Specials for the day

You walk in music is playing, there's a few TVs over the bar. Everyone was a little confused as there was a rush. There is enough seating to me comfortable. There are specials like a bacon wrapped corn dog. I also ordered fried pickles. Hope they are good . So the fried pickles came, I don't know if I would buy them again they're OK but you only get five pieces for $10. I always look at how good service is. That and food make you come back. Every staff member checks on you here. They all help each other. Usually I get a waiter or waitress that will say since I'm not their customer they will get my waiter, not here. Good service !

Wedge salad with crispy chicken

Not for locals, but a good spot overall. You know your are in a tourist zone when the first question is where are you from. The staff was very friendly though and we really enjoyed the visit. We order the queso Blanco with pork rinds. It was okay queso, but not up to the standard of what we are used to. Perfect for tourists who can't stand any spice. The Wedge salad was pretty basic. Not many toppings, but the chicken we added was fresh and juicy. Overall we won't be back unless we just wanted some beers and maybe some wings. We saw those ordered and they looked delicious.

Peach Burger with fries

Stopped in after our visit to the 6th Floor Museum. The place was nearly empty, so we got undivided attention from our server. Food arrived quickly and nicely prepared. Peach burger had an ample amount of blue cheese. The Fritos on the chili burger added a satisfying crunch. Fish tacos were very spicy. Highly recommend the saloon's signature drink- a lovely mix of apple brandy lemon juice and grenadine. The atmosphere was welcoming, but very "quiet" in the late afternoon.

Wanted to get away from the overpriced downtown Dallas meals. Found Jack Ruby's and I'm glad I did. The building is amazing with live music on the weekends. Friendly wait staff and super quick service. The menu has great options and everyone left with a full belly!

A great little place to visit next to the sixth floor museum. Food was typical bar food but tasty. The service was fine.

Came here after a long day in class, the breakfast is pretty good. Straight to the point options, and it didn't take long for it to come out. I had a bug in mimosas but my waitress was super sweet, got me a fresh clean glass, new drink without any complaints lol. I do want to come here later in the evening to check out the vibes.

My sister and I were looking for a place to have a bite to eat after visiting the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. This place fit the bill just around the corner a block or two away. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon and we had our choice of seating in the open establishment. I opted for the crispy chicken sandwich w/ tater tots and my sister got the crispy taco plate. We were both pleased with our selections. Our server and bartender was very attentive. They had a huge selection of beers and cocktails including NA. My sister got the mystery beer and a shot of Fireball for $6. She got 3 guesses but couldn't guess the draft beer. Never did find out because apparently they have a NDA but it was good so she had another. Nice covered enclosed outdoor patio area with picnic tables with a section for smoking. A band was scheduled to perform but they were just getting there when we left. It's a fun little spot for that area.

Food was great. Bartender was great UNTIL her regulars left. Had to chase her down to pay. Very disappointing.

I had a chili dog Texas style! It was delicious! We came for lunch and enjoyed it! We walked here from the JFK museum at the depository.

Their burger and tots is the best in town. I hear it is the Kentucky UK alumni bar as well. Great staff and easy parking!

great food . The Hummel Bros. hot dog is the best in DFW. The bologna sandwich is a better version of the ones my Aunt use to make.

However, after visiting multiple times at different times of day, I don't think I'll be coming back. The food is fine and the coffee is okay, but the customer service has consistently been disappointing, and that's what ultimately ruins the experience. Each time I've gone, the staff behind the counter seem disengaged and uninterested in helping customers. There have been multiple occasions where no one acknowledges you at the counter, or they stay in the back and make you feel like you're interrupting them just by ordering. When they do interact, it often comes across as short or unfriendly. I'm not trying to make assumptions about the staff, but after repeated experiences like this, the environment just feels unwelcoming. It's gotten to the point where I can't even focus on working there because the overall vibe feels off. It's frustrating because this place could be great with more attentiveness and basic kindness in customer service. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently negative enough that it outweighs everything else.

After requesting a water to go, we were unexpectedly accused by the bartender, Jake, of placing an alcoholic beverage into a to-go cup. The accusation was embarrassing, unnecessary, and made even more uncomfortable by the fact that it was made publicly and without cause. To be fair, the manager on staff handled our complaint regarding Jake professionally and with care, which we truly appreciated. However, the situation itself left a lasting negative impression. As professionals in the criminal law and medical fields, we value professionalism, discretion, and respectful communication. Being wrongly accused in that manner was disappointing and frankly humiliating. Because of this experience, we will not be returning anytime soon, despite what had otherwise been an enjoyable evening.

This visit we didn't get any entrees or drinks we were there for the cake. We don't have one in our state so we were ECSTATIC to find out there were a few in the metroplex area. We did go 2 out of our 4 days there. Just get the cake, ask for a middle piece. Everything is locally sourced and the whipped cream is made fresh and you can tell. Every bite is heaven. The slices are pretty big so 2 of us share one. The service is fantastic and fast. Zero complaints. We also learned on our last visit that they ship the whiskey cake.. not sure they should've told me this lmao because I will be ordering.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar - Comfort, Cocktails, and a Sweet Finish…read more A quick stop in Fort Worth to visit friends during our six-week road trip led us here, and it turned into one of those "glad we chose this place" kind of nights. The space is large, comfortable, and full of life, even on a Wednesday evening. There are cozy sofa corners if you want something a little more intimate, plus an outdoor area that's "outside"... but not too outside, which honestly feels like a win. Drinks were a highlight. My boulevardier was spot on, and then I shared a smoked Old Fashioned with my friend that was just... exquisite. Smooth, balanced, and a little dramatic in the best way. Food held its own. The chicken and waffles were delicious, the chopped chicken salad was fresh and satisfying, and my friend's Reuben got a lot of love from her side of the table. And then came dessert. We shared the Whiskey Cake with praline ice cream, and let's just say, it lives up to the name. Decadent, rich, and absolutely worth it. Service was really good. Attentive without hovering, and thoughtful in those small ways that stand out. At one point, our server split the Old Fashioned for us without us even asking. That kind of anticipation earns points. This is the kind of place you return to when you're back in town. Comfortable, reliable, and just indulgent enough to feel like a treat.
