smash had great fruity flavors and the added touch of the jam in a sample spoon was fun! The blood orange margarita was very tequila forward and had a great citrus taste. The deviled eggs were so good!! The filling had a wonderful flavor. The burger was cooked perfectly and the burger was seasoned so well. The toppings for the burger turned it up a notch for sure. The Italian sausage pasta was also full of flavor and the kale on top was a perfect crisp at the top. Ending with the brownie sundae was perfection. The GOOD: This is beautiful restaurant in Snider Plaza. We ordered three appetizers and several entrees which came out super quick from the kitchen. All were delicious and filled with flavor. The BAD: My cucumber martini arrived in a non-martini class, but even worse, it was less than 1/2 full upon arrival. I asked the waitress about this and was met with attitude that it was the proper amount of martini in the glass. For $18.... It most certainly is not. No resolution came from our discussion so I sadly drank my martini in 3 sips and ended my drink order there. The tiny martini and waitress' attitude is why I gave 3/5 stars. We had a team get together on Tuesday night the 4th of November. We ate out on the patio. I had the best meal ever, the cauliflower bisque. It tasted amazing and looked delicious. Our service staff was solicitous without hovering and recommended appetizers enjoyed by one and all. This place is the total package for a get together, a family meal or dinner for two. read more

Pretty good overall, but despite the heat lamps seem to dish up entrees on barely warm plates. Vegetable base arrives hot but protein arrives barely warm Wine - great selections. Stick to sparkling, Roses and whites. Reds are served too warm for discerning palates. Primary disappointment is the meats. My ribeyes was cooked to medium as requested. It had a good char, but was barely warm. The butter didn't really melt on it. It seemed like. "Choice" grade of meat as opposed to "prime." The charge for this piece was $69. Basically a Capital Grille price but quality was more like your neighborhood tavern. My wife's Barramundi (fish) was better. read more

I learned about this restaurant/bar through my passport book, which allowed me to get a margarita for $1.01 when it is normally $15. Our bartender was very nice and greeted us immediately, and it was cool that he knew the passport book, which was nice because that was not the case to some of the other locations I visited. He made our drink and made small talk even though the bar was packed. The restaurant and bar was dimly lite, and it had a classy vibe. I'm glad I was a little dressed up because it is on an upscale side of town. Our bartender asked if we were going to eat and drink or just drink. We chose to drink because it was the last visit on a full day excursion. They offer appetizers, dips, soups and salads, pasta, burgers, and salads, as well as entrees. Prices ranging from $13 - $69. Free parking is across the street, you may have to park far depending on how busy the shops are and the time of day. I would go again if I was on this side of town. Delicious drinks, and they have a super fun cookies & cream martini. It's one of our favorite places to pop in for a quick drink if we're waiting on a dinner reservation elsewhere. Went in with high hopes and left with... a full stomach, I guess? That's about the best thing I can say about Ramble Room. The food isn't bad in the way that makes you send it back -- it's bad in the way that makes you wonder why you bothered leaving the house. Every dish we tried was aggressively mediocre. The burger tasted like it came from a cafeteria steam tray. The fries were limp, barely seasoned, and clearly hadn't seen a fryer at the right temperature. The pasta special of the night sounded exciting on paper and tasted like something reheated from a grocery store brand. There's no soul here. No creativity. No sense that anyone in that kitchen actually cares about what's going out to the table. It's the culinary equivalent of a shrug. The portions are fine, the prices are average, and the ambiance is perfectly forgettable -- so at least everything is consistent in its blandness. Ramble Room, you're not a disaster. You're something worse: you're boring. You have a real opportunity to be something people talk about, and right now the only thing worth talking about is how much potential you're wasting. Get a chef who has a point of view. Rethink your menu. Care a little. Until then, I'll be eating literally anywhere else. read more

