So my coworker invited us out here. This was my first time at this location. We decided to go here after work. It is right off of Garland Road. It is a black building. You will miss it, but I have to say this is a bar like they say don't judge a book by its cover cause when I pulled up, I was like, where am I, but when I opened the door, wow, it was terrific. The vibe is on point. They have a big karaoke stage. They do game nights. They do a Mario Party or Mario Kart night, and they have a happy hour. They have a game room in the back with darts, pool tables, and a few arcades that offer free play. I mean, this place was amazing. We came on Friday after work. I got the cocktail. I can't remember the name, but it was a celery gin-infused cocktail. It was on point, delicious. My coworker got another cocktail that had mezcal in it. This cocktail was so good, the way it was made. It was just delicious. We also ordered the umami pretzels with a three different dipping sauce, a mustard and apple type of sauce and I can't remember the other one, but I highly recommend this as a starter the sauces were so good and everything so I really wanna go back and try the food because the bartender was telling us that they just opened up in August they have a chef a new person there and so I'm really excited to try some of the food that they have there overall it was an amazing experience love the vibe you need to check them out like I said if you don't pay attention, you will drive past them so I highly recommend this bar. I can't wait to go back.

Drinks, food, and vibes are all tens across the board. Very friendly staff, fast drinks and amazing food all at a reasonable price.

Don't let the dive bar ambiance scare you it's definitely the people and the vibe that keeps you here. It has a special, magical charm of the perfect dive bar. I'm ignoring my previous trip there as, well, I should not have brought that person to this place. This place is not for pretentious people. Thus I was at home at this spot. It looks camouflaged by plain wrapping with a boring exterior. Open the door and it is a world of more things to explore than you have time to. You are treated like family as a stranger. Be ready to be among people who want to know you. I guess I fit as some there knew my friends from other dive bars. I never realized how small the Dallas Dive bar world was. I have some cool friends. The music is good on the video jukebox. The tears came to my eyes as a few post 9/11 patriotic songs were played (I bleed Army green and so did some that didn't return home to their moms intact.) Glad none there saw my eyes or noticed my toast to my memories. The couple dancing on the next song made me feel more at home. Good thing a good 2 step or waltz never played or I might have had to find a partner. The decor is somewhat Green Bay Packer-ish. Okay, a lot of Green Bay love in the decor. Heh, yes, I still carry a grudge from the 1967 Ice Bowl as a life long Cowboy fan should! But, I respect a bar owner who has actual stock in his/her team and displays it proudly! So that adds another star or would that be Starr? The patrons make this one special. This is one of the great dive bars!

I got the impossible burger with sweet potato fries. Amazing! We sat outside which may have been the wrong move, once the food arrived a slew of flies swarmed us and would not give up! They love dogs and came to hang out with our dog and give them plenty of water. They even offer treats if you would like. There is plenty of parking for an off period (we came at around 2pm). It's the kind of place where you can come as you are, grab some good food and drinks, and just hang out. The patio is definitely the star of the show! It's big, relaxed, and has a great neighborhood vibe. We loved that it's dog-friendly and super family-friendly too. There were lots of kids enjoying the space, which makes it a great place for everyone to gather. Goodfriend has a great beer selection, fun specials, and a menu full of casual favorites. It's perfect for a weekend afternoon, meeting up with friends, or just enjoying the Dallas weather outside. One little thing I noticed: we've been able to split appetizers for payment in the past, but this time we weren't able to. Not a huge deal, but a little more consistency with payment options would make the experience even smoother. He was a nice guy, service was good. Overall, this is a cool neighborhood hangout with a great patio, good food, friendly vibes, and a place you can easily spend a few hours relaxing.

The patio was pretty empty when I arrived at the end of happy hour but quickly started to fill with post-work patrons. My server, Jesse, was great! Super attentive and friendly. I tried the Texas Heat Flatbread ($8 on Mondays) and the Tater Kegs. They were each very tasty. The portion sizes were large enough that I could box half of it up for later. You could easily split a flatbread and an app between two people. **Girlies, I know where you need to be "girl dinner & yapping" on a Monday night** The restaurant's proximity to the White Rock Lake trails is also a perk. I was able to take a quick post dinner walk along the water. I will definitely be coming back for a post-walk "rehydration" break at a later date.

We were huge fans of Meddlesome Moth(which had closed a few months prior). The beer list didn't excite me(I'm a beer snob) but the bar vibe and the great staff quickly made me forget about that. We eat there twice a month now and when we don't get in on a regular schedule, we really miss it. I'm a huge fan of the steak frites and my wife loves the weekly pasta dishes which never disappoint. The cocktails are great and they're made by the friendliest barkeeps in town(Matt, Christine) Christopher keeps the place flowing and Brittani(owner) is great and always welcoming. The overall vibe is comfy and totally unpretentious. Goldies is a hidden gem but has quickly become a popular spot. Great spots like this don't stay hidden very long. Highly recommended! Carter L

Food, however, wasn't great, we came multiple times last year and it was fantastic all around, last night?... New risotto appetizer was flavorless 4/10, sauce was outstanding 9/10. Chicken meatballs were 6/10, salty, but sauce again was 8.5/10. Bread with the meatballs was 9/10. Nightly special was 9/10, chicken thigh wrapped chicken leg, amazing sauce and carrots. Special sauce with the nightly special stole the night at 9.5/10 - I'd order a bowl of that and call it a night! Magic Chicken Thighs were 6/10, overly salted and dry - side arugula salad was a salt bomb 2/10. Sweet potatoe purée was 7.5/10. Burger and fries were 7/10, solid and above average. Salmon was 7/10, slightly overcooked. Mac & Cheese was 3/10, below average, dry, almost flavorless - paid $4 for bacon topping and it was dry also. Noodles were dried out and the cheese sauce was at the bottom of the cup, tasted like they scooped in pre-made noodles, added sauce, threw it in the oven and off it went - didn't appear mixed together at the least. Carrots, solid 8/10. Overall, I'd be tempted to give it another try, the ambiance and overall feel is awesome - then hope the food is great again and make it a perfect Friday night spot, but for $275 for the 4 entree's, 2 appetizer's and 2 drinks we got last night? I'd argue it wasn't worth it.
