Drove up from Laredo on a Tuesday to get a bowl of soup. Parked my rig outside and proceeded in. Very impressive draft microbrew selection with special surprise draft options changing weekly. The barkeep said to call for updates if that's your thing. I don't drink that shit so I ordered up a corona with a lime, ain't no bitch in my blood. I felt like mixing things up a bit and ordered a shot. Told the very kind bartender I'd like something light and sweet, like banana schnapps, and she recommended a shot called Mortal Kombat, great choice, very refreshing. Overall great bar that had some great people hanging out. Your friend, Tex read more

The most pleasant money-back experience Went to see Mad World. Paid a sawbuck to get the two of us in. We head inside to order drinks and food. We get our drinks, sit down outside and the hip-hop bass from the pool across the street intrudes on our listening experience at Lee Harvey's. Went back inside, "Hey bro, kill the food, we're leaving." Bartender was so nice he comped the food and the drinks on our tab, then he went out to the door guy to tell him what happened before we had to. Got my $20 bill back and left. No drama at all! The same owner owns Lee Harvey's and the pool. What an idiot. read more

Always a great place for live music and great weather. Dog friendly outside area. Love that inside has been same for over 20 years. Love the burger. Definitely recommend everyone visit. read more

Lee Harvey's is a staple in south dallas. It's about as divey of a dive bar as you get. I personally will take a dive bar over a cocktail lounge any day. If you're that kinda dirt bag too, then this is the real thing. The place is falling apart and that's exactly how it should be. There's a lot of places that try to capture that aesthetic but you don't get that with money, you get it with age and dedicated clientele, which is all the proof you need it's a good place. The food is also surprisingly good for a place like this. It's a kinda build your own burger with all the toppings on the side but that's what makes it feel like home. If you're fancy, skip this. If you like a good time, this is the spot. Not to mention they have a pool next door. read more

Excellent food. Great service. Really dive bar ambiance. Perfect for a gathering. Highly recommend Lee Harvey's!!!

They have street parking and a couple of lots to park at. I came to meet a couple of friends after works . I opted for the fish and chips. The fries were great, they put some kind of seasoning on them that I ate more fries than I normally would. The service was good, Aubrey was very helpful on helping me select a drink. The ambiance is not the tv version of cheers , but it seems everyone knows each other's names. read more

I wish I could leave 10 stars. Such a cool place. On top of the ambiance and amazing drinks, the owner, Seth was so cool. We are tourists from out of town. Seth and his buddy, William, spent the entire evening entertaining us. This really made our trip. read more

We had another grand time at Lee Harvey's yesterday, lunching and drinking and chatting with the nearby bar stool inhabitants. I tried the fish and chips, which was tasty and well prepared but only had two medium sized fillets, a bit on the skimpy portion size. Kat the bartender is there every weekday for lunch and afternoons, and she is awesome. Yesterday, she changed the white boy 70s rock Spotify station to Townes Van Zandt, and the whole afternoon was elevated as a result. read more

Granted it's known for being a bar, but we went for lunch. Great cheeseburgers and onion rings! read more

Ok.. so we have been in the area for concerts in the last few months, and going to Lee Harvey's has been one of the top places to visit. It's small inside, unassuming, great prices, and a huge patio! We have also opted to eat dinner there more than once because they have a really tasty menu that is very reasonably priced. The staff is very chill, they are very helpful and we always have a good time there. read more

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and it's pet friendly! Mixed drinks are loaded just right. Food is well worth it. Everything is very flavorful and made to order. Sauces are a a great compliment to the food and don't overpower it. Would recommend getting an Uber or Lyft in order to just sit back and enjoy the evening and ride back responsibly cuz the place welcomes you to unwind. If not a beer with a burger makes for a fine evening. read more

One of Dallas's secret gems. One of the best burgers in town. Get the fry/onion ring combo with your burger. You'll thank me later. Their burger of the month is always an interesting and delicious choice. read more

Have wanted to check this out for quite some time. Took my sexy woman out for drinks and tunes on Saturday night. The neighborhood is a little sketchy and pretty much only street parking. The building looks like it should be condemned and the restrooms were gross. There is a fairly large outdoor area and a couple of small bars inside. We both had a classic burger and it was fairly average. There was a Cars cover band at 930 and they were fire!!! Overall pretty good people watching and the dallas skyline in the background. If dirty dive bars are your thing this is it!!! read more

The staff is friendly and helpful. Their menu is great and the kitchen is open late! Lee Harvey's is a Dallas staple and I can see why.