This is a great place designed to feel like a Charles Dilbeck home. This place rambles from area to area. Great food and great staff. Location is in Snider Plaza which is nice for walking around. Great bar area for drinks or dinner. Great atmosphere and you never know who you might see here which is always fun. Wedge salad was nice. The meatballs are a great shareable appetizer as it the Tuna tower. My wife, who maybe, a bit more particular in her orders than others gives a double thumbs up on the meatballs. I've never been to a restaurant that served food so quickly, with the presentation being spot on! The ricotta smoked salmon dip was so savory and flavorful, served with fresh, toasted buttery bread! I would have gotten a second round of the salmon dip, but I didn't want to be too greedy! The apple pie French toast was so delicious! Every bite has a piece of cinnamon crumble, caramelized apple, and candied pecan! And the seasoned fries literally tasted like a Lays bbq chip but in a good way! So, for anyone who is familiar with how much of a challenge parking can be at Snyder Plaza, this garage has solved the problem. And the restaurant validates. So don't let past parking experiences deter you from coming here. Vibe is casual. Dress casual. Brunch menu is standard fare. Good. I wouldn't say it is life changing, but it is hits the spot. HUGE portions. I could have easily shared my BLT with another person. My only ding is that the BLT came with a lot of scrambled egg. Like, a lot. I like BLTs because they are usually a lighter option than a traditional sandwich or burger. This BLT was heavy. Anyway, come here for brunch. If you devote a section of your menu to Martini Bar those drinks better be good. This was one of the worst dirty martini's I've ever had and I drink them everywhere. First lesson, the glasses MUST be icy cold ! The cacio e pepe oysters were such a disappointment, not even warm and I'm pretty sure the parm cheese on top was from a jar.The "roll" for the lobster roll was awful. Underwhelmed is an understatement. I was sooooo excited to finally try out Ramble Room as many local food influencers have posted about it; however, they clearly did not have the same experience as I did. To begin, while the hostesses were friendly, they seemed noticeably confused when we walked in. No question as to whether or not we had a reservation, just a friendly "hello" followed by blank stare. From there, we decided to sit at the bar to which I will say, our order was taken promptly, but then it was a WAITING GAME. We ordered a whiskey flight and cucumber martini in which the whiskey flight came out first with no sign of the cucumber martini. As a former industry member, I understand certain items being ready before others and not wanting a stale ticket/item; however, drinks typically come out together or back to back. Upon delivery of the whiskey flight, we noticed there was an unidentified crumb in one of the glasses. We had to flag down a bartender who was quick to say "your other drink is coming" in a very rude tone to which I said "no problem. My concern is with THIS drink". He took the glass with the issue, said a low "okay" dumped it out and started pouring other drinks. Another bartender brought the martini out a few minutes later with still no sign of the replacement whiskey. After finishing the 2 other whiskey samples, we had to flag down a hostess that was doing server duties to get the drink resolved as the bartenders were not attentive and we didn't want to cause a scene by yelling across the bar for service. After another 3-5 minutes we finally received the last whiskey sample. At this point, we had not even been asked if we were interested in ordering food and were quite frankly over the experience so decided to ask for the tab, as opposed to ordering food which we originally planned to do, which resulted in ANOTHER waiting game that was 15+ minutes at which point we had to practically yell "excuse me" to get the bartender's attention as he was not paying our section any attention. I will end this with a situational caveat of there being a decent sized women's group (about 15) that was there during our visit; however, there were multiple bartenders, a busser, 2 hosts, and at minimum 2 servers with only a few other guests at the bar and 3 tables. While the group event may have been unexpected, this is still something that any team of this size should be able to manage without service being impeded. The highlights of the experience were my martini was delicious and the hostesses were kind. I do not plan to return and cannot imagine the delay in service during a dinner or lunch rush time. read more

Met up with a girlfriend for dinner. Arrived at 5:30 to sample some HH. They have 3 dips to offer. Goat cheese (I think. It's the first one listed), French Onion dip, and crab dip. Ordered the Goat cheese. It was like soup and served with buttered and grilled diagonally cut slices of bread. Definitely not good. When we looked at the menu it get to us like they not quite sure what they want to be. We couldn't find anything that we wanted after having the yucky dip. Great place for brunch! I had the Plaza Burger (cooked medium), and was cooked perfectly. I had it with the Nitro Expresso Martini. Very good. Only issue I had was with the condiments. Just had brunch at ramble room and it was delicious. Started off with the cinnamon rolls for the table and they are spectacular with a lemon zest. Do not miss this. Next we had the smoked salmon and ricotta dip appetizer which was amazing. The blackberry bramble is a great tasting gin berry drink. They have Tito's on tap for ice cold martinis. The filthy and the vesper were both spectacular. Our server Fernando was very attentive and made the brunch even better. It's a very comfortable ambiance and classified as a place to dress up a little more than normal. The chicken sandwich was superb and the egg white frittata was gorgeous and tasty. The avocado and prosciutto Benedict could have possibly been missed but was not bad by any means. The corned beef hash was also a standout. Came here for a SUPER early dinner (5:15!) with friends in the middle of the week. It was a gorgeous Spring day, and my first observation as I walked to the restaurant entrance from the parking garage were the diners enjoying the weather on the patio area. Lucky bastards. ;) The interior is beautiful. Classy and modern without being stuffy. And we found out we had made it in time for happy hour, which ended at 6 pm. So drinks (I don't remember which ones) and appetizers were half off. I didn't drink, but my friends and I shared several appetizers: the Caesar Brussels, the Warm Ricotta Dip, and the Calamari. My favorite was the brussels, which was creamy and flavorful; any dish that can make me enjoy vegetables is a winner in my book. The calamari was the only so-so item. The squid pieces were fairly small/thin, and there seemed to be more breading than squid. My entrée was the Brick Chicken, and it was delicious. The chicken was moist, and the seasoning was just right (not too salty, not too bland). For dessert, we shared the coconut cake, which was also delicious... except for the fact that it was kinda frozen. Either that, or the cake was really hard for another reason (by design?). Neighborhood restaurant that i have been pulling for but today got the jersey around Service that will cause these Neighborhood places to go away. Had a reservation and they obviously decided to accommodate a big party later on. My advice go to Il Bracco. The food the atmosphere are better but the service and care for customers is WAY better.
