This review is long overdue but hey as long as I get it done. We were luckily referred to Harwood Arms by the front desk of our hotel at check-in, which was conveniently within walking distance (~10 mins) and has a kitchen that's open late which was nice after a day of travel, later check-in and being hungry. It was a few days before Thanksgiving, there was a decent crowd in the bar and everyone including the bartender (who's name I now cant remember because I took so long to write this) were all very friendly and helpful. The bar was warm, cozy and decked out in Christmas decor (and cute bathroom wallpaper). Good beer selection, great food (I literally ate the tikka masala twice during our couple day trip) and they were conveniently open on Thanksgiving after the game and a fun shot wheel, which was both fun to partake in and fun to watch others do. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves back in Dallas. read more

We found free parking on the street a short distance. As we entered, Jade welcomed us so we sat at her bar. My daughter and I split Eggs Benedict and a Scottish Egg. It was my 1st Scottish Egg and it was incredibly delicious; so much flavor!! We were celebrating my daughter's birthday so she got a drink with a candle!! There was a Cincinnati Browns game on and a large fan group were cheering on the team so it was a bit loud but fun to watch the excitement. I ended up here by sheer accident and it turned out to be the best way to end my night. My Fiance and I were greeted at the door by the most kind bouncer that we've ever met, Will. I came in looking for my keys, and he immediately jumped into action mode and said "we'll figure this out together". He grabbed his manager, Alicia, who was also so kind and helpful. They both went above and beyond to help me solve a problem that wasn't theirs. So once we recovered the keys, we figured we might as well stay and try some food! We got the garlic fries because they smelled phenomenal and they were great. The bartender who served us was also awesome. He was so quick and looked like he was making a mean drink for whoever ordered! We plan to return to try the fish and chips as they were sold out yesterday. Wow what a neat concept ! I felt like I was stepping right back into a pub in Scotland from a trip I took once . Lots of great private seating and even a large outside patio. The staff was just right , checked in us often enough but didn't hover over us. The food was also delish. We tried the grinch dip off the holiday menu (spinach dip and pita) it was a large serving too! Tasted fresh(maybe a tad more pitas next time since the serving was so large)! It was a cold night so I took advantage of that and got the beef and barley soup .. it was also a nice size and fresh and tasty. Hubs got the fish and chips- it came with sauces and a cute bottle vinegar. He loved them(I stole a Few chips and they are fresh and made in house) We had a cocktail as well. Great environment. It was Christmas theme so that was nice. Loved the live band. Went with a big group so they were able to accommodate us. Food wise, I had the burger and it was a solid burger, nothing special. The garlic fries were incredible. Our waiter was a little rude. I'm giving a generous 4 stars. Disappointed but still hopeful, I ordered the fish and chips. While the fish itself looked and tasted good, the "chips" were really just over-seasoned, thinly sliced potatoes--more like American-style chips, not the traditional thick-cut chips that should have come with the dish. I'm not a fan of skinny fries but the seasoning on them was incredible. My patty welt was huge and tasted just like I was expecting. Was also very flavorful. My friend got the fish and chips and said it was great as well, and the fry "chips" were great. Presentation wise the food looked amazing as well. The reason it loses a star is for our "Christmas" drinks. We ordered a "polar bear espresso martini" off the special holiday menu and I was so excited for it to be Christmassy in some way. Sadly, there was no "polar bear" aspect to it. We saw other drinks come in fun Christmas cups etc but sadly ours did not. This was my first time getting an espresso martini and it was also just horrible. There was no cream to it whatsoever which I heard it is supposed to have. I was pretty bummed since it tasted like straight vodka and coffee which I could have made at home and spared the very steep $16. All in all, food and decoration wise, this place is amazing! Came here for a friends birthday. Prior to everyone else arriving, we got a table for two to get some a food. The loaded potato skins were really good. The pretzels were interesting because they were deep fried. The sauce they came with helped balance them. When everyone else arrived, we waited for a larger table. This was a great idea. We ended up with a booth and a spot where people could come and go from. I will say this place is VERY loud and the line outside after the band started was long. Additionally, everything seemed expensive for what you got. It was $11 for a Tito's drink and our dinner of two apps and two drinks each was $80. We easily spent a lot of money here for an evening out but we were amount good company. The womens restroom only has two stalls so when the band stops performing prepare for a long wait. read more

I will say $6 wines is excellent for happy hour - I was shocked at the price. But it's also your average not anything to write about wine. There was a holiday party so we could only sit outside. The printed out menu isn't inclusive of all the drinks so you have to scan the QR code which was confusing to me. The staff was friendly despite the large parties. I didn't eat here so I can't attest. I guess now that I don't live in Dallas I want the fancier special bars but this great east coast vibey bar with a huge interior and exterior. This will be a one-and-done visit for us. Website doesn't mention that you can only order off the Brunch menu on Saturday until 4pm, thus limiting menu items offered. We had the reuben sandwich, which contained exactly 2 slices of meat and no visible saurkraut. Was lacking, especially for the price. We also had the fish and chips, which were lightly battered and very tasty. We were surprised at the lack of beer choices on tap and no authentic pub glasses. The ambiance was charming, but it wasn't enough to garner a second chance. It was additionally disconcerting that there was no decent music being played - would've been nice to hear something culturally authentic. I went to see a friend's band, (Justin Cashion). I had a really fun time. The venue was crowded, but the atmosphere was lively the ambiance was great. after a few drinks, I decided to order something to eat I was recommended the fish and chips by the waitress she was very pleasant and helpful; she found me a spot to sit down and eat while watching my friend perform. It was a wonderful experience. I haven't been out in a while and typically don't enjoy going out due to the crowds, but this particular crowd was mindful of personal space and generally pleasant to be around. I would give this place a five-star rating for the food and a ten-star salute for my friend's performance. I truly appreciate the courtesy and kindness everyone displayed. If you're looking for some of the best fish and chips I've ever had without traveling to England, I highly recommend this place. However, if you do have the chance to go to England, I would recommend that as well. They have happy hour which I highly reccomend you try. Favorite drinks on hh have to be the old fashioned and whisky sour. The rosemary cucumber gimlet is strong in cucumber flavor and sour so if you don't like those two combinations then you may not like that drink. The whisky sour isn't actually sour which I liked and the cherry they use on top is so goodd! Try the Ruben fries and scotch egg app! Service is quick and very accommodating and nice. Food: We ordered the chicken tikka skewers and the lemon pepper skewers. Both were great definitely get the chocolate dessert. It's a huge portion but delicious and comes with ice cream on the side.