I don't know what to make of this place. Did this used to be a good place to go to? Did the owners die and random strangers now run the bar off and on? Was this a nice place that is now derelict on purpose or by happenstance? Also, was it serendipity that now feet away are new apartment complexes where couples of various genders or non-genders now visit Lee Harvey's with their various toy dog breeds? Was what once was a dive bar now a hipster hangout purely by accident? Do people visiting even know who Lee Harvey was? We went here cause we had our dog with us. The place is an absolute dump, but I think what was once neglected is now done so on purpose. The food was excellent. Sandwiches and beers hit the spot. Rustic isn't the word for it. Your grandfather's shed might be more appropriate. Grizzled blue collar workers and couples with dogs to be seen here. I got a kick out of the guy in a sport coat doing selfies with his gal in a dress inside. They were laughing at the state of the place and I was laughing at them. Weird place. Bathrooms are disgusting. read more

lee harvey's is a classic dive bar and an old school dallas spot. you're generally gonna get a kinda standoffish bartender who's on point and pours strong drinks, all different kinds of clientele and a d*mn good burger. nice large outdoor patio area. read more

I love this place. It's so chill. The people who go here are far from the consultant JCrew type from Dallas and it's very refreshing. Beer is cheap! My go to is the fish and chips if I'm hungry. Very dog friendly, it started raining and they didn't care that we brought a dog in. read more

I have had a blast every time I've gone here. Super cool inside and outside. I legitimately think they have my favorite burger in Dallas. On my most recent visit I went with their burger of the month. It was a "caprese salad burger" with fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, basil, and a balsamic glaze. It was phenomenal. Only downsides are the location and the heat in the summer. Nonetheless I have never had a bad time at Lee Harvey's. GET A BURGER. PS: I have never been without live music playing (might change the vibe) read more

Best burgers and onion rings in the Cedars, just minutes from Downtown. Live Music Friday- Saturday. Dog friendly

Who doesn't love a dive bar? Great food and great service. I believe it's the best hamburger in Dallas. Life gets crazy busy. I can only make it a few times a year now. Was once a regular. But always make it on my birthday. Thanks for making it special. Yum Yum.! read more

We tried to go here at 7:30pm on a Saturday because the reviews for the food looked Great, and we had kind of a large group that the patio could have easily accommodated. However, we walk up to the gate, and the guy tells us there's a $10 cover/donation for the band. LOL the band was not good y'all. Felt really early for a cover, and the guy was not letting us simply not "donate" in order to give the business money for their food. Really disappointed!!!! read more

We had a very pleasant experience when we visited Lee Harvey's the Saturday before the eclipse. My wife and I were impressed with the food menu and the quality of what was offered. WARNING - BIASED REVIEW Worked on and off with one of the owners for two years and never knew she owned this establishment. Somehow it came up because I was talking about going to lunch so she told me to stop by her place which I did. I will have to say, this is probably the most/best seasoned burger I have had in Dallas and it's no small patty. Tasted great. Give this place a try. Place is a dive joint that also plays live music. Patio is dog-friendly. read more

I like the steak here. Opt for side spring salad with balsamic vinaigrette and order a side of french fries. The salad really seals the deal - feta cheese, apple/pear, nutty awesomeness to compliment a juicy slab of steak. It is the best deal on a steak dinner in Dallas and is enough to share with yo' date. read more

We went to this joint after church. We go to First Baptist Dallas downtown. The service was good. The guy who took our order was very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I had cheeseburgers and fries. The meat was cooked medium just like I asked and the fries were browned to perfection....yum! The only thing I would change about the burger was that the pickles were sweet and not dill. Sweet is for dessert in my book! Other than that a great experience and we will be back! read more

Fun. Dumb name but great bar. Good people. I had a lot of fun, and already planning my next visit.

