We came by here after going to the Museum of Illusions on a Sunday afternoon. I had the taco salad w/brisket. My bf had the classic double burger. Both were delicious. The service was good- not slow, not rushed. I especially liked that it wasn't loud in the restaurant despite many TVs. So often bars have the games blaring. We came here on a weekday afternoon after visiting the 6th floor museum and there was a steady flow of customers. We ordered the corn bread balls and the fish tacos. The food was hearty and generous. The corn bread balls came with a honey dipping sauce and were freshly fried. The fish tacos were also pretty good with a generous portion of fish, though it could have used more filling other than the fish and lettuce. The salsa that came with it was fiery hot. Overall, the food was pretty good. You pay for the bill online using a QR code. Overall, the food was pretty good. The vibe is that of a pub with tables throughout and also bar stools. Waiter was kind and helpful, but the place is big so it was hard to get her attention at times. read more

You walk in music is playing, there's a few TVs over the bar. Everyone was a little confused as there was a rush. There is enough seating to me comfortable. There are specials like a bacon wrapped corn dog. I also ordered fried pickles. Hope they are good . So the fried pickles came, I don't know if I would buy them again they're OK but you only get five pieces for $10. I always look at how good service is. That and food make you come back. Every staff member checks on you here. They all help each other. Usually I get a waiter or waitress that will say since I'm not their customer they will get my waiter, not here. Not for locals, but a good spot overall. You know your are in a tourist zone when the first question is where are you from. The staff was very friendly though and we really enjoyed the visit. We order the queso Blanco with pork rinds. It was okay queso, but not up to the standard of what we are used to. Perfect for tourists who can't stand any spice. The Wedge salad was pretty basic. Not many toppings, but the chicken we added was fresh and juicy. Overall we won't be back unless we just wanted some beers and maybe some wings. Stopped in after our visit to the 6th Floor Museum. The place was nearly empty, so we got undivided attention from our server. Food arrived quickly and nicely prepared. Peach burger had an ample amount of blue cheese. The Fritos on the chili burger added a satisfying crunch. Fish tacos were very spicy. Highly recommend the saloon's signature drink- a lovely mix of apple brandy lemon juice and grenadine. The atmosphere was welcoming, but very "quiet" in the late afternoon. read more

Wondered into Jack Ruby's for lunch today and definitely want to make it back for an evening dinner and live music. Our waiter was helpful, fun and friendly. Located just around the corner from Dealey Plaza, I brought my two boys here for lunch. Kind of a rustic interior that was smaller than it seemed from outside. Service was good and the fish tacos I had were actually quite tasty. We ordered loaded Queso as an appetizer and I guess their definition on loaded queso was just chips and a small cup of melted cheese. When I asked for more cheese, they promptly brought out another cup...and charged me for a second order. Overall experience was ok. Probably will keep walking next time. read more

Food was great. Bartender was great UNTIL her regulars left. Had to chase her down to pay. Very disappointing.

Hamburger was great with all the fixings and bacon. Ate at the bar and talked to the patrons while watching hockey. The bartender brought their portfolio of hot sauce over and a spoon and I tried a 1/2 spoon of each flavor. I like hot spice sauce flavors and can handle extremely hot but they had plenty options of milder variety's. They sell them too. Surprised to find chocolate habanero cherry was very good so bought a bottle. But the Thai Peanut was very good. French Fries with ketchup and a healthy splash splash splash of hot sauce lit it up. The bartender was personal and I enjoyed talking to her about wrestling. Which she had done in High School. Later I walked down to the grassy knoll and enjoyed a cigar while contemplating that whole insane JFK assassination thing. I was struck by the overestimate of the difficulty of the shot Lee Harvey I assume took to kill JFK. But I would not call the shot spectacular. But Jack Rubinstein made damn sure that story would never get told. They are all dead now but read more

Came here after a long day in class, the breakfast is pretty good. Straight to the point options, and it didn't take long for it to come out. I had a bug in mimosas but my waitress was super sweet, got me a fresh clean glass, new drink without any complaints lol. We went to the 6th floor museum to take people from out of town so of course the name of this restaurant caught our eye. We decided to take a chance. When you walk in, it seems dark and we were worried it was closed, but we just made it in before the lunch rush. The waitress was great, very responsive to requests and brought things even before we needed them. The food was really really good and the prices were reasonable. The BLT was excellent and the tater tots were perfect, crispy but still soft on the inside. We didn't have drinks, but will next time! read more

My sister and I were looking for a place to have a bite to eat after visiting the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. This place fit the bill just around the corner a block or two away. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon and we had our choice of seating in the open establishment. I opted for the crispy chicken sandwich w/ tater tots and my sister got the crispy taco plate. We were both pleased with our selections. Our server and bartender was very attentive. They had a huge selection of beers and cocktails including NA. My sister got the mystery beer and a shot of Fireball for $6. She got 3 guesses but couldn't guess the draft beer. Never did find out because apparently they have a NDA but it was good so she had another. Nice covered enclosed outdoor patio area with picnic tables with a section for smoking. A band was scheduled to perform but they were just getting there when we left. It's a fun little spot for that area. read more

Horrible experience had by our party of 10 and most of the other patrons. It was bizarre. The staff was hustling around trying their best but there were only about 5 tables. It seemed as if the establishment was very poorly managed and the staff were all working for their first day in the restaurant business. The sign at the front door asked patrons to wait to be seated but no one was tending to the door. I watched 3 groups wait at the door and then leave confused. Food was as expected, typical pub grub. The beer and whiskey selection is great, daily specials as well, and the food is on point. Small menu, but everything is done well, and it is a honky-tonk...all we ask for is something to hit the spot quickly so we can get back to the booze and the music.