Rang in 2024 with some locals at this place. I had a very fun time. The locals are friendly and inviting to strangers. I didn't get to see any live music, but I could imagine it would be amazing there. Sat out by the campfire for awhile, comforting setting! Drink prices were also amazing. read more

Great vibes, better than standard bar food! We had the special with butternut squash soup topped with fried brussels sprouts and feta or goat cheese and a rye bread grilled cheese with havarti and prosciutto! My hub had a burger with half fries and onion rings, yummy bread and butter pickles, thick patty, and jalapeños. I had some craft beers and the hub had some American standards like tall boy PBRs. A Beatles cover band was playing and we sat outside on a 70 degree mildly sunny day. It was legit fun! read more

Great place to catch live music, however, the neighborhood sucks due to their constant noise complaints about the bands being too loud. If you choose to live next to a live venue don't complain about the sound of the bands performing. read more

It's been a minute since I've updated my LH review. In the past couple of months I've had the perfect days/nights here. Our own Kaia V won friend of the day a couple of weeks ago (check out their FB page and you could win too). It was on a Friday where I got the day off early from work so we were at Lee Harvey's around 3:30pm. Only a few people were there. The weather outside was PERFECT! We sat outside and had the perfect time with perfect friends and perfect drinks! Last week we went for $1 taco night. You're seriously a winner with $1 tacos. The fish with the aoli sauce, the beef with the onions are just delicious and they are only a friggin $1. A DOLLAR. I sat at the bar this time since it was chilly outside (I'm a wimp) and some good friends joined me. I got to meet Timm the bartender, which I have known him forever it seems, and think I've met him before when he did a short run at Elbow Room. We all had a good time chatting and drinking and eating and hearing Timm and Kaz tell stories of some of the regulars. We eventually went outside when the fire pits were going and continued to have the best time ever. Of the 10+ years I've been going to LH I can't think of a bad time. In fact many of my greatest memories of being out and about involve this place. I'm dreaming of their perfect patio right now. read more

Second time. This is a great place to hang out! Great bartender - welcoming and humorous. Anyone fits in here! Next time i want to order food. The menu looks great! read more

Yup, come here. The onion ring hype is real. I usually don't like onion rings because I find them too greasy depending on how restaurants batter them. But the rings here are light, crispy and fairly thin, which I decided to love and cherish as if they were my own after a couple of bites. I'm getting ahead of myself. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup to start out with, honestly not expecting much but it was actually pretty decent. I wouldn't say it's the best tortilla soup I've had but I was surprised how hearty and meaty the soup was. Everything in it tasted fresh. I also ordered the half pound burger with cheddar cheese, avocado, bacon and subsituted the fries for the onion rings. It was a perfect med. rare and so freakin juicy. That bacon though...Damn, it wasn't a tiny burnt strip, it was hefty bacon on that burger. The bartender/server was very friendly and at one point the cook came out and asked how I liked my meal. I dig it. read more

Best dive bar in Dallas! Ok, so it might not be a pristine uptown nightclub, but that's what gives Lee Harvey's it's charm! First off, the food is great and is what I would call "cookout food," like burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, etc. The live bands are always amazing and usually are rock or pop orientated. Even when it's cold out, if they have the fire pits going, it'll still be a fun night. Definitely come check this place out for a good time and some awesome music! read more

Dallas has a lot of great bars, and I like different ones for different moods and days. There are even a lot of good dive bars. But Lee Harvey's is the best dive bar in Dallas, and I consider myself something of an expert. Good bartenders mixing strong drinks without a fuss. They kept our tab straight - even when the group beside us had the same last name! Tons of graffitti in the bathroom, covering every square inch of the tiny space (bathroom is so small you don't need to lock the door - because there is no way for another person to squeeze in). Heck, there is even graffitti in the parking area, and on other buildings in the area. Dog-friendly. Good local bands in a comfortable outdoor venue, with s great sound system. Decent firepits if the weather warrants a fire. What more could you ask for?!? Def my fave dive bar! We've enjoyed it for years, and yes we will go back! read more

This is a dive bar, but if you're in the area, the hamburgers here are awesome! Onion rings are great and the best tasting pickles come with the burger. I was still hungry after eating the burger, I hadn't eaten all day, I ordered their steak street tacos and they were awesome tasting. I was there late Friday evening, enjoyed some live music and very friendly people. Worth checking out, ordering a burger or tacos and a cold beer! read more

This is one of the best places I have been. It's a dive I go back to over and over. If you are looking for a sit down type of restaurant, this AINT it.
